Mobile Price in Bangladesh – Latest Updates and Best Deals 2024
Looking to buy a new mobile in Bangladesh? You’re not alone. With smartphones becoming a daily necessity for everyone from students to professionals, staying updated with the latest mobile price in bangladesh is more important than ever. The market is constantly changing, with new models launching every other week and price shifts due to global and local factors. Whether you're on a tight budget or eyeing the latest iPhone or Samsung flagship, this comprehensive guide has got you covered.
From brand-specific updates to in-depth comparison and exclusive deals, we’re diving deep into the mobile phone price in bd scene, so you can make the smartest choice possible. Let’s break it all down.
Introduction to Mobile Phone Market in Bangladesh
Growth and Evolution of the Mobile Market
Over the past decade, the mobile industry in Bangladesh has exploded. What used to be a market dominated by feature phones has turned into a hub for Android and iOS smartphones. With increasing internet penetration and widespread access to 4G (and incoming 5G), demand for smartphones has grown exponentially. According to BTRC reports, Bangladesh has over 180 million mobile connections and nearly 60% smartphone usage as of 2024.
This growth has sparked fierce competition among international and local brands. Companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme have set up solid distribution channels here. Local brands like Walton and Symphony are also fighting for their share by offering value-for-money devices tailored for Bangladeshi users. Mobile price in BD has thus become more competitive than ever, offering more choices at better rates.
But while choices have expanded, so has confusion. Prices differ wildly across platforms, regions, and even stores. That’s where this guide comes in—to help you navigate the mobile jungle with clarity.
Why Mobile Price in BD Is a Hot Topic in 2024
It’s not just tech geeks who care about mobile pricing anymore. Everyone—from students to business owners—is looking to upgrade or buy a new device. With inflation, tax changes, and dollar fluctuations, the new mobile price in Bangladesh is always shifting. Add to that the launch of new models almost monthly, and it’s clear why people search terms like mobile phone price in BD multiple times a week.
In 2024, the importance of having a reliable smartphone goes beyond communication—it’s about productivity, entertainment, learning, and business. A decent smartphone is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity. And knowing where and when to buy at the best price could save you thousands of Taka.
Factors Affecting Mobile Price in Bangladesh
Import Taxes and Duties
One of the biggest influencers on mobile price in bd is import tax. Bangladesh levies significant duties on imported smartphones, especially those that are fully assembled abroad. These taxes can range between 25% to 58% depending on the brand, phone type, and origin country.
Brands that assemble their devices locally, like Samsung, can offer better prices due to tax relief from the government. Local manufacturers like Walton and Symphony benefit further, offering feature-rich devices at a lower cost compared to imported options. So, if you're seeing a huge price gap between similar phones, taxes are often the culprit.
Exchange Rate and Dollar Impact
Another silent killer of mobile pricing in Bangladesh is the fluctuation in the USD-BDT exchange rate. Since most phones are priced in US dollars internationally, even a small change in exchange rates can cause a significant spike or dip in local prices. In 2024, the rising dollar has pushed flagship phone prices to record highs.
So, before buying a mobile, it’s smart to check the current exchange rate. Even waiting a few days could lead to a better deal if the currency shifts favorably. Pro tip: Subscribe to tech update channels or pages that report exchange-rate-based price changes—it could save you money.
Brand Positioning and Demand
Some phones are just more hyped than others. A new iPhone release or the latest Samsung Galaxy S-series launch can push the entire market pricing up, especially for older models which still hold value. High-demand devices usually carry premium prices for a few months after launch.
On the flip side, phones from emerging or budget-focused brands like Infinix, Tecno, and Lava try to undercut the competition with aggressive pricing. Understanding brand strategy can help you identify whether you're paying for genuine value or just brand hype.
New Mobile Price in Bangladesh – 2024 Highlights
Latest Flagship Phones and Their Prices
Let’s face it—everyone dreams of owning the latest iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. In 2024, the flagship market is buzzing with the likes of iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, OnePlus 12, and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Here are some average flagship mobile prices in BD as of April 2024:
Brand
Model
Price (BDT)
Apple
iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB)
2,15,000 BDT
Samsung
Galaxy S24 Ultra (256GB)
1,80,000 BDT
Xiaomi
Xiaomi 14 Pro (256GB)
1,05,000 BDT
OnePlus
OnePlus 12 (12/256GB)
95,000 BDT
These phones come packed with high-end features—flagship processors, OLED displays, periscope cameras, and more. If you want the best of the best, this is the league to play in—but be ready to pay the premium.
Price Comparison – Mobile Price in BD vs Other Countries
India vs Bangladesh: Price Differences
Ever wondered why the same smartphone costs less in India than in Bangladesh? Well, you’re not alone. Many Bangladeshi buyers look toward Indian pricing as a reference—and for good reason. India has a larger tech market and lower import duties, especially since several global brands manufacture locally there.
Let’s compare a few models (as of April 2024):
Phone Model
Price in India (INR)
Price in BD (BDT)
Price Gap
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro
₹21,000
31,500 BDT
~5,000 BDT
Samsung Galaxy A54
₹36,000
55,000 BDT
~7,000 BDT
iPhone 15
₹80,000
1,35,000 BDT
~15,000+ BDT
Bangladesh has higher import taxes, shipping, and smaller-scale distribution, which all add to the final cost. Also, due to the weak Taka against the Rupee or Dollar, the price difference becomes even more apparent. While parallel imports are an option, they often void warranty and create risk with unauthorized IMEI numbers.
In conclusion, while India might offer cheaper prices, buying locally ensures service, authenticity, and support—which in many cases, outweigh the cost benefits of cross-border shopping.
Global Pricing Trends and Bangladesh Position
Worldwide, mobile prices are dictated by supply chain costs, component availability (like chipsets), and logistics. For instance, during the pandemic and post-pandemic years, global chip shortages caused prices to surge. In 2024, we’re seeing price normalization, but Bangladesh still lags due to slower distribution and high import dependence.
Countries like China and the UAE often get the best pricing due to being manufacturing or re-export hubs. In contrast, Bangladesh, despite growing demand, remains a consumer-only market with limited production, affecting pricing power.
So, while Bangladesh may not be the cheapest, local pricing is becoming more competitive—especially with government incentives to promote local assembly and support digital Bangladesh goals.

Buying Tips – How to Choose the Right Mobile for Your Budget
Specs to Focus on Based on Usage
Buying a smartphone can feel overwhelming with so many features thrown at you—camera megapixels, processors, refresh rate, RAM, storage, and the list goes on. But let’s simplify things based on how you use your phone:
For Basic Users (Calls, Messaging, Social Media):
Go for at least 2GB RAM and 32GB storage
Prefer Android Go edition for smooth performance
A decent 4,000 mAh battery will last the day
For Students and Moderate Users (Study, YouTube, Light Gaming):
Choose 4–6GB RAM and at least 64GB storage
A good MediaTek Helio or Snapdragon 600 series chip
Look for 6.5-inch HD+ or FHD+ displays
5,000 mAh battery with fast charging
For Heavy Users and Gamers:
Minimum 8GB RAM and 128GB storage
Snapdragon 700/800 series or Dimensity 900+
120Hz AMOLED screen preferred
Stereo speakers, advanced cooling systems
For Photography Enthusiasts:
64MP+ primary camera or OIS-supported sensors
Ultra-wide and macro lens support
4K video recording and good night mode software
Always balance the specs based on what matters to you. A flashy design or 108MP camera isn’t useful if the software experience is poor.
Avoiding Fake or Refurbished Phones
Sadly, fake phones and refurbished models being sold as new are a big issue in the BD market. Here’s how to protect yourself:
Check IMEI: Dial *#06# and verify the IMEI on BTRC’s site or the brand’s own checker.
Look for Sealed Box: Don’t accept phones with broken seals or without proper stickers.
Official Warranty Card: Always demand a warranty card stamped by the shop.
Avoid Too-Good-To-Be-True Deals: If the price is way lower than market average, it’s likely fake or refurbished.
Also, steer clear of grey market imports if you want brand warranty or future software updates.
Government Initiatives and Mobile Regulations
Smartphone Registration and IMEI Verification
To fight phone theft and illegal imports, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) introduced the NEIR system. It helps in:
Blocking unregistered phones from local networks
Ensuring buyers get official, genuine devices
Encouraging importers to follow legal channels
Before buying a phone, verify if the IMEI is registered through BTRC’s neir.btrc.gov.bd platform. If not registered, the phone could get blocked anytime—even if it's brand new.
Tax Reliefs and Local Manufacturing Boost
The government has taken solid steps to reduce mobile phone prices and promote local manufacturing:
VAT and Tax Benefits: Brands assembling phones locally pay significantly less in taxes, which is passed down to consumers.
Made in Bangladesh Tag: Samsung, Symphony, Walton, and some Xiaomi phones are now made or assembled locally.
Job Creation & Tech Transfer: These initiatives are also generating jobs and helping transfer tech knowledge to local workers.
So, by buying local or locally assembled phones, you’re not only saving money but also supporting Bangladesh’s economic and tech growth.
Mobile Accessories and Their Prices in BD
Headphones, Chargers, Screen Protectors
Smartphone accessories are just as important, and the right ones can greatly enhance your experience. But with so many cheap knock-offs in the market, you’ve got to know where to look.
Here’s an average pricing table:
Accessory
Price Range (BDT)
Notes
Wired Earphones
200–800 BDT
Avoid under 150 BDT ones
Wireless Earbuds (TWS)
1,200–6,000 BDT
Xiaomi, Realme, Haylou popular
Screen Protector (Tempered Glass)
100–300 BDT
Get 9H quality
Phone Covers
150–800 BDT
Silicon covers last longer
Fast Chargers (Original)
1,000–3,000 BDT
Buy from authorized shops
Always go for original or certified accessories. Third-party products might look the same but can harm your phone’s battery or display in the long run.
Popular Accessories Brands in Bangladesh
Remax
Baseus
Haylou
Joyroom
Ugreen
These brands offer a good balance between price and quality. Look for them online or at authorized outlets for warranty support.
Mobile Servicing, Warranty, and Customer Support in BD
Brand Authorized Service Centers
If your phone gets damaged or starts acting up, where you go for help can make all the difference. Most top brands in Bangladesh now have authorized service centers that offer:
Free repairs under warranty
Genuine spare parts
Software updates
Expert technicians
Popular service centers include:
Samsung Smart Plaza
Xiaomi Customer Care (ServicEngine)
Apple Authorised Resellers (iStore, Gadget & Gear)
Realme and Oppo Service Points
Make sure to bring your purchase receipt and warranty card for fast service.
Third-party Shops vs Company Support
Many local shops offer quick fixes at lower prices—but it comes with a risk. Here's a breakdown:
Service Type
Pros
Cons
Authorized
Genuine parts, warranty support
Slightly more expensive
Local Shops
Cheap, fast service
Fake parts, no guarantees
Online Warranty Support
Convenient scheduling
May take more time
If your phone is still under warranty, always go for official service. For older phones, local shops can be an economical option—but verify reviews first.

iPhone: Foldable iPhone rumors swirl for late 2024
Realme: Gamers’ favorite line-up with better cooling

When it comes to mobile price in Bangladesh, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Prices vary based on brand, features, specs, warranty, and of course, where you buy it from. Whether you're a student looking for a budget-friendly smartphone, a professional in need of a flagship device, or someone who just wants a reliable phone for everyday use, Bangladesh's mobile market has it all.
With the government promoting local assembly and regulating imports through IMEI registration, the market is becoming safer and more transparent for buyers. Shopping online on trusted platforms like Daraz or visiting physical outlets in tech hubs like Bashundhara City gives you flexibility, depending on how hands-on you want the buying experience to be.
Most importantly, always keep your personal needs and usage patterns in mind. Don’t just get swayed by what’s trending—get what fits you. Look beyond the hype, compare prices, read reviews, and check the IMEI. That way, you’re not just buying a phone, you’re investing in peace of mind.
Happy phone hunting!

