-------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't hard to see that Huey thought highly of Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera.
He was smart and noble. A brilliant scientist who was capable of creating his own energy source. A hero who believed there was no limits when it came to saving others. And not only was he a great role model, he was a great friend. His best friend. He would always ask Huey for help and his opinions on his inventions. He was always so fun to talk to. Fenton would always enlighten Huey about his inventions that it sparked a childlike wonder inside of the small duck. He would always be delighted to answer Huey's questions about the Gizmosuit for his journal entries. Fenton was such a kind and good natured person. He was all that Huey ever dreamed of being.
Yes, he's a good person.
He's a good person.
He's supposed to be a good person.
A good person who is always there for his friends and family. Who is trustworthy and would never keep secrets.
Who would never lie
Who would never betray anyone.
Sure, he's betrayed them before, but he'd never do it again because he learned his lesson right?
Right?
That's what Huey thought until he saw Fenton standing alone in his bathroom office, holding a button in his hands.
That had a tiny voice coming out of it. A voice he heard giving him orders.
A voice that sounded suspiciously like Bradford Buzzard.
'Agent Double C? Agent Double C, do you copy?' That was Bradford's voice.
Agent Double C? Who's that?
Crackshell-Cabrera. Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera.
Huey stood at the entrance of the stall, clenching the bottom hem of his shirt. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know what to say. He had barely any thought of what was going on. No, he knew exactly what was going on: that Fenton was a traitor-
'NO! ' Huey mentally screamed at himself, 'there has to be an explanation for this! Fenton isn't a villain! He's not! There has to be a reason behind this.'
"F-Fenton..." was all Huey managed to get out.
Fenton quickly turned off the communicator and hid it in his fist. His face scrunched up slightly and he looked at Huey. "Huey, I-" Fenton attempted to explain as he slowly approached the younger one of the two. Huey backed up a little bit in response. "W-what are...w-why are...why?" Huey struggled. "I-I..." Fenton was at a loss of words. He sighed and looked away from Huey for a bit to find those words again.
"I-I-I can't really explain it now, but all I can say is that I have my reasons."
Has his reasons? What does that even mean?
"W-what...what do you mean? What's going on? Fenton, why are you talking to Bradford?!" Huey exclaimed, tears starting to fill his eyes. "Why...why FOWL?"
Fenton slowly looked at the floor, tapping his fingers in his thigh. "I-it's a long s-story that I don't think...uh...that I cannot really explain right now." he responded while looking down the whole time. "No, this...this isn't right! You're not a villain! Is FOWL forcing you to do this? Are you being controlled right now? Cause if so then we can help-"
"Huey!" Fenton interrupts, looking the boy dead in the eye and clenching his fist. He then softens his expression and gives Huey a sorrowful look. "I'm d-doing this voluntarily." You can almost hear a loud thump as Huey's heart drops. He lets a tear slip as he backs away from the stall. "...no..." he manages to say. "I'm really sorry, but that's just reality." Fenton states.
Huey feels his whole body begin to shake. His breath was shaky and tears started to fall faster. He stared at Fenton with a fearful and hurt look that struck Fenton in the heart like an arrow. He tried to reached out to the young duck, but he quickly ran away from him. "Uncle Scrooge!" Fenton heard him call out. He thought of going after him, but realized that at this point it was useless. Preventing Huey from telling them the truth and forcing him to keep the secret against his will was cruel. Fenton wasn't heartless.
Which was the only thing about himself that he was certain of.
-------------------------------------------------------
