So guys, let's all talk about Lloyd, we know who he is if you watch Ninjago or starting with Dragons Rising, master of energy, son of Garmadon, nephew of Wu, grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master and the green ninja, the chosen one, some love Lloyd and some don't, let's find out why? Lloyd is the main character, he's a green ninja, that's understandable, but why is he constantly and every time need to shove him into new seasons?
I know and understand that he is the main character, but this does not mean that they need to add him in every season, then why do they need other ninjas, if they could write the name: "green ninja" Or Lloyd's name, and according to the title, once the name: Masters of Spinjitzu, then it is about the masters, and not one. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Lloyd, on the contrary I love him, but honestly it really got me, like he's already a green ninja, chosen one, a master of energy or life, he had golden power (I wonder if it will appear in the future) He has a golden uniform oni
Some made art that he merges with his element instead of Nya, and also has the shape of a dragon or whatever it is called (correct me if anything, I just inserted them here, since it went, I don't know, maybe it will be in the future) And also one dragon from the Dragons Rising helped him by giving him strength, but maybe that's enough? We already all know that Lloyd is very strong of others, especially he has oni blood in him, but why overestimate him and add him every season and every time it's the turn of other ninjas? Everything is like with Bloom from Winx.
And also with other main characters from other anime / TV series or lego and their what? Do you also have to hate them now? In general, let's at least hope that Lloyd will no longer be added as often in the future as it was from 2013 to 2023, as well as 2024, we know that he is the main character, but this does not mean that he needs to be added every time in new seasons, why then others? Is it just that they are worth it when they are needed or not? Unclear🤔🤷♀️
MADE EDITS i couldn't stop thinking about their outfits and like,, the aspects i liked and thought felt very winx and in line with the individual characters and the aspects i Hated and thought sucked dookie SO i made some edits :)
biggest changes are to musa, aisha, and stella! actually changed the clothes there. flora and tecna i just adjusted the colors (in flora's case to further unwhitewash her and saturate her clothing more and in tecna's case to bring back her pink hair and green and cyan).
explanations on changes below!
I'll start with the simpler edits!
For Tecna, I just wanted to play around with her og colors lol I actually LOVE her new look and I would love to see this be the final design!! It's SO tecna and fits in with the rest of the winx i love it soo much :') I do think they should bring back her pinker hair though! And again, would love to see the green and cyan make an appearance. I feel like neon green is just very classy techy character. And while it is cliche, I do love it akjgd plus I think it looks good on her and makes the other colors stand out more imo! (but maybe this new, pinker look will make people like her more idk :') justice for tecna my beloved :'))
For Flora, I darkened her skin more for obvious reasons. And then I added more saturation to the colors and added back the warmer tones they took out. Imo, the darker, desaturated, and cooler toned look for Flora only works in very specific circumstances. Color theory rainbow!! Bring back the brightness! The color!! The warmth!!
Which brings me to Stella ohmygod,,, please,,,, please stop desaturating her she looks so pale and sick and lifeless STOP please :') Anyway lol, obviously brought back the brighter orange! I also took away the random sleeve. It's cute but it just didn't feel very Stella at the time? The tube top look is Very Classic Stella (very much giving s3 casual but in orange). Tbh, I don't love the dress itself, but I do think it looks better once you add more of Stella's colors. I also tanned her skin more and made her hair more yellow + brighter! Just like with Flora, color theory is important for media!! This Stella design just does Not give sunny, optimistic character. It's giving the gap (aka BORING aljdhg)
Aisha's design stumped me for a bit, I won't lie. I couldn't figure out exactly what I didn't like. But I got it!! One, way too symmetrical imo. Yes, Aisha does have some very symmetrical looks, but like 80% of her looks are very asymmetrical. I also didn't love that it didn't incorporate more of Aisha's powers. It really just went for *vaguely sporty* and didn't try to bring anything else to the table. And some people might say that Aisha's og looks were like that too, but I disagree! They told a story! She's a brave adventurer, a dancer, a princess, etcetc!! This tells me "oh yeah this girl might like to do yoga. cool."
Anyway! So I made Aisha's pants baggier because let's be fucking real for a sec. Changed the design on the pants slightly to make it asymmetrical and incorporated a wave design. Took away that bottom shiny fabric of her shirt. I tried to keep it but it just wasn't looking great with the pants changes tbh. Added small waves to the bottom and made it one shoulder! Also added her classic little circle wave design 1. because it's cute and 2. so Musa wouldn't feel so out of place with a design. Tbh, I still don't love the pants... I think maybe that hem could be higher?