Exploding Topics Review: Uncover Trends Before They Blow Up!
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/exploding-topics-review-uncover-trends-before-they-blow-up/
Exploding Topics Review: Uncover Trends Before They Blow Up!
As an SEO specialist, I’m constantly looking for ways to stay ahead of the curve. After all, SEO isn’t just about optimizing for what’s popular right now, but anticipating what’s coming next. It’s about spotting the trends before they become mainstream, so you can create content that resonates when it matters most. That’s why staying on top of emerging trends is more critical than ever!
I’ve heard a lot about Exploding Topics and was excited to do a personal deep dive into it. Co-founded by Brian Dean (an SEO legend!) it’s a game-changing tool that helps you spot trends before they explode into mainstream consciousness!
What I love about Exploding Topics is that (unlike Google Trends) it doesn’t just show you what’s already trending. It helps you identify trends before they even become popular.
While Google Trends is great for giving me real-time data on what’s hot right now, Exploding Topics digs deeper by analyzing the growth patterns of topics over time so I can spot emerging trends that are on the rise but haven’t hit the mainstream yet. This early insight allows me to create content that’s ahead of the curve, giving me a strategic advantage!
In this Exploding Topics review, I’ll discuss the pros and cons, what it is, who it’s best for, and its key features. Then, I’ll show you how I used Exploding Topics to uncover emerging trends, boost my content strategy, and ultimately stay ahead of the competition.
I’ll finish the article by comparing Exploding Topics with my top three alternatives (Trends Critical, Brandwatch, and Talkwalker). By the end, you’ll know if Exploding Topics is right for you!
Verdict
Exploding Topics is an excellent tool for uncovering emerging trends, creating timely content, and staying ahead of market shifts. However, its cost, limited niche coverage, and occasional fluctuations in trend accuracy may make it less ideal for smaller businesses or highly specialized industries.
Pros and Cons
Helps users discover emerging trends before they become mainstream
Provides fresh ideas for timely, relevant content that resonates with target audiences
Stay ahead of market shifts and adapt quickly to changes in consumer demand
Offers valuable information for making informed business decisions
Easy to navigate and understand
Covers a wide range of industries and topics
Provides access to past trend information
It can be expensive, especially for smaller businesses or individual users
The accuracy of trend predictions may fluctuate
It may not cover all niche industries equally well
Some identified trends may lose relevance quickly
The trends are restricted to predefined categories
The starter plan only allows 10 topic searches
The exact sources of trend data are not always clear
What is Exploding Topics?
At its core, Exploding Topics is a massive trend detection engine that uses artificial intelligence to analyze millions of data points across the Internet. We’re talking everything including Google search data, social media, news articles, and online discussions. It identifies trends at least 6 months before they go mainstream!
Trend Detection Algorithm & Data Sources
The Trend Detection algorithm doesn’t just look for spikes in popularity. Instead, it analyzes the growth pattern of topics over time, looking for sustained, organic growth curves.
For example, let’s say you’re researching sustainable fashion trends. The platform can help you spot bamboo fabric as an emerging trend because it shows consistent growth over the years, not just a temporary surge.
Free vs. Pro Versions
The free version of Exploding Topics gives you access to basic trend data and limited historical information. But if you’re serious about trend research, the pro version is worth investing in!
You get daily trend updates, advanced filters, and trend forecasting capabilities which can help spot potentially profitable niches early on. You’ll also get access to Pro features, like Meta Trends, trending products and startups, and API access (in higher-tier plans).
Pro users can also view very new trends peaking in the last 3-6 months, which isn’t available in the free version. Plus, the historical data goes back several years, allowing you to differentiate between seasonal spikes and genuine long-term trends!
Meta Categories
One thing that took me a bit to figure out was how to effectively use the Meta Trends. These are like trend clusters that show you the bigger picture of related topics!
The Meta Trends feature provides a visual representation of umbrella topics and their related subtopics. When you click on a Meta Trend, you’ll see a diagram with an inner ring of popular micro trends and an outer ring of related trending topics.
When exploring Meta Trends, you might discover how seemingly separate topics are interconnected. For example, a broad trend like “Premium Snacks” might include various related trending subtopics, helping you understand the larger market context.
Using Meta Trends can help you identify emerging niches within broader markets and understand the complex relationships between different trending topics. It’s an excellent way to get a more comprehensive view of trend dynamics beyond individual topic analysis.
While the platform is powerful, it’s not without limitations. Sometimes you’ll need to combine its insights with other research tools like Semrush, Google Trends, or other research platforms to get a well-rounded view of emerging market opportunities!
Who is Exploding Topics Best For?
Exploding Topics is best suited for these types of people:
Bloggers and Content Marketers can use Exploding Topics to find fresh, engaging topics with high search potential, discover content ideas that haven’t been extensively covered, and create content that drives traffic.
SEO Professionals can use Exploding Topics to identify low-competition keywords linked to rapidly growing trends, help clients get quick ranking results, and stand out in competitive digital landscapes.
Investors can use Exploding Topics to uncover promising trends and emerging startups and gain insights into untapped market potential.
Entrepreneurs can use Exploding Topics to validate business ideas, spot market gaps before they become saturated, and position themselves to offer groundbreaking products or services.
Industries with Significant Potential can use Exploding Topics to track trends in technology (AI, machine learning, blockchain), e-commerce, marketing, health, and finance.
Exploding Topics Key Features
This platform comes with eight key features.
1. Trend Tracking
When I first used the Trend Tracking feature, I was impressed by how comprehensive it was. It doesn’t just show you what’s trending. It breaks down the growth pattern with detailed metrics!
The Trend Tracking tool focuses on overall growth patterns, search volume trends, and future projections. It provides the following key features for trend analysis:
Historical data going back up to 15 years
Search volume for the previous month and growth over selected periods
Trend forecasting using AI prediction for the next year (in some plans)
Channel breakdown showing where the topic is most popular on social media
Related trends for additional context
2. Trends Database
The Trends Database has become my go-to resource for research. It’s massive (we’re talking hundreds of thousands of tracked topics across dozens of categories!) It also covers 31+ categories including AI, pets, marketing, tech, food, gaming, design, and travel.
What I love most is the filtering system. You can refine the data by growth rate, time period, and type (brand or non-brand).
The database is updated daily, so you have access to the most current trend information. Each trend includes a graph of historical Google Search volume so you can understand the trend’s growth trajectory and stability over time.
Pro users can export this data into CSV files, making it easy to conduct deeper analysis outside the platform.
3. Trend Analysis
For Trend Analysis, Exploding Topics is really good at providing context. It’s not just raw numbers. You get detailed insights about why a trend is growing!
The correlation analysis has been particularly useful.
For example, you might discover that the rise in “mushroom coffee” is strongly correlated with broader trends in functional beverages and natural nootropics. This kind of insight can help create much more comprehensive content!
4. Trending Startups
The Trending Startups tool is great for staying ahead of industry innovations.
Each startup listing includes:
Company name and description
Founded date
Total funding and latest funding round
Number of employees
Location
Website and social platform links (if available)
It’s an excellent tool for identifying emerging business models and product categories before they hit mainstream awareness.
5. Trending Products
The Trending Products feature saves countless hours of market research. It offers insights into trending products across various categories.
Here’s what sets it apart:
Uses AI and machine learning to analyze data from multiple sources (including Google Search, social media, and e-commerce sites)
Provides growth trends and forecasts for products
Shows top sellers and brands for each product
It also provides monthly sales data for products, average review information, and Google search volume trends to gauge consumer interest.
The tool aims to identify products with long-term growth potential rather than just current bestsellers. You can track products of interest and receive real-time updates on trend data.
6. Meta Trends
Meta Trends might be the most powerful feature for strategic planning. It visually represents umbrella topics and their related subtopics, showing interconnected trends within larger markets.
When you click on a Meta Trend, you see a diagram with an inner ring of popular micro trends and an outer ring of related trending topics. This helps identify fast-growing niche trends within broader markets, providing a list of growing keywords, brands, and products in that niche.
For example, I discovered trending AI chatbots like Yellow AI and Elise AI were all part of a larger meta trend in AI Chatbots. This helped me develop a much more coherent content strategy by providing insights into emerging niches and understanding the complex relationships between different trending topics!
7. Reports Library
The Reports Library offers curated trends and comprehensive analyses delivered weekly. It provides valuable insights that help paint a picture of where markets are heading.
Each report is divided into two main segments:
“Early bird companies”
“Tomorrow’s products today”
In every report, you’ll find:
Four trending products
Four companies making waves
Detailed insights for each trend and company
8. API Access
Exploding Topics offers API access for Pro Business subscribers. The API lets you retrieve and analyze topics in real time, with up to 60 requests per minute.
Key features of the Exploding Topics API include:
Access to trending topics, including descriptions, detection dates, and monthly search volumes
Data on popular e-commerce products, including growth levels and search metrics
Information on trending startups
Historical data going back 15 years, with daily updates
The API can be integrated into existing analytics systems and content planning tools to streamline your workflow. You can even build custom dashboards, create visualizations, and set up automatic reminders or workflows based on trend data.
It’s flexible and easy to use with REST architecture. It’s also managed directly by Exploding Topics for live and accurate data and comes with hands-on support if needed.
Combining These Features
Something I’ve learned is to use these features in combination.
For example, I often start with Meta Trends to identify broad movements, then drill down using the Trends Database, validate with the Products section, and finally use the API to monitor specific metrics automatically. This integrated approach has helped me spot opportunities I might have missed looking at any single feature in isolation.
Just remember that like any tool, these features work best when you have a clear strategy for using them. It took me some time to develop an efficient workflow, but now I can quickly assess new opportunities and make data-driven decisions about content direction.
The real power comes from understanding how these features complement each other. For example, when I identify a promising trend in the database, I can quickly validate it against startup activity and product demand and then set up API monitoring for ongoing tracking. This comprehensive approach has helped me stay ahead of market shifts rather than just reacting to them!
How to Use Exploding Topics
Here’s how I used Exploding Topics to identify rising trends in my niche:
Create an Account
Go to Meta Trends
View All Meta Trends
Select a Trend
Track a Topic
Create a New Project
View Your Project
Select a Topic
Analyze Topic Metrics
View Related Trends
Find Trends in Your Niche
Step 1: Create an Account
I started by going to explodingtopics.com and hitting “Pro” on the top right and then “Sign In.”
After creating an account and signing up for a Pro plan, I was taken to the Trend Tracking tab!
Step 2: Go to Meta Trends
First things first: start with the Meta Trends section which you can find near the bottom of the navigation panel. Instead of getting lost in individual trends, I’ve learned to use this tool to look at broader category movements.
Step 3: View All Meta Trends
To view all meta trends, I clicked “All Meta Trends” on the top right.
Step 4: Select a Trend
From here, I could view all of my meta trends in one place and choose the one I wanted to dive deeper into.
I selected “View Analysis” on “AI Chatbots.”
Selecting “View Analysis” gave me a brief background and analysis of AI chatbots, as well as a chart with two rings:
Inner ring: Micro trends within AI chatbots
Outer ring: Other trends related to AI chatbots
Step 5: Track a Topic
Selecting one of the trending topics presented a graph showing the volume and growth over the past couple of years. Beneath this graph, I could hit “Track Topic” to start tracking it!
When deciding which topics you want to track on Exploding Topics, pay attention to the platform’s trend indicators. Look for trends with:
Steady upward growth trajectories
Increasing search volume
“Exploding” or early-stage status
I’ve had success targeting topics that are just beginning to gain traction but haven’t reached peak popularity. These emerging trends often represent the perfect timing for content creation or business strategy. By identifying trends before they become mainstream, you can position yourself ahead of the competition.
The meta trends on Exploding Topics are an excellent way to discover topics you might think are a single trend but are actually part of a larger movement. It’s a great way to identify niche opportunities within larger markets! If you’re an SEO specialist like me, it’s an excellent way to create content clusters to establish topical authority and really start ranking in the SERPs.
Step 6: Create a New Project
Hitting “Track Topic” opens a small window with existing projects I can add the topic to. Alternatively, I could create a new project, which is what I selected.
Next, I had to give my project a name. I called it “AI Tools” and hit “Create.”
Step 7: View Your Project
Heading over to the “Trend Tracking” tab was my new project and topic! I hit “View Project” to see more.
Step 8: Select a Topic
Hitting “View Project” took me to a page where I could view my topics, growth, and volume within the project. I selected the topic I had just added.
Step 9: Analyze Topic Metrics
This gave me much deeper insights into:
The topics growth over time (up to 15 years!) and project forecast over the next 12 months
What the topic was about
A breakdown of the topic’s activity on each social channel
Key indicators of the topic’s growth, speed, etc.
Step 10: View Related Trends
Below that were trends related to my topic, including their growth metrics.
Step 11: Find Trends in Your Niche
The Trends Database is another excellent tool for finding trending topics in your specific niche. At the top, you can search for specific trends, or look through the different categories.
But don’t just stick to your main niche. Explore adjacent categories too to find even more opportunities!
To find trends in my niche, I selected the “Trends Database” from the navigation menu and filtered through the categories. In my case, I wanted to find more AI trends, so I went to “Technology” and selected “Artificial Intelligence.”
Next, I was presented with tens of thousands of Artificial Intelligence topics I could sort by trends, growth, volume, timeframe, and type (brands or non-brands). I could select any of these topics to get deeper insights and add them to my projects to track over time, or I could export the trend data to a CSV!
The real power of Exploding Topics isn’t just in finding trends. It’s in understanding how to time your content strategy around them.
I’ve found that targeting trends when they’re in the early growth phase, rather than at their peak, usually leads to better long-term results!
Overall, Exploding Topics helped me uncover emerging trends before they hit the mainstream for a competitive edge. By tracking and analyzing trends, I was able to create targeted strategies to boost my content’s relevance and reach!
Top 3 Exploding Topics Alternatives
Herer are the best Exploding Topics alternatives.
Trends Critical
The first Exploding Topics alternative I’d recommend is Trends Critical. I love Trends Critical for its AI tools that simplify turning insights into real-world results! The tool aims to “skip hours of trend research” and offers a unique approach of combining “Trends + AI + Partners = Faster and Better Outcomes”.
Both platforms focus on identifying emerging trends and valuable insights for businesses and individuals aiming to stay ahead of market changes. Exploding Topics casts a wide net across industries, analyzing millions of online interactions to identify trends before they take off. Meanwhile, Trends Critical goes further with insights powered by AI. It offers cross-industry trend integration, real-life trend validation, and customizable tools tailored to specific workflows.
Exploding Topics excels in simplicity, ease of navigation, and providing broad trend insights through predefined categories. On the other hand, Trends Critical offers a more dynamic, AI-driven approach with personalized insights with support for over 50 languages and 40+ AI templates. While Exploding Topics may appeal to those seeking general trends, Trends Critical’s strengths lie in its ability to offer niche, personalized insights and tools for converting trends into actionable strategies.
For a straightforward way to discover broad trends and generate content ideas, choose Exploding Topics. For AI-driven, customizable insights to transform trends into concrete business actions, Trends Critical is the better fit!
Brandwatch
The next Exploding Topics alternative I’d recommend is Brandwatch. Brandwatch is excellent at providing detailed historical context and actionable real-time insights through its advanced AI capabilities. They recently launched an AI-powered React Score that provides real-time brand reputation insights!
Both platforms help identify trends, but their approaches and focus areas differ.
Exploding Topics uses a broad algorithm to analyze millions of searches, conversations, and mentions. This makes Exploding Topics the better choice for spotting under-the-radar trends early. It’s easy to navigate and caters to content creators, marketers, and entrepreneurs looking to stay ahead of emerging markets. However, its predefined categories and limited niche coverage can be drawbacks.
Meanwhile, Brandwatch focuses on comprehensive consumer intelligence with historical and real-time data from 1.7 trillion conversations across diverse sources like social media, reviews, and news. Its AI tools provide deep insights through auto-segmentation, image analysis, and customizable visualizations for large-scale data analysis. Unlike Exploding Topics, Brandwatch offers powerful reporting tools to track and share insights, making it better suited for enterprises.
For a user-friendly tool to spot trends and create timely content, choose Exploding Topics. For a robust platform with deep consumer intelligence and market analysis, choose Brandwatch!
Talkwalker
The final Exploding Topics alternative I’d recommend is Talkwalker. Both tools are designed to help businesses stay ahead of trends, but they approach this goal differently.
Exploding Topics focuses on identifying early-stage trends by analyzing Internet searches and conversations. This is great for finding valuable insights for content creation. On the other hand, Talkwalker excels in social listening, media monitoring, and consumer intelligence. It also comes with comprehensive tools for reputation management and competitor analysis.
Exploding Topics is straightforward and excellent for discovering under-the-radar trends across predefined categories. Meanwhile, Talkwalker offers a broader scope, including crisis management and audience insights. It also uses Blue Silk™ GPT to decode real-time consumer insights and predict future KPIs with high accuracy, among other things. The major difference lies in Talkwalker’s emphasis on real-time monitoring and its ability to connect businesses with influential media partners while Exploding Topics remains focused on trend discovery.
If you’re looking for early-stage trend discovery and niche content ideas, choose Exploding Topics. For real-time insights, social media monitoring, and reputation management, choose Talkwalker!
Exploding Topics Review: The Right Tool For You?
After using Exploding Topics for trend discovery, it’s been an invaluable tool in staying ahead of market shifts and creating content that resonates. The ability to identify emerging trends before they hit the mainstream is something I didn’t expect to be so impactful! I’ve been able to create content around topics that were just starting to gain traction, positioning myself ahead of the curve.
The entire platform is easy to navigate and offers detailed insights, like search volume trends and future projections. I’ve been able to understand not just what’s trending, but why it’s growing. Plus, the Meta Trends feature helped me connect seemingly unrelated trends into larger movements. As an SEO specialist, this has been huge for creating content clusters to establish topical authority.
The only drawback I’d mention is that Exploding Topics doesn’t cover niche industries as deeply as I’d like. If you’re working in a very specialized field, you might find the coverage a bit limited. But for broader trends and content creation, this tool is solid.
If you’re curious about the best Exploding Topics alternatives, here’s what I’d recommend:
Trends Critical is best if you’re looking for AI-powered, customizable trend insights across industries with a focus on real-world applications. It’s a great tool for creating actionable strategies.
Brandwatch is best for enterprises needing advanced consumer intelligence, historical data, and real-time insights from 1.7 trillion conversations across multiple sources.
Talkwalker is best for businesses looking for real-time insights, social media monitoring, and competitor analysis with a focus on media partnerships and reputation management.
Overall, if you’re looking to discover emerging trends early and stay ahead of the competition, Exploding Topics is a must-have. It’s been a game-changer for my content strategy and decision-making, especially when paired with other tools for deeper insights!
Thanks for reading my Exploding Topics review! I hope you found it helpful.

