I think part of why ppl think Destiel shippers are just fujoshis who want to see two guys ba*g and are on the same level as win*est shippers is the sheer amount of ppl who call Jensen and Dean tw*nk who would never top. Like, even if so posts a gif of Dean slamming Cas against a wall and made a funny remark, ppl comment how Dean is just playing and is a bottom. Calling so bottom coded is really offensive. They're both guys, why would Dean not use his ***? Reeks like por* fantasy to me and others
Hi Nonnie This is answered in two parts, I think. 1. It’s really nothing new that people think that Destiel shippers are just mad about the finale (specifically) and that shipping (generally) is to see two dudes bang. It’s been a longstanding view specifically with those outside shipping communities (who are mostly queer, or female) that this is some sort of fetish or women being thirsty for porn (like if women wanted to see two guys f*ck, we know where to look, we don’t need to suffer through 200+ episodes of a hunter pining for an angel and barely get a handholding). 2. The bottom/top discourse. I’ve seen queer people claim Dean is a top or bottom or I’ve seen straight people do the same. While I do think there are tells that Dean is a *submissive* that in no way, shape or form means that Dean is a top or bottom. Those are fundamentally different and I think people who conflate the two... have had porn as their sex education or no sex. education at all. But yes, generally, outside of shipping where people stumble upon this kind of language, that Dean is such a twink, etc it does send the message that people ship (talking Diestel specifically, they are literally the only (well second which was from a cartoon) thing I’ve ever shipped) only because we want to see them f*ck. And I do think the vast majority ships Destiel because we see the connection these characters have, they have mindblowing chemistry, that they are good with each other, that they love and care for each other, deeply. (no idea what fujoshi mean...)

Fucking thank you. If you haven't watched the show and don't get the plot, don't come and complain about not getting it and things not making sense.
The amount of bullshit takes I've read and seen online is astounding.
supernatural making deancas canon in a way that is profoundly beautiful in the way it says that after years of repression, mockery and abuse coming out without shame is the happiest you could ever be but putting it in a plot that is objectively terrible to outsiders is so on brand of them we're truly hitting thinking levels that shouldn't be possible

When it comes to The Little Mermaid II, it isn't one of my favorite sequels, but something I remember kinda disliking about certain parts of the fandom was pitting Melody against Ariel and people saying that Melody was "better" than Ariel because she didn't had a love interest, saved the day and "didn't left her family for a man", there was a sector who believed that Melody's motivations were stronger than Ariel's because apparently "Ariel had no problems" while Melody was bullied by her peers. I mean, both their motivations were valid? Ariel didn't feel like she was part of the sea: she had to hide her interests from her own family, her only friend in the sea was Flounder (even if we take in account the TV series, notice that all the characters Ariel tended to befriend were outcasts, if anything the popular girl tried to take advantage of her) and as we have say plenty of times, Ariel wished to be human way before she saw Eric and her catalyst to see Ursula was Triton destroying her grotto. This trend of pitting female characters against each other to prove which one is better is something I always have hated. Besides, you can't compare a 12 year old child with a 16 year old teenager: obviously Melody couldn't leave home as Ariel did, because Melody is still a child who is growing up, while Ariel's story was one of coming of age, of leaving her home to start a new life - and in fairytale logic, 16 was the equivalent of 18 back then.
(And let's not start that unlike Ariel, Melody wasn't stuck in the deep of a whirpool with a giant Morgana trying to kill her with a trident. The circumstances are very important to consider of why Ariel couldn't kill Ursula herself. Just saying)
Sorry for the late reply, I needed a moment to mentally recharge after my vacation in London.
Ah yes, the age old tale of pitting female characters against each other with the always misogynistic "a female character without a love interes is automatically stronger" argument.
How people can say that with their full chest without realizing they're literally saying "a woman's worth is tied to her relationship status" is absolutely beyond me. Gotta love those faux feminists that think the only way to praise women is by kicking down the "wrong" ones.
I honestly didn't really grow up with the TLM series (Disney shows aired all over the place here until we finally got Disney Channel in 2009), but I finally watched it in full on Disney+ and it's definitely really good at expanding on the world building and Ariel's life before becoming human.
It shows how though Ariel has a good relationship with her father, it's always the human world that wedges a rift between them. A rift that only seems to be getting bigger the more Ariel's interest in the human world grows.
We even see Ariel started her grotto in the first place, because she already knows bringing her human treasures back home results in Triton destroying them. She even admits to being scared to come home when she got stuck to a human item... and if that's not a red flag, I don't know what is.
As someone who grew up with a dad who's a lot like Triton (caring, well-meaning, but having anger issuess) I feel Ariel's reactions to Triton's anger SO MUCH. Loving your father but also being scared of him is a very complicated emotion.
I'm not sure where I was going with this... I just have a lot to say when it comes defending Ariel from faux feminists who don't understand her character.

