YES it’s the fact that they’re so disrespectful to mina the moment she enters the room!!! she tries to take a seat but they stop her, saying she’s not there to have a discussion with them she’s just there to Listen and say whatever last words she might have. it’s SO RUDE
and it got me thinking about how young mina MUST have had to deal with these old people too when she first enlisted ☹️ of course she was afraid when she had this Big Job (and weapon) handed to her!!!! the people in charge were never kind in the first place and never reassured her!!!!! which is why i’m so happy mina grew up to be a captain who isn’t cold but so SO warm. sorry to you as well i just love mina so much <3
Sorry for late reply (I never get ask before ->(〃ノωノ)) THANKS FOR A MESSAGE every Mina love increase my lifespan I wish I can write better but I'll try my best not to sounds incoherent here xD
and YES ABSOLUTELY those oldies are so out of touch in a very believable way, which makes the way Mina handle her speech so impressive. We already know what she sounds like when angry, here she's calm NOT even raising her voice or show any sign of anger, vouching for Kafka in a very unbiased yet honest manner.
To have gigantic gun specialty wasn't Mina choice but to be kind, to give someone a chance, to still hold Kafka in high regards and willing to fight not just against kaiju but also human...ALL OF THESE are 100% her own agenda. Idk, like how the show keeps stressing on how people likes Kafka not because he's a Kaiju who will fight for them but a funny guy who won't stop helping people and refuse to give up, that kind of...transferred to Mina and make everything feels so powerful T - T

Palestinian Gofundmes (12/6/2024)
My previous post got extremely unwieldy so I'm starting a fresh one for everything that is currently in my inbox. Please still consider looking at the campaigns in the old post as well though!
Including percentages as well, the ones in red are less than 10% of the way to their goals so could especially use support

For my ficlet event! Please send me things in through my inbox if you feel you would like me to write something for you! I requested this one myself teehee xoxox
Number (40. Abduction) With Dark!Eddie Munson.
Warnings: Dark themes, cursing, threat. Read at own discretion.

