I kept meaning to send in a request when I saw you hit 1.2k. CONGRATULATIONS by the way!
Could I ask for number 14 off of the 'normal prompts' list? With mentor ezio and the gn!reader/m!reader from arrows and accidents?
Again Congratulations!!!
07/07/2022: AHHHH YOU'RE REFERENCING ONE OF MY FICS!! love u forever tim (?) YES ABSOLUTELY; that fic is one of my favourites! I hope I can do you proud once again! (Thank you so so much!! So kind of you <33) I'm gonna slap this one in the same universe as A&A, then, and hopefully add some seasoning!)
A/N post writing: this was supposed to be a drabble o.O also Ezio might be a little OOC but we'll find out ig lol -- I tried to do this quite quickly to get the ball rolling so I'm sorry if it's a bit of a wonky one!
M!Reader x Ezio Auditore
#14: "You're telling me to calm down? You're the one who's been shot!"
You were a better assassin than before the accident.
After recovering, you had trained twice as hard to regain your lost time, rebuilding muscle and remembering old muscle memory, the familiar feeling running deep through your bones.
What you couldn't evade, however, was your mentor's watchful eye.
Every wince, every phantom pain, Ezio would notice. And every time he'd notice, he'd force you to take a break. At first, you listened; it was important to ensure you didn't make anything worse. But as time went on, it became more of a hindrance to your training; chronic pain would be something you'd have to deal with from now on, and Ezio could not keep interrupting your training like this. Some days were more manageable than others, but there were still times where you found yourself clutching a table or leaning against a wall to stop your knees from buckling, and Ezio had helped you through these episodes each time. The training had improved the pain, but your skills were not progressing at the rate they should be, because of one man in particular.
"Smetti," Ezio said once again. You swallowed the groan in your throat, from both the pinch in your abdomen and the irritation growing in your chest. You panted heavily, glaring at Ezio, who was leaning against the fence, staring at you and your sparring partner.
"Ezio, please. This is getting out of hand."
"You will not perform your best when you are in pain."
"What will happen if this happens on a mission? I cannot just ask the Templar with the axe to wait while I catch my breath." He sighed, avoiding your gaze. "I am fine, Ezio. I am recovered. I am more than well enough to go on missions again--"
"No."
You gritted your teeth. "What?"
"You aren't ready."
Running a hand through your hair, you huffed. "Fine... What if you came with me?"
Ezio raised an eyebrow.
"I'm serious. If you don't think I can look after myself in the city, why not come with me? Then I can prove to you that there is no need to worry."
He paused for a moment. "I will talk to Mario."
The excitement that flooded your veins suddenly grew hard to suppress. "You will not regret this, mentor."
"Hmm." He released an amused hum, before vaulting over the wooden boundary to the villa.
-----------------------
The mission was simple; recover the intel from the courier.
The caveat? You weren't exactly able to hide in plain sight.
"Un altro?" you muttered to yourself, ripping another poster off the side of a building. It was a drawing of Ezio, albeit with his hood up, but his outfit stood out in any crowd who knew what they were looking for. "Ezio, I'm beginning to think you should consider keeping to the hideout until you lose some notoriety. You never said--"
"Non dire sciocchezze, Y/n," came the reply. You turned to watch him peer around the corner, no doubt watching for Borgia patrols. "They won't even know we are here."
"You're only here because you don't trust me."
"He's here." Ezio ignored you, disappearing around the wall.
You blinked. "Ezio, wait!" You ripped the poster into pieces before pursuing into the mass swarms of people. The crowd was thick in some places and thinner in others, and your eyes slipped from his form multiple times. You pushed between all these people, who gasped and cursed you for your impertinence each time you gently pushed them aside. Bending around the crowd, you paused when you saw a group of four soldiers whispering among themselves, eyes fixated on the group of people Ezio stood with.
You battled with what to do; your mentor seemed unaware, his own attention focused on the courier in the opposite direction. The only instinct that came to you (rather slowly, you reckoned in hindsight) was to distract. Picking up a jagged stone by your feet, you moved as close to the patrol as possible, before finding your target; a horse. You waited until it came just past the guards before throwing it at the horse's rear with considerable force. It landed on target, and chaos erupted as four hooves became two, clawing the air in surprise. With the guards' attention averted, you crossed the street, grasping Ezio by the shoulder. "Mentor, we must leave. It's too dangerous."
He watched the scene unfold, face almost unreadable. "Bene," he said. "The courier will house himself at a brothel for the night; we shall infiltrate under darkness."
You released a tense breath, relief replacing it.
"Assassini!" A hand shoved you forwards, and suddenly you were running. The cobblestones bit through the soles of your boots as Ezio led the way, ducking into back alleys. He led as if he had built these hidden paths himself. You ducked into the shadows, not taking a second to register the route.
