Playlists
Should I make Playlists for some of the fic series I have made? I just listened to a song that reminded me of “Loki and His Follower” So I was wondering if that would be something anyone would be interested in. This may also get me out of a writers block for some of these! Feel free to send in music you think I might like as well!
Here are some Series that I have ideas for: Rebel (Father Matt Murdock x Reader x Father Figure Frank Castle)
Loki and His Follower (Loki Laufeyson x Reader)
My Missing Piece (Peter Parker x Autistic Reader) A Helping Hand (Joel Miller x Pregnant Reader)
The Undead Kind of Love (Vampire Bucky x Reader)

Frank Castle x Runaway reader
Holy fuck I’m back. whats up i have more shit to write and am currently re watching the Punisher because why not and yeah
IMPORTANT INFO:
The reader ran away from the mob and frank found them on the streets and was like “this anyone's kid?” and didn’t wait for a response. latter reader is scared that they are coming for the reader and there scared that they might try to hurt frank. Hes not having it.
Warnings: mob shit/mentions of dead family/ a little angst
It was New York dude. Everyone knew what the mob was. the thing is almost every New Yorker will tell you that they’ve never had an encounter with the mob. Your not every New Yorker. Wilson Fisk found you when you were a kid back on the streets. you were cold and hungry and he took advantage of you and used you to fulfil his needs.
He needed a body gaurd or some from of protection.
you did it.
He needed information?
you got it.
he wanted someone dead?
Done.
By the time you were 15 you had almost 50 dead men under your belt. All because of Fisk. That monster cheated you out of your childhood. So when Fisk was about to go to jail you left. But before you did you wanted him to know how much you hatted him by testifying agonist him in court. You left the mob bis but not the city. The bastard didn’t pay you enough for a bus ticket. and you loved the city, it’s your home. And he wasn’t going to ruin that for you. After he was in jail you were on the streets. Right back to where you started when you meet someone.
He was tall and had a marine haircut. It was Frank. One look at you and the man took pity. He keep seeing Lisa in you. Knowing she would be around your age. How can someone so young go through so much? You hadn’t showered in weeks and your hair was a mess. Your clothes smelt of body odour and you had dark raccoon like bang forming around your eyes. Yup Frank taking you home.
It took a lot of convincing thought but eventually you began to trust him. and he trusted you. It didn’t take long for him to learn who you are. after all, barley 15 and 50 murders under your belt?
This was all months ago.
Currently you were under a blanket watching the new on the TV while frank made the both of you tea. That was when you saw a face you thought you’d never see again. Fisk.
You froze and continued watching. “Today in hell’s kitchen, Wilson Fisk a notorious con artist and mob boss broke out of prison along with his 2 other partners. Police have closed all ways in and out of the city: streets, highways, along with planes being grounded to insure that he is taken into custody as soon as possible.”
You were so fixed on the TV that you didn’t notice Frank had already sat down beside you with both cups of tea in hand. Do you think he would come after you? I mean he would be pissed because you snitched but would he? would he try to hurt you? or worse. Frank? You squeezed your eyes tightly, as to get those thought out of your head but they were still there. Frank must have seen you do that and know what you were thinking. He put is arms around you shoulders and rubbed circles with his thumb on your shoulder. He wasn’t going to let anything happen to you.
After you finished drinking you tea you left to your room and went to bed. or no. You tried to go to bed. You couldn’t sleep. Thoughts still racing in your head. You couldn’t wait anymore. You needed to leave now and fast. You cant have him finding you and hurting frank. You grabbed your old duffel bag and threw your clothes into it: along with some food, water bottles, and phone. You were about to finish when frank walked in.
Did he here you?
“you cant come with me” you said. you could feel the tears behind your eye burn.
“The hell I can’t, what are you doing?”
“What the hell does it look like I’m doing? Did the open drawers and duffel bag not give you enough clues?” you said angerly.
Frank looked at you in the eyes the time “you don’t need to run,I’ll keep you safe.” You don’t know why but this pissed you off.
“You don’t know Fisk like I do!! He will come for me and everyone I care about including you!” you screamed “Frank please...I’ve already lost one family, I can’t lose you too” Frank gave you a look. You forgot that he lost a family too. At this point you were crying and you couldn’t stop.” Hey” he said firmly walking up to you. He engulfed you into a hug and let you cry into his shoulder. After a minute he looked at you and said
“Hey, Hey look at me.” He was cupping your face now and forcing you to look at him. he was wiping away your tears with his thumb “Look at me. I’m not gonna let anything bad happen to you do you understand me. Never ever. I’ve lost so much and I sure as hell don’t plan on losing you. Got it?” He looked like he was about to cry to. He kissed the top of your head and then your forehead and stayed there hugging you. Your his kid. If Fisk or anyone else thinks of laying a hand on you. He’ll be there to protect you.
sorry if this was short its 10:30 and
im tired
im also not re reading this so there are spelling mistakes

Me when about to get my degree: I love sociology of the penal control and i could read a river of ink on criticism of punitive populism because it sucks.
Also me, when watching or thinking about my fictional series: Frank Castle is my father figure, I would die for him. *daydreams escenarios about being this younger friend he looks after in a very father-daughter like found family way*

I’m posting something so like the 10 people who follow me don’t think I’m dead lol…
I think Frank should grab MCU Peter by the scruff of his neck. Mostly because I think it’d be funny, but it’d only be funny because I just know that Peter would immediately forget he has the ability to lift a train

••• Sharing the Bed•••
Frank Castle x AFAB Reader
Reader is wondering how things will be with Frank now after asking him to be her fake boyfriend at her sister’s wedding.
3.9k words
Inspired by the faking dating prompts from @thelonelyempath https://www.tumblr.com/thelonelyempath/705043295893618688/fake-dating-prompts?source=share
Using prompt #25 “I kinda liked sharing the bed with you”
I’ve had such a writing bug lately and im taking advantage of it while i’ve got it! Enjoy xxx
You were nervous to see him again.
It had been a couple weeks since you’d convinced Frank to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding.
You had panicked when your mom called you at work, saying you had pushed it off long enough and she needed an answer right now if you were bringing a plus one or not.
You almost said no, but after she made a snide comment about already knowing the answer—she was just asking as a courtesy to your sister—you cracked and told her you’d been seeing someone for months now.
When she asked who, your eyes had landed on one of the few patrons left at the bar that night.
Frank Castle.
Surprisingly he agreed to go. It was probably the desperation in your voice and the pleading of your eyes—you didn’t have time to think about how pathetic you felt—but you were thankful nonetheless.
It’s been 14 days since you got back and you haven’t seen him since. Not that you were counting the days or anything.
No texts.
No phone calls.
Just silence.