The sharp coils of the mattress press harshly into your back, pinching at your spine and surely bruising your flesh. Your limbs ached in their restraints and your bones felt stiff; like iron that had rusted. You couldn’t move. You couldn’t open your mouth to scream, either. Your throat felt as dry as a desert and your tongue like sandpaper. Needles tickle your throat as you gulp largely, trying to coax saliva back into your mouth.
Your eyes strain into small slits as the singular light bulb buzzing ominously above your head threatens to blind you with its warm intensity. Water stains speckle the tarnished white ceiling, a cause of previous flooding and your eyes trace the cracks along the plaster. You choke down the tinging smell of must and dust. The room you are in had clearly been left vacant for some time, however, it had been quickly spritzed up for your arrival. You didn’t recognise your surroundings. The walls were bare stone and stripped of any personality and the floor was green and carpeted; recently vacuumed and clean.
Your stomach prickles as it twists into anxious large knots and your head pulses with a migraine which causes your vision to blur slightly as you try to find your bearings.
Your wrists are buckled tightly above your head to a metal attachment that was drilled to the concrete wall and you wince at the painful irritation that has appeared around the circumference of your wrist, evidence of your struggle against your captor. You were low down, the sheet clad mattress being laid carefully on the ground and tucked into a corner far from the room door which you could tell was bolted and locked from the outside. There were no windows, no sense of direction or time. You felt disoriented and fuzzy. Almost like medically induced fatigue.
And as the gravity of your situation finally started to seep into your conscious that’s when you realised the horror of what you were experiencing. Despite the way your dry throat fought against you, you began screaming for your life. Hoping— praying— that someone might hear you. A neighbour, a passer by, anyone. Anyone who could free you. You screamed until your throat ran raw and quiet.
But the only person who heard your cries for help was the devil lurking up at the top of the rickety old staircase. His mind plagued with unearthly thoughts and contemplation. Should he keep his identity concealed from you? Or, should he unveil himself? What would you say?
There was only one way for Eddie to know, and that was for him to do it. He wasn’t sure why he got so worked up over your reaction to him, it’s not like you could run away… you were his now. You belonged to him.
Forever.
Terror waters in your glossy adrenaline blown eyes as you watch the worn door whine open on its rusty hinges helplessly. Your heart feels as if it has stilled in your chest and you stop breathing for a moment of pure anticipation and dread.
Standing in the doorway is your keeper, his toned silhouette dark and shadow like. You wait for him to step into the light; to expose himself to you, but he doesn’t. Not yet. He just stands in the darkness staring at you. He’s trying to savour the sight of you. Even after all that struggle— you were still his pretty little girl.
“Who are you?” You ask, breathily. Your words are broken into laboured sobs and Eddie clutches at his chest dramatically, like it hurts him to see you so distressed.
You are met with silence.
“Who the fuck are you?!” You roar this time, much more furious and demanding. Eddie clicks his tongue distastefully before taking one singular step forward into the room. The overhead light casts devastatingly bleak shadows across the bone structure of his face and your jaw falls slack at the sight of him. Eddie can see the gears in your head visibly turning as you try to recollect every memory you have of him; but you can’t. You can’t think of anything other than how his black eyes are glaring at you and how his lips are smirking evilly in your direction.
“That’s enough of that— what happened to my sweet girl, hmm? Is she feeling brave?” Your eyes catch sight of Eddie’s fingers working on the notches in his belt, then as he slides it smoothly from his jeans belt loops you feel your heart plummet to the bottom your empty stomach. Your chest fills with the ramped beats of your tormented heart. The metal of the belt buckle clanks as he folds the leather together, snapping it as he howls darkly, “I’m gonna have to remind you of your manners, aren’t I, brat?”
You scuttle upright and nearly bruise yourself as your back slams against the concrete wall behind you. Only now do you notice your attire— a large plain black t-shirt with bare legs and… and no underwear. Your eyes glaze over and you bring your purple knees up to rest tightly against your body as you weakly attempt to cower away into a small ball in hopes that he will leave you be.
“Shhh… don’t cry, baby.” He advances toward you, “We’re gonna have some fun. Promise.” Eddie crosses his heart mockingly and you… well…
You hope to die.

21, 25?
ahhhhh, happy new year, good to hear fron you and hope you're doing well...! 💙
21. most memorable comment/review
Auughhhh, this is so hard, I've loved each and every comment I've gotten, and I save the notifications all in their own folder in my email inbox hehehe
I will say though, this year I was really touched at all the people who commented on "A More Perfect Union" with encouragement, sympathy, and advice when my computer died, so probably that! (Also shoutout to everyone who commented on that one saying that omegaverse wasn't usually their cup of tea but were still willing to give it a shot anyway, especially given that it's basically a darkfic...!)
25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read
I've read so much this year that I'm not sure I can keep track! But hmmm...just to mention a few favorites that I either read or re-read this year:
written this last year, "it ends or it doesn't" by Muir_Wolf, which had some excellent Bones whump and Mcspirk feels
the "Occupational Hazards" series by OnlySlightlyObsessed1, which has some amazing domestic Spones as well as some fascinating worldbuilding with its setting of an AU where Starfleet has much smaller ships
and for something older, "Trio in Pon Farr" by JB (?), which is another Spones fic (set in the era after the fal-tor-pan) about Bones passing out during Spock's Pon Farr and Scotty needing to intervene to help figure out what happened—a bit sweet and a bit angsty at the same time!
thank you for the ask~ 💙💙