"He's in here." Huey said as his uncle, Scrooge, and his brothers and Webby followed behind. They quickly entered the bathroom, Scrooge walking in front of the kids to the stall office. He looked back at the kids to see if they were ready. Dewey posed in a basic fighting position and gave him a nod, Webby pulled out her dagger with a nod as well, and Louie just hid behind Webby and Dewey. Meanwhile, Huey just stood to the side, hugging himself and looking at the ground. Scrooge nods at the kids before pushing the door open.
"Alright, explain yerself Cabrera-" Scrooge started. Suddenly, he noticed that the stall was empty. He backed up and looked around the restroom. "Where in blazes is his?"
Huey's head perked up at his uncle's question. Him and the others ran to the stall to see what he was talking about. To their surprise, Fenton wasn't in the stall like Huey said. "He...ran away?" Huey asked quietly. Scrooge let out a frustrated sigh and looked and Huey. He bent down and pat his head and gave him a hopeful look. "Don't worry Huey, I'll find him and get to the bottom o'this." He said. As he left, he mumbled something under his breath that Huey faintly caught. "Curse me kilts. And to think that another one of my employees was just another traitorous spy."
Huey felt himself begin to cry again as he rested his head against the stall's door. Dewey, Louie, and Webby took notice and exchanged sad looks with one another. Webby approached Huey and gave him a hug from the side. "I'm so sorry Huey, I know this is tough on you." She said, rubbing his back. His brothers approached him after Webby, both of them joining the hug. "It's gonna be OK big bro." Dewey comforted. "I-I know," Huey said quietly, "it's just...so hard to believe. I-I don't w-want to b-b-believe--". Dewey began to shush him gently as Huey sobbed.
The others felt terrible for their brother. They knew there isn't really anything they can do to fix this, but they still wanted to help. They had a feeling that this was only the tip of the iceberg.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Agent Double C, did you find those documents like I ordered?" Director Bradford Buzzard asked as Fenton entered the meeting room of the hideout. He walked to the chair beside the old buzzard and stood there with his hands folded behind his back. He looked away from Buzzard out of both annoyance and shame. "N-no sir, my mission was compromised. Huey Duck found out my identity and, as far as I am aware, he told his uncle." Fenton admitted.
Bradford furrowed his eyebrows and glared at the duck. "What do you mean he knows your identity? You were suppose to be FOWL's secret weapon. How can you do that when you've been caught?"
"M-my apologies, sir. I shouldn't have carelessly had my communicator on."
"Apologies won't fix my plan." Bradford huffed, he removed his glasses and wiped his face, letting out a sigh. "You were so close too. I guess I have to come up with another plan. You're dismissed."
"And to think you were competent enough for that job" Bradford quietly hissed as he walked away, not knowing, or more likely caring, that Fenton heard. Fenton scoffed to himself as he hurriedly left the room. He went into one of the private rooms and locked himself inside. He sat criss cross on the ground and rested his head in his hands. He felt like he was going to cry, but nothing came out except for a sigh.
If only, if only he hadn't had his communicator on at that time, he could've gotten the documents and have his mission be over with. He could've finally gotten what he had hoped of getting from Bradford like he promised. He wouldn't have had to crush Huey's heart.
No, he couldn't dwell on that anymore, on Huey anymore. He was merely just an obstacle in the mission. Fenton always knew that, he knew that getting close to anyone would be pointless.
But he did anyway. Not just to Huey, but to Dr. Gearloose, Manny, everyone. And it was all ruined in a matter of a minute. He had to admit that he did feel guilty about what he did, but that was the kind of person he was. That's what a good person does, they feel bad. Yeah, he was a good person. 'I am a good person" he thought to himself. He rolled his eyes and huffed.
"What's the point of lying to yourself anymore?"