Almost to safety, You both turned the last corner, practically freezing in your tracks. "No," Ezio muttered. "Cazzo!" Ezio ran to the crates blocking the alley. The docks lay on the other side; a shipment just landed in port. You glanced at the walls of the buildings opposite; smooth as butter. The raucous shouting grew closer. You turned back to Ezio, who was similarly scanning his surroundings, before his gaze dropped to the corner of the blocked alleyway. "Y/n! Here." He gripped the underside of some lodged crates and pulled, creating a gap just big enough to slip through. "Go."
"Mentor--"
"Go!" He strained under the weight, and you dropped to crawl through the small opening he created. You rushed to reach the other side, scrambling to your feet to transfer the weight. "I have it!"
The crates drastically grew heavier as Ezio released them, and you gasped under it; you had not yet recovered to your peak strength, and this sudden extremity challenged your body.
A gunshot went off.
"Ezio?!"
The crates pinned you to the spot; you could do nothing but wait. When his arms emerged, you couldn't help but sigh, inadvertently lowering the blockade. "Y/n!" he chastised.
Shifting again, you pulled the crates up for the few seconds Ezio had to escape. Once he pulled himself onto one knee, you dropped the crates. "Ezio, stai bene?"
He was as still as a rock, breathing deep. For a moment, he attempted to stand, before collapsing onto his side with a groan. "Ezio? Ezio?!" You moved to his side, eyes scanning for injuries before you caught a glimpse of the blood seeping out from his fingers. Ezio's face was slick with sweat already, Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. "Tell me what to do! Tell me how to help you!"
Your mentor's free hand grabbed you by the scrunch of your robes. "Calm down."
"Calm down?!" your voice cracked. "You're telling me to calm down? You're the one who's been shot!"
"Listen to me; you are going to get on the gondola, and you are going to row down to Rosa in Fiore."
"And you?"
"I will follow."
"I will row us both."
"Y/n, you are not strong enough--"
"Shut up, Ezio, and put your arm over my shoulders."
He released your robes, and you grasped his arm to pull it over you before he could get away. Holding him against your torso, you heaved yourself onto your feet, carrying as much of Ezio's weight as he allowed you. His breathing had become laboured, and he still carried much of himself on his feet. "Ezio, for the last time, trust me to let me help you. You are the one who is breaking now; let me save you."
The long pause indicated the consideration of his decision, before finally, Ezio slouched against you. The victory motivated you to the dock, where you aided Ezio in a guided collapse onto the wood. Jumping on board, you grabbed the rowing oar and pushed against the river bed. The gondola rocked slowly as you turned the boat around.
"Mio Dio," Ezio cursed, unbuckling his cape. He wrapped it around his waist before knotting it tightly above the wound, wincing as more blood oozed over the fabric. You rowed harder as the gondola soared down the river. A sudden strike hit your abdomen, and you faltered for a moment. "Y/n?"
Standing up straighter, you stretched the muscle. "I'm fine, Ezio." Powering through, the gondola quickly got back up to speed, and you found yourself behind the Rosa in Fiore in good time.
"Help! Someone help!" Women looked out of the window of the manor-like building, and as soon as they saw you both, gasped and moved out of view. You hauled Ezio out of the gondola and onto the dock. "Ezio, can you walk?"
"... Sí." His eyes opened slowly, and he began to move onto his knees even slower.
You sighed at his stubbornness. "Stay still." Rolling Ezio onto his stomach, you pulled him to his feet from under his arms. Leaning him over your shoulder, you slipped your arm between his legs and pulled him evenly across your shoulders. Grasping his wrist, you carried him with a free hand to open the backdoor.
In the foyer, you were being ushered into the first room by the back door. Most, if not, all the women were huddled to try and understand the commotion. "Ladies! Go to your rooms!" You looked up to see Maria Auditore rushing down the stairs.
"Signora Auditore," you greeted quickly, before carefully lowering Ezio onto the bed. He let out a weak pained noise.
"How is he?" she asked.
"Not good. We need Leonardo."
"Claudia left to find him as soon as we heard. He does not live terribly far."
"I'll prepare the supplies."
Maria nodded before moving to the bed to check on her son. "Get this off of you," she ordered softly, attempting to free the wound of the fabric.
"Mother," Ezio warned in a whisper, sending a look her way. Maria raised her hands in sarcastic surrender as Ezio worked to undo the robes over his torso.
"Y/n, come and help him."
You turned around, stunned. "W-With what?"
"I'll fetch the equipment. You tend to the patient, seeing as said patient has grown out of needing his mother's help."