Just curious, what sort of drawing equipment do you use? (Tablet, drawing laptop etc.) - sorry if this has been asked/mentioned before 😅
I have an HP Spectre myself, but it’s Very Old so I have to get something new soon and there’s too much to choose from 🫠
Also, I love your drawings so much!! I’m amazed at how you’ve been able to release new pieces daily - hope you’re not pushing yourself though 😣
Thanks for an ask! also been enjoying your okohoshi art and hc a lot.... they're soft (,,´ω`*,,)
For my setup, I have gaming laptop (2021 ryzen 9 zephyrus) + xp-pen 14 (2nd generation) poor bundled remote control is never used for drawing and recently got Ipad pro (12'' 4th generation) as a backup device which I'm still trying to get used to.
Both has their own merit but maybe Ipad will be a better value for newcomers? They has a great screen and optimized application for more compact and cheaper package (compared to high-spec pc+tablet combo. full setup and software will end up cost you more). Though personally I'll still keep using PC as a main because everything on ipad are so heavily rely on internet. As much as I'm thankful to Procreate for one-time purchase it's still no Clip Studio Paint (sadly subscription-only for mobiles) and I'm aware of compatibility and stuff. For laptop at least I have windows 7 and old csp installation files to turn back to (<- will continue to be wary of everything live services until he dies)
Honorable mention: There's Z fold 4 I use when I'm outside and need sketching...it's okay for drawing (and excellent for almost everything else) but I do regret buying ibispaint on it. Didn't plan to have ipad back then orz (Concept free edition and Artflow are more than enough)
It's warm my heart to know there's people enjoying my arts out there. I do those routine to cope so...not a big deal.....um... (look at my own backlog and thinking what's wrong with this guy? is he planning to die sometime soon?....totally in deny that I'm looking at my own works)...I need to get something out to compensate saturday kn8 loss TTwTT AND NOW THAT I REMEMBERING IT THAT MANGA CLIFFHANGER IS KILLING ME AGAIN...yeah, I'm not pushing myself at at all (read: my life is already over since I decided to pick up the manga...but I'm content with that (*'▽'))
Here is a virtual tea&cookies set! Have a nice day (っ・ w ・)っ🍵🍪

if you had to give an estimate, how many fights do you think you and stella gotten in with other people? how many did you win?
“even if i could give an estimate, i’d probably be way off considering the amount of times we’d piss some fucker off while blitzed outta our skulls. not to mention anyone who’s interfered in the gang’s business, and all the times we’ve hopped in the ring at the club.”
the second question is conveniently unanswered.

