the shipaganza is basically a totally self indulgent, oc-centric shipathon. for the month of february i take public prompts and draw art of my oc in cute and/or romantic situations with other kirby characters, both canon and oc. i have a tag for anything even tangentially related to oc shipping on my blog here under #🎀💖, where you can find previously filled prompts and a few other similar pieces! when i first started exploring the possibility of "shipping" my character i was super nervous!! so to get better at it, i asked the community to send me prompts, especially romantically coded ones, and it was a surprise hit! since then i kinda decided that she's just everyone's easy breezy girlfriend. ocs and canon alike, she's free real estate. look at all the folks she can pull by being autistic! peace and love on planet popstar. yippee! cringe but free.

while the event is ongoing, i take prompts and try to draw them. no guarantees! i can only draw what i have ideas for. if you want to submit a prompt, check the rules out down below and trot over to the ask box! other artists are also welcome to draw their OC with starstruck (or starstruck with a canon character, if you really wanted!) and submit it to the event, but please read the rules down below first!! despite its intention to focus on romantic themes, this event is strictly safe for work, and frankly there's a relatively limited amount of actual "romance" involved. this is probably because i am aromantic and broadly headcanon kirby characters as not knowing what a "date" or "marriage" is. but we make do.

🎀 ADULT CHARACTERS ONLY. the most critical rule. starstruck is in her 30s. any suggested characters must be adults in a suitable age bracket (28+). this goes for OCs and canon characters. if you think a canon character is a child, do not submit them for this event! additionally if i personally headcanon a submitted canon character as a child (such as Adeleine), i will not draw the prompt! all canon characters i'm drawing with starstruck for this event are adults in my world building.

🎀 no nsfw prompts flirty characters are great! bullies are fun and even violence is okay (something tonally similar to the marx prompt or galacta knight's birthday kiss, for instance). but i have a hard enough time even making the orbs smooch non-platonically; anything more explicit is clearly going to be out of my ballpark.

🎀 this event is Valentine's Day themed, explicitly! my metrics for romance are scrambled by aromanticism and my own experiences and preferences, but it is important to me that the shipaganza is understood as a romantically coded event (even if the characters themselves don't understand romance). while i love and adore character friendships, please do not suggest a character who you think would be "just good platonic friends" with starstruck for this event; i find it really infantilising in this context.

🎀 please don't be rude! yes, this is super cringe!!!! yes, my oc has 50 billion boyfriends! we are just playing with our touys!!! you can block the tag on my blog if you dislike this event or oc x canon stuff!! no shade; i completely understand that this is not for everyone so i make it easy to block! take care of yourself.

🎀 you can ask for a repeat character! this mostly pertains to canon characters, but i actually find this incredibly fun!! kinda like rooting for your fave!! a special rarepair just for you. if you wanna see more of a match-up that's already been drawn for, feel free to send in a new prompt for them and you might get lucky!!

🎀 scenarios are inspiring! for some characters i already have a lot in mind, but if you give me something to work with, i'll be better able to come up with something and feel more inspired to fill your prompt! this applies even more to OCs, especially if i don't know you or your OC well. please please give me some info about your oc and why you think they'd work together as a couple. like, would your oc make a move that starstruck fails to notice? are they accidentally dating? do they share an interest? is your oc a hopeless pining romantic, are they a charmer, are they a bully, so on and so fourth!

Hi!! I only recently found out about your art, and I love it so dang much! Halion and Morpho especially are so beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the things you focused on when creating Halion? I'm making my own character in Baldur's Gate 3, and I feel like I'm missing some things.

As for the character creation process--

Imma ramble a bit here so apologies :

Halion wasn't my first Tav, he actually started as the "Dream Lover" (early access version of the Guardian) but I liked his design so much I wanted to try playing as him!

After playing a little further into act 1, kind if understanding where BG3 takes place in terms of the other content in faerun, I basically went into a big lore deep dive about the Forgotten Realms. I've had the privilege of playing other campaigns that take place there (Horde of the Dragon Queen, Out of the Abyss, Dungeon of the Mad Mage ect ect) so there is lots of little lore tidbits I've picked up along the way and basically stuffed into Halion.

My main suggestion for developing a BG3 character backstory, is look into your characters race/culture lore, research into some of the deities and look into some faerun locations; I know canonically Tav is from Baldur's Gate, but they may have lived somewhere before (eg. Halion lived in Candlekeep as a child, and was born in Elturel- both locations feed into his background and life choices). And if your Tav is gith why not look into the astral plane? Look into wild space?~

An example of this is, Halion is a paladin, I looked to good aligned deities, fell for Lathander since Halion has sun iconography, then found that Lathander has actual Paladin Orders (eg Order of the Aster), who worked to fight against Shar and similar evil aligned gods. While this is all well and good, Halion's lack of brutality led to him being kicked out of his Order, just before the Nautiloid abduction. This plays into his personality, how he interacts with characters like shadowheart, and how he interprets game events.

There is lots of cool lore within the forgotten realms and lots to digest and grab inspiration from for your character :) to be fair though, some of that may also com naturally as you play, make decisions and see the ingame story develop~

Reversed Roles

The 4D-world was the same, but at the same time different. Sixer was looking at it from a new perspective now, not so much tethered by time as he was tethered to the mindscape, which didn’t perceive time in the same way.

As far as he was concerned, he was asleep, and this was a waking dream.

At least this way those damned voices aren’t going to mess with my timeline.

Sixer remained in the gray-shaded outer mindscape of the dimension for a moment, looking for that familiar presence that Morpho had. If that presence could be found amongst all the others that existed in this dimension.

Better make sure to avoid whatever creatures control this place, unless I decide to mess with them.

Another headcannons list 🙃

0. King Dedede owns and wears the outfits of his Smash Bro's alts, including this important one:

Meta Knight knows very little about tech support etc, but technology just works around him. If a computer has a big glitch, just touching it seems to fix it.

King Dedede is a stellar cook and knows a ton of high skill techniques in cooking, however uses his skills exclusively for the stupidest food imaginable. He will eat this stupid food willingly. Nobody else (besides Kirby) will eat the food.