Normally you wouldn’t think much of it. Even though Frank had become a regular at the bar and restaurant you worked at, he’d disappear for days and weeks at a time.
You’d try and make small talk when he came back. Hoping to get any kind of inclination as to what Frank Castle got up to in his spare time.
He was still such a mystery to you. A very attractive mystery at that. One that you were determined to figure out.
However, as much as you tried, you never got the answer you were searching for.
It was always “business” or “nothing you’d find interesting, sweetheart”.
You never really gave it much thought when he offered those responses, you just accepted that Frank was not an open book. He was a locked book. One kept on the highest shelf that you’d probably never be able to reach.
And yet despite knowing all this you couldn’t help but wonder if your time away together had anything to do with his sudden absence.
You worried things would get awkward. Especially after having to share a bed together. He offered to sleep on the floor but you shot that down quick.
Not only would you feel enormously guilty having him sleep on the hardwood floor—he complained about his back a lot—but you were worried someone might walk in and your fake dating charade would unravel.
The silent crush you’d been harboring had only gotten louder after several days with Frank. Having to hold hands, talk sweetly to each other and even slow dance at the wedding had your mind all in a haze.
What was real and what wasn’t?
Did he feel anything? Or was he just a really good actor?
It was driving you crazy.
One thing was for certain, your family adored him. Especially your equally intimidating, hard-to-please father.
In fact, your dad liked him so much he invited him to go hunting in a few months.
It had taken years before he even extended an invite like that to your sister’s now husband.
You had to bite your lip to keep from laughing when you watched the way his eyes had widened and mouth parted when Frank agreed to go—your sister offering a reassuring pat to his arm.
You figured it had something to do with the fact they were both veterans. Your dad took an instant liking to anyone who could relate to the struggle and strength it took to serve in the military.
And your mother. The way she fawned over everything Frank said and did. His manners, how he consistently answered with “yes, ma’am” and “no, ma’am”.
She just about fell over when she came into the kitchen one morning to find he had managed to fix that pesky dishwasher that had been giving her trouble for months.
You smiled at the memory, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. Another thought had overshadowed it. One that caused a sudden pit to form in your stomach. How were you going to break the news to your family that things with Frank weren’t working out?
The plan was to give it a few weeks and then call to let them know you’d decided to take some time apart. You were both realizing you needed different things, but you would remain friends.
It sounded reasonable, but now? You didn’t think you could handle their disappointment.
You’d never seen them so proud of you. So happy for you. Pleasing your parents always felt like an impossible task. The closer you got there was always some dip in the road that caused that approval to move further and further away.
You finally bring someone home that they approved of only to rip the hope away from them. You were sure they’d find some way to blame it all on you.
You were starting to remember what it felt like when you told them you wouldn’t be going to college.
It didn’t matter that you were excellent at your job, managing both the bar and the restaurant on your own. It didn’t matter that you were able to make more than enough money to support yourself. And it certainly didn’t matter that you had helped exceed the profit goals of each quarter since you started.
It didn’t matter that you had been busting your ass to save back money to buy the place for yourself when the owner retired soon.
It only mattered that you didn’t have a “career” or a family to call your own.
Frank had picked up on the tension pretty early on. He did his best to talk you up. You found it sweet. Endearing even.
One night, while the two of you were dancing to some slow, sappy song your sister picked out, Frank called you out on your off demeanor.
You were surprised he noticed, you thought you had mastered the art of appearing fine when deep down you really weren’t.
“What’s on your mind, sweetheart?” he spoke lowly in your ear. One of his hands rested on the small of your back while the other held your hand close to his chest. His thumb ran back and forth along your hand and you tried to ignore the swarm of butterflies wreaking havoc on your stomach.
“I’m wondering how Uncle Steven has managed to go this long without throwing up. I thought for sure the cupid shuffle would’ve done it.”
Frank turned to look in the direction you were staring. Your Uncle Steven was somehow still performing the steps to the dance from 3 songs ago. Frank lightly chuckled as he watched Steven spill some of his beer on the couple next to him.
Though he couldn’t deny he was also wondering how the old man hadn’t crashed yet, he knew that’s not what you were really thinking about.
You were trying to deflect.
He was starting to learn just how stubborn you could be, but unlucky for you, Frank wasn’t gonna let you off the hook that easily.
“Nah that ain’t it.” he shook his head. “I can tell there’s a lot more going on behind those eyes.”
You were slightly relieved the lights were dim in the reception so he couldn’t see the deep blush heating up your face. You weren’t good at making eye contact with people you were crushing on.
“I think you’re imagining things.” you replied avoiding his gaze. “I’m just tired, I think this week is finally catching up to me.”
“Hm.” Frank hummed.
“What?”
“I think we’re about to have our first fight.”
You scoffed, ”Oh yeah? and what’s this ‘first fight’ gonna be about?”
“How you’re lying to your boyfriend.” he replied, speaking low into your ear again. It shouldn’t have caused the hairs on your neck to stand up but it certainly did.
“Look, you listen to assholes mope and complain all day long about their sad fucked up lives. I think it’s only fair to return the favor.” he shrugged. “So tonight i’ll do your job and you can let it all out right now. Minus the crude comments and shitty tips.”
You were about to laugh and lightly shove Frank for messing with you, but the look on his face made you pause.
He was being serious.
“Is it your folks?” he asked. “I saw your face when your dad gave that speech. That smile you were forcin’, it didn’t reach your eyes.”
You bit your lip and lowered your stare to the dress shirt he was wearing, playing nervously with one of the buttons to avoid looking up at him.
“That obvious huh?” you laughed sadly.
Frank felt bad as he watched the hurt wash over your features. He knew all too well the overwhelming pressure to please one’s family. He grew up with an overbearing father who never thought he’d amount to anything.
He knew how much that disappointment could eat you alive.
“It’s just, no matter what I do. I know my dad will never speak about me the way he does my sister. She’s an ivy league graduate who just got into med school. She’s married now, moving to a new city and probably going to be popping out kids before the end of next year. and me? In his eyes I'm just a bartender in a small town with no ambitious goal in sight.”
Frank nodded in understanding. He could see from the outside how the comparison could make you feel that way.
“Are you happy?”
You thought about it for a second. Even though the job had its ups and downs—managing a restaurant and a busy bar was no easy feat—you could honestly say you enjoyed what you did.
You got to know a lot of the locals well and it always made you feel good to know that you’d helped make their day or night a little better.
You loved the house you recently bought. It was a bit of a fixer upper but it was yours.
You loved how independent you were. How you could come home after a long day and you didn’t have to cook for a litter of kids.
It was just your dog, cat and you.
“Honestly? Yeah, I think I am.”
“Then fuck em.” he shrugged.
