KOUSAKA HONOKA APPRECIATION POST

Honoka's story in Love Live always gets me. She begins her journey as a School Idol with her childhood friends to save her school, not considering the trials ahead of them. She just charged head-on. No apologies and no regrets.

THEN S1 E10 HAPPENS

Because of her stubbornness, she neglects Kotori who kept trying to get her opinion on whether or not she should go abroad. In the aftermath of the situation, she decides to quit seeing as their goal was reached and it was pointless to continue. This, clearly, angered Nico and Umi with the latter slapping Honoka in the face.

Eventually, all is resolved and Kotori stays with them and leads into S2. Honoka, still guilty over her little incident, tries to get her friends not to try. However, a conversation with Yukiho makes her realize that, WHOOPS, the third years are graduating and can't be school idols once they leave. Honoka regains her resolve (after a beautiful rendition of Susume —> Tomorrow's opening lines) and the girls of Muse aim for the win.

Honoka, as clumsy and stubborn as she can be, matures throughout the series and her growth as a character is influenced by the other characters around her.

I think it's amazing how she's grown and her songs are super fun to listen to.