Susie Haltmann believes robots are superior because humans have emotions and emotions feel bad. Robots don't cry. Robots don't miss how their dad used to be. Susie does not believe anything is wrong with her (except for the fact she is not completely a robot)

Meta Knight has a mantra similar to "this too shall pass" when confronted with bad events (mechanization, Halberd crashed again, etc.) Unfortunately, he also thinks of this this mantra when hanging out with his friends.

Morpho Knight can hear Galacta Knight in his head and see his "ghost" walking around. Galacta Knight, despite an inability to interact with the world, is enjoying the freedom from imprisonment and responsibilities. They like to follow the Dream team around, with Meta Knight being the only one suspicious.

Kirby acts like a cat sometimes when he wants a hug and will headbutt and burrow his head into his friends until he gets a hug.

Prince Fluff in Kirby's world becomes crocheted

Not all of Kirby’s friends know the story behind why there is a random sock in Kirby’s house. They just assume it's his emotional support sock, despite him not wearing socks, and quietly don't mention it.

Sailor Dee curses like a sailor (in private)

Meta Knight keeps his wings hidden in his cape most of the time as they just get in the way of fighting. He is willing to leave them out around friends and when feeling perfectly safe.

Every single one of the Meta-Knights has a secret candy stash that the others don't know about. Meta Knight knows where the candy stashes are and uses it to his advantage, unbeknownst to his crew.

Kirby, Bandana Dee and King Dedede are all cuddlers in their sleep and have the tendency to roll over and hug something or someone in their sleep. Sometimes, Meta Knight is the one being hugged. Meta Knight will tolerate this until morning, where he untangles himself and pretends he wasn’t hugged last night. Sometimes, King Dedede and Kirby aren't completely asleep when they hug Meta Knight.

Adeline lives with Ribbon on Ripple Star. She paints herself fairy wings to fit in.

King Dedede enjoys cheesy romance novels. He puts fake covers on them so people don't know he reads them. Bandana Dee has picked up one of these books after being interested in the cover, then put it back after reading a bit without saying a word.

Bandana Dee owns custom cookie cutters and cookie stamps. He uses them to make the King Dedede, Meta Knight and Kirby cookies seen in Dream Buffet. He also has increasingly arbitrary shapes, like ones of specific enemies or that say long, obscure phrases that are only useful in a hyperspecific situation

Susie recognizes Elfilin. Elfilin does not recognize Susie herself, but rather her species.

Meta Knight is used to people revering him and being afraid to talk to him. As a result he has had little to no practice for talking to others as equals, resulting in being kinda awkward with social interaction with friends.

Of all the Meta-Knights Axe Knight is by far the easiest to figure out. Now to the two knights that leave me scratching my head the most...

Most of my headcanons regarding Axe Knight were already covered by my Mace Knight post, so I'll only mention some that are exclusive to him.

Axe Knight has ties to the Underworld and knows quite a lot about that place and its inhabitants including folks such as Morpho Knight, Necrodeus and Dark Nebula.

Speaking of which, the chest Dark Nebula was locked inside used to be part of Axe Knight's luggage. While he wasn't the one who locked the "Ruler of the Underworld" away he helped move the chest somewhere where it wouldn't be found... Or so he thought.

After the Halberd sank during the events of "Revenge of Meta Knight" Axe Knight needed a new spot to hide the chest and since King Dedede still owed Meta Knight a favor from the time he helped him during "Kirby's Adventure" the crew temporarily stored their stuff at Castle Dedede. Big mistake.

This brings us to the events of "Squeak Squad", where the chest was stolen. King Dedede did put up a bit of a fight but ultimately didn't seem to care too much that the chest went missing. Because it wasn't actually his. He informed Meta Knight and went back to training for his own revenge on Kirby.

Meta Knight, however, tried all he could to get the chest back. After all one of his own men insisted it was important.

If Dark Nebula was to return to the Underworld, it'd be annoying. So annoying that some of the inhabitants might feel compelled to move somewhere else. Such as Necrodeus.

Sun and Moon x OC! Animatronic

The OC is going to be an animatronic based on a butterfly, specifically Morpho (I searched that up on google shush) and that you got robotic butterflies fluttering around you (Kinda like Minireenas with Ballora) Also, check at the ending to see what the numbers in the HC are for. I still don’t got a name for the OC help-

Hope y’all enjoy the HC! I swear I put a bit of effort into this.

- Sun is always excited to see you when you and your robotic butterflies visits him

- it got to the point where you or him visit each other everyday that the workers can’t separate the two of you

- on some special events by the PizzaPlex, both of you get a collab together which gets the most visited by children in his Daycare because of how not only they’re meeting Sun, they’re also meeting you with your butterflies

- One time: a kid asked you both if you two were “married” which got both of you to short circuited, only for you to step in seconds later that you tell the kid that both of you are not married while Sun is looking away, with his hands covering his permanent smile. Indicating he’s blushing (it might not be possible to his blush but shut up, let me have this once 😭)

- for special events of you two having a collab, there’s always going to be a mini game where children are divided by multiple groups and there are butterflies spread throughout the daycare. The goal is for a certain group to capture the most butterflies. Of course, Sun joins in one of the groups but he has a specific rule that if he catches a butterfly, he gets to have a 5 or 10 seconds cooldown so that he won’t caught most of the butterflies and that children can actually do most of the work. one time, that rule wasn’t applied that it got to him capturing most of your butterflies that you have to put him on the timeout corner

- In private moments, one of your butterflies decides to be mischievous by telling Sun on how you vent to your butterflies when your alone (1). You vent to them on how you miss Sun sm that you can’t wait to see him when the PizzaPlex is closed. Which gets you to blush in embarrassment and try to swat the mischievous butterfly away from Sun but it’s too late, he now knows and now he’s gonna keep teasing you about it.

- In Sun’s perspective, he finds you alluring. The way you get along with kids just like him, the way that your butterflies swarms around you looks so captivating. That he can’t help falling in love with you. He thought that you bewitch him with your beauty and tbh, he doesn’t mind that (i love him 🥺)

- Now, let’s get to Moon. Tbh, you didn’t know about him until you met Sun (2). When he finally met you, he knew you from Sun’s perspective (3) but he wanted to know you himself.

- Of course, you were a bit terrified to see Sun’s alternate self but your going to put your foot down and show Moon on who’s the boss.. until he grabbed one of your butterflies and jokingly threatened you by pulling both of its wings off. Of course, with you being close to your babies, you decided to not pursue him anymore by staying in place. Which gets Moon amused by your choice and lets it go?? Of course, once your butterfly was freed, it flies towards you and hides behind your back, afraid of what just happened.

