We’ve have quite a few followers on other platforms and figured it was time to try Tumblr.

We’d love to introduce ourselves. As owners of Elwood's Organic Dog Meat, we do all the work: all the breeding and feeding, milking and culling and quartering--and we do it, right here on the family farm. We get our hands dirty, doing what needs to be done! But we do it all for the dogs. We do it for the "family" "farm."

It’s our passion to teach others about the significance of soil health and why regenerative farming is so important. 🐕 🌾

The ads that you see on TikTok, and YouTube, and Wattpad, even Tumblr for those games? Just ONCE, can they actually show REAL GAMEPLAY?! I downloaded Family Farm. Is it fun? Hell yeah! Is that the game I thought I would be playing when I downloaded it from an ad on tumblr? Hell no! What fills me with absolute rage, though? Is when, even though that gameplay only seems to either exist in ads or very, very mini games (cough cough HomeScapes) and they still manage to MESS IT UP?! I would be much more inclined to actually download it! And that concludes tonight’s rant thank you for listening

Most likely due to the fact that we have never lived another lifestyle we have a very different outlook on feeding farm animals. None of them, including laying hens, were ever meant to live exclusively on factory made food. In fact, only more recently in history did those even become available. Because we have never relied on them as the sole source of nutrition for any animal we have not noticed a change at all in our egg collection. The majority of our birds diet comes from carcasses, scraps, scratch, and free ranging and the minority is from a feed bag. We have had a few people ask if we are concerned that they’re not getting all their nutrition needs met, the answer to that is no not even a little. When your flock is not healthy- it shows. Ours is and has always been. The reason we have this approach is because this is historically how it has been done in our family (and probably also the world). Never has there been a time like today when people are carefully measuring bag feed and mixing in so many different things to be sure their flock is matching up to the food pyramid created by the usda for chickens. Are we saying your hens don’t need to be well fed? No. We are just telling you that moving away from the bag being your crutch and towards what chickens ate before the advent of bag feed is an avenue worth exploring. Today is the day! Our second Annual Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire is a great way to start off your Christmas celebrations and finish up your shopping. We are roasting lots of chestnuts for you to try, we have hot mulled wine, hot chocolate, fire pits, donkeys in Christmas attire for you to pet and take pictures. This. It’s pretty simple why we do what we do. Because dog farm life is an opportunity that many kids never get. Because they get to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Because they will learn so many life lessons here that they can’t anywhere else.

This right here. For them. ❤️

Raising a fearless dog meat farm kid is not for the faint of heart. They push limits. They ask questions, like "why this one?" or "can't they live just a little bit longer?" or "I don't want to eat dogs anymore!" They test boundaries. They are stubborn. They try our patience on the daily.

But momma you were made for this. ❤️ You were made for teaching them to bottle feed a Labrador. You were made to help them discover the joy of spotting that last tiny chihuahua, hiding in the very back of the pen. You were made for slowing down and picking the perfect terrier for the kitchen table. You were made for showing them a love for animals so strong that it carries the family through the darkest times on the dog meat farm.