Some rushed, sloppy sketches that I just don't have the energy to line or color, of a dumb funny with the vultures as triplets XD
Brad is oldest so he is designated comfort hugger
Look phantom blots and rampaging robots are one thing but they got freaked out by friggin MANNY in the comics so I can just imagine what moon aliens landing and nearly taking over/destroying the planet with a rocket ship is bound to have at least perturbed most of them

Missed opportunities in the DuckTales episode 'Beaks in the Shell' (long post)
I was reading the TV Tropes page for the DuckTales episode ‘Beaks in the Shell'. And I could not believe how many of them were inaccurate! So many of them were riddled with downright incorrect details!
And... some of them are actually HUGE missed opportunities and would have helped the episode make a lot more sense!
It absolutely would have made sense if Huey had told them Gyro wouldn’t be mad! Heck, fairly early on in the episode (before Huey found out about their relationship and their secret project), Fenton himself- not Huey- told Gandra that Gyro could help fix the glitches… implying that Fenton clearly trusted Gyro (that Gyro would be willing to work with them, that he wouldn’t harshly criticize their project or shut it down, that he wouldn’t see Fenton as a traitor for being in a relationship with a F.O.W.L. agent, and that he wouldn’t judge Gandra too harshly for being a F.O.W.L. agent) and Gyro trusted him. This tells me Gyro and Fenton’s relationship have come a long way since he promoted him in ‘Astro B.O.Y.D.’ (and it would’ve really added to that scene if Fenton actually mentioned this to Gandra- that Gyro respects, trusts, and listens to Fenton more now)! But still, I really do love the idea of Huey- who likely also knows that Gyro has changed a bit since being freed from the demons of his past since the episode ‘Astro B.O.Y.D.’- reminding Fenton and reassuring Gandra of this!
And even tho the episode discussed Gandra's difficult past leading up to her joining F.O.W.L., it absolutely would have made sense for there to actually be more focus on how much she was risking getting caught by F.O.W.L.! By not only secretly seeing a trusted ally of Scrooge (and Duckburg’s hometown hero, no less), but also secretly using her funding from F.O.W.L. and their resources to develop the GizmoCloud with him. Best-case scenario, Bradford would imprison her for her treachery (which is exactly what he did at the end of ‘Beaks in the Shell’); worst-case scenario, he’d execute her (which we know he planned on doing, along with the hundreds of other people imprisoned in the Lost Library even remotely associated with Scrooge and his family, by erasing them in the Solego Vortex). Hardly any emphasis was placed on the IMPORTANT fact that Gandra was putting her freedom and life on the line! One of the reasons Gandra and Fenton were careful to keep the GizmoCloud (and their relationship) a secret until they were finally finished, and Gandra was safely out of F.O.W.L., was so they wouldn’t find out! The closest they came to mentioning that part was when Fenton told Huey, “If Dr. Gearloose or F.O.W.L. discover us before we’re finished, they may shut us down”, WHICH WAS A HUGE OVERSIMPLIFICATION because F.OW.L. putting a stop to their project was the least of what they would do. And Huey just responded that he’d keep their secret; he didn’t say anything about Gyro or F.O.W.L.
And Gyro didn’t exactly agree to help develop the GizmoCloud like the page said (I mean, for one thing, it was already developed). Fenton just told Gyro they were having problems completing the GizmoCloud because it was constantly glitching, and then Gyro pointed out the problem was that they were minimizing applications instead of closing them (which he proceeded to fix on the spot for them). But even though Fenton expressed his gratitude, it was a total missed opportunity for him (and Gandra) to invite Gyro to have a role in the project, like regularly help them with maintenance/support and updating of the Cloud. Gyro would probably have been honored, and it would have been a fantastic demonstration of how close and Fenton had grown as colleagues and even friends- another milestone in their relationship since the beautiful way the episode 'Astro B.O.Y.D.' ended.
Ok, this is actually accurate. But Gandra’s understandable fear of leaving F.O.W.L. is another thing the episode should have touched on a little more. I mean, that in itself was also very risky. One doesn’t simply quit an evil spy organization like that. She couldn’t just give her two weeks notice to Bradford, or anything. But all she actually said- when she told Huey the truth about her- was that she planned to quit for good once the GizmoCloud was finally finished. And she said so again to Fenton's mom at the end once it was finally finished, that she first needed to get the GizmoCloud off F.O.W.L.'s servers and then quit for good before they could finally launch it- but I did notice a neat detail in that scene; she actually looked a little scared as she mentioned leaving F.O.W.L., so that was actually clever.
It wasn't really clear in the episode, but I think Gandra actually intended to just quietly slip out of there without actually telling anyone, as indicated at the end when she started to walk away. It’s likely the only reason she even confirmed to Bradford she was leaving is because he caught her off-guard when he confronted her right before she could get out (“Agent Dee, I understand you’re leaving us”). It was at this point that, despite her obvious fear, she found the courage (inspired by Fenton, who understood, loved, and believed in her like nobody ever did) to stand up to Bradford and tell him “That’s right. I’ve got something better going on now, and that doesn’t involve F.O.W.L.!” (YOU GO, GIRL, WOO).