Swallowing, you moved to Ezio's bedside, unbuckling his belts and sheaths and pouches. Untying the knot, fresh blood began to pour from the wound as his eyes rolled to the back of his head. "Ezio, hey!" As soon as you pulled his shirt away to expose his bare chest, you pressed his cape back down against the wound with one hand and grasped his face with the other. "Do not sleep on me now," you growled, tapping his cheek until he grew more lucid.
The door suddenly burst open. "Ezio Auditore! What have you got yourself into now?" Leonardo entered the room and walked straight to the dresser, where a washbowl and some instruments lay. "Maria," he greeted, passing the bowl and cloth to her. He also grabbed a long sheet of linen to cover the bedsheets. "What are we dealing with, Y/n?"
"A bullet wound."
"Bene," he muttered. Quickly, he picked up a leather belt and folded it in half, before handing it to you.
"If you would like to pass out, now would be a good time," Leonardo said as you placed the leather between Ezio's teeth. "Hold him down."
You held his elbow and hand against the mattress, much like he did to you all those months ago. Claudia mirrored your action. Maria pressed his ankles into the bed. Leonardo took this opportunity of quiet to begin the search for the bullet. Ezio threw his head back, groaning in agony. The entire time through the procedure, he had no rest, muscles contracting and relaxing through shockwaves of pain.
"Aha! I found it!" Leonardo pulled the metal ball out and onto the bedside table. Ezio reached up slowly and slung the leather out of his mouth onto the floor. "Quickly, the wine!"
Ezio, dazed, confused, and weak, blinked. "What--" He could barely writhe as the alcohol was poured over his stomach, swallowing a cry of pain down his throat.
"It's done now, Ezio. Try to get some rest," Leonardo took out a needle and thread. It seemed to you that he had finally listened, and his grip loosened as he finally fell into a deep sleep.
You leaned against the bedside table, taking a breath. "You were more difficult, you know," Leonardo said, eyes focused on the stitching.
"How so?"
"Ezio will live. There is no doubt of that. But with you... There was too much blood. No one could have predicted whether you would have survived the night. I am just glad you did."
"Really?" A part of you felt guilt for causing such worry.
"Maybe this will teach him to trust his favourite student. He knows you are capable; he just worries."
You sighed. "I know."
Leonardo had finished stitching the wound, wiping clean the blood with the bowl and cloth in Maria's hands. "If his condition changes, call for me." He looked between you and Maria.
You nodded; you weren't going to leave Ezio's side until he woke, and you had a feeling Leonardo knew that. "Thank you, Leonardo. Truly."
He nodded, getting up to a spare bowl on the dresser to wash his hands. "Of course. Anything for my reckless friends."
You hummed in acknowledgment, eyes scanning your mentor's face. A wave of guilt washed over you as you took in his clammy skin and pinched eyebrows, never fully at peace. "This was my fault."
"No, no, no, don't you go blaming yourself for his injuries, as he did with you. Mio Dio, it's like you are the same person." Leonardo gathered his things. "Here is my advice: get some rest, and when Ezio wakes up, talk to him."
He left moments after, leaving you and Maria alone. "He is right, you know." Maria tended to her son.
"Yes, yes, I know."
And so you waited, never leaving his bedside, waiting for the dreaded discussion of "I told you so" to a mentor so stubborn, not even an ox could move him.

Consequences of an affair
Tumblr media
You fought back angry tears as you stood on the doorstep, little Petruccio having been the one to greet you when you went looking for your lover, Ezio, only to be told by his little brother that he had gone to visit Cristina. You and Ezio had argued over her recently. You knew of their history but the two of you were courting now, your fathers already discussing marriage and you had grown afraid that Ezio’s affections for Cristina still lingered, asking him to distance himself from her a reasonable amount.
“Right.” Your voice came out quieter than you intended, “Thank you, Petruccio.” You turned to leave, intent on catching him in the act if you could. It would be enough to call off the courtship.
“Will you not stay? I’d love to play chess with you.” You smiled sweetly at the little boy. You were very fond of Ezio’s family, Petruccio in particular, who enjoyed spending time with you, especially if Claudia was with you too.
“Perhaps tomorrow.” You replied, knowing it would be very unlikely that you would ever set foot in the Auditore household again after today. You turned back to crouch down and give him a big hug as a goodbye before making your way to the Vespucci home. You knew from Ezio’s stories what Cristina’s father could be like and so it was all too easy to tell him you were worried that Ezio was with his daughter for him to allow you to accompany him to her room where the door was thrown open and yo immediately closed your eyes at seeing your partner tangled up with his old lover. It took all of your concentration to not break down there and then, feeling utterly used, humiliated and disregarded by the person who your shared families had been intent on marrying you to.
