This is Ginkgo, our 10 month old cross-eyed menace. When we adopted him and he was still small and white, we assumed he was a standard seal point DSH, but as he grows and gets darker he's been getting more and more stripey. (He also has visible stripes on the back of his neck). Why could this be? I've known seal points who had faint stripes as kittens that faded as they grew, but I've never seen the tabby pattern get more defined with age, and I'm baffled.
First of all i love the name.
Second: I'll say you were right first and he's a black/seal point. He's rather dark, especially for his age, and i suspect that's why the pattern is more apparent, there's simply more pigment to it than in most points. (Ghost striping disappears if there's too much or too little pigment. This must be like a golden zone: the best amount for the underlying stripes to show up.)
#also probably you can breed for less contrast and purebred point are very much bred for no ghost pattern (except for bengals of course)#(the stripes of the solid point kittens you're talking about are more likely to be on the face i think - and then the mask becomes too dark)#cats#ask and answer#ghost pattern#i have an oc called gingko but he's a red tabby

Happy Kagepro Day!!!

I don't have anything ready for the fifteenth”#And then rushed to make these#there are a few things I'd like to change or adjust on some of them (like the colors on kido's) but aside from that I'm pretty happy#seto's was the hardest. first I kept trying to daw a bird for the silhouette window thing#but I kept erasing it because I wasn't happy with it#then I was flicking through my screenshots of his song's video and realized "wait. What if the tv him and little him are sitting on is the#ilhouette? Then I kept the birds but put them in a circular pattern in a way reminiscent of how the scissors and knives(?) were around him#in certain shots (btw. does anyone have ANY idea what the gossip he was getting from that bird in his introduction was?)#The background I wish I had done more with but I was drawing a blank on ideas so... the outside of Mary's house it is#kano's - in contrast - was the easiest.#I was like “his silhouette's a cat. the background will definitely be a reference to his song.”#Honestly the masks were the hardest part because it was a little difficult to get good pics of any other than the red-eyed mask#Also something looks off about him to me but I wasn't about to fight the picture so I didn't fiddle with it too much before inking#maybe his face just translates into my style weirdly#not much to say about Kido. Except I really wish I did the equalizer bars differently and will definitely be changing that if I ever get ar#und to making these digitally. Also#I'd alter the shades of colors I chose for the music staffs but that bugs me a lot less than those fri#cking equalizer bars#did I really just go on a whole ass rant about my decisions in these drawings?#I guess I did. Whoops?

I just didn't like the sprite he originally had and-#-she's from the save/saves that I'm remaking from the browser version of the game into the actual app so I figured I'd give them a look I-#-liked more#thus he's the only “masked tabby” I've got- I made these saves before the update with that pattern came out and I've been waiting to keep-#-playing until I've got all the designs drawn!

Horikoshi has this pattern of drawing characters shouting their truth while backed into a corner with their faces half covered by a mask.
This happens during the Battle Trial when Izuku was cornered by Bakugou and Izuku attempted to reclaim his own identity outside of what Bakugou (and society) defined him as. Twice was also half masked in his final confrontation with Hawks, when he vehemently opposed Hawks’ attempt to define him separately from the rest of his friends. Half of Toga’s face was covered by Twice’s mask during her final confrontation with Ochako as well.
And by the end of all three fights, the mask is completely removed and the characters are at their most honest. And each of them also received grievous injuries (resulting in at least one death).
This might be symbolizing characters rejecting the masks/roles society gave them and choosing to be true to themselves instead despite the costs of making such choices. (i.e. Izuku getting to live out his heroic nature, Twice choosing his bonds over the perceived social good, and Toga being able to consensually express her love to others). It is interesting though that Izuku parallels LOV characters in this way

i gotta stop fucking thinking about ships for karma because oh my god they all make me laugh so so so hard. i just thought abt how napstasans would go and i think he'd try to compliment their music for like 0.2 seconds before they start fully collapsing and sobbing saying "ur uglyyyyy 😭😭" and they technically outrank him so he'd just have to stand there like ????? bitch ?????????

I've been thinking about making myself some crochet furry clothes, like a hat and mittens, and I think I finally have the idea of how to do it
#i think i wanna make like a hood#with a scarf#like a hood tht goes over my head and neck and has a face covering attached to the inside#and the scarf part would have a dog snout on it#i saw once a pattern for a muzzle shaped face mask#and i don't have money for that pattern but i think i could figure it out by looking at the pic#and like make my own version#the one i saw had an open mouth n i dont want that#but the general shape was great#and like id put ears on the hood#ao its functional and cute#and also just regular mittens but with four fingers like furry paws#and beans. maybe claws too#maybe id make a matching tail to that#because i cant afford a read fursuit and i don't have the skills#what i can do is crochet#so. yeah#what was it called#poodling? when you just have the head and paws#something like that#bee buzz

Hoo hah...
Well, this project is probs gonna take me a *little* longer than a few days to finish since I have to redo an entire part, but I don't wanna tease y'all too long without sharing a little bit about it, so here's the latest bits I've finished.
Probs totally gives away what I'm doing now, but the real delight is in the final product, right?
Some tiny shorts, and a tiny mask. I wonder who they're for...
#gbunny makes#i'll retag this later when the final project is posted#as to not give away too much#but i think if you're aware of this hobby in the slightest#then you already know what i'm doing#well the mask *might* throw you off if you haven't been here that long#but it's a reference to some very old art#but speaking of the mask i might redo it#and/or just seal it#because i put the black down with oil pastels to better achieve the messy look of the original art#but oil pastels don't really get dry#so it stains pretty much anything the face touches#which isn't great#like the look though#the shorts were also a nightmare#i still haven't looked into fixing my sewing machine#so i'm still hand sewing everything#which is very time consuming when i have to draft the patterns myself#and i have next to no experience with that#anyway i'll tell y'all the full story when i finally post about this