But the thing is, I still wish they had better emphasized how worried Gandra likely was about getting caught trying to leave. It would have been super sweet for her and Fenton to share a moment where he tells her it’s going to be ok, or something. And also for Gandra to mention just how she planned to quit (for the audience’s benefit, since it was likely something Gandra and Fenton would’ve talked about before), maybe something like ‘I know I shouldn’t be worried. It’s not like they suspect a thing. And it’s not like I’m going to announce it. I’ll just quietly slip out, then I’ll be gone for good.’
Gyro was indeed amazed! He gave extravagant praise of the Cloud, especially for him (before hastily downplaying it to save face... and while I definitely think Gyro had been much more supportive of Fenton ever since promoting him, it’s likely he wasn’t yet quite up to giving the level of praise he found himself expressing there, and there’s also the fact that Gyro was in front of others when he did so).
However, it's incorrect that Gyro asked Fenton why he didn’t tell him about the Cloud or about his relationship with Gandra in the first place. All he said was “I can’t believe you were keeping this whole world to yourselves!” when he was gushing about their VR space, and he surprisingly didn’t say anything about her being a F.O.W.L. agent (and it’s likely Huey told Gyro and Officer Cabrera about Gandra being a F.O.W.L. agent- including that she was really on their side and planned to quit- after Gandra sent him to get help from them when Beaks broke into the GizmoCloud)! But it absolutely was a missed opportunity for Gyro to tell Fenton they could’ve avoided the problems with both the glitches (and thus able to finish the project faster and have Gandra out of F.O.W.L. faster) and Beaks hacking the Cloud if only they'd trusted him in the first place. And that could’ve led to such a sweet moment where Fenton assured Gyro that he absolutely did trust him and did want to tell him, but that he kept everything a secret mostly for Gandra’s sake, and then officially welcomed him to the Cloud.
And it's also wrong that anything was said to Gyro about Gandra being worried about getting busted by F.O.W.L. (unless, like I said, Huey already mentioned that to him and Officer Cabrera when he recruited them to help stop Beaks off-camera); besides, he voluntarily fixed the glitches anyway.
Ok, Fenton's mom never actually said that’s the reason she was so suspicious about Fenton having a girlfriend and why she was so determined to find out all she could about her... but OMG, THAT TOTALLY MAKES SENSE. I mean, it’s unknown if Fenton actually told her the truth about how his so-called date with Gandra went in ‘The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee’ (although I strongly suspect he either lied, greatly downplayed the problematic details, or was incredibly vague about it). But in ‘Dangerous Chemistry’, his mom totally threatened to go after his date and hurt her if she broke his heart… so, if Fenton told her that she did break his heart after his disastrous date or if she so much as suspected it, then it absolutely makes sense for his overprotective mother to be suspicious of any romantic pursuits of his!
However, there was no indication in ‘Beaks In the Shell’ that M’ma Cabrera learned Fenton’s girlfriend was the same one who broke his heart on his date that time. She did tell Gandra she was very impressed with her fighting after they defeated Beaks as a team, but she didn’t even say anything about her being part of an evil organization; if Huey mentioned that, like I suspect he did, she likely gave Gandra the benefit of the doubt when learning she planned to quit and especially after seeing her fight Beaks (she did, however, say that "Anyone who can deal with my son's chatter can't be a bad person"). Buuut… if she did learn Gandra was a F.O.W.L. agent (and especially if she also knew that she betrayed Fenton before), then I can’t see Gandra quite so quick to earn his mom’s respect because of how overprotective she is. Ofc, that wouldn’t fit the storyline of the episode because a huge point to it was Gandra's vulnerability and her fear that people in Fenton’s life wouldn’t accept or trust her.
Well, ok, Gandra’s not evil; she’s not a fundamentally bad person. She is- or was, before she got together with Fenton- very morally grey, making a lot of bad, selfish choices and getting involved with bad people (like Beaks, F.O.W.L., and who knows who else) out of desperation that stemmed from a life of being rejected, overlooked, and misunderstood (which is inexcusable, but understandable, and I honestly wish they had done a much better job explaining this in the episode instead of giving such a rushed, half-assed explanation).
However, she did find a desire to change, a better path in life, and a way out of F.O.W.L. after she and Fenton (her only source of support and understanding) became a couple and came up with the idea for the GizmoCloud. But the TV Tropes page is incorrect about Gyro saying anything about offering her a job in the lab, and the episode also didn’t say anything about him forgiving or accepting her (he didn’t say a word about her one way or the other, oddly enough). BUT… I always thought it was another HUGE missed opportunity for (1) Gandra to apologize to Gyro for knocking him out with her electricity and indirectly causing his lab to be destroyed in ‘The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee’, (2) for Gyro to grudgingly accept her apology and gain respect for her after seeing the GizmoCloud and the way she fought Beaks with the rest of them (plus learning how hard she’s got it, and that he also knows what it's like to make his share of mistakes after a difficult past- including being rejected/misunderstood for his scientific endeavors- and that she fully intends to leave F.O.W.L., and how much she means to Fenton who he now respects and cares about), and (3) him offering her an official job in the lab!