You barely registered the furious bellows of Cristina’s father, her crying or Ezio’s cursing as he struggled to get all of his clothes in order and get dragged out the door by the head of the Vespucci household. Cristina’s mother had overheard the whole situation and had offered to take you home, comforting you and pausing to wipe your tears every now and then as she took you home, heartbroken that Ezio had actually been unfaithful. You had feared it but a part of you had trusted that he wouldn’t do this after your conversation.
Your father was informed and insisted that you go along with him to collect Signore Vespucci and his daughter so that everyone could meet at the Auditore house to discuss the end of your courtship and the reprimand that Cristina’s father wanted to see Ezio have. You had left the conversation eventually to go and get some water, your head beginning to hurt from all the crying you had done that day and you found a furious Claudia who practically tackled you into a hug. You managed to laugh a little at all the insults she spewed out about her brother, finding some comfort in knowing this had not damaged your friendship with her.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
That friendship had stood much stronger than your courtship, it would seem, as the two of you were sitting in the parlour embroidering, chatting and joking one day when there was a very angry sounding knock on the door. The two of you had quickly set the hoops and fabric down when you heard guards demanding for the men of the household to answer the door as they were under arrest and to be tried for their crimes.
The two of you ran to the door at the sound of fighting to find Federico already being pinned down and bound and Petruccio sobbing as the guards bound his hands behind his back all while Giovanni was fighting off the guards. Something was wrong, you knew, as you watched Maria frozen in shock while her husband fought as though the lives of his families depended on it. Did they? Claudia ran to pull her mother away from the action while you picked up the nearest standing candelabra and rammed it into the back of a guard’s head as he reached to unsheathe his sword on the small space that was the foyer of the house. He fell to the ground and, acting on instinct and adrenaline, you swung for the next guard who caught the metal in his hands and tried to tug it from your grasp but you turned your body and pulled backwards, using the momentum of your movement to deliver a powerful kick to his knee. He toppled backwards, letting go of your makeshift weapon before regaining his balance and turning to attack Giovanni. But why would he leave you-
Your answer came in the form of a harsh force at the back of your head, sending you to the ground with a splitting pain blooming in your skull. Time and the world seemed to blur as you heard the guards rampage through the house, likely looking for Ezio who you knew to not be home – you never visited when he was here anymore – and then leaving with the three arrested males. You groaned as Claudia sat you upright, feeling something warm trickling down your shoulder and seeing blood pouring down your shoulder made you cry out in alarm. Maria was sitting on a chair, still silent and staring in shock while Claudia lifted your hair to try and get a better look at your injury.
“You’re bleeding a lot.” Her voice wavered with worry as she ran to get the cloth she had been embroidering, pressing it to your wound and making you cry out again at the pain it caused as she tried to stop the bleeding. You weren’t sure how long later it was when Ezio came through the door and Claudia leapt to her feet to explain the situation to him. You felt faint and your chin fell to your chest as you held the little cloth to your wound, the side of your dress drenched in blood.
Your eyes met Ezio’s as he fell to his knees beside you, his face horrified at the amount of blood that you were covered in and he covered your hand to help you try and stop the bleeding but your vision was already being filled with black spots, fizzling in and out and seemingly getting larger each time.
“I’m so sorry, Y/n.” His voice came out a whisper and he swallowed hard, his free hand taking yours and squeezing, feeling how weakly you returned the gesture. “I should have been better to you.” He had been unfaithful, had broken the trust in your courtship that had resulted in a future where the two of you would never marry. You hadn’t married into his family and yet you had been the one here to do what you could to defend them when he was gone and now you were bleeding to death for it.
“You should have.” You agreed, closing your eyes when your head swam as you went blind again, finding that keeping them open did very little for you, “So you’re going to be better. You have to be. For someone who isn’t me. Go save your family, Ezio.” He didn’t want to leave you but you knew you were dying and would rather spend your last moments with your best friend than with your unfaithful ex-lover, even if seeing you like this did give him a change of heart and made you mourn the future you could have had together had things been different. “Go.” He reluctantly let go of your hand and went running out of the door to find where his family were being held.
Claudia returned to your side and you let go of your makeshift bandage to wrap your hands around her neck, sniffling as you fought back sobs in her embrace. You could feel her body wrack with silent sobs too as she held you.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“I’m back~” You called out into your friend’s art studio, coffee cups in one hand and a bag full of a selection of donuts around your wrist.
“Ah!” Leonardo exclaimed as he leapt up from the sofa to help you out, “Y/n, a friend of mine came to drop by while you were out!” Leonardo took the coffee from your hands, thanking him quickly as you made your way over to the sofa and armchair in the corner of the studio. You could have dropped the bag there and then when you saw the man’s face and he seemed to be having a similar reaction.
You had been having a recurring dream about your life with his man in the Italian Renaissance all your life and now he was standing up in front of you. Leonardo spoke up again:
“Ezio, this is–” Ezio finished for him.
“Y/n.”

