me thinking about how rivusa fandom is about to get fed this season and I just 😌🤩 it’s giving

andreas calling sebastian "basti" in a demeaning way and saying he used to trail after saul like a loyal dog just. puts such a clear image in my head abt their interactions at alfea bc i could clearly picture silva and andreas being friends/teammates/partners but andreas is a prick and silva is the one ppl talk to whenever they need the more reasonable half. just saul being the one ppl approach for anything (unless they're also dicks like andreas) and saul being on better terms with pretty much everybody. the fact that sebastian mentioned andreas was a bully and he hates bullies but he so clearly seems to value/appreciate saul despite the somewhat-synonymous-with-andreas reputation he must've had with him(and farah and ben of course, but y'know as the two specialists they would've had a diff kinship). just the way sebastian must've been around saul a fair bit, even outside of the fact that they all ran in the same circles, for andreas to so confidently clock sebastian's loyalty to him, even going so far as to risk treason to hide him from the solarian government. i'm rubbing my nonexistent beard at the jealousy and animosity that must've festered between andreas and sebastian and silva's role in placating both of them in their youth

First, let’s talk about the biggest backlash (about the plot/casting) this show had for season one. Musa’s casting was a huge slap in the face to the fans and to asian representation. I will say that the actress who was cast does play her very well but it’s just not the same Musa. Literally. This Musa is a Mind Fairy instead of a Music Fairy. She doesn’t like her powers and doesn’t even want to be a fairy. That is so different than her character in the cartoon. But that doesn’t excuse the erasure of a POC character. At least the plot is embracing the fact that it’s not the same character. Terra’s casting/Terra’s character: her behavior finally has an explanation. In my first post I explained this in more detail, Terra’s character goes through fatphobia but the show is explaining why it’s bad. This season we get more of an idea of her emotions around the situation with Riven. I need them to actually sit down and talk it out bc Terra doesn’t owe Riven an explanation but Riven owes her one. This season proved that he isn’t as big of a prick as he seems so what was up with his attitude?? Back to Terra, I know so many lesbians who chased mean or unavailable men bc they were repressing their gayness. I am, personally, pleased with her development - including finding her voice. 

Second, Bloom. I enjoyed her development this season, including the fact that she lost control again. The way Rosalind was training her 110% played a part in it. She can’t focus on negative emotions to control her powers like Rosalind wants. Dowling said that she can transform because her focuses on ALL her emotions. I think that’s the key to her control as well. It definitely played into her darker side coming out through the new headmaster. Sky had a similar development. We see his dark side, or simply anger, for the first time. Bloom is his calm and vise versa. I almost never actually enjoy the obvious romantic pairings but I love them together. They work well with little to no toxicity. Bloom doesn’t keep things from him (unless she is keeping it from everybody).

AND NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF

Aesthetic. They struggled horribly with outfits, character designs, and the transformations. While I wish they would improve Aisha and Terra’s outfits, it’s well within their character to dress for comfort. Like they would never wear Flora’s outfits or Bloom’s. Musa’s outfits are so much better. They focus on comfort, as she is hurt/training more, but they emphasis her abs and muscles. I don’t know how else to explain this: Aisha dresses like a swimmer and Musa dressed like a weightlifter/crossfitter. Bloom’s clothing emphasised her red hair, love the jacket and boot combination they put her in. Flora’s style is textbook y2k. If you wanted that style in the show, here it is. And Stella’s haircut with her curls is amazing. Loved her progression from crocs back to her dresses. The transformations this season were greatly improved upon. More drama, the soundtrack was reminiscent of the cartoon, and everything felt just more powerful. I got goosebumps. 

I’ve seen backlash about them not changing outfits like the cartoon. I read a youtube comment that said it best: animation is animation. CGI is not the same thing and cannot do the same things that animation can. Live-action will always be different. It’s why a lot of people don’t love live-action versions of animation. Think of it like this: animation is like a painting while live action is like a photograph. They can show the same thing but it’s never the exact same. If they ever get close, it’s because the painting can be more life-like but the photograph cannot replicate the painting. The outfit changes during the transformation will never give the same effect as it did in the cartoon. No amount of money or budgeting for CGI is gonna change that fact. So to put it simply, stop whining about it. The show has a lot of faults but this is not a fixable one. 