- That got you to lower your guard down a bit towards him and now, you two have a… somewhat decent relationship with each other.

- When Moon patrols the PizzaPlex, he sometimes visit you either through your room or your sanctuary, depending on where you’re at.

1) I’m not so sure yet on how those robotic butterflies work. I thought of making them speak like Gemini from fairytail just by saying “Piri Piri” but with a more squeaky tone.

2) I might add a bit more context to that in a next HC but not 100% yet.

3) I HC that Moon can see Sun’s perspective considering they’re both the same robot but he can’t speak verbally unless the lights go out. He can speak to Sun internally tho.

Can/how does Morpho communicate in butterfly form?

When Morpho’s in her butterfly form, she’s basically just. A butterfly. So she can’t verbally communicate, but she can do things like flutter around important objects or get people to chase after her and lead them to important places. Unfortunately nobody she tries to communicate with understands her when she tries to do anything more complex like spelling/drawing out letters…but boy has she tried.

- The easiest way to explain their dynamic is the classic malewife girlboss combo. I’m pretty sure it’s obvious who’s who.

- Galacta is the biggest fan of his wife! Hence all the little things like the butterfly he painted on his chest plate. He absolutely adores her to no end and when around others, he never misses the opportunity to talk about how cool and awesome Morpho is.

- He’s very sappy and obvious with his affection whereas Morpho is a bit more reserved, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be ridiculously cheesy and gooey and sweet with each other (:

- Galacta shows his affection a lot through gifts and love letters and stuff. He can’t bear the thought of being useless so he goes above and beyond and probably tries a little too hard to try and impress Morpho.

- Morpho absolutely adores this, and shows her affection mostly through actions and words. She’s always knows what to say when Galacta’s upset and is the best at cheering him up.

- Galacta is really fluffy so he gives fantastic hugs. Morpho loves this and often lurks in his arms or wings. They’re very soft. She likes soft things.

- Despite being hardened warriors, both of them really like soft and cute things.

- Galacta is quick to follow his heart, where Morpho is quick to follow her head. Instead of butting heads though, they make a scarily competent team because of this.

- Galacta is REALLY easy to read, especially for Morpho. This means that it’s very hard for Galacta to surprise her or lie to her, so overall both of them are really really open with each other.

- They just. Love to be with each other? They get each other like nobody else, and feel complete just knowing the other is out there somewhere thinking of them. Absolute power couple. They can survive anything.

- Speaking of power couple…before Galacta’s possession, if they would ever fight together, he’d play the defensive role and Morpho would be on the offense. They very quickly learned how to fight together since they’re already so in sync with each other. You really REALLY don’t want to be fighting these two when they’re teamed up.

- I have a few more specific hcs that mostly apply to them after their whole arc is resolved….

- Galacta bakes a lot of sweets for them…. He also loves to knit things for his little family.

- Both of them have their own crafts that they like doing…since Morpho’s butterfly based, she really likes working with silk. I like the idea that at some point they just set up a little shop and sell things that they make…sometimes it’s just their own things and sometimes it’s crafts they make together.

- After the events of the Galactic Crisis, they both want to just. Settle down with each other and live in a nice cozy little area and have their family in peace while helping out where they can. And because I love them so much that’s exactly what happens (:

Infinity Train Headcanon part 2

I'm back with more Infinity Train headcanons this time with the denizens! Like the first one I’m only doing five per character so it won’t too long. Here's a link to the first one , enjoy!

One-One

The Snow Car is his favorite car because he met Tulip there (also he was stuck there for 30 years). But from the evidence from the Snow Car clip he maybe slowly forgetting events only for small things (like the rock) to remind him of said events.

One-One can't eat, but if he did his favorite foods would be popcorn & soda (Movie Theater Car) and chocolate bars ( Minecart Car), but he would hate coconut (again Minecart Car).

One-One will slowly realize that denizens have their own desires besides helping passengers (ex. Lake) and if they desire to leave the train he will assist them.

When he was One, he was very cold and didn't bother explaining how the train worked to passengers (luckily denizens like, Kez, explained how things went). After, Tulip left he made the videos to help explain what the passengers must do to get home. This both got passengers off the train quicker and saved many lives.

The reason he was stuck in the Snow Car for so long was because: both passengers and denizens didn't notice him in the snow or on the snowman (woman or person) body, he was out exploring the car, or he was to busy collecting junk for his secret stash. Bonus: Amelia purposely put him on the snowman (woman or person) body to humiliate One!

The Cat

As great a business woman she is The Cat doesn't think things through ex: turning Ryan, Min-Gi and Kez to the bug police, never going back for Simon, and trying to trap Tulip in her memories. She did help Kez after realizing the Old West Car denizens were going to execute Min-Gi and Ryan for something so stupid as a tea stain, she believed that the ghom killed Simon and never looked back (she deeply regrets that now), the Conductor just wanted One-One not Tulip, after Tulip escaped and the Conductor wanted her as well The Cat realized how badly she messed up.

I doubt she's one of the first, but The Cat is one of the oldest denizens on the train ex: knew there was another conductor before Amelia came, hasn't taken a vacation in 150, said the Chat Chalet Car has been dry for centuries.

The Cat owns many businesses and cars ex: The Cat's Car, Le Chat Chalet Car, The Lucky Cat Car, the doughnut-holer business, the tea shoppe in the Old West Car, the list goes on!

I don't think The Cat knew the Apex were wheeling denizens. She knew they were ruining cars ( especially hers), but had no clue about the deaths.

The Cat's hoarding is to cope with her insecurities and failures. When, she finds out about Simon's death her collection will only get worse.

Randall

Randall makes a fortune out of the doughnut-holers, but the fortune is mainly trash. His main types of payment are flowers and gum.

I think Randall is unable to be killed. From what was shown in Le Chat Chalet Car he can be frozen or boiled (and eaten) and still be alive. The dude's immortal!

The Cat always brings Randall with her just incase she needs a hand in one of her money making schemes. Mainly, because she knows good and well that both passengers and denizens are indifferent towards her due to past schemes, but everyone loves Randall.