Losing My Religion Series Last Updated: 16/08/2021
NOT TAKING REQUESTS AT THE MOMENT!
Here's a guide to what I write, please read before requesting!
F! = Female  ||  M! = Male
(Character) x (Character) = Romantic pairing
(Character) & (Chatacter) = Platonic pairing
(Character) x Reader = Gender netural fic/for readers of all gender identities. All of my fics are gender netural unless specified otherwise!
(Character) x Reader/OC = Fic involving reader with OC characteristics.
(Fic Name)** = Fic involving smut/+18/NSFW content.
REQUESTS
• Can I make a fic/headcanon/etc. request?
Not anymore, I'm afraid! I've 7 and a half out of 16 requests done. When I finish them, perhaps I'll open them again!
I WRITE:
• What I like/what I have the most inspiration for at the time.
• (F!Character) x (F!Reader) pairings or (F!Character) fics as well, but no promises about (M!Reader), I'm sorry!
• Fluff, angst, smut, blood/gore... I mostly can write about anything. I like to write my fics realistically and pay attention to the story, but I always put detailed warnings on my fics!
I DON'T WRITE (TW!!):
• P*dophilia. Anything that involves an adult character/reader with an underage (child) character/reader unless it's platonic/parental. If I happen to write characters with age gaps, I'll keep it between adult characters – a five year age gap between 30 & 35 is not the same with 15 & 20.
• Incest. I don't know what the absolute fuck goes on in some of y'alls minds but just, fuck off. Disgusting.
Thank you for reading and understanding, my last wish is to offend any of you, so please please please let me know if I've made an error/if the things I say don't match with what I write!!
• R*pe. Reminder that non-consensual sex is just a polite word for rape. I will never ever write a scenario in any of my fics that includes rape.

“You need to hit harder, Y/N.” Ezio reflected your blade effortlessly.
“I don’t want to hurt you by mistake.”
“Who says you’ll hurt me?” He smirked, twirling his sword with a flair.
You nodded in affirmation, and began to hail a stronger assault. Although it wasn’t enough to overwhelm Ezio, it was certainly stronger than before.
On a defensive hit, his sword sent yours flying across the training ground. “A better effort, mi amico,” he nodded approvingly.
“Pfft.” You scoffed, going to pick up your discarded weapon. In the seconds you weren’t looking, an unknown force came into contact with your back, sending you flying to the floor and away from your sword. You laid still when you felt a blade come into contact with the back of your neck.
“Mario is sending you on a mission which I don’t agree with. Personalmente, you do not have the experience. So you need to be ready, Y/N, or you will get hurt.”
When he was finished, you grabbed his wrist and forcefully brought the heel of your boot into his back. It allowed you to move the blade away from your neck. With Ezio’s balance compromised, you pushed into him until he hit the ground beside you, your arm pressing against his neck and pinning his arm beside him.
“I think I’ll be fine, Ezio.” You released him and offered a hand to help him up before readying your retrieved blade.
“Ora, un altro?”
----------
As the sun began to set, approached the site that overran itself with Templars. Your target was the Captain, who was hiding in the area. Although it was littered in ruins, you knew the general location of him, and you were ready to bring an end to his havoc. There is rarely a proper way to prepare one to end another’s life, and normally you would avoid it at all costs, but when the end of one life could bring freedom to many, it was hard to debate the argument of life for someone so evil.
Slowly, you weaved your way in between pillars. There were so many ways you could lose the upper hand, and so you kept vigilant when you moved. As you peered around the column, you saw him. He was patrolling with four other guards, and after assessing the situation, you weighed your options:
You could use a throwing knife on your target and a smoke bomb to distract.
To be more accurate, you could use a smoke bomb and charge in, hidden blade unsheathed.
“Assassino!”
Oh, great.
As guards unsheathed their swords and crossbows, you pointed your gauntlet at your target and let a bullet fly. As soon as the bang erupted in the air, you felt something pierce your abdomen, the force of it sending you backwards to the ground.
Although your target got hit in the neck, you were equally as compromised in your side.
Before they could get too close, you scrambled to your feet and vaulted over a small wall, keeping your hand pressed against the wound on your waist. You kept obstacles between you and your opponents, knowing that the only way to survive was to escape. As you reached the edge of the ruins, you spotted a horse grazing on some hay. Wasting no time, you mounted the white mare, kicking your heels into her ribs as she took off towards the city.
You had one hand holding the reins as the other reached for the foreign object embedded in your muscle; it was an arrow. Grasping the shaft, you snapped it in half, wincing as it shifted under your skin.