Lastly, what I would want to see/what I’ve seen others asking for. Please introduce Brandon in season three, I love Stella’s character arch this season but I need her to have some happiness. Rivusa/more character development for Riven. I want to know more about Aisha’s past as well as Flora’s. More girl bonding as well as more male friendship. And Terra’s new love life explored. Maybe some actual Asian representation? There are a lot of characters from the cartoon that they haven’t utilized and they whitewashed the one Asian character they had so. Introduce. a Permanent. Asian. Character.

Thing that f*te the winx saga could've used to make it more ✨mature✨. I got this idea from two ppl but I literally can not find their post update: found one found the other one. Season 1

Have stormy take the identity of princess varanda of Callisto as a nod to the cartoon instead of Beatrix which was easy to guess

make them college age (in multiple different dubs alfea is a college)

Have the Brandon/sky switch but have it effect Brandon more because sky is closer to his father then he is because he can't be himself and have stella be in on it.

Have the love triangle be between aisha sky and bloom. Where Aisha and sky are in a arranged marriage they love each other in a platonic way but there is no love loss between them.

Split Aisha into two people aisha and layla twins/Irish twins with one having the standard mahogany brown/cinnamon brown hair and the other having the reddish brown pink highlight hair one being the fairy of oceans and tides and the other being the fairy of fluids

Have the switch be between aisha and layla who are swapping to see how each other life’s are

Give the parent plotlines that gave to Stella back to aisha (Stella’s plot with her mom is very close to Aisha’s in the cartoon at least to me.)

Introduce diaspro you know the girl who is blonde mean and in a love triangle with sky and bloom. fate!stella is practically diaspro

Do away with fate's magic system because winx club already had their own with more categories

Make Aisha a teacher assistant/student teacher instead of Farah suck up (My reasoning on this is that yes she is still the same age as the other girls namely stella but she created her own subcategory of how to use magic. She is really advanced and using advanced spell and skills to the point where some adult trouble with. I also feel like its another way for her parents to keep control over her.)

Make Aisha a specialist in a act of rebellion

Make tecna a specialist who is a gamer girl/hacker

Have diaspro and bloom be long lost sisters

Have stella and diaspro be sisters

stella, aisha and diaspro where roommate the previous year since both stella and Aisha were 17 when they debuted and have the be ra’s

instead of stella accidentally blinding her former roommate she preformed a convergence spell that was above her skill level and blinded her roommate or herself along with blewing up the dorm (which would come full circle in the way that her and her former roommate was out of balance, but when she does it with the girls it goes over smoothly. "When your hand is holding mine" they transform thanks to the power of friendship love and a Successful convergence spell and they gain transformation magic)

have stella blind herself on accident because of the bad way she was taught magic.

Have stella and Aisha be from rival kingdoms

make queen luna into countess cassandra

I like the idea of every time stella uses her power it bleaches her hair with the raw power of sun she is able to harness because the uv waves until it slowly becomes a pale blonde 

Have Aisha cling to every authority figure to fill the void that was left by her parents being so closed off towards her

Have Aisha be borderline clingy or even a little jealous towards her friends because she doesn’t understand how friendship works. Not understanding how boundaries works because her parents were not hands on parents. And just generally not understanding her emotions how to proceed them and how to express them for that reason too.

Have Aisha have a different view on love and how you should love someone and be loved by someone because of her parental trauma.

Show Aisha cracking under the pressure and expectation to be the perfect princess for her realm. Instead of the toilet incident then randomly being bad at her magic that went no where.

Instead of bloom setting the fire in her parents house out of anger have it be in her sleep have it be a throwback to the show when she was transforming in her sleep

Have mike and vanessa know about her powers and have her practice her powers safely with the help of her firefighter father

Have Vanessa be a Italian immigrant

Instead of Rosalind being trapped down there it would be Argulus a former classmate of farah’s who went to shadow haunt and got corrupted

Instead of rosalind being trapped have it be icy in alfea and Darcy in cloud tower with beatrix stormy in disguise trying to break them out

Instead of rosalind being trapped have it be the last ancestral witch

Fully comment to mixing musa with darcy

Utilize the dragon flame water star and starlight having designated host

Have daphne successfully escaped and go into hiding with bloom on earth

Say that the reason why fairies don’t transform anymore is because they wings keep getting plucked off as a throw back to the trix and galatea subsequently leaving them powerless so they evolved from it and it happened so long ago that nobody ever taught the new generation how to transform and with each generation they lost that part of them and bury it deep and deep inside of them.

Season 2

Introduce Brandon as stella's personal guard one of the solarian royal guard place there by queen luna due to Stella’s antics last season.