this scene is 100x funnier/better if you remember that all the key members of F.OW.L are sitting down looking all menacingly and watching this all happen
edit: I headcanon that every single one of those F.O.WL. members got the Tittertwill’s song stuck in their head for at least a week

@musiclover918 requested some Fendra fluff #27. it was cute, I had fun with this. F.OW.L. agent!Fenton owns my brain.
*
Somedays, Gandra’s still not sure how it happened.
She’s the youngest director of McDuck Enterprise’s R&D program, after Dr. Gearloose...well. No one will tell her the whole story, still, but she knows it has to do with the Spear of Selene, and why Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s mother disappeared right before they hatched.
In her spare time, she’s Gizmoduck—an actual, functioning superhero based on an abandoned prototype she’d found of Dr. Gearloose’s. She’s pushed the boundaries of science with the suit, including nanite-charge gauntlets, based on her own gloves.
Gandra’s even helping being down F.O.W.L., who are plotting against the McDuck family.
At least, she would, if her boyfriend would focus.
(That’s another word she can’t believe. She hasn’t had a date since undergrad.)
“Fen-ton.” She squirms away from where he keeps preening the feathers of her neck. “Stop distracting me, I want to finish this tonight.”
“Another fancy gizmo for McDuck to sell for a ridiculous profit?” he asks, but there’s no heat behind his snark.
“Actually, no.” Gandra picks up the gun so he can see it. “It’s a gas gun, from the movie—”
“Darkwing Duck?” he confirms, nodding. “Heard of it. Terrible movie.”
“Yeah, well, weird story. I met the actor and he wants a working version of the gas gun so he can take a run at being a superhero, too.”
“He giving you trouble?” he asks, and she wants to laugh at that. Fenton might think himself the bad boy of F.O.W.L., or whatever, with his cut-off yellow shirt and too-long hair and the field training, but he’s still built for a lab. Drake still has six inches on Fen and, if she were a betting woman, probably more skilled in fighting.
She shakes her head. “No. It’ll be kind of nice, having someone else to patrol. And he’s out of St. Canard. It’s a little weird, I’ve been doing it all by myself for two and a half years.”
“Well.” Fenton brushes a piece of her hair away from her face. “I’ve seen the movie, and I have to say I definitely prefer Gizmoduck.”
Gandra ducks her head, taking far longer than necessary to fit a canister in the gun. She can feel her cheeks heating up and hopes her hair will hide it.
“Are you blushing, Suit?”
He pokes her cheek, and she knows her cover’s blown, but she still has her pride, of course. “N-no!”
His beak replaces his hand on her face and Fenton presses a kiss to her warm cheek. “Mm-hm. Sure, cariño.”
“Stay cocky, I’ll try the knock-out gas on you.”

Duck prompt. Director Buzzard to all agents, reminding you to stop sending operatives with bad childhoods against Darkwing Duck, he convinces them to defect. We are down 8 so far, 3 this year alone and is only may...
"Apparently, you have a warning."
This was the last thing Darkwing Duck expected when he entered the tower. "What?" he said as Honker typed. "From who?" As far as he knew, he hadn't done anything that would require law enforcement to give him a warning.
"Not that kind! My bad. Apparently, there's a warning on your F.OW.L file." To prove it, Honker pressed a button.
Bradford Buzzard's voice rolled through the speakers.
"Director Buzzard to all agents, reminding you to stop sending operatives with bad childhoods against Darkwing Duck. He convinces them to defect. We are down 8 so far, 3 this year alone and it's only May..."
Darkwing blinked.
Then he burst into laughter.

