Just curious, what sort of drawing equipment do you use? (Tablet, drawing laptop etc.) - sorry if this has been asked/mentioned before 😅

I have an HP Spectre myself, but it’s Very Old so I have to get something new soon and there’s too much to choose from 🫠

Also, I love your drawings so much!! I’m amazed at how you’ve been able to release new pieces daily - hope you’re not pushing yourself though 😣

For my setup, I have gaming laptop (2021 ryzen 9 zephyrus) + xp-pen 14 (2nd generation) poor bundled remote control is never used for drawing and recently got Ipad pro (12'' 4th generation) as a backup device which I'm still trying to get used to.

Both has their own merit but maybe Ipad will be a better value for newcomers? They has a great screen and optimized application for more compact and cheaper package (compared to high-spec pc+tablet combo. full setup and software will end up cost you more). Though personally I'll still keep using PC as a main because everything on ipad are so heavily rely on internet. As much as I'm thankful to Procreate for one-time purchase it's still no Clip Studio Paint (sadly subscription-only for mobiles) and I'm aware of compatibility and stuff. For laptop at least I have windows 7 and old csp installation files to turn back to (<- will continue to be wary of everything live services until he dies)

Honorable mention: There's Z fold 4 I use when I'm outside and need sketching...it's okay for drawing (and excellent for almost everything else) but I do regret buying ibispaint on it. Didn't plan to have ipad back then orz (Concept free edition and Artflow are more than enough)

It's warm my heart to know there's people enjoying my arts out there. I do those routine to cope so...not a big deal.....um... (look at my own backlog and thinking what's wrong with this guy? is he planning to die sometime soon?....totally in deny that I'm looking at my own works)...I need to get something out to compensate saturday kn8 loss TTwTT AND NOW THAT I REMEMBERING IT THAT MANGA CLIFFHANGER IS KILLING ME AGAIN...yeah, I'm not pushing myself at at all (read: my life is already over since I decided to pick up the manga...but I'm content with that (*'▽'))

This is my screen protector! Also a BIG reason why it’s easier for me to draw digitally because of how FRICKEN awesome it feels to draw on it! Paperlike is kinda balls, sorry y’all :( - P.S. I only got it yesterday to replace my old one.

Also I lied, I do modify the 6B pencil brush(2) a bit! But it depends on the situation (I’ve only turned the pressure size down because I didn’t need my lines to have weight for a bit) Also the Maximum Size is huuuuuuge because it’s a painting brush!

But yeahh, rn it’s kinda just the 6b pencil brush, Inka, soft brush, and that one medium hard brush thing I made by just going to Apple Pencil on a medium hard airbrush and upping the size to max <- This use to be my main brush a long time ago but now I just use it for erasing.

Also also also, I use a drawing glove for smooth, long, continuous lines!

I think by turning the motion filtering expression all the way up it gets rid of that stupid auto stabilizer procreate has??? Idk, I’m not really sure how it works, also I’m completely lost on the App pressure sensitivity, I watched a video on youtube on how to adjust it twice but I still can’t figure it out for sheeit. I kinda got something I liked, but that took experimentating- which didn’t take long! And even tho it’s confusing I didn’t change it too much to, again, find something that works for me.

Remember, it’s not the brushes that make you a good artist, it’s how you use them! Thoughts on that kids show from the 2010s that changed the course of my life:

So, season 1 of Steven universe is really clever, because it shows the world from the perspective of a child in such an effective way. For example, the plot.

The viewers become aware of homeworld as a threat in ocean gem, but the crystal gems (other than Steven) know homeworld is coming from episode 2.

The red eye is the first thing homeworld does to check on earth, and the crystal gems are *powerless* to destroy it until the laser light canon is used (and that's *old* gem tech, not even the new stuff!)

In serious Steven, Coach Steven, and Steven's lion the gems are actively working to dismantle structures they had previously left untouched for thousands of years. Why? In case the diamonds try to use them.

Even after lapis' two parter the extent of why and how the gems are preparing for homeworld to attack isn't spelled out.

Pearl is trying to *escape* just like lapis did in Space Race, she knows it's possible... She knows if they leave earth they can be safe. Warp tour shows more explicitly that homeworld was already coming before lapis left, that even though she was Steven's introduction to the concept, homeworld was already interested in earth for other reasons. In rose's scabbard, they're clearly cleaning up the battlefield to keep extra weapons out of homeworld's hands, as it happens right between two major homeworld episodes, and just barely before the finale itself. Steven may not have known homeworld gems were coming for them, but the crystal gems did, the message only told them just how little time they had to prepare for it.

