Still working on ref stuff but it's turning out to be...uncooperative :| so here is a very small compilation of sketches from one of my warm up files! A lot of the file is like...eyeballs! figure study! pose practice! so not usually much interesting these but sometimes I just do random sketches like these. I recently got the Chromatograph pencil brush set for procreate from True Grit Texture Supply and was playing around with it - I think this might be my new favorite brush for sketching, it is SO nice.

As far as the actual content here goes, mostly just random bird critters and wings - I was still pondering over what I wanted to do with corvafex wings and kind of like the idea of a bunch of large panels, so I can get away with drawing these wild feather shapes, though the exact setup or number of pieces still eludes me

every fandom has a wing au so i think its rotmhs’ turn let me be silly for a moment.. to meee chung myung as geomjon would be a bearded vulture bc theyre known for dying their feathers red w blood and i think hed use that as an intimidation tactic against the magyo but also cuz i think its super badass looking.. as geomhyeop maybe hed be a red winged black bird, which would sort of be like a mockery of his previous pair of wings (smaller less intimidating black wings but w a permanent splash of red) or maybe hed be another bird of prey idk i havnt really thought about geomhyeops wings too much..

FOR TANG BO THOUGH i thought about this extensively so hear me out.. i didnt want to give him stereotypically green wings cuz thats the boring and lazy way out, i know theres a bunch of green bird species that could technically fit him more visually, but i remembered one of his motifs is a butterfly so i think hed have sunbittern wings.. theyre a really plain spotted brown when folded but when theyre spread they have beautiful red and yellow ‘eye’ like spots youd see more commonly on butterflies like look at this⬇️⬇️thats crazy.. also if u wanna get a little more primal with it, the eyes could also act as an ‘intimidation’ feature (like chung myung covering his wings in blood), the hindbrain recognizing the ‘eyes’ on tang bos wings and seeing them briefly as a larger threat, the same way other animals/bugs use mimicry as a defensive adaptation to ward off bigger predators, giving tang bo enough time to strike first in their hesitation…