How does May and June fit in your au
I also haven't considered them much for this AU before, so they could either just be background characters a.k.a. more kids for the academy, OR one of two plot ideas:
1. they're part of one of those "planet of the week" one-shot episodes where the planet inhabitants want to clone the population of the Klondike, for whatever reason (which was a story for at least one TNG episode, if I recall), and they choose Webby as one of their subjects.
2. (to fit more with the whole F.O.W.L. thing of the AU...) F.OW.L. sends two (or probably more, over time) of its changelings to go infiltrate the Klondike and replace/impersonate various crew members (à la Bashir, Martok, etc. in DS9). Webby becomes a prime candidate because she does become something of another apprentice (and an adopted niece) to Scrooge and she's Beakley's granddaughter, and training to join Section S.H.U.S.H. one day (the secrecy of S.H.U.S.H. though is really ramped up in this, so the changelings finding out where and who Beakley is is a huge deal here). I guess the question here is: do they changelings actually replace Webby (meaning she's been kidnapped and taken elsewhere as prisoner), or do they keep showing up in different parts of the ship where Webby isn't, creating chaos until they inevitably run into each other (like that one DT87 episode with the Beagle Boys)? (I personally prefer the former.)
Either way, once everything is settled in either choice (probably the second one, and the equivalent of the Dominion War has ended), the changelings would probably become part of the Klondike's population, and would want to stay as kids after realizing how much fun it can be and all that, but they would probably create their own identities a bit more, and would experiment some with that. And eventually, they'd choose the names May and June for themselves. (Webby won't be April/a clone/changeling herself though, but maybe her middle name is April, and the changelings use that as inspiration for their names, after having impersonated her for so long?)

Another thing I liked about the Impossibin, but which wasn’t actually said in episode (far as I recall):
Spoilers below!
Even though the hi-tech security system was beaten by Scoorge’s family (e.g. Louie and Della (and Scrooge)), and so was therefore beatable by F.O.W.L., Scrooge & family won because they (well, Louie) knew the quirks and skills of family & friends & allies (that Bulb tech gets angry when Gyro is insulted; that Scrooge can swim through gold coins when they ram into the machine). It shows that by knowing each other, Scrooge & family et.al stand a better chance of beating F.O.W.L. then by trying to outsmart F.OW.L. I just feel like that’s an important detail.

I realized this days ago but I'm saying it now:
Daytrip of Doom foreshadows FOWLs headquarters being inside Funzos. Remember the small gag in the episode is how whenever they got into the ball pit they would sink? It was disguised as a small joke about ball pits being semi-deadly, but then I realized that they were sinking because they were falling into the tube that let's you into the headquarters.

Little blurb of info about Louie in season three in the F.OW.L. verse. (which I’m still debating on whether to go with it or canon atm)
He was kidnapped by Bradford (and Black Heron) after Let’s Get Dangerous and brought to the library for his behavior modification. After it was finished, he was thrown in one of the boxes to wait which is where he’s been since.

What did we learn on Ducktales this week (Double O Duck in you Only Crash Twice!)......
An episode in which Launchpad and Dewey try to be a Spies in a VR game only to end up on a spy adventure while thinking that it’s all part of the game. Also, we get cameos from a certain rescue team......
What did we learn.....
-Steelbeak from Darkwing Duck makes his appearance (hinted back in the season 2 finale).
-Launchpad takes card games very seriously even when he’s playing the wrong game.
-Scrooge gets addicted to Ski ball. Webby instantly regrets introducing the game to him because he treats tickets like gold and we know how Scrooge gets when it comes to gold.
-Never call Steelbeak stupid.
-Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers make their cameo. Their origin story is that they were made intelligent by Black Heron ‘Intelleray’. They show up twice to help Launchpad out.
-Black Heron isn’t as smart as she thinks she is because if she was smart then she could’ve used her intelligence-ray to make Steelbeak smarter instead of getting annoyed by him and get the job done. As a result, she’s now dumber than Steelbeak.
-Apparently Scrooge gives Dewey and presumably his brothers a nickel once a week as an allowance.
-Launchpad makes a great spy when he’s intelligent.
-Launchpad learns that no matter how dumb or smart he is, he will always be loved and valued by Dewey and the rest of family.
-Launchpad’s spy persona survives in his subconscious after Launchpad sacrifices it to save Duckberg for the intelligent-ray and he knows about F.OW.L, but because Launchpad is Launchpad the truth never comes out. Perhaps in time it will.....
Overall it was a fun episode. I hope we get to see the Rescue Rangers again, preferably in an episode with Donald in it because we all know how he feels about Chip and Dale in the old cartoons.