If the embarrassment of potentially being caught trying to get a five finger discount on a cost less than five dollars didn't kill him off, having to be walked through the difference between the two superhero publishing juggernauts would have done the job just fine. Try as he may to be interested and engaged for the sake of preservation, Reggie had never been the sort of person who could fake interest in a topic that didn't engage him.
( It provided it's own pros and cons when it came to his time as a podcast host. )
He was about to throw in the towel and declare if he had to hear one more un-fun fact about the two different but same named Captain Marvels he was going to smash his skull against the corner of the counter when reprieve comes in the form of two thumbs up and the ding of the bell.
"Thank you, that was so helpful. So informative. I'm going to leave a google review to end all google reviews for you and this place."
He pats their shoulder before he makes a slow walk towards the store's main door, nearly throwing himself out of it for a faster escape like he might end up followed and re-captured in conversation.
"Go, go, go. Keep going until you can't go any further," Reggie instructs with a hand on the small of Jas' back, ushering them down the street and around the corner before his pace returned to something more leisurely.
"Oh my god. I thought my head was going to explode if I had to do another second of that."
@jasrussell
Jas snorts involuntarily at Reggie's remark, attempting to cover it by clearing her throat awkwardly. This was worst than the time she attempted crowd work at a gig and a member of the audience faked being deaf to fuck with her—Jas had sweated profusely and stumbled over a joke about wishing she was deaf right now too so she didn't have to listen to herself bombing her own set.
"If you think about it we're like a modern Robin Hood and Maid Marian."
Jas rolls the comic up and slips it up her sleeve as soon as he hands it over, guilt prickling at the back of her neck. One comic book wasn't going to put the store out of business and if it did then the owners had other things to worry about than petty theft.
"If I get caught then I'm singing like a canary." Jas warned, clasping her hands together over her chest. "I will be performing like my rent is due and I have three babies at home to feed."
Jas watches Reggie slip into action, momentarily forgetting her role in all of this as she grows invested in watching how his distraction tactic plays out. It was a bold movie, she would be sure to congratulate him on kicking the proverbial hornets nest if they managed to get away with this.
His wide eyed gaze was enough to kick her back into action and while Reggie holds the attention of the store clerk like a dancer on stage, Jas whistles innocently as she inches carefully towards the exit. Jas is half way through the door when she gives Reggie two proud thumbs up before slipping soundlessly outside.

Artificial Intelligence
There have been many new breakthroughs in the programming world in the past two decades, better frameworks, big data, and the topic of this blog, artificial intelligence or most commonly known as a.i. which is the ability of a computer or a robot controlled by a computer to do tasks that are usually done by humans because they require human intelligence and discernment.
For such a revolutionary technology there has to be positives it brings to society, however there are negatives to it as well that are not talked about as much. We will start with the pros and then demonstrate the cons that artificial intelligence can have. The first pro and the most important is a.i takes out human error out of the equation completely if built properly, because even if some work is being done by an expert, he can still make a mistake if he is too tired, hungry, or for 1000 other reasons. However, a computer will do its task 100 times with the same exact precision, or even better precision if it learns from its past tries, because it is a computer. Another positive aspect that artificial intelligence is that we can create robots that would take out the risk factor for humans, for example there is a bomb that needs defusal, you would evacuate everyone and send in a robot to try and defuse it, that way if anything happens it’s just a piece of metal that explodes and not a human being. And the fact that are pieces of metal made from engineering means that they do not need to rest and sleep for 8 hours every day, which entails that they are available every day of the week, at every hour. One that all of use on a daily basis, digital assistants, be it on an iPhone with Siri or on an android with google we use those assistants almost every day to make appointments, call people, set reminders and it just makes our lives a hell of a lot easier.
For such an amazing piece of technology it seems weird that there might be some negatives to it, but there always is something. First things first, we can already see it in a lot of grocery stores with the self-checkout stations, artificial intelligence can replace certain jobs and because of that a lot of jobs are under the risk of not existing anytime soon, because it is simply easier to replace them with a robot. And on top of that a.i can make humans lazy by making them addicted to these programs that would potentially be doing the majority of their work for them. And one thing not many people talk about is the cost of producing these artificial intelligence programs, because they need to be constantly updated to take into account the newest technologies, hardware, and software to work in the most optimal way and that costs a lot of money.

Give & Take | Chapter 3
pairing: kacchako
genre: slowburn/fluff
words: 2.7k
summary: Ochako's grades are slipping. Bakugo is dangerously nearing suspension, or worse, expulsion. A certain twist of fate pairs them together for tutoring sessions. He teaches her math. She keeps him from getting suspended. A simple exchange, but what if this only brings them closer than necessary?