When you're watching Steven Universe for the first time, all this context slips past, you don't consider the reasons for the crystal gems going on certain missions, because the viewer doesn't have the information to even realize there was anything to consider (because the crystal gems are obviously keeping that info from Steven early on). Only on a rewatch does the exact level of urgency weigh in on the viewer, only when looking back do they realize exactly how much danger Steven was in even in the first season. It's a really clever set of details.

This line is begging to be paralleled in a Byler way in Season 5. Not just "crazy together", but I mean stupid-on-the-nose paralleled. We're talking quoted exactly.

I think ishigami/miko were really good conceptually as a couple, they're really interesting foils with their approaches to justice, and the most compelling part of their dynamic is that these convictions constantly lead them to help each other out behind their backs. A rigid sense of morality and justice is the center of Miko's character, and this means she always does what the Right thing to do is- including standing up for someone she thinks is a pain in the ass. On the flip side, Ishigami doesn't care about rules or whatever but he cares a lot about people, and can't stand to see someone being treated unfairly and thinks this should be corrected. But both of them agree, maybe out of pride, that they don't need to be rewarded for their help, so they don't really say anything. Instead they just keep helping each other out, whether it's Ishigami protecting Miko from bullies, Miko protecting Ishigami from within the public morals committee, Ishigami convincing Miyuki to help Miko during the election (Albeit in a different way than he thought), or Miko convincing teachers not to hold him back during his suspension. All that stuff.

But since they don't KNOW about the stuff the other person has been doing for them, they also feel resentment because of their attitudes seeming so laissez faire, which is the real source of most of their bickering. Like, "ohh after all the shit that I've done for this motherfucker they're seriously going to be a pain in the ass again today I'm going to KILL them. But yes I'll also keep helping forever obviously." And ultimately this fits really well with the themes of Kaguya-Sama as a whole, being about open and honest communication. And how, just like Kaguya and Miyuki, all their relationship issues really stem from just Not Talking To Each Other without masks on.

It's a REALLY good set-up and I think it's executed fairly well too, but I also think that after a certain point it becomes over-developed with drama on Miko's end since she realizes her crush way before him. But somewhat under-developed on Ishigami's end due to the ending getting rushed (which ik is out of the story's control), because he went from being in love with Tsubame to Miko a bit too quick and it didn't get to feel as natural.

So I kinda understand the manga ending on the note of "Now they're going to go through their version of Kaguya and Miyuki's love story." I do. But it also feels like wasted potential that we didn't see the actual ending of their arcs and I wish the story didn't just get rushed like that. SAD!

I'm currently unsure whether I should be happy or stressed about the fact that there are only like 5 more weeks until the end of the semester - on one hand the summer holidays can't arrive fast enough so I can rest and have free time again but on the other hand there's still so much to finish within that time frame and ugh I'm just tired😵‍💫

At least today (or more like yesterday by the time I post this) I had a fun day, I went to a wildlife park with friends (a trip we've had planned since a couple weeks already), I'm sure I haven't been to the place in like a decade but it was really fun! I didn't think to take a lot of pictures of the animals, but here's a plush trout I got at the souvenir shop🐟

nah honestly it's hard for me to NOT have hope for the sims 4. im still holding out hope that there will be pack refreshes and that they'll actually listen and deliver on what we've demanded for years.

i was forced to stop playing in 2015 because i lost the cd and i didnt have a computer that could run it. I only started playing again in 2023. coming back to see how many improvements had been made was insane. actually mindblowing.

things i never even considered being added to the game were a reality.

when i stopped playing the game there werent dlcs AT ALL yet. to come back to have 80 something???? unreal.

and even since ive been playing again, so many new features have come out that have been revolutionary. the apply all button in cas, the tattoo features, curved pools, not to mention all of the recent packs have been bangers.

And this is just a small portion of revolutionary changes yall

until the sims team announces they are not longer going to update the game or release new content for it, i am always going to have hope it will be improved.

Along with an Eras documentary and a rercords documentary I desperately want a profile about the actual technical aspects of how Taylor writes and records her music. Like the setups, the software, the equipment, the mixing, the things she loves and the things she thinks are absolute garbage, etc.

(I'm listening to Red through Hi-Res Lossless and hearing all the instrumentation and knowing how all this stuff comes together would be sooooooo interesting. Also would be the only way I'd get my dad musician/sometime producer dad to sit down and watch with me because he'd totally nerd out over all that stuff.)

There's two types of slow burns that are a lot of fun to do, one of them is the slow burn that takes course over several threads.

The other is probably the more common one that people don't realize, which is the one where you kind of have something in mind and you talk about it on Discord all the time but all the little things that edge them closer and closer.

Called Bestest Boy Ever where players are all different kinds of dogs that have to impress their owner with feats of Love and Bravery and Loyalty, but the setting is a Dog Movie which means you'll probably die in the saddest way possible.
