i don't think she becomes like. the chief detective or anything like that until years and years later. even though i write it from time to time, i don't think she'd work with barok and [redacted] unless she did so under her new boss (since she's still just an apprentice). like it doesn't make much sense for her to just be like. the main detective for a big major case lol. it's fun for plots tho

Darkflower! She is Rowanstar's and Cedarheart's mom and Mate to Scorchwind. She first appears in Fire and Ice in the allegiances, as a black she-cat Queen, but her kits are not listed, as this was before that quality is added to the allegiances. Her final appearance is in the allegiances of A Dangerous Path, as a Warrior. In the main series she remains an allegiances only cat, but she does appear in Tigerclaws Novella, and presumably by mistake in the ultimate guide at the end of Tigerclaw's Leader ceremony as one of the deceased elders, despite being alive as a warrior in both the Novella and the Allegiances of A Dangerous Path. Its unknown how she passes, knowing how inconsistent allegiances only cats can be she may have been alive for longer, funnily enough in the non canon missing kits Su connected her to Kinkfur, a cat that appears in the Power of Three, a long time removed from her last living appearance (and also Pouncetail who appears in post Great Battle SE's but since Darkflower is confirmed in Starclan by this point that's definitely not canon). I'm just saying, lots of room for fanfiction.

Other than a couple speaking lines (including one during The Last Hope in Starclan's meeting about the final battle) There is very little on the pages written about her. She presumably should have been alive during Yellowfangs secret despite not appearing in that book if her mate really is scorchwind, but that info is only verified by the website family tree so, who knows really, He also wasn't in the main series at all at the time she would have had her kits. Otherwise she would have been another premature apprentice by Brokenstar, much like Dawncloud. I made her a tortie because she has a red solid son (whether you headcanon Rowan trans or not she still needs red in her genetics to have him). Also Her eye color is never confirmed, but there is a pretty heavy fan bias toward blue so I compromised with blue iris and yellow sclera.

Elena Validus - (Mother/Ivory knows nothing of her mother, as Elena gave her up to Albedo the moment she could, out of fear that she couldn’t raise her daughter in the state she was in, though Ivory always thought her mother never wanted her. She does want to know who her mother is, perhaps even find her and get the true story out of her, but a part of her is afraid of what she might learn.)

Albedo - (Father/Similar to her mother, Ivory knows nothing of her father, as Albedo too gave her up the moment he could, handing her off to Khyber. All she knows from Khyber is that her father is apparently smart, but self-destructive, and used to work alongside Khyber at some point, but has been in hiding for a long time. She also wants to find her father and learn who he is, in an effort to learn more about herself hopefully.)

Khyber - (Mentor/Khyber had been quick to take in Ivory, for the sole purpose of having an apprentice. He holds no family views towards her, keeping their relationship strictly professional, and even abusive due to the nature of his teachings. He neglects a lot of her social and personal needs in an effort to keep her on the path of being a bounty hunter like him, though he is also he one that teaches her how to keep her nanochips under control, so there’s that. Ivory at a young age did try and make a family bond between the two, a natural instinct in a child, but quickly came to terms that it was never going to happen. But despite the obvious negative effects he has on her, she doesn’t want to leave his side, believing he is the only person she can trust.)

Mortimer - (Pet Krakken/Mortimer was given to her as a baby when Khyber figured it was time to give her a pet to use like him, sadly for him she ended up bonding with her pet, loving him deeply, just as Mortimer loves her to the ends of the earth. He’s the only being that she feels super close with, and he is always ready to comfort her when she needs it.)

Ben Tennyson - (‘DNA Father’/Based on Khyber’s teachings she’s learnt to be very wary of Ben, and views him negatively, though not due to her own personal feelings, all based on what Khyber says to her. After learning that Ivory may be the daughter of Albedo, Ben has tried to communicate with her on the few chances he may bump into her, though still keeps his guard up around her, knowing the kind of life she was brought up in. It doesn’t help that, due to Albedo’s copy DNA, Ivory clearly looks like she could be related to Ben and Jay.)

Julie Yamamoto - (‘Step-Mother’?/Julie has yet to meet Ivory in person, but she can’t help by feel something towards the girl whenever seeing images or footage of her, often seeing her own son in Ivory's face. She has expressed many times that she hopes Ivory can be pulled out of that life, and is willing to help if that ever happens.)

Jay Tennyson - (‘Half-Brother’?/Ivory is honestly confused, and sometimes even annoyed by Jay’s attempts to befriend her, given the amount of times she has tried harming him in fights. Though she does admit there is some kind of strange connection between the two, noticing how they look similar. And a part of her deep down does want to sit and listen to him, but refuses to due to her upbringing and training.)

Thea Levin - (‘Second Cousins’?/She couldn’t care less about Thea, in fact she’s not a fan of Thea’s attitude towards those stuck in the villain life, as Thea is quick to view things in black and white. It can lead to both of them giving nasty looks at each other, Thea doubtful that Ivory would ever change sides.)