Chapter Two
Chapter Three: Emotional Whiplash Courtesy of Shoto Todoroki
Ochako’s lunch looked less appetizing despite the fact that she got her favorite meal and weirdly enough, the same could also be said about today’s breakfast. She couldn’t help but lose her appetite thanks to the stampede of thoughts clouding her mind, twisting her stomach in knots that could intimidate a senior girl scout. She might as well be sporting a flashing neon sign that read, I have a tutoring session with Bakugo Katsuki later. Help.
Her train of thought comes to an abrupt halt, only to go full throttle, bringing her back to the events that took place yesterday. It was bad enough that she fell asleep in class, it was another thing to be woken up by the one person she wanted to desperately avoid at all costs. She wasn’t a hundred percent sure of what happened after that, but the clearest images she could conjure in her head were warm hands and the indisputable figure of Bakugo’s back facing her as he walked out of the classroom. Ochako wants to give herself the benefit of the doubt and believe that she didn’t do anything stupid in between the gaps in her memory other than Bakugo being the one to wake her from her slumber.
Her mind wanders to this morning, Ochako didn’t miss the indiscriminate glances Bakugo occasionally threw her way within the cluster of their classmates coming together in their dorm’s common room before they make their way to class. She pushed aside the little voices that whispered ridiculous assumptions behind the sudden attention she was getting from him, instead, she reasons that Bakugo was most likely just thinking along the same lines as her, their upcoming session, that is. His thoughts might not be as all-consuming as hers, but she couldn’t think of any other reason why he’d even bother giving her the time of day.
A hand makes its way in front of her face, waving up and down, “Are you all right, Uraraka?” She realizes that she had been staring at her lunch tray for a concerning amount of minutes, “Is there something wrong with your lunch?”
Iida has a worried look etched on his face, she notices Todoroki and Deku also wearing the same expression, “Oh no, I’m fine! I was just caught up in my own head, that’s all,” She says with a dismissive wave. She instantly regrets not leaving out the last part of her sentence when she sees Iida’s eyebrows knit together, “Oh? Is everything okay?”
As much as Iida’s overwhelming concern warmed her heart, Ochako would much rather not have Bakugo as the table’s next topic of discussion, “Yes, I promise it’s not a big deal.” She manages to give her friend one last reassuring smile before trying to change the topic, “You were saying something about today’s hero training activity? I heard that All Might’s planning on having us disarm bombs again.”
Finally, this shifts the attention away from her, “Ah, yes, I’m looking forward to surpassing my record from the previous one!” Iida replies, Ochako exhales a breath of relief, thankful that her thoughts about Bakugo led her quick thinking to the subject of bombs.
“All Might also mentioned that today’s bombs would be more difficult to disarm,” Deku chimes in, “It’s most likely because he decided to have us use real ones this time instead of the simulated ones we used last time!”
Ochako takes in the sparkle of enthusiasm in Deku’s eyes and the overflowing amount of admiration in his voice, the mention of All Might never fails to elicit that kind of reaction from his biggest fan. She almost smiles fondly at the thought if not for the heavy feeling that spreads across her chest. Her mind drifts to a distant memory of the sleepless nights she used to share with him, heavy eyelids, phone pressed against one ear as she listens to Deku rattle on and on about the new limited edition All Might figurine he bought that day.
Oh, how she wished things were still like that.
“Do you think he’ll have us perform in pairs again?” Iida’s question plops additional weight on her chest, I certainly hope not.
Todoroki lifts his attention from his soba and places it on Deku and Ochako, “If that were the case, I’m confident that Midoriya and Uraraka would finish in record time just like before.” Ochako instinctively glances at Deku and he follows suit, but they look away just as quickly. If there was one thing that this conversation did not need, it was the awkwardness that already plagued Deku and Ochako’s relationship. It also didn’t need the dreadful silence that immediately follows, occupying their table as if it were a fifth person sitting alongside them.
Iida looked as if he’d much rather be anywhere than to be seated between her and Deku while Ochako tried her very best not to make a face that screamed she’d rather not be in this table at all. Todoroki, as usual, is clueless about the new atmosphere he had brought down upon the table, he takes another bite out of the soba that reminded Ochako of her own legs, had she not been sitting down right now, it would’ve been an impossible task for her to stand upright.
“Yeah,” Deku says softly, “I’m sure we would.”
A part of Ochako thanked him for breaking the painful silence gripping both of their necks, the other part of her sank in a vicious pool of guilt. Deku had always been the one making a conscious effort in trying to patch up the relationship that had both of them speechless around one another and even if they had something to say, it wouldn’t make it past the confines of your regular greeting or anything school related, on the field or within the classroom.
An image of Deku’s text from last night flashes in her mind, it had no more than 10 words, but it was the most they had ever spoken to one another after what happened last year. Hey, are you okay? You don’t usually sleep in class. Once again, it was Deku who takes the first step. She wished she had more to say than just I’m okay, but she had nothing. What’s worse is that she lied, of course she wasn’t okay, but would she really admit that to anyone, let alone him?
Ochako would have sunk deeper into guilt if it weren’t for Todoroki once again speaking up to point out something she had almost forgotten about.
“Uraraka, Mr. Aizawa called you in his office the other day,” he begins, putting his chopsticks down. Ochako feels her breath hitch at the unexpected mention of her meeting with Aizawa, the weight of her guilt suddenly exploding into confetti inside her gut the minute her thoughts fly back to Bakugo like persistent flies on a moldy sandwich. She was going to get whiplash because of all the shifts in emotion this clueless, soba-loving boy was inflicting upon her.
Todoroki’s gaze focuses on her, “Bakugo was also summoned not long before, are these two events related in some way?” he asks as if it were the 17th century and he was a king questioning his subjects. She thought that she had already escaped every possibility of talking about Bakugo but here it comes barging into the conversation like the metric ton wrecking ball that it was.
She knew that if she told them the entirety of her conversation with Aizawa, she’d only make her friends worry about her more than they already should. She even has yet to tell them about the part time job she took about a month ago at a small cafe in a nearby town to help cover her father’s medical expenses, not to mention the huge decline in income for their family’s business. The times when she had to book it to the train station the minute their last period ends were often explained to curious classmates as extra martial arts lessons with Gunhead, not that she has anything to show for it since she was probably washing cutlery during that time rather than learning how to do a proper axe kick with a pro hero.
She decides to keep her answer brief so as to not give anything away, “I’m gonna be having tutoring sessions with Bakugo from now on.” Thinking about it in her head, the idea never really struck her as something peculiar, but hearing it from her own voice for the first time with her closest friends as her audience, she realizes how weird it actually sounded.
To her surprise, Deku is the first to react, “Kacchan?” The way he said it didn’t sound like he disagreed with the idea, he just sounded genuinely surprised.
“That’s...unusual” Todoroki points out. It’s not like Ochako could deny that, the last person anybody would consider to be capable of helping someone understand what a definite integral was would be Bakugo.
“Well,” Iida interjects, “as um unusual as the idea may be, I believe it would be a wonderful opportunity for you, Uraraka.” Ochako wanted to hug the boosters out of Iida right then and there, but he wasn’t finished yet, “But was there...,” he trails off for a while.
“...Another option?” Shoto finishes.
“Well, Iida and Momo are already helping Kaminari, Jirou, and Mina, while Deku--,” she pauses. For a moment, she had forgotten that Deku was sitting one seat apart from her, and now he was learning about how she had considered being tutored by him instead. “uh Deku...was already busy training with All Might.” Her eyes dart to anywhere except for Deku’s direction.
“What about me?” Todoroki offers, “I’d be more than willing to tutor you.”
Ochako considers this for a short while before remembering how much it was necessary for Bakugo to be the one who tutors her, “No! I mean--I appreciate it, really I do, but,” Her eyes quickly dart to Bakugo’s table before focusing on Todoroki once more, “I’m okay with this.”
Todoroki studies her for another second or two before replying, “I see,” he picks up his chopsticks and points them towards her, “If you’ve already set your mind to it, then I will no longer push the idea.” He punctuates his sentence with a slurp of soba.
“Bakugo is a consistent top student, yes, though he can be a bit--,” Iida clears his throat, “ill-mannered and quite...loud.” He turns to Ochako, the same concerned expression taking over his face once more, “Are you sure about this?”
This makes her think. Bakugo surely wasn’t the most pleasant person to be around nor was he someone she was over the moon to be learning one on one from. Despite this, she was at least 95% sure about her decision since she believed that everybody can learn a thing or two from anybody, even from a piece of work such as Bakugo Katsuki and as if to read her mind, “Kacchan can be difficult to get along with, but I think that there’s a lot Uraraka can learn from him.” Deku adds, “I don’t think his attitude should overshadow the fact that he’s an amazing person, and maybe someone who could be just as amazing as a mentor.”
It’s been almost two years since Ochako had first met Deku, but it still never fails to amaze her whenever he praises Bakugo like this. She’s heard stories from when Deku and Bakugo were still in middle school, but they would always be told in a way where it would never be truly complete. Then again, it was Deku she was hearing it from. Ochako doesn’t think she would ever truly come to understand how tough those times must have been on him, but even that won’t stop Deku from listing all the things about Bakugo that he deemed amazing.
It was this sentiment from Deku that gave her the strength she needed to face Deku head on with a small smile, “Yeah.”
The boys eventually tangent to a conversation about Present Mic’s lecture when Ochako’s gaze finds its way to Bakugo’s table once again. Bakugo had Kirishima’s arm hooked around his neck and a deep scowl on his face that made her wonder how Kirishima was still alive and breathing, moreover, how his arm was still attached to his body. Despite this though, she somehow already knew the answer. Bakugo was someone who could blast your head off if you looked at him the wrong way, but at the same time he was also the kind of person who would push a friend to their limits no matter how much they tell themselves that they can’t do it. He’d be the type of person who would take absolutely no shit from anyone because he'd be too busy being the best version of himself he could be.
Bakugo’s scowl morphs into a grin in response to Mina hitting Kaminari upside the head and it sends a flutter to 3 different parts of her stomach. It’s probably the lack of food in her stomach right now, she should really get to eating.
Watching the captivating dynamic of the neighboring table, Ochako can’t help but wonder if he was asked the same question as her by his friends. Had he told them about her? What did they have to say, nevermind, what did he have to say?
She doesn't realize that she’s been staring for too long when Bakugo looks over to actually catch her staring. Ochako doesn’t know what possessed her to decide not to look the other way, but she doesn’t. Bakugo narrows his eyes as if to say The hell are you lookin’ at? and before her heart could leap out of her chest and yell at her to look away, she finally does. She lets out a heavy breath, not knowing she was holding hers the whole time.
---
The day goes by as it usually does, the only notable thing about it being the bomb disarming activity they had during hero training. Fortunately, All Might didn’t throw them into pairs again, this time grouping the class into teams of 4, her teammates being Iida, Momo, and Tokoyami. The reason for the increase of allies was due to the presence of civilians/dummies they had to evacuate while simultaneously having to disarm the bomb.
Iida stayed true to his word and beat his previous record, Ochako didn’t have much time to celebrate because she was already running to the nearest dumpster to hurl her guts out. Bakugo’s team however had the best time out of everyone, not that anyone was surprised by this, but the way he did it was what stuck with her the most.
Normally, a team’s initial strategy would be to evacuate the civilians first before dealing with the bomb itself, it’s that or the team would split up to tend to the civilians while another faction disarms the bomb. Bakugo’s strategy was to just simply allocate all manpower to disarm the bomb right off the bat and when accused of not cooperating with his team to get the other part of the job done he says, “Why would I waste my time evacuating civilians when I could just disarm the damn thing so no one would even need to be evacuated, fucking morons.”
His statement didn’t sit well with most of the class, but Ochako knew that Bakugo didn’t just do that for the sake of being selfish and arrogant, he did what he knew was the best option to take and no one could have seen it that way except for Bakugo.
Ochako’s thoughts subside and her attention returns to the sound of her footsteps bouncing off the empty halls of UA as she made her way to the room indicated on the schedule clutched in her hand, Mr. Aizawa had already made arrangements to allot an empty classroom for them to study in. She turns a corner and she spots Bakugo on his phone leaning against the doorway, already there waiting for her. The faint glow of the setting sun paints the hallway a soft shade of orange, wisps of Bakugo’s hair form shadows on the sharp features of his face. He looked at peace. Bakugo looks up at her, blood-red eyes holding her in place. Ochako could have sworn he had some kind of hidden quirk that paralyzed people dead on their tracks.
“Took you long enough.”