A goodbye from fandom.
I said this on Twitter, but I am not going to write for the eremika fandom again. Trigger warnings about harassment, pedophilia and more, to come.
Back on April, 2022, out of the blue a big account of the fandom (they had 4k followers; I had barely 150) “outed” me as what they called “a proshipper”. They were blaming writers in the fandom who wrote EM having sex underage, telling them pedophiles. I had not written anything of the sort, but they still felt entitled to label me as such because I read fics of Levi/Mikasa. I had been in fandoms for longer than they had been born, probably, so I was baffled that this was a problem: Because, at the end of the day, proshipper or not, I was reading stories of fictional characters. But if we take a moment to consider that the difference between fiction and reality doesn’t exist, it still baffled me, because I had never written anything underage, nor Rivamika: No, I was a pedophile because I was reading it.
This lack of media-literacy surprised me to the point of beginning to study more about it. I read this article by Viet Thanh Nguyen which said that books in USA libraries are getting cancelled because of “racism” or “homophobia”, books that were written decades ago. You should read the article, but it fully comprises my view that we need to create a critical mass, and we won’t create it if we ban those types of readings. But even if we do read it: does it mean that we share the same morals as the story? Does it even mean that the writer shares the same morals as the story they are writing?
After the tweet, I was being massively unfollowed on Twitter, blocked. Some mutuals even responded to that tweet, saying “Blocking her now”. I tried to argue with that person that I was not reading a fic in which Levi and Mikasa were related, nor underage: they didn’t even debated with me, they insulted me. I blocked them. I got an ask on Tumblr asking what had happened, and I explained my POV. They went to my Tumblr (somehow they found me), screenshot it and shared in their Twitter for everyone to see.
I had an anxiety attack, and for some days, I was deciding whether to end RJ at (just) chapter 2. Because I loved the story I was creating, I decided to pull through. When I came back on Twitter after a month out, nobody remembered me: it was like I had never done anything, I gained the same followers that once unfollowed me. I was… There, again. But I was not the same, in real life: I didn’t know what to share, how to share it. I was afraid of bookmarking something on AO3. Tumblr felt safer, so I went there (thank god). I didn’t know how to answer when people commented, about this fic, pearls such as I was an homophobic, a racist, Grisha was out of character and I was a devil to write Grisha that way. I didn’t find these comments like well-written debate in my inbox: I found it as tweets, without quoting me, of course. I began to wonder whether I was a good writer, until I decided that maybe it wasn’t the right audience to begin with. So, saddened, I wrapped my mind about stopping writing for the Eremika fandom (because, yes, it is the eremika fandom) after Rotten Judgement was finished.
Since then, I have been harassed in my inbox during months. First, for writing Erejeankasa. Comments and comments everyday, telling me that I’m a horrible writer, that I’m boring, that what I do is garbage. Then, spamming hate all over my fics, again, saying that I’m a pedophilic and garbage myself (to their credit, I have now written a Levi/Mikasa fic, in which they are actors and over 30, but alright). The thing is that this is not only a matter of myself.
Lots of my friends and colleagues here have been harassed constantly over what they write. The haters compare them to other well-known writers in the fandom: they advocate for the “purity” of Mikasa (but have no problem in Eren being a manwhore), for the “purity” of the fandom, for “only writing Eremika”. If you don’t, you’re just a “false fan”. They have their fights and sides, but let me tell you: probably one 1% of people will find a teenager attractive after reading a fic, but probably more than 80% of harassed people over the internet will feel bad, triggered and anxious about it.
I know this is (mostly) a Twitter thing: I know we’re prompted to have discourse, to argue our views, to fight for our canon couples or not… in fictional characters. This is the cursive I want to throw in here: that in being so “woke” and fighting for the “injustice” in your little bubble, you’re really not being better than an alt-right defending their stance with yelling and hating. In being so woke, you really act and think like a fascist. Because, in the end, there is a true anti-intellectual belief in the fandom: you are not to put your own views on things that are set. Do not make us think more than the original work. And for now, intellectualism (in Mill’s sense of reflection, and understanding of others, of putting yourself in others' shoes) is the true root of democracy. And the EM fandom is anything but democratic. It reeks of a one distinctive trait of oligarchy, said by Socrates: "one assumes the status of a highest good".
But, in my mind, doing good would not only mean asking the readers to defend their authors; it would mean stopping authors from blasting harmful or harassing opinions on other authors (sometimes, smaller authors than themselves); it would mean that they would understand that while someone can feel triggered by some views, anyone is free to express and write about whatever they want, as long as they, as humans, don’t fight for wrongness; that the moral in fiction doesn’t equal the moral in the author and vice versa. It’s not only to answer hateful tweets towards creators: it’s to pinpoint the tweets of that mutual you always see bashing on other ships or tweets out of the blue, just for fun, or because they really think they will make a change.
It is to signal that we, as a society, are being deactivated at our response in true, real-life problems, thanks to the arguments in social media. That while we can all share and spread help when something big happens, and social media gives us the means to spread awareness, throwing hate to authors who’ve written fictional stories about fictional characters and that you don’t like it doesn’t equal justice, but cyberbullying.
However, I will not be here to fight for it. Differently to the majority of the people who has not uttered a single constructive criticism to my fics, but have found the time to comment, put up bashful tweets (without mentioning me) and without reading the story, I do have a life outside the internet. I have beautiful friends, family, and writing—because I will never, ever not write—to which I want to dedicate my energy. If you care about this fandom, stop spreading hate and negativity of all kind. Remember that you can think you fight for freedom and justice, and end up being a Jaegerist.
I still have an EM oneshot I was writing, but I lost motivation to. I don’t know if I’ll ever keep on writing it, but if I do, you will most likely find it in here. As for Rotten Judgement and I did not live until today, you will still find them here. As for Instead, they said: it is hidden, as it has been for some months, because I want to turn it into an original story. Whether you’ll find it reuploaded in some months, who can’t stay. I am happy to delve into other ships and fandoms for now. Writing two years in these conditions has completely drained me. I urge you to think of all the creators whose works you cannot find anymore, whose Twitter and media got deleted, who put up letters of goodbye to the fandom, and rather than crying about this loss, I urge you to protect the writers we still have. I will keep reading the stories I enjoy, so this is not totally goodbye.
For now, relieved that I’ve finished but angry that this is how I’ve finished, always yours,
Hera.