Ducktales "Escape the Impossibin"
I was really confused why, of all things, was the bin protected? Yeah, the money is important, but if they steal the money, Scrooge can most likely earn it back with his multi-trillion dollar business. Then it hit me. Scrooge doesn't know F.OW.L.'s plan. Scrooge is used to most of his rivals, and they only want his money... Scrooge was preparing for the wrong thing entirely.

DuckTales-Double O Duck in You Only Crash Twice Recap

While playing a game, Dewey and Launchpad stumbleupon F.O.W.L. Spoilers below.
The episodes began with Dwwey and Launchpad sneaking into a James Bondesche casino. Dewey sings his own bond song while Launchpad gets the password wrong, causing the femme fatale to escape. It is revealed to be a weird advanced VR game at Funzone.
Scrooge and Webby have arrived to take them home. Dewey wants another go, but Scrooge doesn’t not want to be there longer than he needs to be. Webby drags Scrooge to the arcade as Dewey and Launchpad get another go.
But remember last season, when it turns out that the Funzone mascot was the Phantom Blot and a member of Fowl? Well Funzone is a F.O.W.L. hideout, they figure it’s too tacky for Scrooge to go too. Black Heron and Steelbeak, an old Darkwing Duck foe, are working on a smart ray, so they can reverse that and make a stupid ray to hit Scrooge with. She is experimenting on rodents, who turn out tobe the rescue rangers. She notices Launchpad and Dewey; so she orders Steelbeak to get them out of there. She doesn’t want the Duck family anywhere near her work lest they bring Scrooge Mcduck on their heads.
Unfortunately Steelbeak attacks them and throws them in a holding cell. Fortunately, they still have the VR glasses on and think it’s part of the game. One inspired scene is when Steelbeak and Launchpad try to gamble and none of them know anything about cards at all so they just throw pairs of cards on the table shooting nonsense.
While Launchpad and Dewey try to break out, the rescue rangers show up, Gadget makes her trademark ship and the gang flies off, opening the door in the process.
Black Heron is understandably mad that instead of getting them to leave, Steelbeak brought them into the lair part of the lair. She goes to deal with them herself, but in the fight; the ray is switched from dumb to smart, making Launchpad super smart. Steelbeak, tired of how he’s being treated, makes Black Heron dumb and kidnaps Dewey.
While all this is going on, Webby is leading Scrooge in the arcade. He is unimpressed with the videogames but he is drawn to a prospector themed ski ball. Boasted by the afct winning gave him tickets, Scrooge becomes oppressed.
Now smart, Launchpad releases that what is happening is real. He and Steelbeak has a speedboat chase like James Bond. I really like that the staff clearly like the stuff that they're spoofing.
Steelbeak goes to the ray to the whole city. Launchpad fights him. The Rescue Rangers save Launchpad, complete with theme. But he can’t stop the dumb ray, so Launchpad blaocks the ray with his head. Once stupid again, he forgets about F.OW.L. being back.
Scrooge became crazy about the tickets to the point where he almost builds a ticket bin. Webby has to lie to him and says the tickets expire at the end of the day. His hundreds of tickets get him a tiny comb. I love this subplot; feels very barksian.
Back at F.O.W.L. headquarters, Bradford chews out both Black Heron and Steelbeak for there stupid schemes as they are thiefs not conquerors.
I have half a mind about the rescue rangers cameo. I’m sad that they didn’t get to speak, but I never saw the original show as part of the DuckTales universe as they interacted with humans so the silent cameo seemed best. Apparently the Rangers were off limits as Disney is developing a live action movie. The rangers were a quick cameo the crew put in and kept growing. When the executives saw, they were fine with it.
An advantage this show has is that they really love the genre’s they are parodying. You can see this in Quack Pack and you can see it here. Makes a world of difference. 3 ½ out of 4.