Friends:

Vanessa Morningstar - (Friend/Crush/Ivory met Vanessa around the time Vanessa ran away from home and started working with Feike’s gang, and Ivory is ashamed to admit she couldn’t help feel a little something when meeting Vanessa the first time. Which is a struggle for her since she’s never really thought of stuff like this before. But beyond that she enjoys Vanessa’s compony, finding her to be amusing and charming. Though she does secretly questions Vanessa’s choice in running away from home, as Ivory would give anything to just know who her true family was.)

Feike - (Friend/Ivory has a lot of respect towards Feike, as he was one of the few people that stood up to Khyber on her behalf, even if it didn’t work. Since they were both basically raised by cruel people, they have a kindred spirit based on all the awful stuff they have had to go through, and look out for each other whenever they cross paths.)

Pallana, Wes, Arlic & Aleena - (Friends/While not as close to any of the others compared to Vanessa and Feike, Ivory still considers the others friends. They all help bring out a more playful side in Ivory, giving her that social life her teenage self needs, even if Khyber may disapprove of them.)

Enemies:

Plumbers (Enemies/Naturally as Khyber’s apprentice, it makes sense she doesn’t trust the Plumbers, often having to fight them the more she joined Khyber’s missions.)

Omni Squad (Enemies/Her dynamic with Jay and Thea is complicated, but with the rest of the team she doesn’t hesitate when fighting them. She would rather they stop bothering her, but since they’re mostly willing to back Jay up during his moments trying to reach out to her, she has no such luck.)

Representing Song: Total Insecurity - Rockit Music Skills: Nanochip Powers/Control (Shapeshifting, Technokinesis, Nanochip Generation, Mind Control, Weapons Creation, Hacking, Superhuman Biology, Flight, Hive Mind. She has two forms, her base human form, and her nanochip form, which looks like a mechanical spider-human hybrid.) Hand-To-Hand Combat. Multilingualism (Knows a variety of alien languages). While Khyber has trained her to keep her emotions and feelings in check, Ivory’s nanochips have the ability to drive her to be impulsive if pushed far enough, especially over desires or deep pain. EMPs can not only shut off her nanochip powers, but also make her feel strange and sickly, not used to not being able to hear or sense them. Her toxic and abusive relationship with Khyber has damaged many parts of her, and it’s rare for her to go against him. She often denies treating herself, especially when she thinks she’s done something wrong or makes a mistake. Tends to push herself to her limits. Not good with expressing her emotions and feelings. Despite her training and abilities, she’s still a young teen, and still has a lot to learn. Doesn’t know how to deal with normal things. Requires concentration for certain abilities.

I really wanna know what Van Zieks' wine tastes like. I'm not a huge fan of wine in general, but back then if surely tasted differently? Plus with the shit you go through in those games, I wouldn't be too surprised if on some point Ryunosuke just went "nah, I have to be drunk to deal with this, this is too much!!!!" But now I can't help but wonder how Barok would react if someone, perhaps even a Nipponese, were to take just a little innocent sippy from his hallowed chalice 🤔

I have probably only drunk more than a sip of alcohol on four or five occasions in my entire life (picky eater, don't like the taste most of the time), so I fear am definitely not the person to ask about the history of wine flavor. However, I'm told people have some seriously old vintages that are still drinkable, so it might depend on that? And I'm sure some wineries have been trying to make their wine the same for centuries. Without the ability to travel into anime Victorian England, I fear we may never know...

(Ryunosuke definitely needs a drink, though. I'm curious if drunk Ryunosuke would have his Dance of Deduction drama and confidence 100% of the time, which would honestly be incredible.)

I now have an image of Barok coming back to his office and opening the door to find the Masked Apprentice sitting there drinking straight out of one of his vintages while silently making eye contact with him. Kazuma can’t remember who he is yet, but he’s still getting the vibes that he should fuck with Barok.

(I sense from how meticulously Barok organizes and reorganizes his wine barrels that the man is very protective of his wine, so I don't imagine he would be terribly pleased if people took a sip from it - though I imagine he'd be most upset at Herlock and Kazuma for stealing it from him. Not sure what the attitudes toward kids consuming alcohol was back then, but while I suspect he would be less mad at Iris for sneaking one, he would still be rather opposed given that she's a literal child. But ultimately, I imagine everyone in the main cast (and Albert, of course!) has probably shared a drink with Barok at some point post-game - because it's too late. He's been absorbed into the found family. He can no longer run away.)

like many dgs fans i often think about a potential asougi kazuma investigations game (and by potential i mean i know it'll never happen). this is less of a fanfic idea bc i wrote down game mechanic ideas too but like. close enough.

anyway i think there's a lot of focus on gina and i think she's asougi's assistant a lot of the time. and whenever gina isn't the assistant i imagine it's iris, who also gets a lot of focus. i just think there's a whole lot of everyone dealing with the aftermath of dgs2-5 and a lot of just. consequences. in general. physically and emotionally.

also the concepts of "holmes and asougi being in the same room together for the first time outside of work and it is super awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved" and "gina wasn't allowed back into scotland yard after 2-5 so she's become holmes' apprentice because he's the only way she can get involved with investigations and she resents it" and "modified dance of deduction with iris and asougi" and "epic asougi big brother moments with gina and iris" and so on

What's one thing about your OCs that they keep secret from other characters? (It can be a really angsty backstory bit or something silly like a secret favorite TV show or stuffed animal!)