33 Legit Online Jobs That Pay $50,000+ From Home
Working remotely doesn’t have to mean taking a pay cut. There are more legit online jobs than ever. All it takes is being aware of the possibilities.
Below are 33 legitimate online jobs where you can earn over $50,000 a year — and most of them allow you to make your own schedule.
Plus, included are a number of valuable tips and resources that will help you land and succeed in your ideal online job.
Best Online Jobs
These top online jobs have the ideal mix of high demand, a low supply of talented individuals, and the ability to start earning fast. All you need is an internet connection and the motivation to get started.
#1. Proofreading
Quick summary: Earn money by proofreading books, academic papers, website content, audio transcripts and more.
Average pay: $17.50 per hour.
Pros: With no certification requirements, you can start earning fast.
Cons: Limited upside unless you decide to transition to a related high-paying field (such as editing).
If you’re the type of person that spots every typo and grammar mistake in the articles you read, consider a career as a proofreader. This is a great example of a job that needs no certification, and you can use your set of eagle eyes to make solid money.
With the explosion of web content that has occurred in recent years, it’s a job that’s in super-high demand. That means you can land your first client today, if you’re ready to start.
#2. Bookkeeping
Quick summary: Record and continuously update financial transactions for small businesses.
Average pay: $17.50 to $40+ per hour.
Pros: You’ll typically work with clients on a retainer basis, allowing you to earn a steady base of income.
Cons: Will need basic training to earn your first client.
At the top of most business owners’ list of “Least Favorite Work Activities” is bookkeeping. Of course, it’s a critical task for ensuring that a business runs smoothly and survives into the future.
If you’re someone who loves to work with numbers, you can earn very good money in the field. There are also a lot of opportunities to charge higher hourly wages the more you specialize.
And, just like proofreading, bookkeeping doesn’t require a certification.
#3. Start A Blog And Become An Influencer
Quick summary: Create a website that provides valuable information about a topic you care about.
Average pay: $0 to $10k+ per month.
Pros: High income potential.
Cons: Even experienced bloggers take nearly a year to earn a full-time living.
I started my first blog in 2009 and sold it two years later.
I launched this blog in August of 2016. Just over a year later, it was generating enough revenue that I felt comfortable leaving a job I’d held for over 10 years.
The great thing about a blog is that you’re building a sellable asset. A quality website sells for around 30X its monthly revenue. Therefore, if you’re able to make $1,333 per month, you have a $40,000 asset.
As for how to make money blogging, there are a number of ways.
These include:
Advertising — earn money by placing ads on your website.
Affiliate marketing — make money promoting other businesses.
Products and services — sell your own products and services to others.
Sponsored content — you can get paid for partnering with brands
One big upside to blogging is that it can be a great source of passive income. On the other hand, one downside is that it can take time to get up and running. As such, if you need money today, you might want to consider a different online job instead.
#4. Online Tutoring
Quick summary: Tutor students worldwide in English or other subjects.
Average pay: $18 per hour.
Pros: The ability to start earning in as little as a few weeks.
Cons: Limited upside.
One high-growth business industry right now is online education. And one of the fastest-growing niches within online education is online tutoring jobs.
There are now multiple websites that connect you with students all over the world who are looking to be tutored in a range of subjects.
When we ranked the best online tutoring sites, one of the top options was Education First.
EF is a U.S.-based company that pays as much as $20 per hour to start and offers cash bonuses for reaching certain teaching milestones.
Here are just a few of the benefits of working for EF:
The lesson plans and course materials are provided.
You can start teaching classes as quickly as two weeks after applying.
You can work when you want, where you want, with no need to worry about marketing your services.
No teaching experience is required, as EF considers your entire professional background and resume.
Apply with Education First.
VIPKid is another great online tutoring opportunity, although they get a lot more applications. As such, it’s better suited for those with more teaching experience.
You’ll need a bachelor’s degree to work for either company, but it doesn’t have to be in education and you don’t need an active teaching certification.
Apply with VIPKid.
Best Legit Part-Time Online Jobs (With No Fees Or Startup Costs)
What makes a great part-time online job?
Flexibility, fulfilling work, and the chance to earn as much by working part-time as others do from working full-time.
Here are the top part-time online jobs that meet these criteria.
#5. Social Media Marketing
Quick summary: Handle all social media tasks for small business owners.
Average pay: $20 to $100+ per hour.
Pros: Most social media clients are on a retainer basis.
Cons: Limited upside unless you’re willing to learn paid advertising, which can take time.
Many business owners don’t have the time to make consistent updates to their social media platforms, or to respond promptly to customer requests made via social media.
That’s why so many businesses today are looking to hire social media managers. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an 8% job growth rate is expected for social media marketing managers through 2028.
As long as you have the ability to post, curate and manage content on social media channels, you can start taking on clients today.
But the big money is in learning how to effectively deploy paid advertising, such as Facebook ads. Businesses need new customer leads, and you can earn premium wages if you know how to use things like micro-targeting to deliver ads to just the right audience.
This can be a great opportunity for college students, because the amount of time you need to spend on a project each week can be quite small (especially if you utilize automation), and the required schedule tends to be extremely flexible.
#6. Virtual Assistant
Quick summary: Work as a remote executive assistant doing a range of tasks.
Average pay: $18 to $35 per hour, according to Upwork.
Pros: The more efficient you become, the more clients you can add (and the more money you can make).
Cons: Most employers will want you to work certain hours of the day.
For years, most people thought of virtual assistants as low-paid overseas workers that could be trusted to handle basic administrative tasks.
But now the trend isn’t to hire a VA for $5 an hour. It’s to find the highest-quality VA possible. Someone who will really add value to your business.
And because of that, people are willing to pay significantly higher wages to the right person with the right skills and work experience.
So instead of just doing boring, repetitive tasks, you’ll be working for a successful business owner as a remote executive assistant.
Common tasks carried out by VAs include:
Answering email
Booking travel
Managing social media
Scheduling appointments
And more, depending on the field
Some VAs take on multiple clients, allowing them to earn over six figures a year from home. This means it can be one of the most lucrative remote jobs you’ll come across.
#7. Freelance Writing
Quick summary: Online writing jobs include things like drafting blog posts, articles, advertisements and more for clients.
Average pay: $15 to $40 per hour for beginners.
Pros: It’s a field that’s exploding in demand due to the growth of online publishing.
Cons: Standing out when you don’t have a lot of experience is difficult.
Freelance writing is one of the more lucrative side hustles I’ve tried. I started small, but in a year I was earning over $100 an hour.
Thanks to the growth of content marketing, it’s also a skill that’s more in-demand than ever.
#8. Photography
Quick summary: Supply stock photos that will be purchased and used by businesses.
Average pay: 20 to 50 cents per image sold.
Pros: A fun, fulfilling hobby that can double as a business.
Cons: Will take time to build up your inventory of photos available for sale.
One of the fasting-growing online markets is stock photography.
Businesses need quality stock photos for their websites, client presentations and more. If you love being behind a camera — even the one on your smartphone — you can get paid for uploading quality photos to stock photo sites.
You’ll earn anywhere between 20 and 50 cents per image sold. So, the goal is to have dozens of photos for sale, each generating daily commissions. This makes selling stock photography a great source of passive income, because you can get paid over and over again for work you only did once.
#9. Search Engine Optimization
Quick summary: Help small business owners get found online.
Average pay: $25 to $40 per hour for beginners.
Pros: Quality SEO specialists are in high demand.
Cons: Proving your value comes down to showing proof that past projects have worked — which makes it hard for beginners to land a job.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of helping businesses get found online — primarily on Google.
In fact, a recent study by Microsoft listed SEO as the most important hard skill for marketers to learn going forward in 2020.
In my experience, having managed local SEO campaigns in the past, there’s a lot of low-hanging fruit. That means you can drive a lot of revenue to a business just by implementing a basic set of SEO “best practices.” Therefore, you can charge a high hourly or project rate, knowing you’ll deliver results.
The best way to learn SEO is with hands-on experience. Personally, I learned SEO by starting a blog and seeing what worked and what didn’t.
With real proof of results on my resume, I was then able to obtain clients and earn a high rate for my work.
#10. Scoping
Quick summary: Edit transcripts for court reporters.
Average pay: $20 to $30 per hour.
Pros: Very flexible hours, as often you’ll be working off recordings.
Cons: Contracts can come and go based on your client’s hours.
Scoping is a little-known work-from-home job that’s been around for 30+ years.
A court reporter’s job is transcribing what’s said in the courtroom into written form, using a special system of shorthand so that they can keep up with the fast-moving proceedings. Court reporters then hire scopists to edit their transcripts.
Court reporters make money per page, not per hour. That’s why outsourcing the editing allows them to increase their earning potential.
Similar to proofreading and bookkeeping, no certification is required, there are very minimal start-up costs, and the earning potential is high.
#11. Graphic Design
Quick summary: Design engaging graphics.
Average pay: $25 to $40 per hour for beginners.
Pros: Pick your own clients and work in niches that interest you.
Cons: Will be a lot of project-based work, which can vary your income.
For the artists out there, graphic design is a great way to monetize your hobby. The web is becoming more and more visual — especially as mobile devices become the primary method of browsing.
The highest-paid graphic designers combine multiple skills into their designs. Knowledge in branding, sales and direct response marketing allows many graphic designers to charge over $100 per hour.
#12. Video Editing
Quick summary: Create engaging videos for social media, YouTube and websites.
Average pay: $25 to $35 per hour for beginners.
Pros: Growing in demand as the popularity of YouTube, Instagram and other video platforms increases.
Cons: Video editing requires a lot of focus, so it’s important you have the work environment and discipline to log longer hours.
Another online trend that’s picking up more steam year-by-year is video editing. Video editors with prior experience are in high demand today, with the potential to earn over $50 per hour the more you specialize.
#13. Marketing Automation Specialist
Quick summary: Design and implement automated digital marketing systems.
Average pay: $40+ per hour for beginners.
Pros: High income potential, with the ability to scale into an agency.
Cons: The best in the field have a range of skills, from copywriting to understanding the technical aspects of a particular software. These skills tend to have a longer learning curve.
I’m in a mastermind group that’s been meeting since 2009. We all do some type of marketing work as independent contractors for a range of businesses. We’ve each had our ups and downs. Yet, as I write this, things are going well for everyone.
Connecting the dots, we realized that once we committed to specializing in a growing digital marketing platform, we had to actually start turning clients away.
One of the fastest-growing segments is marketing automation, on platforms such as Ontraport and HubSpot. These platforms are experiencing explosive growth, and more are emerging all the time. Some other examples are Aweber, Convert Kit and MailChimp.
Taking a certification course to become a specialist can often land you in the $60 to $100 per hour range fast.
#14. Medical Transcriptionist
Quick summary: Edit medical transcriptions for local healthcare providers.
Average pay: Transcription jobs typically pay $10 to $25 per hour.
Pros: Steady source of income.
Cons: High startup costs to earn a credential.
There are dozens of data entry jobs online. Sites like Clickworker and Amazon’s Mechanical Turk provide typists with a lot of work opportunities, but they’re often micro jobs — quick tasks that pay almost nothing.
In order to make over $50,000 per year with data entry jobs, you’ll need to specialize. And beyond scoping, one of the best ways to specialize in data entry is by focusing on medical transcription.
The first thing to know about medical transcription is that it requires a certification, which you can get through a company like CareerStep. CareerStep offers a range of certifications in multiple work-at-home opportunities within the medical field.
With their medical transcription certification, which is approved by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity, you’ll prepare yourself to land an online job as a transcriptionist in an industry that’s hungry for qualified talent. CareerStep courses are not cheap (they start at $2,999), but they do offer both payment plans and discounts for military spouses.
If you’re not looking for a career and just want to make some extra income, there are a number of websites where you can get started with transcription jobs on a more casual basis.
The most popular sites are:
Rev — make 36 to 65 cents per minute of audio transcribed.
Go Transcript — earn up to 60 cents per minute of audio transcribed.
Scribie — pay starts at $5 to $25 per hour of audio transcribed.
DionData Solutions – hires only U.S.-based workers.
One thing worth noting about medical transcriptionists is that they’re seldom out of work for long, as more and more healthcare companies are looking to outsource tasks to keep overhead costs as low as possible.
#15. Voiceover Artist
Quick summary: Provide vocal recordings to be used in audiobooks, videos, films and more.
Average pay: $20 pay per hour.
Pros: Flexibility and freedom to work your own schedule.
Cons: As most work is contract-based, your income can vary drastically from month-to-month.
Voice acting is the art of reading a script and using your voice to bring that script to life. Quality voice actors are in especially high demand in the marketing field, as video marketing has exploded in popularity in recent years.
A good site to get started on is Upwork. There, you can gain experience working as a voiceover artist (and ideally find your niche).
#16. Technical Writing
Quick summary: Synthesize complex, high-level information for a specific audience to understand.
Average pay: $20 per hour for beginners.
Pros: One of the higher-paying freelance writing niches.
Cons: The work isn’t very creative compared to most traditional writing jobs.
For those who like to dive deep into learning new things — and aren’t afraid of tackling super-complicated topics — technical writing can be a great way to generate extra income.
As a technical writer, you’ll be responsible for writing user guides and other documentation.
Aside from being interesting work for those who love to research, it’s also widely recognized as one of the best-paying writing jobs available. Furthermore, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects growth at 8% per year through 2028.
#17. Customer Service Representative
Quick summary: Provide service to a businesses’ existing customers.
Average pay: $12 to $25 per hour.
Pros: Opportunities with Fortune 500 companies, which may provide benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
Cons: You may have to work irregular hours (especially when just starting out).
Most customer service jobs will not pay you $50,000. In fact, according to Payscale, the average hourly wage for work-at-home customer service jobs is $13.92.
However, if you’re smart about where to look and the skillsets to master, there is a path to becoming a high-earner in the field.
For starters, because there’s a large supply of customer service jobs, I’d avoid looking for jobs under the name “Customer Service Representative.” Research by TheJobNetwork showed that terms like “Customer Experience Associate,” “Customer Engagement Representative,” and “Customer Service Advisor” actually paid $18 or more per hour — well more than your average customer service job.
Two fields with a lot of overlap (and higher pay than customer service) are “Account Management” and “Customer Success Manager.” In these fields, you’ll be doing a lot of customer service work but other skills — such as cross-selling and retention — are required. As such, if you’re looking to become a high earner long-term, finding an entry-level position in account management or customer success might be your best bet.
Online Jobs That Pay Well For Entrepreneurs
The goal of a freelancer is to get good clients, do great work, and increase their value over time.
The goal of an entrepreneur is to build a repeatable system that provides value with or without the owner.
As an entrepreneur, you’re no longer working on projects for a set rate (or by the hour). Instead, your income correlates with the amount of value you can provide.
There are no limits to what you can and can’t do. But to narrow down your choices and help you figure out where to start, here are 10 ideas.
#18. Authority Sites
Quick summary: Build an informational website that helps people make purchasing decisions.
Pros: While working to build your authority site, you’ll learn very valuable, in-demand skills that can be transferred to your existing career.
Cons: Similar to a blog, it often takes a year or more to see a significant source of income.
A popular, highly-profitable and low-cost online business idea is building authority sites.
Authority sites are content-driven websites on a specific topic. They most often exist to help people like you and me make purchasing decisions.
Authority sites are a lot like blogs. Actually, if you were to build an authority site, a lot of the work is the same. The big difference is that blogs are more personal in nature. With a blog, you’re looking to build long-term relationships with visitors. Authority sites are much more transactional.
To best understand the idea, think back to the last time you searched for a review of a product. When you visited a website that had the review, that was likely an authority site.
As an example, I’m in the market for a sauna. So, I’ve visited different authority sites in the sauna niche, reading buyer guides and reviews.
The most popular way authority sites make money is through affiliate partnerships. With our sauna example, if I were to buy a sauna recommended by a particular site, that site would earn a commission.
And therein lies one of the big benefits to an authority site: since the owner doesn’t need to be present to make money, and they often drive traffic through passive sources like Google, such sites can be a source of passive income.
#19. Dropshipping
Quick summary: Sell items via a website and have them shipped directly from the manufacturer or wholesaler to the customer.
Pros: Can test the business model with very little money.
Cons: The dropshipping field is loaded with spammy marketing, so stick with learning the ropes from reputable sites like Shopify.
Shopify has created hundreds of opportunities for online entrepreneurs. Why? They made the process of selling online easy. From products and digital downloads to consulting services, over 1 million people use Shopify to run an online store.
One of the most common ways people get started is through dropshipping. The benefit of starting a dropshipping store is that orders are sent right to the customer. That means the store owners (like yourself) don’t have to hold inventory or deal with shipping.
And since you only need to order a product after a customer has bought it from your store, it’s a very low-cost business to start.
#20. Retail Arbitrage
Quick summary: Buy low and sell high.
Pros: A way for hobbyist and collectors to use their knowledge of a particular niche to make money.
Cons: Takes time and skill to find the best deals.
Do you love going to flea markets and garage sales, and browsing thrift stores? If so, you can make money online by flipping items for profit.
Think of this online business idea as buying an asset and selling it for a higher price. Your inventory can be anything you find at a garage sale or on a clearance rack.
The goal — and the key to making retail arbitrage work — is having an information advantage. This means understanding the market for what you’re buying better than the person who is selling that item.
Remember, the concept of arbitrage is based on the principle that a particular good has a higher price in one place than it does in another. That might mean it sells for more in California than it does in New York. But it might also mean that it sells for more online than it does in a brick-and-mortar store.
Winning at arbitrage means knowing how to figure out which items to buy and which ones to walk away from.
#21. E-Commerce Store And/Or Amazon FBA
Quick summary: Create your own online store or use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to sell physical products online.
Pros: Very high potential in a fast-growing field.
Cons: Higher startup costs. Money often has to be reinvested in the business.
Amazon FBA is a business idea that’s getting a lot of attention lately.
The idea is to buy products directly from a manufacturer or wholesaler, then sell them online via Amazon. The most popular option is to use Amazon FBA, which handles all the warehousing and shipping (the “fulfillment”) for you. In fact, you can even have the manufacturer or distributor ship the products directly to Amazon, so that you never have to physically touch the items.
But you don’t have to limit your selling to Amazon. You can also use FBA to ship products you sell on eBay or your own website. It’s much easier than packing and shipping everything yourself, and the shipping rates Amazon charges you are much lower than you’d pay to UPS or FedEx.
#22. Etsy Store Owner
Quick summary: Create and sell homemade crafts and digital products on the world’s largest creative marketplace.
Pros: You’re taking advantage of a fast-growing platform.
Cons: As Etsy has grown it’s become more competitive, with large companies creating stores on the marketplace.
When it comes to legit work-from-home jobs for moms, Etsy is near the top of the list.
Think of Etsy like eBay for creative people, as some of the most popular products on the platform include arts, crafts and jewelry.
You can either do Etsy as a business (there are many full-time sellers) or use it as a way to make extra money in your spare time.
#23. Create A Course
Quick summary: Create an online education course.
Pros: Can test demand for ideas fast by utilizing online teaching websites.
Cons: The below sites, which have an audience looking for courses, often take a large cut of your profits. The best long-term business model is building your own audience, but that can take time.
If you have expertise others may find valuable, you can create a course online and sell it. This used to be very hard, as you had to build your audience from scratch.
But two websites, Udemy and Skillshare, now provide access to an audience of people who are eager to learn about almost everything under the sun.
There are all types of courses available, so it’s a great way to create a legit online job of your own.
#24. Home Health Agency
Quick summary: Manage a local team of home healthcare providers.
Pros: Demographic trends, specifically the aging of the baby boom generation, have increased demand.
Cons: High startup costs, including licensure.
A major trend in our economy is the need for qualified home healthcare. The aging population of the United States, as well as seniors’ increasing desire for care inside their home, is driving this trend.
A big benefactor of this trend has been local home health agencies.
A home healthcare agency provides qualified care to local residents. As employees are working at client’s houses, an office isn’t required.
This is by no means an easy business to start. To begin, you’ll need certain licenses and certifications. These vary by state, as well as by the type of care you offer.
Non-medical care agencies have the lowest startup costs and barriers to entry. This type of agency provides day-to-day living help, such as meal-prep and housekeeping. In contrast, medical care agencies work with Medicare/Medicaid and have more complex responsibilities.
#25. Virtual Recruiter
Quick summary: Find talented employees for businesses.
Pros: High income potential for those with large existing networks.
Cons: If working for yourself, income can vary widely as you’re only paid when someone lands a job.
If you love to network, this is a great low-cost business to start. What you’re doing here is finding talent for employers. Payouts can be quite large, as some placement firms charge upwards of 25% (or more) of the employee’s annual salary.
#26. Insurance Agent
Quick summary: Sell property, casualty or life insurance from a home office.
Pros: Some insurance income is recurring, making for a quality source of passive income.
Cons: Competitive field, often competing with companies with billion-dollar ad budgets.
Having been in this field myself for over 10 years, I’ve seen a lot of growth from individuals starting their own insurance agencies from home. Startup costs are low, the hours are flexible, and the commissions can be quite high.
If I were to start an insurance agency from home, I’d focus on selling small business insurance. The premiums tend to be higher than those of auto and home policies, and there’s much less competition.
#27. Travel Agent
Quick summary: Book and coordinate travel for individuals or businesses.
Pros: Fulfilling way to earn more for those who love to travel.
Cons: Income can vary, as travel tends to spike at certain times of year.
Believe it or not, travel agents are still in demand. It just depends on finding the right niche. This is an especially good business for you if you have personal or professional travel experience, because you can provide your clients with insights they can’t get from a website.
Legit Online Jobs: Growing Industries Hiring Online