“Frank I-”
“Nah, nah.” he cut you off. “I know that’s your family but that don’t mean they’re always right. If you like what you do and you’re happy then who gives a shit what anyone else thinks.”
You processed Frank’s words and while you knew he was probably right, it didn’t mean it was easy to just tune out your parents’ criticism.
Frank seemed to know what you weren’t saying out loud because he followed it up with something that made your heart swell.
“All i’m saying is if they can look at you and what you’re doing and feel anything but proud there’s something wrong with ‘em. Not you.”
You could’ve kissed him right there but the song had ended and couples were clearing the dance floor.
Instead you walked back to the table with Frank, your arm looped through his.
You couldn’t help but think about how this man was screwing with your heart and your head and he didn’t even know it.
That much was still true all these days later. At this point you were dying for him to show up again.
Even if he didn’t talk to you, you’d at least know he wasn’t avoiding this whole place because of you.
The night was winding down, the 2 am crowd had begun to disperse and your eyes were fighting hard to stay awake. You’d chosen to work a double today, one of the other bartenders had a family emergency.
In your 20s you could work shifts like this and bounce right back the next day but now? In your 30s you were lucky if you managed to wake up without an achy back and sore feet.
“Phil, I'm gonna run the last of the trash out and then I'm heading home. I left the keys to lock up in the front drawer.” you shouted to the line cook in the back.
You could see him mopping up the kitchen floor so you knew he wouldn’t be too far behind you.
“You sure you don’t want me to go with ya this time?” he shouted back, “I’d hate for a creepy critter to make you run like you’d seen a ghost again.”
You rolled your eyes as Phil roared with laughter. Referencing the one time a little group of racoons had taken up residence inside the restaurant dumpster and sent you running like Freddy Krueger himself was chasing you.
“I think i’ll manage this time Phil, thanks for looking out.” you replied playfully.
You picked up the large trash bags and backed into the front door to head out. It was really inconvenient but they recently had moved the trash compactor across the street.
Not only was it annoying during the day when the streets were busy but it was extra spooky at night.
Once you were out of the door you turned around only to gasp and drop the trash bags you were holding.
“Jesus, Frank.” you cried, “What the hell were you trying to do, give me a fucking heart attack?”
You were too distracted by the adrenaline coursing through your veins to realize the man you’d been waiting to see for the last two weeks was finally standing in front of you.
“My bad, sweetheart. Didn’t mean to sneak up on you like that. I tried to go by your place and you weren’t there so I figured you might be here.”
You blew out a puff of hair and a couple pieces of your hair went flying.
“You were looking for me?”
“Yeah, sorry I know it’s late. I wanted to make sure you got this back. Somehow I think it got mixed up in my things.”
Frank pulled out a pink phone charger from his jacket pocket and extended it out to you.
You had a million of these things scattered around your house so you honestly hadn’t noticed it was missing. It was sweet of him to bring it back to you though.
“Oh Frank, you didn’t have to worry about that.” you replied, walking forward to retrieve it. “But thank you”.
You beamed a genuine smile at Frank while holding up the charger in your hand and he thought his heart had grown 2 sizes. Just like the Grinch his kids used to watch.
There was something about your smile that always stopped him in his tracks. He would never get tired of seeing it.
“Nah it’s nothin’.” he shrugged. “May I?”
He gestured toward the garbage bags sitting on the ground and bent over to pick them up.
“You don’t have to!” you tried to stop him, but subconsciously you knew it would be pointless.
Frank was always a gentleman and while he knew you would have no trouble carrying them on your own, he wouldn’t feel right not offering a hand.
“Can I atleast carry one of them?” you asked sweetly.
There was that damn smile again. How could he say no?
The two of you walked in silence for a bit, it wasn’t awkward but it was clear you were both trying to think of what to say next.
How do two people that recently spent a week pretending to be a couple go back to normal?
You decided to break the silence as the two of you walked back toward the bar.
“I, um, never got to properly thank you for helping with my family. I know it was probably a bit weird but it meant more to me than you could ever know. I think my parents would’ve had us get married that same night if it were up to them.” you laughed, playing nervously with your hands.
“Is that right?” Franked looked down at you with an amused expression.
“God, yes. I think you’re probably gonna be the only guy I bring home that they will ever like. I actually feel bad for the next guy that has to live up to the great Frank Castle.” you nudged him as you walked and he let out the most glorious laugh you’d ever heard.
You wanted to hear that more.
“Well if i’m the measuring stick for all the future men in your life then it’s your parents I feel sorry for.”
“Hey!” you exclaimed, playfully swatting his shoulder, “What do you mean by ‘all the future men in your life’? You think I still got a revolving door of men to get through before I finally settle down?”
It was meant to be playful banter, but there was a look that settled in Frank’s eyes and the mood suddenly got a bit more serious.
“I sure hope not.”
You weren’t sure how to take his comment. Maybe you were over analyzing but there was a part of you that was hoping he said that because he wanted you.
Wishful thinking of course.
You cleared your throat to help ease the tension.
“So, you just get back from whatever mystery place you squandered off to?”
“Just taking care of some business, sweetheart.”
That famous phrase again. You simply nodded. Accepting once again that you would probably not get any further information than that.
“But you know it’s funny.” he smiled, shoving his hands in his pockets. “There I was, lying in bed in some run down roach motel off the highway, having a hell of time trying to fall asleep each night.
“It coulda been the state of the motel—that place was a real shitbox—but the more I laid there, the more I realized it felt like I was missing something.”
Frank started fidgeting a bit. Almost like he was nervous or something. It was strange. You didn't think a guy like him got nervous.
“I realized, I kinda liked sharing the bed with you.”
Your heart started hammering away in your chest. Did you hear him right? Frank Castle liked sharing a bed with you? So much so that it was keeping him up at night?
You had to be dreaming.
“Really?”
You tried to act nonchalant but the word came out all high and squeaky. You don’t think Frank noticed though.
“Yeah, believe it or not I’d gotten so used to having no covers at night, I just tossed the damn thing on the ground.”
You gasped and punched his shoulder slightly. “Hey, I warned you I would probably take all the blankets. You coulda pulled them right back.”
Frank laughed again.
“Nah, you were too cute wrapped up like a burrito. Besides, I was more worried if I tried you’d whack my head or kick my nuts. You sure do move around a lot in your sleep.”
You feigned hurt, placing a hand to your chest.
“And just why do you miss sharing a bed with me so much? It doesn't sound so pleasant based on what you’re saying.”
Frank looked off and smiled. “I don’t know.”
A comfortable silence fell between the two of you.
“Look, uh, I’m not really good at this. I’ve been out of the game for a long time so you’ll have to forgive me but-”
“Frank Castle.” you cut him off.