Introduce Brandon as relative of silva like nephew or giving Stella’s divorce parents plotlines to him saying that he grew up with both parents but after the divorce they feel out of touch because his mom took him home to her realm. Double point if he used to be friends with sky then moved to solaria as a child.

Introduce flora as the botany/earth and tecna as the air teacher

Introduce the wizards to teach a red fountain and introduce nabu that way since it was a school for wizards in s1 of the cartoon

Fate the Winx Saga is back and HOLY HELL was that first episode exactly what I needed

☑️ the amazing female friendship to pull off heists and their banter while doing so

☑️ conflicted!Riven, overcompensating Dane and their fascinating relationship with Beatrix, which I predict is about to implode spectacularly (shame as I did like evil hot threesome in S1)

☑️ pretty pretty Sky, swordplay and his angst over hot but evil dad (his hair is better this season but still way too much product, sigh)

☑️ whatever that push/pull was between Stella and Beatrix 👀👀 (I ship it)

☑️ everyone acknowledged Aisha has the main brain cell of the gang but also, her telling Bloom she can’t be her moral compass ❤️❤️❤️

This series is basically magical school fanfic (everyone including profs swearing up a storm, everyone is sexually adventurous and having threesomes or flirting in inappropriate situations and such, the boy characters wearing tight- fitting uniforms, everyone having super aware conversations- “sorry, are we having a trauma-off?” 😂)

it’s kind of funny how exactly my jam it is. If I wasn’t super into TSC still, could definitely see myself getting further into this fandom and writing stuff for it! Maybe at some point…

Btw the problem with Fate is that the cartoon had so many wonderful heart wrenching (if kinda weirdly written) stories between the characters, that could have so easily been adapted into live action. They just decided to take the name of Winx, and some of the characters names, and leave behind all of the substance that was already there. Jsyk.

Yeah that’s typically what Netflix does when they pick up shows for their catalog. It was an adaptation which means you use certain parts of the story but you turn it into your own. Had the creator of Winx been spearheading the show he could have fought tooth and nail to give you all what you wanted. Writers and producers don’t always get the final say in shows a lot goes through the company they are under (didn’t know that until someone pretty much told on Warner Bros.). Because Netflix does not own the rights to Winx they literally decided to make their own through someone else and just used the titles.

Now I’m not saying it wouldn’t have been nice to see the back stories winx created but this isn’t Disney where they own the rights to the marvel creators material. Not to mention based on the episodes I’ve seen of winx if it was as bright and cutesy it wouldn’t have gone into production because that is definitely not what Netflix would want. But who’s to say overall we wouldn’t have eventually gotten each individual characters back stories. I think in season 3 we would have learned Flora’s background, Aisha’s, Rivens, and maybe some more of Musa’s could have found out Musa wasn’t really Musa. Would it have been like the cartoon, no probably not but it probably would have had some of the elements fans enjoyed about the OG.

I do understand where you’re coming from but I also learned that directors, writers and producers do not always get the final say in scripts when it comes to big companies like Netflix. Could things have gone differently sure if Netflix owned Winx Club but since they don’t they literally took the characters you loved and changed the story it wouldn’t be an “original” for them otherwise. I think had Brian gotten the budget he needed and wanted we would have seen him sneak in a lot of what the Winx fandom wanted and loved but when you’re working with Netflix you have to tread lightly and they usually don’t give shows the budgets they need or deserve. I mean how else would they pay for actors like Dwayne Johnson, gal gadot, Ryan reynolds, Chris hemsworth, Charlize Theron and a bunch of other heavy hitting actors that know how to make box office money. With Netflix expect less, just set the bar on like a table or the floor when it comes to OGs asking “will we get what we want?” Nope, no not with Netflix.

Spooky season is practically upon us!

Every Halloween for the past three years, Enchanterium redesigns a winx club fairy to be dark version of themselves. While we wait to see who their newest victim will be, let’s take a look back to last Halloween and the magic they worked with Flora!

Now I know. I KNOW. If you are a winx club fan like me you probably also have PTSD from the TRAINWRECK that was fate the winx saga. But y’all I promise this video is so good, Barb and Alex really respect the spirit of the original character and turn it into something dark and beautiful! The Masked Part 1

Fandom: Fate the Winx Saga

A/N: This part is based on Season 1 but the rest will be pre- and in Season 2 (Rosalind’s era). So spoilers for them.