When, The Cat and Frank leave Le Chat Chalet Car, Randall (or a part of him) askes to stay because of his love of the snow. The Cat allows it, but tells Randall to make sure if passengers or denizens come to the chalet they have to pay to stay. too bad the payments are usually gum, flowers, rocks, and other useless things. But, ever once and awhile Randall gets paid money, CDs, jewelry, and other shiny trinkets.

Continuing with the last headcanon - Randall takes good care of the chalet when The Cat is away! He makes sure the pantry is stocked with food and non-Randall water, invites guest to snowball fights, and gives them doughnut- holers as guest gifts. Because of Randall the Car becomes popular, and why The Cat allows him to keep it open.

Atticus

After hearing the news of what the Apex did to the Unfinished Car, Atticus has reached out to other cars to stop the Apex so they wouldn't damage passenger/denizen relationships.

Atticus was the runt of his litter and abandoned at a young age. Atticus becoming king is the classic orphan-becomes-king story.

Atticus does check-up on One-One when he gets the chance. The two do talk about Tulip and how they miss her.

Atticus created a tulip field (mainly orange and yellow) in honor of Tulip for saving Corginina and returning One-One as conductor.

Stops calling Irwin, 'Ugly Irwin', and encourages the other corgis to stop it too. Because, it's rude to make fun of someone's appearance.

Alan Dracula

One created Alan Dracula to be unpredictable on purpose. For passengers who expect something to happen to realize nothing is set in stone. Now, One-One can't even predict what Alan Dracula will do next.

Alan Dracula was in The Party Car with Min-Gi, Ryan, and Kez (based on the deleted scene) and was the only partygoer to hear Ryan and Min's song.

Alan Dracula still has the sunglasses Jesse gave him.

Seeing as Alan Dracula was born before Amelia took over the train he is most likely 30+ years old at best.

Lake and Jesse were the only passengers that stayed with Alan Dracula the longest since few understood him and his love of grass.

Tuba

All of Tuba's children are named after brass instruments. We know about Bugle, but I think the others would be named: Trumpet, French Horn, and Trombone.

Tuba's satchel was a gift from her late husband.

Tuba's favorite food is pineapple since she ate a lot in the Jungle Car episode.

Tuba sang a ton of lullabies for her children and Hazel. The most popular one was the one sung in the show.

Once, Hazel comes to Earth she'll make a grave for Tuba to remember her by. The rest of the Infinity Train passengers (Tulip, Lake, Jesse, Grace, Min-Gi, Ryan, Amelia, One-One- I'm gonna end it here, but it's the rest of the denizens) come to show their support.

Kez

After what happened in the Art Gallery Car, Kez leaves signs and directions to allow the passengers and denizens to solve the puzzle easily. But each time she returns the signs go missing or destroyed!

After, making things up to the denizens she'd angered Kez became friends with them minus Judge Morpho. Kez doesn't focus on that really since she has friends now.

Sometime after Ryan and Min-Gi left, Kez and Morgan decided to make a lounge area that dedicates Jeremy, Ryan, and Min-Gi.

Kez spent a year away from Morgan after what happened to Jeremy. That gave her enough time to travel other cars, and (accidently) caused a lot of damage.

Kez rarely leaves Morgan now since they made up, the two really missed each other. When, Kez does leave it's usual for a couple of hours at best.

Day three of Operation Dubai, June 8, 2009

Sometime in the Early Morning

I don’t know how I got here, how this happened, how long it had been, but I knew Clint and Nat were going to come for me. This operation was supposed to be a simple in-and-out mission, day one was figure out rotations, day two was prep and day three was get the drive and get the hell out of India.

Fury depended on this flashdrive getting back into SHIELD’s hands, as it was classified on everyone to ever even speak to an agent. That’s why he sent his three best agents to Dubai, though he knew the three of us didn’t do a mission without the others. Honestly, one person should have been able to do it. We didn’t account for HYDRA to bring the Winter Soldier in to stop us.

So here I was, on the third day, trapped in some cement cell. I heard my door clang open, and saw The Winter Soldier with two people who looked like doctors. I tried teleporting out of the cell, but a device was placed inside the handcuffs I was in to limit, and make trying to use my abilities painful.

The men grabbed me, and I fought back until a needle was placed into my neck, making me pass out. I woke up on a table in a room that was completely white, in a hospital gown. My nether-regions were extremely sore, I was in a pool of my own blood. I’d been raped, my virginity had been taken. They stripped me of my SHIELD uniform, and violated my body. I started to silently cry when a man walked in.

“Ah, Darling, you’re awake,” He said with the most evil smirk I’d ever seen. “Boys, It’s time to have fun with our plaything.” Three others came in, and this time I was awake and aware, but I was tied down so I couldn’t fight back. I sobbed the entire time.

After the four men were done with me, I was thrown back into the same cell.

The same thing happened for the next two? Three? days. Multiple times a day, multiple men, it always hurts.

Unknown Amount of Days Later, 10:30 AM

On what I assumed was the fourth day, there was a massive commotion right at the end of the first “session” of the day. I heard agents yelling to find me, and two voices stood out the most. I was in the room where they took me to hurt me, and one man was dead set on finishing. I started screaming for Clint and Nat.

“HAWKEYE. WIDOW. IN HERE!” I screamed over and over again as he thrusted into me, trying to get me to shut up.

After not even thirty seconds of screaming, the man who was using me fell limp, and I looked up to see an arrow sticking out of the base of his neck. I was crying before, but it turned to full on sobs as my partners untied me. Clint picked me up bridal style and walked me out to the quinjet.

He kept me in his arms, apologizing and giving me forehead kisses the whole ride back to the Triskelion. When we got there he instantly took me to the medbay. He laid me on the table, and turned to walk out, ‘Can you send Nat in here?” I asked with a raspy voice. The doctor was a male, and at the moment there were only four men I’d trust to be alone with.

Natasha walked in, and instantly grabbed my hand, “I’m so sorry Liza. We should have covered you better, we should have seen--”

I cut her off, “Nat, it’s okay. No one saw him. I’m just glad it was me, not you.” It physically hurt to sit up, so I casted an illusion to give her a hug. “You’re one of my best friends Nat. I love you and never in a million years would I blame you.”

She hugged me back, very tight. The doctor gave me some medications to take, a complete Rape Kit, a few more tests, then left us to get me dressed. Nat helped me get on a pair of sweats and one of Clint’s shirts.