“Yeah?”
“Are you about to ask if you can sleep in my bed tonight?”
Frank’s eyebrows shot up and a panicked sort of look took residence on his face. “Shit, no I didn’t mean it like that. I was just-”
He stopped when he saw you throw your head back in laughter.
“What?” he asked, trying to fight off the smile that was beginning to form on his own face. Your laugh was just too damn contagious.
“I’m sorry,” you said between breaths,”You shoulda seen your face. I was just messing with you Frank.”
“Oh yeah?” he laughed, poking your side. “You think that shit was funny huh?”
Suddenly you felt yourself being lifted off the ground and over Frank’s shoulder. “I can be real fucking hilarious. How about I carry you home just like this?”
“Frank!” you screamed playfully, swatting at his back. “Put me down you asshole!”
“No, I think I like this view better.”
You continued to hit his back and laugh. You were just about to come back with your own smart comment when you heard a car pull up beside you.
“Is everything alright here?”
You turned to look, adjusting your hair so it was out of your face. It was an officer staring at you both with a confused expression.
You could’ve sworn you heard Frank growl a little bit.
“Uh we’re good officer!” you smiled, giving him a thumbs up.
“She had a bit too much to drink tonight. Tried to drive home. Just makin sure she gets home safe. She’s a stubborn thing.” Frank spoke up, making sure to pat your ass for dramatic effect.
The officer seemed to buy this story.
“Well miss, you got a good man there. You should probably listen to him more often.” he replied before rolling up the window.
You gasped and Frank roared with laughter.
“Thanks officer!” he shouted as the man drove away.
You poked his side hard and he finally released you, setting you down in front of him. Your faces were real close together now, and the smiles you both had slowly fell.
There was a quiet moment before you quickly leaned in and kissed Frank. He seemed surprised at first but thankfully responded and pulled you in tighter.
His hands roamed your body while yours held his face.
You pulled away gently, and he rested his forehead on yours.
“You know, I thought you’d been avoiding me.” you said quietly.
“Yeah?” he replied, moving a piece of hair behind your ear.
“I know you disappear sometimes but I thought this time was gonna be different.”
Frank nodded, running his hands down your shoulders before grabbing both of your hands in his own.
“You know, I got a confession.” he said quietly, “I swiped that phone charger before we left.”
You leaned back and looked up at him.
“What?”
He let out a soft chuckle. “I know it’s stupid but I wanted an excuse to see you again. Like I said, it's been a while since I’ve done anything like this and I didn’t think I could just approach you in the bar like before.”
“It’s not stupid.” you smiled, squeezing his hands. “It’s sweet.”
“So i’m sweet now? Just a second ago I was a asshole.”
“Both can be true.” you shrugged.
He scoffed. “Come here.”
Frank pulled you into him and you wrapped your arms around his waist. He placed a kiss on your head and it suddenly felt like it did when you were with your parents.
It just felt natural.
“Let me take you out.” he said, pulling back and tilting your chin up at him. “On a real date.”
You bit your lip and smiled, “I’d like that.”
“Good.” he replied before kissing you again.
“Now let’s go before that cop comes back around and you gotta act drunk for him.”
You rolled your eyes, “Whatever you say, Frank. I gotta listen to you more right?”
“Attagirl.” he smiled, before putting his arm around your shoulder.

Neighbors [Prologue]
Pairing: Frank Castle x Fem!Reader Word Count: 1.9k
Summary: Between running Common Grounds, chasing after your escape artist husky, and helping your financially struggling brother out by watching your niece, your days are always busy. But shortly after a new neighbor moves into the other side of your duplex, you start receiving mysterious threats. Surprisingly, you eventually find safety and comfort in the reclusive neighbor whom your niece and dog have both come to befriend.
Warnings/tags: 18+; contains friends to lovers, violence, fluff, eventual smut, angst
a/n: This is just a short prologue to this little fic and unfortunately there's only mentions of Frank, he doesn't make an appearance until the first chapter. Also yes, Reader has a family, but I try my best to keep physical descriptions nonexistent and allow for y'all reading to either view Reader as biologically related to her brother, or to view her as adopted at birth. Feedback is always appreciated and the chapter list for future updates can be found here!

“Alright, coffee bean,” you said, opening the back door of your car, “what’s first on the agenda for this afternoon?”
A bright smile lit up Lily’s face as you leaned into the backseat, beginning to unbuckle her from the carseat. Her feet swung back and forth in her pink shoes as she waited for you to undo the restraints, a thoughtful ‘hmm’ coming from her as you undid each buckle. Though you already knew what she was going to say, because it was the same answer every time.
“First we need a snack,” she answered.
“Oh we do, do we?” you asked with a grin.
“We always start with snack time, Nini,” she stated matter-of-factly in her small voice.
Your grin grew wider at the nickname she still called you after all these years. When she was younger, she'd struggled to properly say ‘auntie,’ instead the word coming out as ‘nini.’ So Nini you happily became.
Finished with undoing her buckles, Lily slid out of her seat, grabbing her backpack and stuffed husky–the plush that was almost an exact replica of your dog that she carried absolutely everywhere with her–from the seat beside her. While she began to climb her way out of the car, your attention was drawn away by the sound of your neighbor’s front door closing. Glancing over your shoulder and past your driveway over to the duplex beside yours, you spotted your landlord, Cora. Her back was to you as she continued to lock up the duplex next door to yours.
You’d been wondering why her car had been parked in the neighboring driveway when you’d first pulled up. She hadn’t mentioned anything about stopping by for anything today to you, so you figured her visit had something to do with the neighboring unit. Curiously you wondered if she had finally gotten a tenant for that duplex, because you knew it had been empty for the past couple of months. Not many people wanted to move to a small town in Michigan. Though it wasn’t like you’d been complaining about the lack of noisy neighbors for the past couple of months. The peaceful silence of not sharing a wall with someone had been great, and so had been having the entire shared backyard to yourself.
Lily’s small hand grabbing onto yours broke you from your thoughts, your focus shifting back down to her now standing at your side. She was grinning up at you, her purple backpack on her back and her husky clutched tight to her chest with her other arm.
She’d just finished preschool for the day today, and as usual, you’d picked her up afterwards. She attended preschool three days a week for only half a day–paid for by you, because your brother was struggling to make ends meet as it was being a single dad in debt. He sometimes even worked a second job at a bar in town at night, and on those nights Lily stayed with you.
Your brother Jamie was truthfully a great father, but he had been struggling financially even before Lily came into the picture. It didn't help that Lily’s mother had bailed on the pair of them almost immediately after giving birth, leaving Jamie all alone to figure everything out.