For Musa! I've spoken about this before but I do not like the bodysuit. I liked the concept and the vibe it brings, but it looks So uncomfortable and s1 Musa was alllll about being comfortable. It's why so many people think she hates wearing dresses (even though she doesn't). So I kept the vibe, but changed it to the same mesh that's on her right arm! Which like!! I didn't even see that until I started the edit!! It's so,,, unnoticeable which like,, isn't a bad thing? But also? I think the mesh being on her stomach too makes the design as a whole a little more balanced (and it's a nice callback to her og magic winx!). As for the color changes, really just wanted to go back to her reds and dark blues. I don't Hate the color scheme, but I also don't love it. And I think this feels a lot more like Musa yknow? Also darkened her hair cause fuck that dude
Anyway lol it's not the best edit so don't look too hard :') I just wanted to explore what I liked about the designs and what I didn't. We did get to see a little bit of Bloom's casual, but I want to wait until we get a closer look to speak on it/make edits. Also tbh, I don't really love Flora's outfit but I didn't want to completely redesign her and I concede that this is something she would wear (although it feels more like s4 cowgirl time/s5 casual and not s1 new student time but Fine). For now, I'm gonna pretend the trailer showed us my edit of Stella and not what it really showed. I can't get pale pinterest stella out of my head,,, aggghhhh
Little fanart for a really good fic I've probably read about 20+ times cause it's just that good and it's become a comfort for when stressed so I read it every now and then. This chapter was everything and thanks for feeding my current hyperfixation with this 😌
Might mess around and do more scenes like that, they're fun.
With the reboot do you think the girls relationship will be better or worse. (Looks at Riven and Sky menacing)
Sort answer: 'Better' may not be the right word, but I'm hoping they at least return to the level they were during Winx's original run, and I AM PRAYING think they will for the reboot!
Long answer: The Nickbow era stripped back the Specialists to either: A) be points of drama for the girls to go through (Sky, Riven, Nex, S5 Helia) or B) show up every few episodes to say how much they love/support the girls, but otherwise offer nothing (Timmy, Brandon). Even Season 4, as much as I love it, began doing Point A more than I liked (the Stella/Brandon/Mitzi debacle for example). The boys weren't treated as characters so much as they were a collective Boyfriend Unit.
This was, of course, stupid. The Specialists are a great part of Winx Club, they do have distinct personalities and unique relationships with each other (Riven is way closer to Timmy than he is with Sky, Helia is a friend but also lets the guys do Dumb Shit until there's a real emergency, Brandon is probably the most romantic and understanding about emotions next to Helia, I could go on). And that in turn makes their relationships with the girls better. Because instead of Tecna dating the 'Brainiac Specialist,' Tecna is dating Timmy, a guy who is a problem-solver that's sometimes bad at expressing his feelings, but always sees the best in Tecna and loves her.
And look, a full on reboot may mean we're back to square one with Sky and Riven. But again, if they are treated like characters who get actual arcs and personalities, I'll be okay with it. Musa and Riven's relationship in S1 of Winx is 'bad,' because Riven's an asshole who hasn't grown yet. Bloom and Sky develop a great relationship in S1, but it's also gets ruined because Sky's lying about who he is to Bloom. We may have to go through something like that again, and some people may not be jazzed about it (which is fair, it's going to be really hard to separate these shows for me, too). But if it's done well like it was then (okay, like Riven's was, Sky needs this overhaul tbh), I think the relationships in the reboot will come out that much stronger. And with the series turning back to an in-house production without Nickelodeon, trying to reach the original demographic, I think it's the best shot the fandom's gotten in years for good relationships.
I know you posted about it once before, but there's been some more threads about the winx pilot magic bloom going around twitter again today which is cool
Gotta say that overall I prefer the final versions, the colour palettes of the prototypes are kind of weird and I like the sparkle texture in the canon designs. Though the prototypes have cuter faces, Flora's big skirt is fun and Bloom looks nice in leggings.
Riven: Oh, I’m sorry, Musa, I didn’t realise you had something more important to do than listen to me!
Musa: Riven-
Riven: No, no…I’m sure what you're doing is far more important than what I have to say; don’t let me get in the way.
Musa: Riven! I am fighting the Wizards of the Black Freakin’ Circle, and you are trying to tell me about getting the high score on Mario Kart! Priorities!
listen,, i am Not defending all of sky's actions or his personality but he's genuinely just not as bad as the fandom makes him out to be.
a lot of y'all forget that sky is a prince with extremely overbearing and downright abusive parents that refuse to listen to him or treat him with any ounce of respect. and that the whole diaspro vs bloom situation was started directly because his parents forced an arranged marriage between diaspro and sky, constantly telling her parents that it would work out and never listening to sky the hundreds of times he tried to stop it. like again, he's not great, he's my least favorite specialist. but that situation was never in his favor. he was a 16 year old that dealt with strict, emotionally abusive parents his entire life and got forced into an arranged marriage with someone he never loved and was constantly told that it Needed to happen for the kingdom. trying to play it out like he's a serial cheater with some nefarious master plan is like,, really weird. again! not a great person he does a lot of shitty things. but blaming that specific situation on him, a teen with absolutely no say in his life who just met someone he genuinely likes and could love, instead of his parents is incredibly weird to me.