Hello! 😁
As stated in the FAQ for the Hundred Devouring Artists collection, unfortunately our server doesn’t accept requests anymore because of the recent issuess which have taken place in the community. We might reach out to more established members of the fandom though— most importantly creators!
If you need any tips or you just want to chat, my DMs are open anyways 😊

I have so much to say about Despair but like, I literally got up at 5.30 to watch it before my son woke up.
That episode made my heart sing. Destiel is canon! You can cry about queerbaiting, bury your gays trope, sing about Jensen being shot separately, screaming they need to kiss. I don't give a damn.
The story isn't over. The darkest most hopeless hour is upon them but the sun will shine on all their faces.
And you, you hateful, you can choke on your bitterness.

My post: "Who the fuck thinks the writers are permanently kill off Cas? Like seriously? And don't even get me started on the "Destiel be canon" thing. Jfc. I'm so sick of those words. Rewatch the show without your bitterness and and preconceived notions."
@lightlessflamegf You're reply was this: You know everyone here loves Destiel and sees it right? Why are you telling us to get rid of our "preconceived notions" lmao... also we think Cas is gonna get killed off permanently because there's lot of evidence that's he's going to? Why are you being so aggressive lol"
Yeah, lol indeed. If you see Destiel, really see it as intentional and interwoven in the core narrative of the show (which it is) you'd never utter the word Make Destiel canon. It already is! What the debate should be about then is the level of explicitly.
I'm not aggressive, I'm tired and pissed off that some shippers have the same talking points as antis! Which is truly wild, talking about being in bed with your enemy.
Why am I telling you to get rid of your preconceived notions? Why? Because they're blinding you to what the text is showing you. You have all this baggage and notions with you and have this big talking point about stuff being canon? What is your goalpost then?
And please, I'd love to hear all the evidence for Cas being killed off permanently.

Honestly I don't think Jensen and Misha are social friends, just good work buddies, but they never socialize outside of work. I think Jensen like Misha, qirks and all, but he doesn't love Misha like a bestie, more like love him because he's familiar and part of the same show for almost a decade.
Jensen loves Misha very much and is close to him. And they're not friends just because Jensen is somehow duty bound because they were colleagues for a decade. They're friends because they love and like each other.
Are you the same anon that was in Min's inbox lol?
Just because we don't see every freaking piece of their friendship, doesn't mean it's not there. They don't need to prove anything.

I dk what show he's been watching. This is literally a slow burn and this turnip complains it's not enough. Lmao
Imagine being so far gone with your head up your ass you think the past 12 seasons of SPN didn’t have enough angsty, agonizing build-up dissection on Dean’s feelings and Cas’s to earn the culmination we saw in 15.18. That when Dean gets to say his heart’s truth back to Cas in ep 20 that would be too rushed and inadequate. *HYSTERICAL LAUGHCRYING*

What’s funny is that the writers don’t even know the shitstorm they’ve created for themselves by killing off Cas permanently fjfndjdn people will be FURIOUS especially those who are still holding onto hope right now