Children under 12 now account for highest number of new COVID-19 infections in Canada: PHAC
Canadians under the age of 12 now account for the highest number of new COVID-19 infections, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) says.
Speaking at a press conference in Ottawa on Friday, chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said those under 12 currently represent over 20 per cent of daily cases, despite only representing 12 per cent of the country’s population.
Tam said this overrepresentation is “not unexpected,” though, given the “high level of vaccination in other age groups.”

According to PHAC, there are approximately 4.3 million children under 12 who are not vaccinated.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved the use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11. Inoculations in the U.S. began this week.
While Canada has ordered 2.9 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine for children, it is still pending approval from regulators.
Tam confirmed Health Canada’s review of the vaccine remains ongoing, adding that it will likely be “weeks, not months” before the agency comes to a decision.
Tam said while there have been some outbreaks in schools and daycares, they have generally been small in size.
In general, she said younger children experience milder COVID-19 infections than adults, but there are rare instances of more severe illness.
COVID-19-related deaths in young children happen rarely, Tam continued, adding that over the course of the pandemic there have been fewer than 20 fatalities among those under 19.
CANADA MAKING ‘GOOD PROGRESS’
Over the past month, Canada has made “good progress” in slowing the growth of COVID-19 across Canada, Tam told the press conference.
However, according to the most recent epidemic modelling released by PHAC on Friday, the rate of decline has “slowed somewhat.”
Tam said while she is cautiously optimistic, the country could see some “bumps” in the trajectory of the pandemic in the months ahead, and noted that severe illness trends are “still elevated.”
Tam said since the last modelling released in early October, daily average case counts across the country have continued to decrease.
Over the past week an average of 2,230 cases were being reported daily, she said.
“This means we are about halfway down from the peak of the fourth wave, when over 4,400 cases were being reported daily,” Tam continued.
FORECAST
The PHAC modelling suggests that since the agency’s last update in October, vaccination efforts and public health measures have helped to bring the fourth wave of the pandemic under control along the reduced transmission trajectory previously forecast.
The modelling now suggests if the country continues along the path it is on now, and maintains current levels of transmission, Canadians could expect to see around 1,000 new COVID-19 cases daily by early December.
However, Tam cautioned that it’s “still too soon to fully ease public health measures.”
“If we were to do so we could expect to see a rapid rise in cases,” she explained. “Now is not the time to let our guard down. We may still be in for a challenging winter and maintaining a cautious approach can help keep us safer as we move indoors for the arrival of colder weather.”
VACCINES
According to the latest data from PHAC, more than 58.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across Canada since vaccination began in mid-December.
The PHAC data suggests that as of 9 p.m. EDT on Thursday, 58,964,890 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Canada.
This means over 89 per cent of the eligible population – those 12 and older – have received at least one shot, while more than 84 per cent of eligible Canadians are fully vaccinated.
But, Tam said there are still more than 5.5 million Canadians who could receive a vaccine, but who have not yet been fully vaccinated.
PHAC data shows 4 million people have not yet received a single dose, while 1.5 million people are only partially vaccinated.
FALL AND WINTER
Canada may still be in for a “bumpy ride” through the rest of fall and into the winter, Tam cautioned.
“This virus has proven time and time again that this virus could go through evolutions,” she said. “It’s possible that we could get different variants – and we have to monitor that.”
Asked if the pandemic could be over by the end of winter in Canada, PHAC Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo, said it’s “too early to say,” adding that there are several factors which could impact the pandemic’s trajectory.
“I think we need to be cautious,” he said in French.
The PHAC is urging Canadians to “layer protections” against respiratory infections as the country heads into winter.
This includes getting COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots and other routine vaccines, continuing to wear face masks, improve indoor ventilation and avoid crowds.