4:00 PM

I walked out of my room and saw my dad, Pepper, Clint, Fury and Happy all waiting for me, not noticing I’d come out. I snickered, “Would you look at that, the only four men I’m okay being alone with, and the best mother figure to live.”

Before I knew it, I was in my father’s arms. They all had been crying, but I could tell he took the news of what they did to me the worst. We just stood there in a hug for what seemed like forever. “I missed you Dad.” I said into his shoulder.

“I missed you too sweetheart.” He said as he let me go, so I could give everyone else a hug.

When I had finally got to Nick, I really looked at him for the first time. I saw the tears in his eye, “Don’t go soft on me Uncle Nick.” He chuckled at the name I called him since I met him oh so many years ago and pulled me into a bear hug. “I swear if you apologize to me, I’ll leave SHIELD.” I tended to use humor to cope with the traumatic events that just happened.

June 24, 2010, 6 AM

I woke up early to train. It had been just over a year, and I was finally cleared for field work again. I walked into the training rooms and saw my two favorite people. I guess the trio reunites in training today.

“Hawkeye, Widow.” I greeted them, using their code names as they hadn’t seen me yet. The pair whipped around, surprised to see me in a public training area, seeing as I spent the last year only training in private. I didn’t want to see people as a “benched agent” even though I knew people wouldn’t judge why I was benched.

“Morpho. What brings you here?” Nat asked me as they approached, keeping formality in front of the few new agents that were in the room with us.

“Well, Fury said I could tell you the news, and I wanted to train.” I smirked and gave them both quick hugs, slightly blushing at the hug I shared with Clint. We'd gotten so close over the last year and about two months ago, I realized I was falling in love with him, but I couldn’t tell him. There’s no way he’d feel the same.

“What news? Is it good or bad?” Clint asked me while he pulled away from the hug, slightly concerned.

“I’m officially cleared for field work!” I said, and instantly was attacked in a huge bear hug with two master assassins.

6:00 PM

After a long day of training, paperwork and eventually dinner, Clint, Nat and I all decided to go out to celebrate me being cleared.

We went to a karaoke bar, and oddly enough, Clint’s got some decent pipes considering he’s mostly deaf. We drank, not too much, but enough to loosen up. I hadn’t gone in public much since Dubai, and that was hard, considering a Stark had fallen off the face of the earth. I was the news for about two months, but eventually it all faded out luckily.

11:00 PM

Our night was so fun, we ended it by walking Natasha back to her apartment. Clint and I then caught a cab to the Triskelion, as we both lived in the barracks due to not moving out, even though we could the second we became level 5 agents, we both were level 7, so we got nicer rooms than most people.

Over the past year, Clint and I had set up a system, as our rooms were next to each other, we had baby monitors in case I had a nightmare and needed someone to wake me up to calm me down. Needless to say, I had a nightmare tonight. A bad one.

Clint came running into my room, as I was thrashing around, screaming and crying. He gently shook me awake, got me to look him in the eye and I started to be able to breathe. He sat down next to me on my bed, once I calmed down enough he got up to leave and go back to bed seeing it was two in the morning.

“Clint, wait,” I said in the smallest voice ever. “Please stay, at least til I fall asleep.” He turned and came to lay next to me. I fell asleep on his chest, listening to his heartbeat while he drew small circles on my back.

CLINT’S POV

Liza had fallen asleep and I really debated on not leaving. She looked so beautiful, peaceful even. I just wish I could tell her how I felt, that I was undeniably in love with Liza Maria Stark.

I laid there for a little bit, but eventually slipped out and back into my room. I really didn’t want Natasha or Fury seeing us in the same bed, and knowing my luck, tomorrow morning would be one where one of them comes and checks on her.

I fell asleep that night wishing she was in my arms, but there was no way she’d ever love someone like me. I was 15 years older than her.

Part 1: Rare Plants Reserve – “The Future of the Reserve”

Rainforest Reserve

The train arrived at the final stop of the trip – the rainforest reserve.

After solving the indigenous peoples’ issue, the repressive troubles in my heart disappeared without a trace.

I could finally immerse myself, body and mind, into the tranquil atmosphere of the rainforest and enjoy the comforting satisfaction brought by the nature’s sceneries.

Lu Jinghe: This section of rainforest is a natural scenery area. Ahead is the rare animal exhibition and the rainforest survey base.

Lu Jinghe: They’ve collected a little less in here than in the actual Imana Rainforest Natural Reserve that’s in planning…

Lu Jinghe: But there are over 400 rare plants here, and the degree of resource abundance isn’t inferior to Imana Rainforest at all.

Lu Jinghe strolled as he introduced me to the situation in the reserve to me, seeming to be very familiar with this place.

INTERROGATION START

MC: Was the construction of this reserve also funded by Pax?

Lu Jinghe: Yeah, construction finished around 6-7 years ago.

Lu Jinghe: Back then, Pax and Tambuyani had just reached a cooperative agreement, so we wanted to try something new.

Lu Jinghe: Because it was built early, when Tambuyani was planning trip routes, they made this place a key scenic location.

MC: So that’s how it was.

I originally thought that Pax had invested in a nature reserve project due to momentary interest. I didn’t think that they’d prepared for this early on.

It seemed like, in upcoming years, Pax would be making major movements in nature conservation and rainforest development projects.

Important Difference

MC: Right! You came this time for the Imana Rainforest natural reserve project, which also means…

MC: Pax is investing into two rainforest reserve projects in Tambuyani at the same time?

Lu Jinghe: Mhmm, although the positioning of the Tambuyani project isn’t really the same as this one.

Lu Jinghe: The Imana Rainforest nature reserve will focus on tourism in the future, and it will be open to the whole world.

Lu Jinghe: The reserve here… will focus on academic studies and research surveying.

Lu Jinghe: With this distinction, it’ll be more beneficial for future plans and developments.

Future Plans

MC: Little CEO Lu, could you tell me about the future developmental plans for the nature reserve?

Lu Jinghe: Originally, I couldn’t, since they’re trade secrets. Although…

Lu Jinghe: Because the one who’s asking is you, I can tell you about a little.

Lu Jinghe: The plan is… I’m going to build this place into the best nature reserve in the world.

MC: This sounds… more like a goal, rather than a plan.