All alone except for you, of course. Because there was no way in hell you'd let your brother and his poor little baby girl suffer. Since Jamie couldn’t afford traditional daycare, you had offered to watch your niece whenever he was working. And it had been that way for years. Nowadays that meant sometimes you’d take her down to Common Grounds, the coffee shop you owned downtown, and let her help you out or work on her own activities while you finished whatever you needed to. Other days you’d find ways to keep the pair of you entertained at your place or around town. It was an arrangement you didn’t truthfully mind because Lily was a fairly well behaved four year old and you genuinely loved spending time with her. You knew you'd miss her constant company when she finally started kindergarten in the fall.
“And what do you think we should have for a snack?” you asked her.
“Apple cookies!” she exclaimed instantly. “You make them better than daddy!”
“Well you're in luck,” you told her, closing the car door, “because I just bought fresh strawberries yesterday.”
Beside you, Lily happily jumped up and down, emitting a squeal of delight. The sight of her had you laughing as she began pulling at your hand, beginning to drag you up the length of the driveway. But the pair of you didn't get far before you heard your name being called out. Turning towards the voice, you spotted your landlord Cora. You sent her a smile and a wave in greeting.
“Good afternoon, Mrs. Phillips!” Lily cheerfully called out, waving her stuffed husky enthusiastically at Cora.
“And good afternoon to you, Lily!” Cora said, stopping at the edge of the neighboring driveway and leaning down towards the girl. “How was preschool today?”
“Good!” Lily exclaimed. “Nini and I are going to make apple cookies for snack now!”
“Oh you are? Well those sound yummy,” Cora told her. Her eyes returned to you, a warm smile on her face as she straightened back up. “And how're you doing, dear?”
Laughing lightly, you shrugged your shoulders. “About as busy as always,” you replied. “But that's better than being bored, I suppose.” You gestured your head towards the duplex she just left. “Did you finally find someone for the unit?”
Cora nodded as she said, “I did, actually. So it seems you'll finally be getting a neighbor. Just one, though. But he seemed to be a very polite gentlemen from the few times we have spoken at least.”
Your heart sank at the news, but you did your best to refrain from letting the disappointment show on your face. So not only were you getting a neighbor again, but it was a single man. Probably a bachelor of some sort. You only hoped he wouldn't be bringing many dates back to his place. Not just because you didn't want to hear anything through that shared wall, but you didn't want Lily to overhear anything on the nights she stayed over, either.
“Oh?” you asked. “When uh, when is he moving in?”
“He moves in tomorrow actually,” Cora told you. “He seemed eager to get settled in as soon as possible and I couldn't quite complain. I've been needing to fill that place for a while now.”
Lily began to tug impatiently at your hand. Glancing down at her, you saw the slight frown on her face. She was tired of the ‘adult talk’ already, you could see it on her face.
“I suppose I'll be meeting him soon then,” you said, focusing back on Cora. “But I should probably get Lily inside and get going on those apple cookies of hers.”
Lily resumed enthusiastically hopping from one foot to the other at the mention of her favorite snack. “Yes please, Nini!”
“Alright dear,” Cora said, that warm smile still on her face. “You girls take care. And let me know if there's any problems with the new neighbor, okay? You know I worry about you two.”
Taking a step back in the direction of your front door, you nodded. “I'm sure everything will be just fine, Cora,” you told her. “But I'll be sure to let you know if anything comes up.”
You sent her a final wave before turning around and continuing up towards your own front door, Lily once again tugging at your hand. As the pair of you neared the front window of your duplex, you could hear the distinct happy barks of greeting from your husky. She was standing at the front window, her tail wagging enthusiastically as faint whines penetrated through the glass in between her impatient barks.
“Penny! Penny!” Lily cried out.
The little girl released your hand, bolting over towards the window. Penny's whining only increased in response to your niece as you finished making your way to the front door, searching for the correct key on your keyring. Placing your key into the lock, you twisted it just before the sound of Penny's feet frantically racing over towards the door met your ears. Seconds later Lily was back at your side, excitedly bursting into your place in front of you the moment the door was opened. Her arms were wrapped around Penny's neck in a hug by the time you stepped inside, giggling as your dog began to happily lick the side of her face.
“Lily, shoes off please!” you called out to her.
Reluctantly breaking away from Penny, Lily made her way back over to where you were taking off your shoes in the entryway. As she sat down to take hers off, you placed yours in the entry closet.
“So what should we do after snack time today?” you asked her, turning around and helping her remove her shoes. “We have a couple of hours before your dad comes to pick you up. Should we watch a movie? Color? Find a craft to do?”
You grabbed Lily’s shoes from her, turning back around to place them in the closet beside yours before closing the door. When you focused back on her, she was contentedly scratching Penny's ears and watching as the dog's tongue lolled out of her mouth in sheer bliss, Penny’s eyes partially closing.
“No, I don't want to do those today,” Lily told you, shaking her head. “I want to…bake!”
“Okay,” you said, making your way through the living room and towards your kitchen. “What do you want to bake? Brownies? Cookies?”
“Cookies!” she replied. “For your new neighbor!”
You paused at the entrance of your kitchen, your back to your niece as you heard her little footsteps and Penny's following after you. You hadn't expected that to be her answer.
“Alright,” you said slowly, dragging the word out. “So…you want to make cookies for the new neighbor moving in tomorrow?”
“Yep!” she answered. “It’s nice to bring people cookies, isn’t it?”
“Well, yeah,” you replied. “So should we make chocolate chip cookies after snack time, then?”
“Uh uh,” she immediately replied. “Heart cookies.”
Your eyebrows shot up even further onto your forehead. She wanted you to make heart shaped cookies for your new, single male neighbor?
“Coffee bean,” you began carefully, turning around to face her, “it's not February anymore. We don't–”
Lily crossed her arms over her chest, stomping one foot down in defiance as she stared up at you. “I want to make him heart cookies with pink frosting and sprinkles, Nini.”
You stood there for a moment dumbfounded, your gaze holding her unwavering one. When she didn't back down, your eyes shifted over to Penny who was standing beside her. The dog's head only tilted to the side as she sat down, somehow seemingly mimicking your niece's defiant posture. With a sigh you turned back around, heading over to your fridge and feeling outnumbered.
“Okay, okay,” you relented. “After snack time we can make my new neighbor heart shaped cookies with pink frosting and sprinkles.”
“Yay!” Lily cheered, running over to sit at the kitchen table, Penny darting off just behind her. “They're going to be so beautiful! He’s going to love them!”
And hopefully this new neighbor is truly as nice and polite as Cora said , you thought as you grabbed an apple from out of the fruit drawer of your fridge. Because I don't know how a grown single man is going to react to receiving heart shaped cookies with sprinkles as a welcome gift…but so help me he better not hurt her feelings.