Series Masterlist

You woke to the vibrations of their makeshift bed and the engine of the Solarian guard car in which they slept. You could hear the words of the driver and passenger of the car, a pair of fairies, one a fire fairy and the other an air fairy. The two fairies were ‘friends’ with your best friends, Sky and Riven respectively.

“You stole a car? How do you know how to steal a car?“ You heard Bloom, the fire fairy, ask Beatrix, the air fairy.

“I know how to do a lot of things.” You heard Beatrix retort as they drove off to an unknown destination. Now why you were in a Solarian guard’s car was simple... No, you didn’t sleep with a guard that arrive that morning. You didn’t sleep at all the night before and when one of the guards, an old friend called Cathán, asked you to grab something from the car, you may have fallen asleep. 

The drive went on in silence, you laid stiff with tension. The car twisted and turned, the sound of tires over gravel the only other sound. Soon the car stopped, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Bloom and Beatrix stepped out of the car, causing you to exhale heavily,

“Aster Dell was a town, right? Are you sure this is the right place?” You heard Bloom ask, Beatrix replying.

“I'm positive.” 

“How could a town be marked on a map if it's on the side of a mountain?” Bloom asked as she walked further from the car. Your hand went towards your phone and read the most recent texts from Sky and Riven.

BlueEyes: Where the hell are you?!

Raven: Fuck this! Sky is calling Silva! So get your ass back here!

Soon enough, Bloom and Beatrix got back into the car, Bloom’s face depressed. You heard them talk about Rosalind and Aster Dell... Two very familiar names.

“Dowling imprisoned her. I'm at Alfea to break her out.” Beatrix explained before exclaiming as something hit the car. “Shit!”

The tires screeched and Beatrix ran out, only to be stopped by Headmistress Dowling and Professor Harvey, who was holding her in place using Earth magic. 

“Take Bloom. We’ll handle this.” Headmistress Dowling stated, your body froze in the back of the SUV. The group began to move away from the SUV when Silva then stated.

“You know... Y/N was missing today. Sky and Riven told me they weren’t on campus. Then one of the queen’s guards, Cathán, said that Y/N was helping him with something in the SUV before he got knocked out.” Silva explained, walking towards the back of the SUV. He opened the door to your sheepish face, staring blankly at you. “Get out, Y/N.“

Meanwhile back on the Alfea campus, Sky and Riven were talking to each other. They stood in the training grounds, wooden sticks in hand as they fought.

“And you’re sure Y/N isn’t here?” Riven asked Sky, his stick spinning as he hit Sky.

“We looked everywhere.” Sky explained, before dodging a swipe and blocking another hit. “I told Silva and...”

Sky was cut off by a loud ping and Riven’s phone went off a second later.

Silva: We’ve got them.

As they read the message, another appeared from their friend.

Y/N ⚔❤: You fuckers snitched! Silva hasn’t stopped yelling at me since he found me!!

Due to your ‘actions’, Silva placed you on house arrest with a curfew. Bloom was spied upon and Beatrix led away by Headmistress Dowling. A few days passed and soon you were called to arms against the Burned Ones.

“Y/N. We need to go!” Riven called out before you grabbed your dual swords with a silver hilt and ran outside the school. Unsheathing your swords, you began cutting down Burned Ones, leaving a trail behind you. In the distance, you could make out a redhead walking towards the Burned Ones and transforming, fire swirling around her. You began walking back to the school, passing out from exhaustion.

The next day, you stood outside with Sky and Silva when Solarian troops exited their vehicles and armed themselves, glancing between the three of you. A car door opened to reveal the figure of Queen Luna of Solaria, who walked up to you and began speaking.

“Saul Silva. It's with a heavy heart I must place you under arrest.” 

“For what?” Silva asked confused, you echoing.

“The attempted murder... of Andreas of Eraklyon.” Queen Luna explained. 

“‘Attempted’?” Sky asked, bemused. Another door opened, causing your heads to spin around, and a man in a specialist uniform stepped out. Closing the door behind him, Andreas walked forwards, glancing at Sky. Silva and Sky’s eyes widened in shock while yours widened in horror, your jaw clenching.

“Hello, Sky.” Andreas smiled at Sky before turning to face you. “Hello, little warrior.“

“...Andreas.” Came your cool reply, your stomach churning as Andreas’ smile widened as he looked at you. Sky’s eyes looked at you, betrayal evident while Silva barely spared a glance at you. “I assume there will be some changes to Alfea now.”