Lu Jinghe: A goal can be determined in advance. A detailed plan needs to be negotiated more with the relevant people in Tambuyani, and at this stage, it’s still very hard to determine it.

Lu Jinghe: So, all I can tell you right now is this. I’m sure that it’ll become as I imagined in the future.

MC: Then I’ll hope for the early realization of your goals in advance.

Lu Jinghe: It will.

Following Lu Jinghe’s steps, we walked from the nature scenery area to the rainforest program area.

Staff: Hello, welcome to the rainforest program area.

Lu Jinghe: See, someone specialized came.

As soon as Lu Jinghe saw the staff member, he winked at me.

Lu Jinghe: MC, you can now ask the question you just had.

Did he take me here to specifically find a staff member answer my question?

I actually just wanted to tease him a little earlier… I didn’t think he would take it seriously.

MC: Hello, I’m a little curious about the plants and animals in the rainforest. Could you give a slight introduction for those?

Staff: Of course, what would you like to know?

INTERROGATION START

Butterflies

MC: On the tree trunks, are those… blue morpho butterflies?

When I walked into the rainforest survey area, I’d already become aware of those few beautiful, blue butterflies on the tree trunks.

I finally had the chance to ask about them.

Staff: Yes, these are called great blue morpho butterflies. They’re one of the butterflies often found in the rainforest.

MC: They’re so beautiful. Lu Jinghe, look, those butterflies’ wings look like they’re glittering in the sun.

Lu Jinghe: This is probably why they’re called flashing butterflies.[1]

Staff: The beautiful shape of the great blue morpho butterfly is also one of the reasons their survival is threatened.

Staff: In the past, when the reserve hadn’t been built yet, there were lots of people trying to catch them without restraint to sell them.

Staff: For a very long time, you basically could not see this beautiful species of butterfly in the rainforest.

MC: Good thing the nature reserve was built…

 [1] The Chinese name for these butterflies translates literally to blue-flashing butterflies (蓝闪蝶, lan shan die).

Animals

MC: Right, when I came, I saw some monkeys with very small bodies.

MC: Look…

I opened the photos I’d saved on my phone and showed it to the staff worker.

There were a few little black monkeys, sitting in a row on the tree branches, their round eyes looking curiously at the humans who were exploring the rainforest.

Staff: Oh, these are the spider monkeys that are characteristic to our rainforest reserve.

MC: Why are they called spider monkeys? They don’t look like spiders at all.

Staff: This species of monkey has a small build, their limbs are long, and their movements when climbing up tree are very similar to the large spiders in the tropics, so they’re called spider monkeys.

MC: Compared to spiders, little monkeys are cuter…

Staff: Though they look cute and endearing, these spider monkeys are very timid, and they tend to attack.

Staff: If you want to observe spider monkeys, you absolutely must not get too close.

MC: Mhmm, it’s better to maintain some distance from wild animals.

Beautiful Plants

MC: I’ve heard that there are particularly beautiful flowers blooming in the rainforest. Could you tell us about them?

Staff: Hmm, most of the flowers in the rainforest are brightly-coloured. As for relatively beautiful ones…

Staff: I feel that the pygmy water lily is the most beautiful.

MC: Could I see one now?

Staff: The pygmy water lily is a precious lotus flower. Its petals are blueish-purple, and it looks incredibly gorgeous.

Staff: Although… it blooms annually in the summer, and it only blooms for seven days. I won’t be able to show it to you this time.

MC: (What a pity. The next time I get the chance, I really have to come see it personally.)

Time slowly passed, but it seemed like the things I wanted to know kept slowly increasing.

The staff worker enthusiastically and patiently explained for me, and the more I listened, the more fascinated I grew.

I didn’t know how many questions I asked, and I didn’t know how long I spent listening to the staff worker talk about the fantastic stories of the rainforest.

I felt like this rainforest, this land, and too many things were waiting for us to explore them, and to search for them.

 Part 6: Bright-eyed Enthusiasm

Rainforest Reserve

After bidding farewell with the rainforest program area’s staff member, Lu Jinghe mysteriously took me toward the depths of the forest.

The lush foliage gradually cut off the surrounding sounds…

In the tranquility, I suddenly felt like only the sounds of my and Lu Jinghe’s footsteps were left in the world.

MC: Where are we going?

Lu Jinghe: The reserve in the depths of the rainforest.

MC: Huh, isn’t this area the reserve?

Lu Jinghe: This is the reserve that the researchers use for survey research.

Lu Jinghe: While the place where we’re headed right now is the breeding experiment location in the depths of the rainforest. That’s the confidential location in all of the reserve.

Lu Jinghe’s voice sounded like he was presenting a treasure, with a willfully excited and proud feeling.

Based on my understanding of him, there must be some surprise awaiting me in the reserve he was talking about.

Thinking about this, my excitement and expectation were kindled as well.

MC: I’m kinda looking forward to it!

As we walked into the depths of the forest, like a shielding curtain, the shrubbery and the foliage of the trees were slowly pulled apart…

The true appearance of the breeding experiment reserve reflected in my eyes.

A gorgeously-coloured flower tree bloomed before my eyes, and little lavender and pale pink petals sat between the leaves, like the unfurled wings of a parrot.

Right then, the miracle of nature became reality before my eyes.

Lu Jinghe: Look, this is a real parrot-tail fairy flower. Isn’t it pretty?

MC: Just like how it’s named, it really is fairylike.

I carefully maintained a distance as I looked all over the parrot-tail fairy flower, unwilling to miss even a single detail.

Lu Jinghe: Too bad there’s only this one treasure, and you can only get this one glimpse.

Lu Jinghe: After the growing techniques mature… I want to try having it “come” out the rainforest, so more people can see it.

Lu Jinghe: At that time, there will definitely also be more people who come in to see the sceneries inside the rainforest.

With the abundant resource treasures contained in the rainforest, for the people of the past, most of its use remained at the stage of resource plundering.

While what Lu Jinghe wanted to do was exactly the opposite…

He hoped that people from the outside would come in the learn about this place, to invest more riches to spur on the treasures lying undiscovered on this land.

His thoughts were full of creativity, and often brought surprises. Perhaps this was one of Lu Jinghe’s personal charms.

MC: Could I take a few pictures to commemorate this?

Lu Jinghe: You can – you can take as many as you want.