The first evening Frank Castle had visited your home you weren’t there, off galavanting around with some of your friends in a nearby town. Your presence in the home was obvious to Frank, from the scented hand soaps by every sink to the baby pink door down the hall from the kitchen and finally, the big picture of you and your father that hung in the living room. He didn’t think much of any of it, a single dad living with his daughter was nothing out of the ordinary.
He’d met you in the driveway hours later when he went to leave, you had just pulled into your usual spot in the gravel. He was still leaning on the bed of his truck talking to your father, who reprimanded you for being out so late.
“How old are you?” Frank asked, tilting his head to the side as his eyes scanned over your frame. He figured you were still young, maybe twenty at best, by the picture in the living room. Even in the dark he could see the blush that crept up your neck from his attention.
“Twenty-two.” Your voice was quiet, your dad’s friends never spoke to you much. The man in front of you was nothing short of a sex dream, you’d never had one but if you looked at him any longer you were sure to have one soon.
“What’s your name?” The amount of questions he was asking was making you nervous, the small town you lived in meant everyone knew everyone. Newcomers weren’t very often and even then they were never your neighbors, sure he lived acres away from you but it was still…new.
Your dad interrupted whatever words were going to come out of your mouth and formally introduced you, it felt childish for him to do the work. The blush was turning a deeper shade, this time from embarrassment.
“She just goes by Peach though, has since she was itty bitty.” Your dad laughed, playfully hitting your arm.
You said your goodnights and walked towards the house, turning around to give Frank a second glance. Your eyes made contact with his, the blush was burning at this point. You closed the front door behind you, leaned against it, and exhaled loudly. This was the only friend your dad ever had over that was insanely handsome and spoke to you.
The second evening Frank Castle visited your home, you were there. You had just finished showering, the smell of vanilla and honey wafting through the house as he came inside. You hadn’t heard him coming in, leading to the confrontation in the hallway. Only clad in a towel that was hanging on for dear life. Eyes wider than a deer who had been caught in headlights. Frank cleared his throat, trying to avoid looking at you.
“My dad is out back, uhm I didn’t hear you come in.” Your hands rushing to hold the towel tighter against your skin, the same blush creeping up your neck.
“Nah, it’s my fault. Apologies, honey.” He scratched at the beard on his neck, clearing his throat once again before making an indication he was going to leave to find your dad.
You rushed to your room to get dressed, absolutely mortified that he’d seen you like that. You weren’t religious by any means but no man, or boy, had ever seen you in anything less than a swimsuit. A swimsuit that covered most everything at that. The guilt had flooded you almost instantly, you hadn’t done anything wrong and yet you felt the need to to repent of your actions. Frank, on the other hand, had been glad to have gotten a glimpse. The small conversation he had with you the very first night had intrigued him, the picture on the wall of your living room was nothing compared to you standing in front of him. Blushing from head to toe in a frilly pink dress.
He asked your dad about the pink, got some half-assed answer about how you never truly grew up. Frank figured it was because your dad never let you, meant more help around the ranch so he never complained about the girliness that overtook the house. The more he learned about you the more he wanted to twist everything you knew about yourself and the world. He’d take the title of a twisted man if it meant corrupting you. You’d never had a real drink of alcohol, never had sex, never did anything that Frank considered fun. You needed fun, he decided.
The third night Frank Castle visited your home solidified his decision. He’d moved out to a small Texas ranching town to get out of his head, move from everything he knew. He, however, didn’t realize he’d meet a sweet thing like you that he couldn’t get out of his head. He spent just as many evenings in the local bar trying to find another woman, more his age, to get you out. Nothing worked, no matter who he fucked you stayed there. Clouding his thoughts. Sweet Peach who didn’t know a thing about how dirty an old man could be.
You’d been tending to the small flower beds in front of the house, bent over in the mulch that was sticking to your knees, when you heard his truck pull up. The gravel crunching under his tires overpowering the song you were humming softly. You turned around to give him a small wave, your signature sweet smile proudly on display. He simply nodded his head and watched as you turned back around to tend to the flowers, eyeing the way your shorts hugged your ass when you bent all the way over. No way in hell was he going to change his mind, not even if it meant going to hell.

As you pulled open the zipper on your backpack that was momentarily resting on the wobbly porch bench, a small smile tugged at your lips as your gaze washed over the dancing figures distantly in the garden. Softly lit by the twinkle lights strung from the trees, you caught sight of Donna, in the middle of the grassy dancefloor, swaying closely with a man about a head shorter than her, the strong embrace she had around him smooshed his face far into her bosom. Twirling around, she caught the eye of both Otto and your father who were off to the side, dancing as if they were in Studio 54.
Shifting the tupperware of cake under your arm, you fished out your phone from your bag’s front pocket and began to type out a message.
Y/n: Finally done! Hope you’re not asleep yet because I am on my way!
And just a few short moments later, your phone plinged with a reply.
Frank: Don’t worry, sweetheart. I am wide awake.
Smiling softly to yourself, you tucked your phone away, nearly shoving it into the folded-up cotton of the underwear you’d rid yourself of just minutes earlier when you had dipped inside to grab your stuff from your room.
Closing the front compartment, you slung the backpack over one shoulder and smoothed a hand down over the deep green velvet wrap dress that enveloped your curves, hugging you and cascading off like a waterfall.
Casting one last glance over your shoulder at the celebrations still in full swing, you slowly made your way out front to where your car was parked among all of the guests’.
With gravel crunching beneath your modest heels, you neared your vehicle, tugging your bag around to your front as your fingers fiddled after your keys. Halting just as you neared the door, you glanced down a moment before finally finding the keys at the very bottom of your bag.
But just as you fished the jangly bundle out and moved to unlock your car, heavy pairs of footsteps rustled in the gravel behind you.
Absentmindedly glancing over your shoulder, assuming that it was just a sleepy wedding guest ready to go home, you instead spotted two big, rough-looking individuals that you didn’t recollect from the day’s festivities. Just as you opened your mouth to speak, your words ended up muffled as they rushed and closed the gap between you, one of them clasping a palm over your lips, nicotine staining the harsh flesh and burning in your nostrils.
The cake and the keys tumbled to the ground with your backpack soon following suit as they grabbed you, lifted you off your feet and hauled you towards a close by dark van you hadn’t even blinked at before. You tried to get free, kicking and screaming in their grasp, but all your struggles granted you was the loss of both of your shoes.
As they threw you into the back of the vehicle, the tumble itself onto the cold metal floor left you breathless and aching, the alarmed words, “what are you–,” escaped your lips just before one of the men stepped in after you and the other slammed the door shut. Sitting down on the small bench on the side wall, his hands dipped into a duffle bag as you squeaked, “let me go!”