As you reached the city, you began to turn harsh corners to stay out of your pursuers’ line of sight. Once you deemed it far enough away, you dismounted and hit your stolen steed on the flank, making sure she fled through the streets. Eyeing a side alley, you slipped between flailing drunkards before turning one last corner, fully out of sight. Moving like you had had caused the arrowhead to move, and in doing so your robes were coloured more with crimson than with its original white. You slid down against the wall clutching your wound, needing to slow the world as it spun around you. The adrenaline was wearing off and the pain was increasing tenfold. Feeling the blood soak your palm, you toyed with the idea of pulling it out to save your flesh from tearing more (or to bring death faster).
You knew you had to get back to Tiber Island, but you were sure that you’d draw too much unwanted attention to yourself if you took the main roads, and would almost certainly collapse without a horse. You rested your head against the bricks, willing an idea to pop into your clouded brain.
Small thuds beside you caught your attention, and you turned your head to see a group of thieves land next you. One of them, who was probably the one in charge, pulled your hood off your head, taking in your features; pale, sweaty, barely conscious. “It’s Y/N!” He exclaimed. His eyes turned to the others. “Riccardo, get Ezio. Tell him that we’re bringing him to La Volpe Addormentata. Sbrigatevi!” One of the leanest nodded his head and took off running down the alleys. “Ora,” he spoke softer now. “Aiutami con lui.”
Two of them grabbed your arms and lifted you to your unsteady feet. The movement stretched your side. “Agh!” Your legs buckled, and your sudden dead weight pulled everyone to their knees.
“Mio Dio,” the leader uttered. “You! Get a horse!” You heard as feet thundered against cobblestones. “Y/N, you must move.” You looked at him in anguish; he seemed twice your age, and had a fatherly look of trust in his eye.
“Non posso…” The crimson had spread from your waist and was not being absorbed by the fabric anymore, dripping onto the ground.
“Yes, you can; just to the main street.” You could vaguely hear horses in front of you at the end of the alley.
You took a deep breath, calming yourself, before you nodded weakly, head hanging low. Step by step, you were half dragged to the mouth of the alleyway. Someone was already mounted on the horse as you were being hoisted in the saddle. It was a mercenary, much bigger than you, and you held on tight to the saddle with one hand as you were sent off galloping down the street, a small entourage following you. With every bump in the saddle, an ache pounded in your head; you were having trouble keeping awake, but the harsh movements wouldn’t let you go under.
You weren’t very aware of your surroundings when the horse came to a stop. Sitting firm, you waited for the mercenary behind you to dismount, and you attempted to follow suit. Tripping in the stirrups, the impact of the floor sent your mind reeling, your foot getting trapped in the metal. Pain radiated through your body as you fell on the protruding arrow shaft. Groaning, you weakly pushed yourself up to your hands and knees, dazed and confused. “Andiamo, ragazzo.” Multiple hands heaved you off of the dirt ridden paths, hauling you up the stairs and into the Thieves’ Headquarters.
“La Volpe!” The hooded man revealed himself by the entrance.
His eyes assessed the situation in a second. “Bring him into the back.” People parted quickly to make space for you all to make it through. “Put him on the table.” You were turned to sit down, before slowly being lowered to lie against the wood.
Finally being out of the streets and safe in your surroundings, you allowed yourself to relax, to close your eyes, to maybe spend a few moments asleep…
“Y/N.” Someone patting your cheek got your eyes to reluctantly open. “Leonardo and Ezio are here.”
Leonardo?
You swallowed thickly, not having the energy to respond other than letting your head roll to the side. As they came in, you could half-make out what they were saying. “Those doctors… will be of no use to us… I know my way around a wound.” It was Leonardo, rambling on as he was gathering the relevant supplies.
You blinked, and Ezio towered above you. “Ah, amico mio, mi dispiace tanto.”
Before you could respond, a hand twisted the embedded arrow shaft. You threw your head back as you cried out, hands flying to the culprit’s hand.
“Leonardo!” Ezio chastised.
“I needed to know if it was stuck in the bone!” He quickly justified his actions, hands raising in surrender. “Take his armour off.”
Quickly, your upper robes were discarded, leaving your chest bare and your injury exposed. You heard the movement of metal tools before you felt something cold touch your skin. Looking down, you saw a small blade that touched the edge of the arrow wound. You grasped Leonardo’s wrist. “No, please…” Pain was hitting every nerve and muscle, and you desperately wished you were unconscious, but the fact that you weren’t meant you were going to feel everything, and at this point, you wanted to feel nothing.
Leonardo looked at Ezio and La Volpe. “Hold him down.”
Ezio grasped your hand with one of his before using his other one to put weight on your elbow, effectively pinning you to the table. La Volpe followed suit. “I don’t like this, Leonardo,” Ezio said, looking nervous.
The artist looked up seriously. “You don’t have to.”