#28. Healthcare

#29. Sales And Business Development
Sales is one of the most in-demand and legitimate work-at-home jobs. If you produce results, you can get paid big money. Just about every industry needs quality salespeople.
#30. Accounting And Finance

#33. Legal

Online Job FAQ
How much do online work from home jobs pay per year?
When you work from home, you’ll usually (but not always) be classified as an independent contractor. That means you’re working on a per-hour or per-project basis, rather than for a set annual salary. As a result, your annual earnings can vary widely based on a number of factors. If you’re organized, motivated and efficient, you can often earn more money for the same amount of work as compared to a more traditional environment. But on the flip side, if you’re someone who finds it difficult to stay focused and has a tendency to coast through the day, you might end up making significantly less. That’s because as a freelancer or contractor, you’re only getting paid for the work you actually do. Being at home can be distracting, and it’s easy to end up with only four billable hours after an eight-hour workday. Your take-home pay will also depend on the types of contracts you’re able to win. You’ll make a lot more money as a paid social media manager than you will by doing online data entry jobs.
Where should I look for online jobs?
If you’re trying to get hired for a full-time position at a company, start your job search at FlexJobs — a great job board for finding remote work. As mentioned above, FlexJobs screens each listing before making it available to applicants. That’s a good thing, because the company’s research has shown that there are 53 scam job listings for every legit online job! Beyond FlexJobs, Indeed is another job board that’s worth checking out, as it has the most powerful search engine among job listing websites. If you’re looking for independent contractor or freelance work, sites like Upwork and Fiverr feature a bevy of legitimate online jobs.
How do I avoid work at home scams?
There are many scams when it comes to the advertising of work at home opportunities. That’s why, before applying for any job, you should research the company on Glassdoor, a site that allows former employees to leave reviews of the employer. You’ll find details such as average pay, growth opportunities, benefits, and more. A good rule of thumb is that if the company you’re looking to work for isn’t on Glassdoor, it’s not worth applying. If you’re searching for independent contractor jobs on Fiverr or Upwork, make sure to view the company profile before applying. On Upwork, you can even see how much the company has spent on freelancers, where it’s located, the average hourly rate they pay, and reviews from previous freelancers.
What are the qualifications to get an online work-from-home job?
As with any job, the necessary qualifications depend on the type of work you’re seeking. In general, if you need a certification to do the work in person, you’ll also need one to do it online. However, some jobs — such as freelancing writing and editing jobs — can be easier to get online if you have limited work experience. For example, while few newspapers will hire a journalist who has zero training, it’s fairly easy to gain a foothold as a content writer for a blog or website.
Legit Online Jobs With No Upfront Investment
The internet has made it much easier to make money from home. While many people are just looking for opportunities to make a few bucks here and there by taking online surveys or maximizing their cash-back shopping, you can also find legitimate work that pays just as much as — and often more than — offline options.
Whether your goal is to work full-time, part-time or run your own business, there’s no shortage of work-at-home jobs.
So get started today. Take at least one action: sign up for a free resource, update your resume, or even send that resume in. There’s a good chance you’ll be earning money online faster than you think.
Good luck!