Not even casting a glance off in your direction, he just conjured a roll of duct tape as you soon felt the van begin to drive off.
Leaning in, the man captured your wrists and began to bind them up.
“This must be a mistake, I-I think you’ve got the wrong person,” tears rolled down your cheeks as he moved to restrain your ankles, “i-if you just stop and drop me off, I promise I won’t go to the authorities,” you trembled like a leaf on the grimy floor, “please, just let me go!”
“Shut up, bitch,” he shot back coldly.
Casting a glance over your shoulder at the small window that looked to the driver’s seat as well as the night’s swallowing darkness they speeded into, you tried to ask, “w-where are you taking me?”
“I said,” the man looming above you growled before he tore off another piece of tape and forced it over your lips, “shut up,” soon following it up with a dark cloth bag that he tugged over your head.
Disappearing into the void, you had no idea how long the bumpy car ride took. Could have been an hour, could have been a day. The time was impossible to decipher as all you could feel was the paralysing terror that ravaged every inch of your being.
But at some point, the van did roll to a stop and you heard the doors again be ripped open.
A shrill yelp muffled against the tape as you felt numerous rough hands grab a hold of you and haul you out. Your balance was non-existent as your bound feet met freezing concrete, the bruising grips being the only thing holding you upright.
It took a moment for your eyes to adjust to the harsh fluorescent light after they ripped the dark hood off, a few strands of your hair following with them in the action.
You were in a parking garage of some sort, but that discovery wasn’t what made you nearly faint. It was the familiar, suit-clad man standing before you with his ring-adorned hands shoved casually into his pant pockets.
“Hello, doll.”

Get-up-and-go  part 1
Heyyyyy... so i haven't posted much and I’m sorry for that my life has just been really busy rn and I’m getting back into writing.
ANYWHO- here’s a story with frank and his adoptive child being on the run :)
Gender neutral reader
relationship is platonic with a capital P
Tumblr media
It was late at night, maybe 11 or 12 o;clock but it was late nonetheless. You had fallen asleep on the couch in front of the tv, your arms stretched around the sofa and a blanket covering you. You were melting in the heat of this September night. You began to peel your body off the couch and make your way to the kitchen to make a tea and maybe grab a snack.
the news was on.
It was a rule in your house to always have the news on. If it wasn't on the TV it, was on the radio. But it was always on in some way shape or form. Frank said it was good to know what is going on in the city at all times.
As the kettle was heating up on the stove you couldn’t help but over hear the story the news anchor was telling.
“An apartment building in Brooklyn was burned to the ground in a booming earlier tonight, the police have no suspects and have made zero arrests as of late, i will keep you updated as the situation unfolds.”
You move closer to the TV and notice the address of the building.
That’s close to where Miles lives
Miles Morales, your best friend. and a part of your iconic trio. Miles, you and America. Miles was one of the first people you meet in New York, and frankly one of your closest friends.
You pulled your phone out in a panic and clicked on the saved number with miles face on it.
“MILES?!” you yell into the phone “MILES?!”
“..Yeah its me wassup” says a tired Miles. He must have been sleeping by the sound of his grubby voice into the phone. A relieved sign escaped your lips. “Are you OK?! A building near you was blown up !” Now miles must have been a little worried because the sleepy Miles that you called earlier was gone.”What where?!” he said, you could hear his bed squeaking so he must now be sitting up. “ Two streets down from you” I said into the phone, “Turn on the news”. You could hear Miles’ dad call Miles. “ I have to go y/n I’ll call you when I can, OK?” “OK” I replied and hung up. Something was different when you looked at the news screen now.
12 dead 19 injured.
Fuck.
Amid all this you don’t know where Frank is. Double Fuck. You called him. No answer.  Again. No answer. Again. No answer.
The next 20 minutes consisted of you pacing back and forth in your small apartment trying not to freak the fuck out. Then the door finally opens, Its Frank, and he’s a mess. “Frank” you say staring at him  standing in the hall. Hes covered in blood which. to be fair, is normal Frank behaviour. But what threw you off was what his boots and face was covered in.
Ash, building ash.
“Kid..” he grumbled under his breath. “Y-You need to get your bag.” This time he sounded genuinely worried.
The bag he was lovingly referring to was your ‘Get-up-and-go’ bag. You’ve been with frank since you were a little kid, and since then hes made you pack such a bag. A get-up-and-go bag is used when you and frank need to leave the city fast. That bag contains clothes for 5 days, water, snacks, a first aid kit, 150 dollars in cash and a flip phone burner. On said burner had four numbers, Franks, Karen’s, Curtis’, and some random contact labled ‘Micro’ that frank said you should only use as a last resort.
You nodded and grabbed the bag from under your bed and walked to the front door. Frank was cleaning the blood and ash from his face in the bathroom. He finished up and grabbed his bag and with that, You both disappeared.
You got into the van and drove away, your head leaning against the window of the vehicle watching your apartment building fade into a speck. You look over at Frank.  “Are you gonna tell me what happened?” you asked calmly, “No”. “When we get somewhere safe we will talk about it, but right now, we need to focus getting out of the city” He states. you wait till you ask the next question. “Dose this have anything to do with what happened in Brooklyn?” You asked. Frank remained  silent.
The city look so different at night. A sea of black with specks of light, each light a home with people who are living out there lives. Its a strange feeling, realising how small we are. As you left the city you and Frank stayed silent. You had millions of questions running through your mind at once but didn't know how to ask them. You looked over at Frank, the same fixed expression as before he looked over to you. It must have been around 1 in the morning at this point. “Hey kid, I know your tired and you want answers and you’ll get them but we need to get out of the city first. he placed a hand on your shoulder. you nodded and laid your head on the window of the van and fell asleep.
You woke up at 4:00 because Frank swerved the car and you almost crashed. “Frank, you need sleep” you said. Frank let out a sigh. “The next motel I see, were staying there” you noded and the both of you continued driving.
You pulled into this shady motel of the street and got a two bedroom for a night. You flopped into the bed as did Frank.
“Fuck” Frank said
“What?” You said “What did you do?”
“Y’know that building that blew up in Brooklyn?”
“Yes”
“I blew it up”
Triple Fuck.

Oh.
He has a kid. A child.
You unknowingly release your finger off of the trigger that had not yet been pressed, lowering the gun as you stared at the mans tattoo on his chest. It peeked through his black wife beater, but it was clear enough as he held his hands up in surrender.
A tattoo of a child. A child that’s probably at home, tucked away in bed right now, wondering where his dad is. And by tomorrow will probably ask his mother why he hasn’t come home yet and as the day goes on, wonder if he ever will. And when he finds out, he’ll be crushed. And he’ll grow up without a father figure and-
“Shoot him, Y/N!” You’re broken out of your thoughts by an agitated Frank.