Illy....well, where to start really with her? I like to think when she first meets Douxie when they were both young apprentices in Camelot, she doesn't tell him everything about her... she didn't tell him how she got here...at least not until they grow really close to each other of course (since its more her not wanting to scare him off, or say too much....explaining that her mother sent her to be executed is how she ended up in the castle isn't a light topic for convesation..)

Then you have her, of course, not really telling him how she feels when she first starts having feelings for him. After the events of Wizards, there is also her just...being upset with Merlin. She hides it for a while, how she doesn't trust him anymore after what he's done and made her feel. It's something she does end up talking to Douxie about but she hides it for a long while at first because she knew how much Merlin meant to Douxie and she didn't want her thoughts on the old man to ruin the perception he has on him...given Douxie sees Merlin as his father figure.

Selena...in a previous ask I mentioned I have no solid idea of what i want her to be, originally she is a werewolf royalty or aristocrat that had to run away from home due to being a target as she is the heir. I would say, she hid why she was running away from Zoe the first time they met seeing, I think werewolves and hedgewitches have a sort of disdain for each other and she wouldn't be able to trust her.

In the newer origin, I'd say Selena just...hides the fact that she is a cupid from Zoe because that's her job...to discreetly help people with their love lives.

Lizzie... I mean in general, she would have to hide her going to Hogwarts to any muggle friends she may have. Maybe she makes up some story about having to transfer to a private school. There is also her hiding her feelings for Fred but that's more, she's too shy to even talk to him let alone confess.

Iris, being Sonic's younger sister is...very tired of him being protective over her and thus....sneaks out! She sneaks out to go on her own adventures since he is so protective over her not doing that cause she's his baby sister and all. She also hides the fact that she's Sonic's sister when she first meets Shadow and joins him on his adventures, cause she recognized him from Sonic's stories and would rather not out herself as Sonic's sister given their rivalry. Later on, she also hides that she's dating Shadow from Sonic...at least until she guarantees that he won't freak out.

Min hides the reason she ran away from the orphanage...but also her overall just attachment to people. Given that she never was considered for adoption and knows that now as a 15 year old, people won't look at her given...she's heard stories about how people tend not to consider teenagers to adopt. She's closed off to the other turtles when Mikey took her to the lair, especially the ones who don't trust her or Mikey like Raph and Leo. She does tell Leo why after they grow close, even admits it to everyone when she's ready. Also a silly thing, she's a big fan of Space Heroes, much to Leo's surprise when she finally caves in and decides to sit down to watch it with him. What ensues is them quoting the show together much to the other three turtles' annoyance xD

hey @motherofqups I redid Iris’s tarot card

So something I feel I should explain on this post: the reason apprentice tarot is taking me so long is because I’ve been trying to figure out how to make them all look like they’re part of the same deck rather than just random art. I wanted to make the pieces more interesting, and while I’m happy with how the previous Iris card turned out, I love this one so much more. Sure, it’s not perfect, but I could sit here for hours and nitpick it and still find flaws.

I’m planning on getting Halla and Adrien up this weekend. Cross your fingers for me because Halla’s is kicking my ass for some reason and it’s making me wish I could fight my drawing skill

First Kiss

Author’s Note: Just manage to make a mini-fic for The Arcana. Kinda need to write something for it. This story takes place pre-canon before the plague hits. Hope you guys enjoy! ❤️

“Iris, that might still be too high for you to reach,” Asra told her in concern, while holding the ladder still from below, “I can get it for you, instead.”

“It’s fine,” the white-haired woman reassured him, “I think I almost got it. Just...need...to reach…”

Apparently, this became more of a challenge for her. Iris needed that bottle containing a special flower that’s needed to make a potion the customer ordered. Something about using it for what? Aphrodisiac? She wasn’t sure why this person would need such a thing. And now she’s mentally cursing at her aunt for putting something important on a really high shelf.

Eventually, her delicate fingers reached the glass, much to her delight.

“I got it-AAAHHHH!!”

Unfortunately, the moment she finally touched the bottle was when she lost her footing on the ladder. Gravity finally decided to pull her down and she screamed.

“IRIS!!!”

CRASH!

Asra reacted in time just to catch her from falling, but that ended up making him a cushion for her as soon as Iris landed on top of him.

But that wasn’t the shocking part.

No. The shock part was when Iris’s lips touched his right after she fell. Blushes crept to their faces, and the woman eventually sat up straight from their “kiss”. Her hands covered her mouth, still blushing from embarrassment, and zipped away towards her room.

Once he heard the door locked, Asra sat up in confusion. His face still red as he touched his lips, still processing what just happened.