You felt the blade sink into your skin. The lower half of your body was numb, but your back tried to arch at the intrusion; an attempt to get away. You were hyper aware of his fingers moving inside your flesh, poking at the metal inside you. “This type of arrow does not do too much damage, but it has hooked onto an organ.” Although Leonardo’s voice was calm, you couldn’t help but writhe. You could feel everything the arrow (and Leonardo) touched, finally managing to begin drifting in and out of consciousness, after what felt like hours of pain.
You were too tired.
You heard Leonardo bracing you for removing the arrow, but you were completely limp in Ezio and La Volpe’s grasp. You swallowed again, eyes rolling back. Your face scrunched weakly as you winced; the arrow finally relinquishing its position, too tired to scream and shout. Stifling a groan, you slightly jumped when the pressure of a fabric was being applied in place of Leonardo’s fingers. The last thing you heard before your vision blacked out was, “We’re not done yet.”
----------
There were three instances where you briefly came to since then. The first was as your wound was being bandaged. “What are his chances?” Ezio’s voice echoed in your ear.
“Of survival?” Your eyes barely opened for a second to lock with Leonardo’s. “Small.” Although his face was comforting, his words weren’t. All too quickly, you lost consciousness again.
The second time, you could feel your body moving as you were taken off the table and onto something soft but sturdy. Your head rolled to the side and your eyes opened to see Leonardo washing his hands in a basin. “Con attenzione, ora!” You felt your arm fall off the side of the platform you were being moved on. The rocking lulled you back into darkness.
You didn’t remember these instances.
The third and final time you came to, you had a hard time opening your eyes. It felt as if they had been sealed shut. An involuntary hum grew in your throat as you brought your arm up to rub your eyes. Even that simple movement left you aching for reasons you couldn’t remember yet. You brought your hand away as you opened your eyes. Looking around, your brows furrowed.
This wasn’t your bed, or your room…
Pushing yourself up, you stopped abruptly, lowering yourself back down and wincing as a searing pain spread across your side. Your hand immediately went to the source, where your fingers ran across rough fabric. Looking down, you saw that your chest was still bare, although half of your torso was covered in white bandages. Looking around, you found your robes hanging up against a wardrobe across the room, clean and repaired. Your boots were at the foot of the bed.
Trying again, you slowly sat up again, pulling the sheet off of your legs. You bent down agonisingly slowly, one arm against your side while the other grabbed your footwear. After you pulled them both on, you began lacing them up. It was at that point when the door opened.
Looking up, you saw Ezio staring at you, surprised. “Y/N, what are you doing?”
“I’m getting up.”
“You should be resting.”
“I’ve rested enough. How many days has it been?”
Ezio didn’t reply at first.
“Ezio; how many days?”
“Five.”
“That’s more than enough.”
You pushed yourself up to your feet, only for your knees to buckle and send you back down to the floor, the impact of which reverberated up to your side. You grasped the bedpost for support as your breath hitched. Footsteps approached your kneeling form, but you held your hand up to stop them. “I’m fine,” you spoke through gritted teeth. Hauling yourself back up again, you leaned heavily against the wall, your legs not used to walking after five days of disuse.
“You don’t have to pretend.” Ezio respected your need for space for a few moments, but soon moved to pull your arm over his shoulders when he saw you begin to struggle.
“... Can you take me downstairs, at least?”
He sighed, thinking out the pros and cons. “Fine. Come.”
Tentatively, you tiptoed down the stairs, careful not to make any jarring movements. Ezio held you securely to prevent you from falling, should you do so again. The sounds of people eating, drinking, and enjoying themselves filled your ears, and your eyes landed on a table with La Volpe -- standing up with one knee propped up against the bench -- Leonardo, and a few other thieves (all sitting properly). They seemed to be in deep conversation, but as La Volpe looked up and moved his attention to you, everyone else followed his gaze, smiles poking at their lips.
“Y/N! You’re awake, and… moving.” Leonardo shot Ezio a disapproving look.
“I asked him to take me here.” You motioned to sit down at the table, and Ezio helped to lower you to the bench. Steadying yourself against the table, you brought a hand up to your side as your wound twinged.
“You’re just in time for me to change your dressings.” Leonardo got up to fetch new bandages as Ezio took his place beside you.
La Volpe sat down properly. “Y/N, what happened?”
You recounted the story in detail as Leonardo worked on your side, slightly embarrassed at your inability to stay alert that night. “It was my mistake,” you finished, wincing as the bandages were pulled tight. “I should have stayed out of sight.”
“He shouldn’t have even been there,” Ezio quipped, closing one hand over a fist. “We almost lost one of our best students.”
You smirked. “I’m flattered.”
Leonardo coughed to hide his chuckle, sitting on the other side of you. “Here.” He passed you a loose shirt and a drink; you thanked him and slowly dressed, being careful not to stretch your side. Taking a sip turned into gulping down mouthfuls of the liquid, parched from not drinking for days.
