As someone who's been a Team Starkid fan since the beginning, since 2009... do the young fans who only know hatchetfield know the old lore?? Do you know about crying in the choir room?? Do you know the door gag? Do you know Liam's got a phone call? Do you know about the iconic accidental sing along SanFran Con appearance? This isn't me being elitist or anything, I genuinely want to know! I just feel so very much older than all of you, all the time. Does anyone remember Tanya and her gay little blonde bob???

pete really wasn't kidding when he said he wanted stardust to be the start of a new trilogy that encompassed their entire past but also was the start of something new was he
this is a DRASTICALLY different band on that stage compared to only a few months ago. the fact that GINASFS is a comforting and familiar friend now. the fact that they can pull songs like w.a.m.s. and XO out for the first time in years or EVER and they have such fun and confidence doing it.
it's so easy for bands to plateau creatively and become unable to grow: the opposite has just happened here. pete said in the RATS podcast last week that having the 8 ball has pushed all of them creatively, and i am being serious when i say i believe it has pushed them right over the creative edge into something new and better and entirely different than what we have ever seen from them before.

im just thinking about 2005 nu!who starting for a new audience (me) with mystery and sorrow and the idea of trying to rebuild yourself after a massive, horrific event, but also everything that came before that slowly being revealed to weigh you down as well (the companions who were left behind or who died, the way you were treated by your own people, the relationships that hurt you, the demons still in the closet, the constant running), and it ending on a narrative that healing really is possible for this character
and 2024 nu(nu)!who starting for a new audience with exuberance and curiosity and the joy of upcoming exploration after having allowed oneself that healing, and yes, being able to let go of that weight, but having so much affection and tenderness towards ones past selves and the effort it took to get to this place, and wherever this story goes, it doesn't start with grief or fear or trepidation, it starts with giddy excitement for what's about to happen

It is time to see if the heroes really would attack a friendly Dark.
Behold: my artwork for chapter 9 of LuckyLectio's fic A Dark Among the Lights on AO3. I know I say this every time, but I wholeheartedly recommend reading it.
This chapter grabbed me by the heart between the symbolism and execution, and I'm really really looking forward to where it goes from here ^-^
Link to the speedpaint since Tumblr made me post it separately.

was just thinking about how amazing it is that weird wonderful world and ghost files exist at the same time from the same company. you have the same minds, the same hosts, the same team and yet the shows are like day and night. www reminds us of the wonder and whimsy and joy all around us while ghost files showcases the world's darker side in its tragedies and horrors. and that they're able to execute both shows each with its own finely-tuned aesthetic and its own little universe is really a beautiful display of how much Talent and Love exists at watcher and it's so so special.