I held up my camera, starting to adjust the angle of the viewfinder.

To begin with, it was very hard to focus in the dim lighting in the rainforest, and Lu Jinghe just had to sidle up and cause trouble.

MC: Don’t move… you’re blocking the light.

Lu Jinghe: Alright, I won’t disturb you. I’m going to take photos on the other side.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Lu Jinghe walk to the other side of the flower tree as he spoke. He was holding something in his hand, pointing it at me…

Want to sneak a picture of me? Hah, as if I’ll let you get away with it.

I stood up quickly, pointing the lens in my hand at Lu Jinghe before he could react.

MC: Lu Jinghe, smile!

The slight confusion and shock of the handsome young man, who was holding a camera and trying to take a picture, was captured in the photo.

MC: Haha, this is a pretty good photo. I’ve got to hide it away.

Lu Jinghe: What photo did you take?

Lu Jinghe wound around the bunches of flowers and looked at the photo I’d taken, tilting his head.

MC: Look, I just happened to take a picture of your “crime evidence” when you wanted to sneak a picture of me.

Lu Jinghe: … Jiejie, you’re shameless!

Lu Jinghe: What crime evidence – it’s obviously you sneaking pictures of me, alright?

MC: Not at all, I was seizing the opportunity.

Lu Jinghe: I don’t care, I’m taking another one!

Lu Jinghe snatched the camera in my hands, and with the parrot-tail fairy flower tree separating us, he stood at a place farther away from me.

Lu Jinghe: Look at the lens.

Separated by the flower tree, he waved the camera at me, repeating the words I’d just said to him.

Lu Jinghe: MC, smile.

Lu Jinghe: … 1, 2, 3, cheese!

MC: Cheese!

His enthusiastic gaze focused on me, the dazzling light in his clear eyes drawing me to him.

Struck in the heart by the halo of this moment, he and I laughed together.

Ever since the Roll-out came out, I’ve been in love with the butterflies, like many fellow Reylos, and couldn’t wait for them to show up in the fics. My headcanon is that the butterflies are a symbol of the love between father and son, so tragically broken apart (by cruel writers). I love this little fic. It makes me happy. It gives me closure and hope.

Several years later, Palpatine's return prompts the Resistance to seek Rey out. They are shocked to find her peacefully living with very much alive Kylo in a cute cottage on an outer rim planet.”

In sharp contrast to the latter, this is mostly plot driven. I wanted to write about them falling in love gradually, facing who they really are and what happened in canon (I wrote this before TROS came out so some of my lines sound kinda funny now). Also, Leia and Ben have a chance to make things right here, something that will forever be missing in my heart.

This is my most successful fic. I loved the idea of a character being so sure of something and then be proven wrong. It’s basically two dumb virgins figuring it all out, connecting deeply in the process. And I could never have a fic where Rey is a passive onlooker in her own life. She knows what she wants and she’s going to get it.

Rusty Venture’s Timeline (SPOILERS!)

This is an updated list of Rusty’s life and timeline up to the beginning point of the show starting. The new dates we’ve been given from Season 7 and the new art book are added here but some dates are conflicting with others due to the nature of the information we’ve been given. Beware of spoilers, obviously, if you haven’t watched recent episodes or read the book yet!

Rusty is born (Probably 1964)

Jonas Sr. at some point sleeps with Mz. Quymn and she has a daughter, Tara Quymn.

As a child, Rusty was kidnapped a lot for ransom and Jonas Sr. and Team Venture have to come and save him. So much so that Jonas Venture Sr puts a tracking device in one of his molars, unbeknownst to Rusty. We know that he did not start accompanying his father and Team Venture on adventures until he was 3 years old (1967) (Now Museum Now You Don’t, Past Tense)

The Monarch is born (1967) (Arrears In Science)

Rusty is shipwrecked on an island and went to Spanakopita for the first time (Spanakopita!) Set sometime during Jackie Onassis’ wedding, around Oct 20, 1968. Age 4

At some point Rusty meets Hector Molina and they become good friends. Hector even comes to live with them for a bit(?) (Self Medication)

At some point, The Monarch and Rusty meet each other as children (S.P.H.I.N.X. Rising) We know this occurs after the statue was built and placed on the compound’s front lawn and prior to The Monarch’s father and mother dying in a plane crash since they were present at the time. This puts their rough ages as Rusty at probably 7 and The Monarch at 4. 

When Rusty was 8 years old, the Action Man played a prank on him by throwing a fake grenade at him. When his dog, Scamp 3, ran over to it, Rusty panicked and threw himself on top of it to save his dog’s life, and in turn became injured by it piercing his kidney. He had at this point, lost two previous pet “Scamps”, which he chose to continue to name the same way each time. The original Scamp was sent into space by Jonas years before. 1972

Jonas Sr. begins having multiple “key” parties at the compound and Rusty and Tara spend a lot of time together when he is age 10 (1974) before something separates them for more than 20 years. (Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman)

Unknown date - Rusty spends many nights awakened by the Action Man holding an empty gun to his head.

When Rusty was ten years old, he wrote a letter to The Herculoids, calling them hippies for not fighting in Vietnam. (Twenty Years To Midnight) 1974

Also sometime around the age of 10, Jonas is building Gargantua I and Rusty is seen in filmstrips helping him. (Careers In Science) 1974

The Monarch’s father, The Blue Morpho, died in a plane crash when he was 8 years old (1976) just a few months out from his September birthday, when he would turn 9 (Arrears In Science)

Jonas rescues The Blue Morpho from the plane crash site and turns him into Venturion (September 30th, 1976) (Arrears In Science)

June 23, 1977 (at age 11) Rusty is attacked by the Bicentennial Man/Venturion, the robot Jonas has been working on as a product of Venture Industries, who tries to kill him by choking him to death. Rusty begins having many recurring nightmares about this event. Venturion is destroyed by Kano, then later stolen by Dr. Z. He then went off the grid for a year, and returned as Vendata later on in 1977. (Bot Seeks Bot, Arrears In Science)

Rusty has a prom at the Venture Compound, graduates from his learning bed and then goes to college all at age 17. (1982) He remained at college for an unknown number of years until learning of the news that Jonas Sr died on Gargantua I on April 9th, 1987. (Now Museum Now You Don’t, Past Tense, Arrears In Science)