“If he was one of your best students, then why did we almost lose him?” La Volpe was blunt, but he wasn’t wrong.
“Because that mission was not supposed to be for him!”
“Remember who assigned him that mission, Ezio. Your anger is misplaced.” Ezio looked between the faces at the table, huffed, and got up, heading for the backroom.
The atmosphere grew tense, and you decided to break the uncomfortable silence. “I’ll, uh, go and talk to him.” You got up slowly, holding your side, and followed where Ezio disappeared to.
You peered around the corner to see him leaning on the table, his knuckles pressing into the bloodstained wood. After a few moments of standing still, he cursed himself under his breath, punching the table beneath his hand. He walked to the other side of the table, folding his arms and leaning against it as he fell deep into thought.
You decided to knock against the wall, then. Ezio turned his head to see who it was, before smiling softly and staring back at the wall. You went to lean on the table beside him, staring at the chalkboard propped up against the barrels. “You’re blaming yourself, Ezio.” You called him out on it before he could say anything, prompting an amused scoff on his part.
“I should have pulled you out of the contract.”
You looked at him, but he still stared at the wall, seemingly too ashamed to look at you. “Why? You didn’t know what was going to happen.”
“I knew it would challenge you, but I underestimated just how dangerous it would be.”
“You know Mario wouldn’t have accepted that.”
He sighed through his nose, eyes flicking down to his boots. “I should have tried.”
“Look at me, Ezio.” His eyes moved to yours, but his head barely shifted. “I’m alive; I’m alright.”
“We’ll see.”
You squinted. “What do you mean?”
“Leonardo told me you have a bad case of idiozia, and he is not sure if it can be cured.”
You laughed, looking away. “No, me either.”
“I know something which could help, though.”
You raised an eyebrow, waiting to see what he would say before a force came into contact with the back of your head. “Ow! Bastardo…” Ezio laughed.
“Let’s rejoin the others.”

Don’t Care
Request: Heyyy. Could I ask for a Ezio n male reader but the reader feels kind of silly and insecure in public with him? ~ 🌻
Tumblr media
Hoods overcasting shadows, you and Ezio walked through the streets, blending through crowds.
Being notorious was hard work.
If you see two similarly dressed men decked out in armour and weapons, you wouldn’t think twice, right?
Wrong!
You chuckled under your breath as you saw three guards walk right past you. You high-fived Ezio behind their back. “Let’s get somewhere safe,” you said, ducking out the way of a man carrying ten boxes in front of his face. You wanted to help him, but it was too risky.
Ezio grabbed your hand and led you through a wider gap. A flush crawled up against your skin, and you fought the urge to pry his fingers off of yours. It felt embarrassing, thinking of all the eyes watching you; judging you.
Once you were out of the main streets, you both began loitering, walking idly through the darkness. As a woman came around the corner, you let go of Ezio’s hand as she walked between you.
Before Ezio could grab your hand again, you sped off through the crowd. “Y/N!” He rushed after you.
The hideout came into view, but before you could slip in through the door, your hand was grabbed, spinning you around.
“Cosa c'è che non va?”
You subconsciously pulled your hood further down your face, looking around you. Following your gaze, Ezio took the hint and pulled you aside into an alley.
“Well?”
“What if someone sees, Ezio?” you asked quietly.
“Sees what?”
“Us! Tenersi per mano, abbracciando! People stare!”
He gave you a look, and the next thing you knew, his lips were on yours.
Then, you were no longer preoccupied with the thoughts of civilians looking your way– it didn’t matter because you were happy, and that was the important thing to remember.
But currently, you were relaxing into a reassuring peck that was over too soon.
“Look around you, bello,” Ezio smirked. “Who is bothered?”
It was true; people were looking your way, acknowledged that people were making out in the backstreet, and quickly diverted their eyes in favour of providing privacy.
You were still disgruntled. “Let me show you how there is nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Translations:
Cosa c'è che non va = What’s wrong?
Tenersi per mano, abbracciando = [..] Holding hands, hugging […]
Bello = Handsome (beautiful)

Assassin’s Creed Mobile Masterlist
23/04/2020: Hey! So basically, I finally got round to help you mobile users with one of these -- I’m doing it with the RDR2 one and The Witcher, which are embarrassingly short in comparison. I also thought it was time for a bio makeover, y’know? It’s a bit cluttered over there.
If there’s anything wrong with the links, please let me know so I can fix them haha.
Reblogs would be greatly appreciated (I don’t know whether Tumblr’s ban on links in search is just for outside sources or not, but better safe than sorry)!
Grab some snacks, a drink, a massive blanket, a pair of those really fluffy socks, and enjoy!
This is definitely me not procrastinating through admin btw