This post is kinda long and if I wasn’t on mobile I would’ve hidden it under a cut, but anyway, Enjoy :)
Specialists
Specialists in the modern day are sort of like specialised, highly skilled soldiers that nearly every Royal Family or Government will want employed in a variety of positions. They’re supposed to be the best of the best when it comes to combat and it can take years of training to achieve such skill. An important rule about being a specialist is that one doesn’t use magic or magic weapons (phantablades are considered a loophole to the rule).
There are a few schools set up around the Magic Dimension that train Specialists. The first and the most notable is Red Fountain on Magix, though there is a school to train Specialists on nearly every influential/powerful planet. The schools serve as sort of a home base for Specialists on that world, though if one is employed on a world that doesn’t have a school, they will have to travel to go to one. There aren’t many occasions they have to meet but it happens at least once a year. Every school has the same training uniform, though graduate uniforms can vary depending on the school and every Specialist has a Badge of Honour which is literally just the Triquetra (a three-pointed Celtic knot).
The original Specialists were the Saladin family, a family so dedicated to cultivating their combat skills that they ended up with a huge reputation and a lot of secret tricks. They also ended up with a lot of pride in their skills, resulting in a family-wide ban on using magic as it was considered to be devaluing to their skills. For many years the Saladins operated out of a fortress they had built, Red Fountain, and “rented” themselves out (so to speak) for militaries and protection. Eventually, when a man named Warrick Saladin took over as the head of the family, he began a program to train others outside of the family in their secrets.
A lot of the Saladins disapproved of this, especially as time went on and Red Fountain evolved into more of a school than a fortress. That being said, worlds jumped at the opportunity to have their soldiers trained and so it ended up a very successful venture. The popularity meant it had to change some of its curriculum to suit the fact that people were just sending their kids their to learn how to fight, so instead the course now offers basic “high school” education with a huge emphasis on physical training and combat that will give you a leg up in any military and a “college” course to become a full fledged Specialists.
Dagda Saladin is the current head of the Saladins, though that doesn’t mean a whole lot anymore. What does mean a lot though is that he’s the headmaster of Red Fountain and the first Saladin ever to use magic, though that’s a topic for another time. He has been the headmaster for longer than any other Saladin and has made a lot of changes to the school, including introducing phantablades and technological advancements to the building and equipment. There’s a lot of questions and worries at the moment though, as he announced a while ago (about 2 years before season 1) that he would be planning to retire given his old age and would be passing everything on to his grandson, but afterwards his grandson quit Red Fountain and while Saladin didn’t go back on his statement of retiring, he didn’t give a clear answer as to who would take over afterwards.
Paladins
The Paladins of Light Rock were officially created in the year 289 (289 years after Domino fell) by two ex specialists, Avalon and Ambien Malacoy, with the help of the new headmaster of Red Fountain, Dagda Saladin.
Paladins are like freelance specialists, though they are still an organisation of sorts. They have a home base at Light Rock, a basic armoured uniform (though unlike Specialists they can customise it), and a seal that they have to wear visibly at all times. There’s a few other rules since things are a lot more lax than specialists, but the most important thing to remember about Paladins is that they can fight with magic.
The origin of Paladins is on Coria where many of the Saladins moved to after the family began splitting apart. Coria was known for its dedicated warriors, but it was also known for its warrior magic, leading to the integration of Specialist techniques into traditional Corian fighting styles. This was the original style that most Paladins base their fighting around.
One person who trained in those ways was Avalon. He greatly enjoyed magic fighting and wanted to pursue it further so he went to Red Fountain. He hated it. Didn’t like the lack of magic and thought everything was just too proper, so he and a friend he had made there named Ambien left and set up a new group using the techniques Avalon learned on his home world. Saladin liked the two and thought they had a good idea so he helped them set it up. In return, the two named the new group “Paladin” though it was mostly just an inside joke between the three.
The group caught on though thanks to the promise of fighters trained in magic, and the name Paladin ended up sticking.
Most end up employed in some way at Light Rock since they needed magically trained fighters and eventually it became their home base, though the building they use is separate to where the monks stay. Theres 4 schools in the magic dimension that train Paladins, the first and most popular being Malacoy Academy on Coria. Avalon was Headmaster originally but only for a few years before he left and did his own thing, returning a long time later to teach a bit more before moving to Magix to teach at Alfea at the special request of its headmistress, Faragonda.
And there you have it! Specialists and Paladins! Feel free to ask questions because I’m not 100% happy with how the information was given here