American presidents lie. They always have. Just Google “Lyndon Johnson and the Gulf of Tonkin,” “Bill Clinton and NAFTA” or “George Bush and weapons of mass destruction.” Even Honest Abe likely told a fib or two.
But no U.S. president has ever lied as prolifically, constantly, insidiously and dangerously as Donald Trump. He never stops. He’s the Energizer Bunny of endless falsehood.
It’s enough to make even Orwell’s head explode.
Trump, who received votes from just one in four U.S. adults in 2016, claimed that he would have won the popular vote over Hillary Clinton were it not for the voter fraud of undocumented immigrants. The alleged criminal votes were never cast.
Trump called his 2016 Electoral College victory “The biggest electoral victory since Ronald Reagan.” It was no such thing.
Trump lied about the size of his inauguration crowd even as aerial photographs of the event contradicted his boasts.
He has repeatedly and preposterously claimed that the Latinx immigrant population is full of murderers, rapists and gang members. It is not.
Trump claimed that President Obama “had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower” just before his 2016 election victory. They were not.
He claimed to have as president-elect negotiated a deal to “save 1,100 jobs” at a Carrier plant in Anderson, Ind. He did no such thing.
He absurdly concocted a terrorist attack that never occurred, in Sweden, during his first month in office.
He claimed that the head of the Boy Scouts called him to say his speech was the best ever delivered to the Boy Scouts Jamboree. No such call ever took place. Trump’s terrible oration was widely reviled.
Trump claimed to have fired James Comey because the FBI director mishandled Hillary Clinton’s email scandal prior to the 2016 election, not because he was continuing to investigate Trump and the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. That was another baldfaced lie.
He claimed that white-nationalist and neo-Nazi marchers in Charlottesville, Va., were “protesting very quietly,” and that liberal and left counter-protesters “didn’t have a [protest] permit.” False and false.
Trump laughably told oil workers in North Dakota that environmentalists “didn’t know why” they opposed the ecocidal, petro-capitalist Dakota Access and Keystone-XL pipelines. Ridiculous.
Trump lied repeatedly and viciously about the number of people who diedduring and after Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
He ludicrously claimed to have led a strong federal response to the devastating storm in Puerto Rico. (He gave himself a “ten.”)
Trump absurdly claimed that his former national security adviser Michael Flynn didn’t do “anything wrong.” Flynn was later convicted for lying about his communications with the Kremlin during Trump’s presidential transition.
Trump farcically claimed that Paul Manafort never played a major role in his 2016 campaign. (Manafort chaired the Trump campaign up through the Republican National Convention that year.)
Trump falsely claimed that a Justice Department inspector general report exonerated him of collusion with Russia and obstruction of justice. The report did neither of those things.
Trump ridiculously claimed that Michael Cohen was never a big player in his career or campaign. Cohen was Trump’s longstanding personal attorney and “fixer,” and he too has been convicted on federal charges.
Trump has claimed to know nothing about the illegal campaign finance payoff of Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. Cohen exposed that lie this summer.
After Cohen turned himself in to federal authorities, Trump said that Cohen pleaded guilty to two counts of campaign finance violations that “were not crimes.” False. The violations are indeed federal crimes.
Trump unbelievably claimed not to have known that his son and son-in-law met with Russians claiming to have dirt on Hillary Clinton in Trump Tower in June 2016.
Trump helped concoct the White House lie that the real subject matter of that June 2016 meeting was U.S. adoption policy.
He says that China “has been attempting to interfere in the upcoming 2018 elections.” There is no evidence to support that charge.
He falsely claims to be a self-made billionaire, something that The New York Times shows to have been a lie. (His father staked his entire business.)
Trump says that he and the Republican Party passed a “middle-class” tax “reform.” He certainly knows that they enacted a plutocratic tax cut, a great windfall for big corporations and the richest 1 percent.
Trump absurdly claimed before the tax cut that “we [U.S.-Americans] pay more taxes than anybody in the world” (we don’t) and that the tax “reform” would “cost me a fortune.”
He absurdly said that “public lands will once again be available for public use” while handing over 2 million acres to private corporations for coal mining, oil drilling, uranium extraction and other environmentally disastrous industrial activities.
He falsely claimed that he was legally compelled to order a “zero tolerance” border policy last spring that separated Mexican and Central American children from their parents.
In defense of his good friends atop the absolutist, head-chopping Saudi Arabian regime (which sends kill teams to torture, kill, and vivisect dissenting journalists in foreign embassies), Trump claims that Saudis have purchased $110 billion worth of military equipment from the U.S. and that this purchase creates “five-hundred thousand jobs,” later inflated to ““1 million jobs.” ”in the U.S. His numbers here are absurdly exaggerated.
He claims without evidence that there are “people of Middle Eastern descent” in the latest Central American migrant “caravan” moving through Mexico towards the U.S.’ southern border.
He baselessly insisted that “Democrats are paying members of the caravan to try and get into the U.S. to harm Republicans in the midterms.”
He has sent U.S. troops to guard the border on the absurd lie that the beleaguered caravan constitutes a “national emergency.”
He preposterously claims that it is the mainstream media, which he calls “the enemy of the people,” and not him that has created our current climate of hatred and violence—even as he applauds a Montana congressman for body-slamming a young reporter.
Trump’s evasion of responsibility follows a hate-filled campaign and 21 months of ax-grinding in the Oval Office that has seen him call immigrants criminal gang members, murderers and rapists, while maliciously describing his political enemies and media critics and journalists as “evil,” “low lifes,” “low IQ” and “the most dishonest people on Earth.” Along the way, the openly sexist Trump has referred to women as “animals,” “dogs,” “horse-face,” “fat” and worse. The white supremacist who killed 11 people in a Jewish synagogue last Saturday was egged into violent action by Trump’s ridiculous and hateful caravan rhetoric.
The Trump Lie Machine is going into head-spinning and soul-numbing overdrive as the midterm elections draw closer.
Trump claimed earlier this year that leftist violence will break out across the country if Democrats reclaim Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. The absurdity speaks for itself.
Trump said in Arizona recently that immigrants had illegally taken over a city council in California. The claim was complete nonsense.
Trump has recently and insanely suggested that people are “rioting” in California “to get out of Sanctuary Cities. …They’re demanding to be released from sanctuary cities.” (This may be the single craziest thing I’ve ever seen Trump claim. It is truly bizarre.)
Trump is ridiculously claiming the Democrats will kick seniors off health insurance, abolish insurance protections for people with health problems, destroy Social Security, abolish U.S. borders and (I am not making this up) give “illegal” immigrants “free cars.” That’s right: “free cars” for “illegals.”
Trump repeatedly—36 times across seven political speeches this fall—called the Democrats “radicals.” Of course, the Democrats are a deeply conservative, Big Business-friendly, imperial/pro-military, and depressingly centrist apparatus. There isn’t a single genuine radical in their entire party.
Trump says that the “new platform of the supposedly ‘radical’ Democrats is to abolish ICE” (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement). That is flatly false.
Trump lies and distorts so relentlessly and profusely that tracking and fact-checking his false statements has become a full-time job for journalists at home and abroad.
One of these journalists is Daniel Dale, the Washington bureau chief of the Toronto Star. He calculates that Lyin’ Don has made four false claims per day since being sworn into the presidency 21 months ago with his hand on the Bible.
When Dale was first assigned the Trump beat in September 2016, he found the Republican candidate “so incessantly dishonest” that his habit of twisting and inverting reality required a specific focus “separate from the day-to-day news coverage I was doing.” Dale looked forward to being “freed from this [ugly] task” of covering Trump’s persistent untruths once Hillary Clinton prevailed, as was widely expected. Trump won “and so, [he] had to continue.”
What accounts for this endless mendacity and rhetorical manipulation? Speaking to “Public” Broadcasting System “NewsHour” anchor and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member Judy Woodruff last week, Dale theorized that Trump and the Republican allies and outlets who repeat his outlandish and bogus assertions want to drive media coverage and political discourse away from topics they wish to avoid—health care, the Mueller investigation and “anything else the president doesn’t want us to talk about,” such as Trump’s still unreleased tax returns, climate change and the party’s regressive tax cuts.
Dale is on to something there, no doubt, but the real meaning of the president’s Twitter-amplified Fibby Pulpit is deeper and darker than mere diversion and partisan spin. As Chris Hedges suggests in his latest book, “America: The Farewell Tour,” Trump and his party’s continuing defiance of reality suggests that the United States is sliding into “corporate totalitarianism”:
Trump and the Republican Party represent the last stage in the emergence of corporate totalitarianism. Pillage and oppression are intensified by the permanent lie. The permanent lie is different from the falsehoods and half-truths uttered by politicians like Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. The common political lie these politicians employed was not designed to cancel out reality. It was a form of manipulation. … But Clinton did not pretend that NAFTA was beneficial to the working class when reality proved otherwise. Bush did not pretend that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction once none were found.
The permanent lie is not circumscribed by reality. It is perpetuated even in the face of overwhelming evidence that discredits it. It is irrational. Those who speak in the language of truth and fact are attacked as liars, traitors and purveyors of ‘fake news.’ They are banished from the public sphere once totalitarian elites accrue sufficient power, a power now granted them with the revoking of net neutrality. … “The result of a consistent and total substitution of lies for factual truth is not that the lie will now be accepted as truth and truth be defamed as a lie, but that the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world – and the category of truth versus falsehood is among the mental means to this end – is being destroyed,” Hanna Arendt wrote in The Origins of Totalitarianism. …
The permanent lie turns political discourse into absurdist theater. … Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin claims he has a report that proves the tax cuts will pay for themselves and will not increase the deficit – only there never was a report. … The permanent lie is the apotheosis of totalitarianism. It no longer matters what is true. … When reality is replaced by the whims of opinion and expediency, what is true one day becomes false the next. Consistency is discarded. Complexity, nuance, and depth and profundity are replaced with the simpleton’s faith in threats and force.
Consistency is discarded. The Trump administration has cited “states’ rights” in trying to roll back federal requirements that out-of-date coal and nuclear plants be shut down, even as it endeavors to federally negate the state of California’s right to enforce comparatively stringent emission regulations.
Republican Congressional candidates run campaign commercials proclaiming their commitment to retaining the Affordable Care Act’s provision prohibiting health insurance companies from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions at the same time that the GOP is viciously challengingthat provision in court.
Trump blames the nation’s bourgeois media and a timid, centrist Democratic Party for the hatred, incivility and demonization that pollute U.S. politics while he calls his opponents “evil” and celebrates violence against liberals and journalists.
It is important to understand, as Hedges does, that the Trump-led assault on veracity, evidence and our very ability to separate truth from falsehood has been able to gain traction only because a decades-long corporate coup has devastated and discredited public education, academia, organized labor and the legal and criminal justice systems. It has done all this and more while turning the Democratic Party into what the late Princeton political scientist Sheldon Wolin called the nation’s Inauthentic Opposition.
Think of this distinctively American “corporate-managed democracy” and “inverted totalitarianism” as the nation’s pre-existing authoritarian condition for the rise of an Amerikaner-style fascism.
In the face of what an authoritarian like Trump and his white-nationalist Republican Party have done over the last two years of one-party rule—an annulment of what’s left of the U.S. Constitution’s much-ballyhooed “checks and balances”—there’s no credible moral argument against the notion that progressives living in contested districts should choose the lesser of two evils in next week’s midterm elections. Adolph Reed Jr., Noam Chomsky and Arun Gupta’s warnings about the dangers of a Trump presidency have been richly born out. I, for one, should have paid them more heed.
Still, we on the left, what’s left of it, should nonetheless retain our capacity to be properly nauseated by a yard sign I recently saw in arch-liberal, super-blue Iowa City, Iowa. Surrounded by other, smaller signs with the names of a handful of dismal local and statewide Democratic candidates, it read “MAKE AMERICA GOOD AGAIN: Vote.”
Please. The notion that the richly bipartisan corporate totalitarianism of which Trump is the apotheosis can be reversed, and the nation made “good” simply by voting Herr Donald and the Republicans out of office is a childish fantasy.
That, too, is a Great Lie. As marchers celebrating a rare legal victory over a white supremacist U.S. police state in Democratically controlled Chicago chanted last month, “The whole damn system is guilty as Hell.” It’s the whole damn system that must be democratized from the bottom up. From the dismal dollar Democrats, The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, “P”BS, Tom Steyer, the Gates Foundation, the Brookings Institution, the CFR, the Atlantic Council, the Obama and Clintons on the so-called left, to the radically reactionary Republicans, the Koch brothers, the Mercers, the Heritage Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute, Fox News, the Weekly Standard, the Hudson Institute, the Hoover Institution, and the American Legislative Exchange Council, Breitbart, right-wing talk radio, the Sinclair Broadcasting Co., the Federalist Society and more on the actual right, imperialism, racial inequality and class rule have brought us to this menacing pre-fascist moment.

>Interesting that our country seems to have the worst gun violence yet Australia doesn't Canada doesn't United Kingdom doesn't Norway doesn't New Zealand doesn't. So how are we different that we can't control this interesting.
>Australia, Canada, UK, and Norway (idk about new Zealand considering its population) is nowhere near Americas numbers. With what I mentioned (population) and other cultural factors in this argument, their main issue, although not with guns, definitely stems from domestic terrorism, to government control. All thanks to the removal of their firearms of course.
>So I guess we will go ahead with thoughts and prayers every time an innocent child is blown apart at least that's what I'm getting from the return posts you are okay with children being torn apart.
>nice. Yeah instead of respecting the deaths or the ppl who are traumatized by them you're using them as a ploy to push your fear mongering. Yes I am a Christian that encourages and welcomes prayers, but that school was already a gun free zone, what more do you want??
>how many cops and law enforcement were at the school Ulvade they had plenty of guns how many were available to take that gunman down.
Cops take bad guys down.
You ppl bitch.
Cops don't do shit.
You ppl bitch.
Cops exist.
You ppl bitch.
>Look, Ulvade was a complete dog shit situation with everyone involved it shouldn't have happened and those cops should be flogged for the lack of action, especially the one with the wife. Fuck them, fuck the parents.
Further more if you actually took ten minutes to research, you can actually find evidence of corruption at play. From the cops taking their sweet time, knowing of the shooter and even letting him shoot up a retirement home across from the school, to the DEMOCRATIC election that took place a week later (on the topic of gun control no less).
All of it was foul play, and if cops aren't going to do their jobs to "serve and protect" isn't that grounds to get a gun to protect my kids? The cop won't and death is not an option for me or my kids.
I'm going to go easy on you for this one tho and cut you some slack since Ulvade literally was talked about for a day or two, and then was dropped. So nobody really knows much of what happened and most of everything dropped it as opposed to a few YouTubers bringing it up a blimp of the year.
>Has Robin Williams said guns with people don't kill people apes with guns kill people.
>Are you going to disprove him? No? Oh ok.
>When all the other civilized Nations have not the kind of death statistics that we have with guns something is wrong.
>yeah guys, like Canada. Where they have free healthcare and free dental and LGBT rep and black ppl and-

-sorry for lack of pixels.
Individual freedoms are definitely a high cost in America, but I would rather take care and look after myself as opposed to the government giving and taking shit from me.
(note: same dude to suggest that cops are incompetent btw)
>And again what people are saying from the post I have reviewed is that you are okay with a child's had exploding has an AK-47 bullet slams into their head splattering their brains on the wall with her blood as an adhesive. That's what you're saying right?
Why and how can you be so casual about talking about kids getting their heads exploded? That's sus.
Anyways-
"a true AK-47 has a fully automatic setting
which is illegal in the United States."
-google.
Criminals breaking the laws. Shocker.
I really have nothing else to add here that I didn't already say. Michael, I do not hate or disrespect your takes, in fact I hope this can open a discussion. You obviously come from a frustrated and scared/traumatized place that just wants the agony to end, even temporarily. I do too. I get it. However I think you're definitely ill informed about the topic at hand. Obviously you can still be anti gun and pro gun free areas, but I also think looking at actual stats could help you better understand the argument and situations a little better. How?

Consider the fact that more gun related deaths are of suicides and not homicides.
Like, instead of going on the ppl who use guns responsibly, share mental health resources and other stuff like that. Just my two cents tho.
Interesting that our country seems to have the worst gun violence yet Australia doesn't Canada doesn't United Kingdom doesn't Norway doesn't New Zealand doesn't. So how are we different that we can't control this interesting. So I guess we will go ahead with thoughts and prayers every time an innocent child is blown apart at least that's what I'm getting from the return posts you are okay with children being torn apart. How many cops and law enforcement were at the school Ulvade they had plenty of guns how many were available to take that gunman down.
Has Robin Williams said guns with people don't kill people apes with guns kill people
When all the other civilized Nations have not the kind of death statistics that we have with guns something is wrong.
And again what people are saying from the post I have reviewed is that you are okay with a child's had exploding has an AK-47 bullet slams into their head splattering their brains on the wall with her blood as an adhesive. That's what you're saying right?
#long#long post#sorry#I'm just so passionate#like i am a survivor of attacks#and having a gun is definitely more useful than not#that's just me tho-

The choices we make
This week there have been many things on my mind, but if there is one thing in particular I could discuss it would probably be the topic of us. I realize “us” is a strange idea for one person and whoever is reading this blog to refine without context, so bear with me. Earlier this week I read a very strange paper that was written from a point of view I hadn’t heard voiced extensively in regards to what we know today as human history and culture. It was Jared Diamond’s 1987 paper, “The Worst Mistake in the History of the Human Race.” In the article, Diamond proposes that the single largest error humankind has made was the adoption of agriculture and the departure from a nomadic, hunter gatherer lifestyle. When I first read the paper I thought what Diamond was suggesting was crazy, how could this massive shift, regarded as the beginning of true human civilization, be a mistake? However, as the week churned along the ideas stayed ever present in the back of my mind as I mulled them over, and after thinking about it and discussing the ideas with friends, arguments for both sides began to form.
The first and most common side is pro agricultural reformation. It’s a process most of us have heard at some point, agriculture allowed us to gather geographically, this in turn resulted in the creation of cities, which allowed for the diversification of society, which allowed for the development of art, technology, and the collective advances in human civilization we are living in the spoils of today. Agriculture allowed us to feed growing populations and gave the majority of the population in cities who weren’t primary producers the spare time to create, something we regard as fundamentally human. Over the millennia, this time allowed for the rise of science and the discovery of medicine to keep us alive, and the use of previously unknown and unusable materials to shape the world we live in, in short, that fateful shift 10,000 years ago provided the foundation for human civilization to survive and flourish into what it is today. Without it, none of our progress would have been possible. That progress however, may have come at a cost.

