Finish What You Started 2025 - Event Rules

The goal of this event is to get things done that you’ve already started. We all have unfinished projects whose incomplete status haunts us. Those are what we want to tackle!

The structure is loose, as this is a multimedia event. While primarily aimed at writers, this event is open to any kind of creative fanwork. Fics, translations, podfics, fanart, animations, cosplay - if you started it and never got it done, it qualifies. There is no sign-up required. I will not assign beta readers for writers, but I can boost requests for those who want them! And I can boost messages of those who would like to beta read.

The mod is a danmei fan mainly, but your work can be any fandom. Maybe something you started before your current fandom excitement took over, or one you keep putting off in favor of compelling new ideas.

Feel free to pass this event info along! The more the merrier!

Further rules and clarifications:

Alt text is very encouraged, especially for boost posts or artwork! Remember, alt text is searchable (so much as anything ever is on this site), so it can help more people find your work as well as letting vision- and internet-impaired fans enjoy it (which is its main purpose).

Machine Generated or “AI” images and writing are not permitted. If you are found in violation of this rule, you will be removed from the event. All images, writing, or other works must be your own.

If your work is NSFW, I will only boost it if it has appropriate content warnings. Spoilering images is recommended but not required as long as it’s tagged. Do not letter-swap or abbreviate content warnings. These are so people can mute them as needed. Example: “gore” not “g0re”

Remember Tumblr can mute phrases, but each warning should be its own tag as well as in the body.

This account will post weekly morale-boosting messages and helpful resources. Every Friday, starting March 14th, will be Finished It Friday. All the completed works posted that week will be boosted together in a big thread, so we can celebrate your accomplishment!

Halfway-point check-in is April 1st. Final event deadline is April 30th. The last Finished It Friday is May 9th.

FAQ:

Q: Are original works acceptable?

A: This is primarily a fanwork-focused event. If original work is the only WIP you have to work on, it’s certainly fine to work on it during the time frame of the event. If it is posted publicly when finished, you may tag it for boosting.

Q: Are there any restrictions on topics?

A: No, so long as your event # post is properly & fully tagged for content (see rules about tagging above). "Dead Dove” topics are allowed. Some submissions will be 18+. For me, this is less about the content and more about finishing it.

Q: Are there any restrictions on media that can be submitted?

A. All content created must be your own and must abide from other stated rules. The usual restrictions based on laws and Community Guidelines of course apply, so you may need to tailor how you post to which event space your interacting with. Twitter, Tumblr, and Discord all have their own rules. There are also some topics that are in poor taste to make fanworks around. The event organizer and mods reserve the right to not boost your work if they decide it is rage-baiting or trolling. They are not responsible for negative reactions to your works. Please be respectful of those you share a digital space with.

Keep in mind that when I link to your finished work during a Finished It Friday, it may reach a wider audience than you may be used to.

So, for this challenge, pick any song that features a color of the rainbow either in the title or lyrics and make something that is inspired by that song. Here's a playlist to help get you started.

Now, I'm not gonna get all up in your color wheel. You want to use Purple Pills instead of Violet Hill? Want to go with Taylor Swift's Maroon instead of her Red? Go for it!

This event runs between June 8th-14th, 2025.

You can interpret the prompt any way you'd like, as long as you've focused on one or more members of Corroded Coffin and a song that features a color of the rainbow.

Sabezra Secret Santa Event Rules

It is preferable to have your gift finished and posted by December 25th, either in your timezone or your giftee's.

You are permitted to post your gift early, and you are also given a grace period of one week after Christmas to post your gift. If you have not finished your gift by the end of January 2, 2025, you will be disallowed from any further secret santa events or similar events from this blog for the next year and until you have completed your gift for this event.

If you can't finish your gift, contact me ASAP, and I'll start working on a backup gift so no one gets left out! It's no pressure if you can't finish and need to tap out, and you'll still get your gift, just make sure you let me know!

If you feel like you do not mesh well with your giftee, let me know as well and we'll work on a solution!

All gifts for this event must have a rating of T or below. Absolutely no NSFW content will be allowed in this event.

there are absolutely no restrictions. Fuck it we ball style. Does the ship contain xue yang and person(s) you’d REALLY like to see him shipped with? Its fair game. if by xue yang centric you mean from his POV or focussed on his story, then no. The only requirement is the ship is what you would consider a xue yang rare pair. we are very loosey goosey in this house. if writing fic, there is no particular word count goal. For art/comics, anything you consider a complete piece works. (Doodles, sketches, etc)

the event will feature prompts and themes to get the juices flowing but other than that, nope, no restriction. All themes, tropes, contents, ships (even platonic ones, maybe theres someone you just wanna see hang out and be buddies?), sexual dynamic, content ratings, alternate universes, canons (novel, show, etc), are ABSOLUTELY WELCOME.

Corroded Coffin Fest: May Mayhem Bingo

Come experience the mayhem. The reverse tropes. The other side of the coin. The no good, very bad days. The headaches in the making. The absurd.

Complete any vertical, horizontal or diagonal line of 5 prompts for a bingo. Complete all 25 for a blackout. Prompts cannot be combined on the card. Ooooooh let’s see what we can do here. This milestone event is going to be Song Inspiration Requests, meaning you can send requests based on a song you’d like.

Rules:

As always, please don’t abuse anonymous when requesting. 2 request maximum per person!

Include the following - song title, artist, character/group, and relationship (platonic, romantic, familial)

Let it be known that sometimes the songs don’t inspire :( if they don’t, I will post your request or reply back privately to let you know!! If your request does get denied, I promise you’ll be allowed a new request!!!

BIG ONE - if the song you pick is apart of the media/fandom, the request will be automatically denied. It just doesn’t spark inspiration since I already have a specific idea of that song with a certain scene.

1. this event focuses on spain and portugal. you are not obliged to create something about both characters, but should focus on at least one in what you choose to make;

2. use the #hetaberia week 2025 tag and please @hetaberia-week when sharing your works on tumblr so we can find them easily;

3. the free day token allows you to make any of the 7 days your free day! if there's a set of prompts that have you stumped, just use the token and go wild! we'll let you use this once per event – just tag your work as being a #free day token work so we know!;

4. you're more than welcome to combine prompts, make multiple works for one prompt, etc. you're also free to make as many or as few works as you like. make the event yours!;

5. submissions (i.e. tumblr posts) should be tagged appropriately, with characters, ships, warnings, and so on. e.g.: #hws portugal, #aph netherlands, #frain, #cw blood, #wsfn). this helps us use the same tags when we reblog!;

6. a list of content we won't be accepting: inc*st, n-con, p*dophilia and n*crophilia. nice and short. for those using day 5's 'history' prompt, please avoid topics covering current affairs, dicratorships, extremism, g*nocide, etc. we feel this is not a suitable event for these subject matters. we expect sensitivity and respect from participants, and we will ignore submissions that aren't appropriate at our own discretion;

7. we do not tolerate any form of bullying, harassment, ship-bashing, and other general nastiness. this is a safe space for creators to share their work, and we expect everyone to treat it as such. see something you don't like? scroll on!;

8. we welcome any and all ships for this event! it's all about creating new things for everyone to enjoy – no matter how rare or niche or popular or cliché! we want it all!;
