let's talk abt hua cheng and the way his entire *almost* existence relates back to xie lian cuz it's been my current roman empire, his name having the word 'hua' which means 'flower' can be seen as relating to xie lian's god name (the flower crowned martial god), also he's called crimson rain sought flower cuz he was shielding a lone white flower (also represents xie lian) from the blood rain (he can be the said 'flower' in that rain too actually), that red coral pearl on his hair braid ? it belongs to xie lian, that red string tied around his finger, xie lian tied strands of his hair around that finger which represents marriage and ofc the red-string-of-fate soulmate trope, he has xie lian's name tattooed on him in his terrible writing, made an entire city just so his love can come there and rest and build a temple there so he can worship him and remained his only devotee when xl lost everything (that thing abt gods being in existence as long as there is someone to worship them) he gave up on becoming a god cuz then who will be worshipping his god ?? isn't afraid to show his true form to xl which he never did to anyone, destroyed those thirty three gods cuz they ridiculed his gege, took lqq along with him to qi rong's den so he can clear the false accusations even if xl didn't want him to CUZ YOU WILL NAWT BE HATING HIS DIANXIA OVER THINGS HE NEVER DID i mean his entire existence is because xie lian said 'if you can't find any reason to live, make me your reason to live' and oh isn't that level of devotion and love so devastating ?

More Random Headcanons Because I'm Procrastinating Again

Ryan loves rain but hates thunder.

Johnny proposes with his late mother's engagement ring in the future.

All the teens have played DND together before and it was absolute chaos. Barry, who acted as Dungeon Master, was so done with all of them.

Out of the troupe, Johnny and Meena are typically the on call babysitters for the piglets as Johnny lived with them for awhile and Meena has a SafeSitter certification.

Ash hates the feel of felt fabric.

Buster still has a book he borrowed from the library in like elementary school and is honestly too scared to take it back now.

Over school breaks, Gunter would occasionally take Johnny, Meena, and Ash to amusement parks so they can learn to "not be so stressed about stuff all the time". It doesn't work but they have fun anyways.

The first night spent in the Crystal Hotel involved a movie marathon with the three youngest members of the troupe that followed by them running around exploring the hotel like they were little kids.

Gunter is very disappointed that they didn't get to spend more time at the hotel's water park since they had to work so much.

Rosita carries one of each of the youngest three troupe member's favourite candy with her in case they are upset when she sees them.

Nana will occasionally just randomly invite troupe members over for tea. Everyone was terrified the first time they went but she was actually interested in their goals in music and gave them both gifts and pointers. Now, everyone wants to be picked for the invite.

Hobbs and Nana have known each other for over twenty years. They became friends after Nana attended an event Hobbs was working at as a waiter and she later decided to hire him herself cause they were so close.

Elisabeth's wedding dress discovered!... Maybe. Maybe not

Yesterday, and until November 5, the Imperial Carriage Museum at the Schönbrunn put in display a replica of Elisabeth's most elusive gown: her wedding dress. There are no pictures of her on her wedding day, and only the Court members saw her that day. So how did the Museum discovered what the dress looked like?

Well, they didn't. But they have a guess.

In 1989 the Kunsthistorisches Museum acquired from Elisabeth's descendants a train that had belonged to the empress, which allegedly was her wedding train:

The train has been ever since on permanent display in the Imperial Carriage Museum. Until, in 2021, it came to the attention of the Museum's staff this 1857 state portrait of Elisabeth by Joseph Neugebauer, belonging to the Silesian National Museum in the Czech Republic:

The pattern of the train in the portrait is very similar to the pattern of the train of the Museum, which make them think that maybe... this is the dress Elisabeth wore at her wedding. So they used "the latest technology" to recreate the pattern and make a replica of the dress.

Here is the result!

In my opinion, and with all due respect, this replica is awful. The original clearly had layers of tulle with embroidery; the dress in the museum looks flat and unimpressive next to the portrait. The Museum said that since the goal was just to display the train, they just printed the original pattern on a white dress. Which completely undermines the point of exhibiting this dress as "the replica of Sisi's wedding dress!!!", but what do I know.

All that being said, while personally I'm not convinced that this is the dress to begin with (since the trains aren't even identical), I'd be more than happy if this portrait's dress becomes the "canon" Sisi Wedding Dress, because it's a beautiful gown that looks better than all the Sisi media wedding dresses put together.

By month January: 5611 February: 7791 March: 1168 (i just started dating my bf and we had other business to occupy ourselves with) April: 3460 May: 5126 (nice wc considering i had exams for like half the month) June: 6468 (again nice, because exams and thesis presentation) July: 6609 August: 7240 September: 8169 (the most productive. i still had a will to live) October: 5883 November: 475 (depression kicking in yea) December: 0 (depression intensifies)

overall: i didn't hit my goal, but i'm still pretty pleased with my progress. it was a rather productive writing year and i had a lot of fun and only started one new story, which is remarkable