The day that his father, Jonas Sr., dies Rusty immediately leaves college (drops out) and heads back to Spanakopita for the first time since he was a kid (about 20 years later). Jonas dies on Gargantua I on April 9th, 1987 so Rusty dropped out of college in 1987. (Arrears In Science) Rusty goes back to Spanakopita every year around the same time and brags he hasn’t missed a Spanakopita in “20 years”. (Past Tense, Spanakopita!) Rusty is complaining that his roommate is a freshman so he has to be at least a year above freshman year. Rusty says that he went to State University “in the 80′s”, (Pomp and Circuitry) Rusty says he had been friends with Mike for more than a year. He also mentions Mike was obsessed with Coco from Fame the year before, meaning that they can’t have attended college prior to 1980. Rusty is most likely referring to the T.V. show and not the movie Fame so this places them in their freshman year between 1982 to 1983. We also know that Rusty was < 24 in college due to his statement indicating that he didn’t have sex in college, until after he left college. (Past Tense)

The Monarch, having attended college at the same time as Rusty and Brock, most likely begins his life long arching due to some incident happening in college which Rusty does not or can not remember. He tries to blow Rusty up with a bomb while he is in the science lab but ends up only succeeding in blowing off his lab partner Underbeit’s jaw. Underbeit still blames Rusty to this day due to the fact that Rusty had skipped class that day due to his father’s death and his leaving college. April 9th, 1987 (The Invisible Hand of Fate, Arrears In Science)

Rusty then takes over Venture Industries as the sole heir 1987. He inherited his father’s fortune and went to Little Italy in New York to purchase a very expensive speedsuit, “THE AMBASCIATORE”, from Ezio. He never went back for it once it was completed, until after he inherited J.J.’s fortune about 20 years later. (Hostile Makeover) This is most likely due to his having to return to State University once flush with his inheritance and pay for the damages to the science wing. Finding that he has run out of most of the money already, he therefore couldn’t return to pay for and pick up the speedsuit from Ezio, instead returning home to try to be a super scientist and make money.

Rusty gets a bodyguard assigned to him by the O.S.I., Myra. This may be simply due to The Monarch’s constant threats and attacks. (The Invisible Hand of Fate, Shadowman 9: In the Cradle of Destiny, I Know Why The Caged Bird Kills) 

The Monarch begins routinely attacking Rusty now that they are out of college but this appears to be a solo act of his and his alone. His hostility seems to have only grown since college since whatever happened between them happened in college. Myra is always there however thwarting his attacks. (The Invisible Hand Of Fate)

Rusty loses his virginity at age 24 presumably with the boy’s true mother (not Myra) as Rusty uses condoms when he has sex but not back then. (Past Tense, Powerless In The Face Of Death) Probably in 1988

The boys are born sometime afterward by some unnamed mother, who is not Myra.

Rusty later has sex with his bodyguard, Myra (I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings)

Myra gets arrested eventually when the boys are only about a year old and still in diapers and she gets taken away by the O.S.I. Brock becomes their bodyguard, assigned as a punishment by the O.S.I. (The Invisible Hand of Fate) Rusty meets Billy Quizboy Whalen when he is 16 years old. (1989)This is the first time, having been introduced by Pete White, his former college friend. Billy goes on to know him for the next 20+ years, maintaining a close friendship. (Are You There God? It’s Me Dean)

Brock becomes Rusty and the boys’ bodyguard in the late 80's. (The Invisible Hand of Fate, Go Team Venture Art Book)

Unknown - Rusty shows Brock the clones that he has made of his sons (Perchance To Dean, Go Team Venture Art Book). They are still babies at this point and alive and well as Rusty tells him it takes pressure off of Brock having to bodyguard them. He shows him because, as Rusty tells him, he is going to be his new bodyguard so we can assume it was probably the day Brock started. Their hairstyles and clothing indicate late 1980′s

About a year(?) later Rusty either dates or just sleeps with Nikki Fictel and she has Dermott (Everybody Comes to Hank’s) so we know the boys are older than Dermott technically if not for all their deaths and rebirths and that Brock was already the Venture’s bodyguard during the time that Rusty is sleeping with Nikki (Perchance to Dean). Dermott is now however the exact same age as Hank and Dean (due to their constant dying and rebirths). We learn from the special that Dermott is seventeen, the same age as Hank and Dean (From The Ladle To The Grave).

Sheila tells The Monarch that they have been arching Rusty since “Marky Mark had a funky bunch”, so for a very long time. This would mean they started arching together around 1991. The Monarch had already been arching Rusty alone secretly for a long time.

Gary tells Sergeant Hatred that he has been storming the Venture Compound since the 90′s. If Gary was kidnapped by The Monarch and his henchmen when he was 15 (Home Insecurity) we can assume that The Monarch along with Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and their various henchmen have been arching Rusty at the compound since 1991. (Operation P.R.O.M.)

Unknown - Rusty develops an addiction to using amphetamines/”diet pills” on a routine basis which quickly becomes a problem leading Brock to be the one to watch the boys/be the responsible one more often than not.

Then a lot of time passes and the boys die a lot through various circumstances, the boys die at least 13 times (Powerless in the Face of Death). Brock mentions that Myra had hurt the boys at one point in the past so it is possible that she was responsible for their initial deaths. (I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings)

We then we open with the pilot episode of The Venture Bros (The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay)

I’ve completed this with a bit of speculation on my part for the times plus info pulled from this handy dandy timeline from The Venture Bros Wiki. A lot of info has been pulled from the wonderful @21derful who has been instrumental in nailing down years and dates for this ever present work in progress.

Eventually, the taunting voices outside his dimensional passage gave up trying to get his attention. The only good thing about these trips -- the Henchmaniacs who claimed to serve a Cipher long-dead weren’t able to do much more than taunt him with words that he could block out with the memory of killing the Cipher in question over and over and over.

And by then, he’d reached a portion of the Nightmare Realm that touched against another crawlspace that looked almost like it was under a never-ending sea. He’d passed through this part of the multiverse plenty of times before, but what drew his attention now was a blip on a point right on the border of the crawlspace collisions.

A dimension entry point that hadn’t been there before.

Sixer approached the entry point and pressed his hand against the seemingly dead end. The rounded end flattened slightly as a portal materialized.

“All right. Let’s see if this is the right place....”