(Manhattan Before and After, an artistic recreation, Mike Gibson, 2012)
This is where the second argument comes in, and it has some pretty strong backing. Before humans congregated in towns and cities, we lived in small nomadic bands and didn’t have a lot of contact with other groups. The amount of land needed for resources was much larger as well and it took more work to raise fewer children. These factors were some of many that limited the population density of our pre-agricultural societies. Once agriculture was introduced and cities formed, it was easier to feed more people with less land and human input, so the population exploded. More people coupled with a denser and stationary population, as well as contact with livestock, became a breeding ground for disease. Of course, sickness existed before people began to accumulate in close urban quarters, but this new lifestyle made transmission almost unavoidable. As these societies developed, so did the roles within them. The ideas of class and status played a minor role in a hunter gatherer lifestyle, there may have been a leader, but everyone had a valued role to play in the groups survival. Now divisions of class evolved with the changing society and the rich profited while the poor suffered. Almost parallel to this was the evolution of divisions of sex. As societies developed the role of women changed too, with history showing for the worse. Traditionally, women living a nomadic lifestyle would have few children, or one young child for a few years because it was difficult to move around with any more. Now that humans were stationary though, this restriction was lifted and there was incentive to create as many working hands for the farm as possible. This went as far as early settlers in Quebec being taxed if their daughters were not married and having children by 13 to 14 years of age. These divisions may not have evolved without the introduction of agriculture.
The final and potentially most devastating impact of our evolving society is the level to which we exploit our planet. We have shifted from coexistence to a mindset of domination, where nature exists to meet our needs and we as a society have ignored the needs of nature. This process is recent in the past few hundred years, but it is interesting to think about the state of the planet had we let things be as they were. Of course, we can’t say because we chose our path and have to live with the choices our species has made. Were these choices for the better, or the worse. I personally don’t have a definitive answer yet, but I will continue to think about it and welcome anyone to join in the discussion sparked by this paper. You can read it here.

Must-Have Tools for Content Creators to Help Make Money
For many social media influencers, creating content is not an easy job. Before really posting something, you need to think about the topic of your content first, write scripts, take pictures or shoot a video, and finally edit them. And this whole process may cost you several days or a couple of weeks. So, it's very necessary to have the following tools to improve your efficiency.
1. Google Trends

It's vital for content creators to know what's happening every day so as to keep up with the trends. So the first tool recommended is Google Trends.
This is a free tool that can help you know about the most searched words in real-time or in a day. You can also find the list of most searched words every year. With this tool, you will not miss any trends anymore.
Besides, searching keywords on Google Trends is also supported. If you are interested in a certain topic and want to make some content of that, you can search related keywords about this topic on Google Trends to have a better understanding of the popularity of these words in different areas and times.
2. Exploding Topics
Sometimes trends may come out accidentally, and when you figure it out, it could be too late to make any content. But with Exploding Topics, you may find it easier to react quickly before trends really take off.
Exploding Topics is a tool that uses an algorithm to provide users with insights into rising and new trending topics. This means that you can predict the trends and get your content ready before it really goes viral.
It has a free version, but if you need more, you can choose the paid Pro version.
3.WinInfluncer
This is a platform that focuses on micro-influencer marketing. It provides a new way for micro-influencers to find collaborations and get paid efficiently and easily. You can find paid promotion tasks by category on this platform, and get quick responses from the brands, which saves you a lot of time.
Besides, the commission for the tasks will be held by the platform until the task is really completed. This can help protect both the influencers and brands so as to reduce disputes.
Most importantly, after completing the task, you may get not only commission, but also free samples, exclusive promo codes for your fans, etc.
Recently, WinInfluencer offers a $5 bonus for new users, and no subscription fee is required. So, if you are looking for brand collaborations, try it now.
4.Hashtagify.me
This tool is useful for content creators on Twitter and Instagram. If you want to add to hashtag to your posts to increase the exposure but you want to know if it's popular. You can use Hashtagify.me to search this hashtag. The popularity and related hashtags will be shown. You can even know which influencers have used it before.
5. Answer the Public
If you have no idea of which topic your next posts should include, you can try Answer the Public. After typing a keyword, you will get spider diagrams of lots of topics related to this keyword from various aspects. With these clues, you may come up with some interesting topics to talk about in your next posts.
But please note that you can only search for two words for free a day.
6. Grammarly
You may have heard about this tool before. It's a well-known tool for writing. It can check your text and find out common and complex grammatical mistakes by using the AI technology. Besides, it can tell the tone from your text. These functions can help content creators improve the posts and make the audience feel more comfortable.
7. Canva
What your videos or pictures look like can affect the performance of your posts as well. So, another necessary tool for content creators is Canva. It's a popular tool for creating social media graphics.
According to Canva, the free version provides more than 250,000 free templates, over 100 design types and 5GB of cloud storage. If you want more, you can go for the Pro version.

Is influencer marketing right for your industry?
Somehow we live in a world where you can read studies from the likes of Linqia claiming “92 per cent of marketers who use influencer marketing find it successful”, followed, on the same day, by a half-dozen recent articles about influencer marketing being dead.
Given this rollercoaster of information, it’s hard to know if influencer marketing is right for you and your industry. Some people still swear by it, while others have sworn off it.
So is your industry rife with influencer opportunities? In this article we’ll aim to find out by looking at:
Whether influencer marketing will work in your industry. How to tell if you should be using it. Alternatives if you reckon it’s not right.
Part 1: Which industries is influencer marketing right for?
The short answer: Any.
The long answer: Seriously. Any. It really doesn’t matter what industry you’re in! Influencer marketing is all about leveraging the power of personalities who have the power to sway other people’s opinions on a topic. Because the internet is for anyone and everyone, the actual industry vertical is almost irrelevant, as every industry has its influencers.
Yes some of these personalities have larger followings than others, but because influence is about influence, not just follower count, you can talk to personalities with small, niche followings and still get excellent engagement compared to those whose brands are followed by myriad disinterested casual fans.
Here’s a little proof: A HelloSociety study found that micro-influencers could be as much as 6.7 times more efficient at engagement than influencers with large followings.
Key takeaway: It may appear that you need to be a game developer, beauty product manufacturer or Silicon Valley tech giant to find good influencers, but this simply isn’t true. Every industry has its influencers – after all, everyone needs guests to speak at their annual conferences, right?
Part 2: How to tell if influencer marketing is right for you
So we know that it doesn’t matter what your industry is. Property, automotive, heck even custom wooden office desks – there’s somebody out there who will be qualified to promote your product. What’s next for you, then, is not the question ‘is my industry right?’ but ‘are my business goals right?’.
Influencer marketing has caused controversy in some circles because it has at times proven ineffective. That’s because it isn’t a magic wand that makes you famous. It’s a tool like any other, with correct and incorrect applications.
Getting those applications right starts with knowing your marketing goals, which we’ll discuss more now.
Influencer marketing isn’t a magic wand – it has correct and incorrect applications.
How to use influencer marketing
Use influencer marketing for: Reach and awareness at the top of the marketing funnel, with some crossover to the mid-funnel depending on the influencer. Build long-term campaigns, as ongoing relationships with your influencers and their audience is key to success.
When influencers create content with your product, they are speaking to a large number of relevant audience members. This is going to introduce a large number of people to your business for the first time. As we know from the marketing funnel, this is a user base that isn’t ready to buy yet, but now knows your name for future consideration.
Some influencers, for example product reviewers, introduce new users into the middle of the funnel instead.
Don’t use influencer marketing for: Short-term campaigns where you need fast results, Conversions can be a tricky goal to achieve via influencers.
Influencer marketing is a long-term marketing tool. It gets more effective over time as you build relationships with influencers and learn who is and isn’t effective.
Any campaign where you need big, fast results might not be appropriate for influencer marketing. The reason being that it can take time to find the right influencers and build relationships with them – although their actual act of posting about you can generate quick results once this has occurred.
Additionally, as influencer activity is notoriously tricky to measure – “determining the ROI” of influencer campaigns was the top challenge of 2018 in this area, according to the Linqia study linked earlier – you might have difficulty determining whether or not this new audience converted.
Influencer marketing has positively exploded in the age of #socialmedia – so will this new avenue for reaching a younger audience survive the new year? https://t.co/3A5e1cZU9G pic.twitter.com/rc2aiNEtzE

Wait, so I can’t use influencers in the lower funnel?
You absolutely can, but it’s a little trickier than those top-funnel goals as you need more than just a simple shout out or mention.
Micro-influencers with highly engaged followings are considered best by many marketing pros for bottom-funnel business goals. That’s because they have more engaged followings, and remember that engagement is key to influence, not follower count.
These are some tactics that other businesses have used successfully for BoFu influencer marketing, particularly with niche influencers:
1. Collaborating: A basic shout out won’t do it, but actually collaborating with an influencer could. For example, US business Lord & Taylor got 50 fashion Instagrammers to each wear the same dress from their latest line. The ‘grammers then did what they do best – posted a high-quality fashion photo, in this case wearing the dress. The product wasn’t just mentioned, it informed the entire substance of the content. The dress sold out the following weekend.
2. Affiliate marketing: Affiliate marketing is where you sell something via someone else (in this case, an influencer). The affiliate then gets a cut of the sale, which is their incentive to take part. Influencers are adept at weaving affiliate marketing deals into their content – some use unique discount codes, some use links, but both have the same intention. They add it into their content, and you as the business can track users coming via those unique links.
To summarise
Is influencer marketing right for you?
You’ll need to understand what your business goals are, and what you hope to achieve. Influencer marketing can be used effectively at the top of the marketing funnel and in some ways at the bottom, but in all cases it typically requires a high degree of relationship building.
While it is cost effective, it can be time consuming. If you have the time and suitable goals, it sounds like you’re onto a winner. If you don’t, we have some alternatives for you…
Part 3: Alternatives to influencer marketing
Yeah OK, obviously all types of marketing are technically alternatives to influencer marketing. Don’t go getting smart. We’re focusing on digital strategies that are similar in nature to influencer marketing, but don’t require influencer involvement.
We’ll cover:
Paid advertising Event hosting Your own social media User generated content Creating an influencer of your own
1. Paid advertising
You may recall we mentioned that influencer marketing wasn’t ideal for fast solutions. Well, paid advertising is. Whether you choose Facebook, Google Ads or another platform more relevant to your users, paid advertising is one of the quickest ways to get your content in front of more users online.
That said, as soon as the money stops rolling in, so too do the customers. Paid advertising used by itself gets costly over time. We recommend you pair it with a long-term solution like SEO content or influencer marketing,
So you have a solution that starts slow and gets better in addition to a solution that starts quickly but can be turned off later.
Paid advertising is only as effective as the amount of budget you feed it.
2. Event marketing
Event marketing is where you host an event specifically to promote a product, service or your brand in general. It doesn’t have to just be a product roll out, but could be educational (like a Hubspot conference, for example). In either, the event heavily features your brand.
Event marketing has a number of key benefits, but the big ones are:
It promotes brand awareness. It’s a chance to network with key people in your industry. It can generate leads, as attendees offer their emails on sign up. It can drive sales.
If you invite influencers to speak at your event, that’s a double-whammy!
3. Your own social media
Social media marketing isn’t just for influencers. Are you posting regularly on your various profiles? Do you even have various profiles?
If not, you need to get serious about social. It’s a direct link to your audience, where you can chat with them, answer questions, post content and pay for advertising on platforms with millions, if not billions, of users.
To get started on revamping your social presence, check out our infographic “Clean up your social media pages with this checklist”.
4. User generated content
User generated content is when people create content for your brand without being paid to do so – they simply want to.
In its most basic form, this could be asking people to include certain hashtags in their social posts – hashtags that are linked to your business, of course. Every time someone uses these tags, it promotes your brand’s campaign.
Another example would be when businesses repost user content, thus encouraging more creators to make content to be reposted. Software giant Adobe uses this regularly, asking users to submit creative work using certain hashtags, which it then posts to its own page (this is an awesome relationship between a brand and creators that use its products).

Other examples of user generated content include product reviews, unboxing videos, tutorials and general blog posts about a topic.
5. Your own influencer
If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em right? There’s no reason you can’t try to create your own influencer to then help promote your brand. Maybe that future influencer is you!
So how does one create such a magnificent beast?
Well, it’s time consuming. But it could have serious long-term benefits that are even more cost effective than paying outside influencers.
How?
Build your expertise: Create your own high-level content, network in your industry, speak at events and become a part of the conversation. The more you do this, the more ‘expert’ your persona will become.
Leverage other influencers: Other influencers can help you become an influencer yourself. Create conversations and relationships with relevant parties on a personal level, not a brand level. Sharing their content and engaging with their content (i.e. commenting) is a good way to start this.
Look after your followers: Followers aren’t sheeple that will follow you no matter what. If you don’t respect the relationship, they’ll move on. Engage with your community, answer questions, have conversations and make it a two-way street.

Conclusion
Is influencer marketing right for your industry? Yes! And it doesn’t matter which one you’re in. It might take longer to find relevant influencers if you’re in a very niche space, but chances are they are out there somewhere.
Is influencer marketing right for your brand? That depends more on what you want to achieve, how quickly you want to achieve it, and how much energy you can dedicate to the attempt. Influencer marketing is not a magic make-me-famous wand, but it does work when used well.