You look up at Frank, where he stands atop the metal staircase, having just killed the last backup man that accompanied the one you needed to shoot. The one you begged Frank to let you kill.
In your moment of distraction, looking up at a very frustrated Frank, your guy charged at you. You barely had a moment to react as he easily snatched your gun out of your weak hand, twisting your arm in the process and holding you against him.
Your back was against his front as he caged you in with his bicep, your own gun pointed at your head as he pressed a knife to your throat- one that he had pulled out of his pants in his stride towards you.
Frank was quick to act then, practically teleporting as he jumped from the staircase he was on before the guy could react quick enough to kill you.
His fear of Frank was evident as he dropped all efforts to harm you and instead run away from Frank. You slipped out of his grip, but not without getting deeply cut by his knife that had flailed in the air.
“Ah-“ You fell to the ground, the deep pain and burn of the cut against your shoulder literally menacing.
Frank payed you no mind once you were somewhat safe and at least out of the man’s hold, tunnel vision on his target as he held his own gun up and shot numerous rounds.
A loud thud sounds and some gutteral groaning. As you look over to where Frank stands, you see a helpless body at his feet. He fires a few more rounds into the body, not that it makes any difference, but Frank was mad.
You stand from the ground, regaining your footage as you inspect your wounded arm. Blood quickly starts to stain your sleeve, and the fabric almost inserts itself into the cut everytime you move, so you make a mental note not to move so much until you can be patched up.
“Hurry up.” Frank mutters behind you, stepping over the body carelessly and not bothering to spare you another glance. But you don’t push your luck. You follow suit, picking up your discarded gun from the floor and trailing close (but not obnoxiously close to make him angrier).
The fresh air is nice once you reach it. But it does little to soothe your nerves as you can only watch Frank’s tense back staunch towards the van.
David’s stupid smiling face makes you feel a little better though.
As you’re smiling softly at David through the window of the car, Frank roughly opens the van door and steps aside. As he turns to you, he snatches the gun out of your hand, “Get in.” He orders.
You keep your head down, at this point trying not to cry as both the pain of your cut and the pain of Frank’s demeanour puts you on complete edge. You know you messed up. You know how badly Frank wanted this man dead. But it was just a mistake. You probably would’ve shot him if he didn’t charge at you the way he did.
You take a seat, sitting as close as possible to the door- as if to get away from Frank. He slams the van door closed and heads for the passenger seat, sitting beside David as he starts up the car.
David senses the tension as he side-eyes Frank, so he makes no effort to ask any questions as he begins the drive back home.
You lean your head against the cold window of the car, shutting your eyes as you literally feel the anger continue to radiate off of Frank’s body.
You feel you should explain yourself. Maybe he didn’t know the real reason why you didn’t initially go through with shooting him. Maybe he just thought you were backing out because you were too scared to shoot him- but that was not the case at all.
You open and close your mouth a number of times, going to speak but losing the words as Frank locked jaw sticks out. You bite your lip and fiddle your fingers, sighing briefly before finally saying, “He had a kid.” It was a weak explanation, your voice quivering halfway through as his ears perked up.
There’s a beat and you swallow a breath, awaiting his response.
He shakes his head and you know you’re done for, “You mean a tattoo of his kid- a bad one at that. He scoffs. Ah, so he saw the tattoo. “That kid probably wants nothin’ to do with him anyways. Probably wanted him dead just as much as I did.” He spits, words laced with anger as he speaks them, “A fuckin’ kid.”
You huff to yourself, just wishing he would hear you out, “It’s just that- he’s probably wondering where he is right now or what time he’ll come home-”
“Doesn’t fucking matter, Y/N!” He yells, catching you by surprise, and David too from the way he flinches slightly, “You wanted to kill him- and you didn’t. And you almost got hurt because of it.” ... Almost? Did he not see your arm?
“Okay, well I’m sorry for having a little sympathy for a fatherless child.” You boldly reply, getting loud yourself but immediately regretting it as he scoffs again, much louder this time. He then turns in his seat to face you and you immediately cower.
“Okay, so if you had Osama Bin Laden sitting in fronta’ you, and he showed you a picture of some kid-“
“Stop.” You plead, avoiding his gaze and trying to look out the window- but his stare was just so menacing and taunting. And you wanted to avoid an argument- if that were even possible at this point.
“No, tell me, would you shoot him?” He relents.
“Obviously I would fucking shoot him, Frank. This is different-“
“It’s really not.” He shakes his head, turning back around after rolling his eyes from seeing the tears escape your eyes, “Whatever. From now on, I don’t want your help.”
Your head whips up at that, brows knit together and hurt evident across your face tenfold. Frank has to hold back from turning around… knowing well that if he saw the look on your face right now, he’d regret everything- not that he already does.
“Frank, it was one time-“
“I got a fucking headache, alright? So just drop it.” He says, almost uncontrollably.
You want to argue further. You want to scream and kick until Frank realises it was just a little mistake… the guy died in the end anyway so what does it really matter?
But your throat is practically closing up. It feels so tight as you try and hold back your cries and whimpers. The pain in your arm feels like it’s only intensifying. And you also hate that you’ve put poor David in this situation.
You would’ve asked Frank to help you with your arm when you got home, but now you don’t think he would even want to help- since you know, he doesn’t want yours.
So you keep your mouth shut and your head down, wiping a stray tear every so often as you get closer and closer to home.
-
As soon as David parks the car, you get out. You couldn’t bare being in that tense silence any longer.
Thanks to David’s technology and whatever gadget he installed on the door, it unlocks for you without you needing a key and you enter without looking back.
You make your way straight to the bathroom so that you can wash up and go to bed before having to make any other interaction with Frank.
Frank sighs as he watches your clearly kicked form disappear into the warehouse without a second look back.
He knew he fucked up. Knew it the second the words were coming out of his mouth. But he was too big headed to apologise in the moment, so he kept going. And maybe he was projecting the anger towards himself for saying such nasty things further onto you and it was just this never ending cycle from there.
Frank turns his head to the side, looking over at a very awkward David who doesn’t know what to do, “Was I a little too harsh?”
“A little?” David huffs, but nervously. Even though he had your back in this predicament, he was still scared of Frank (at some times).
“Fuck.” Frank sighs again, throwing. his head back against his head rest, “I was just- frustrated.” He throws his hands up in the air, trying to make some sense or explanation of his behaviour, “And I do have a headache.”
Its silent for a moment as Frank waits for David’s input- though he doubts he’s going to have much useful advice for him.
“So this is kind of like a… like a trouble in paradise kinda thing for you.” Point proven.
Frank looks at David’s totally serious face with a raised brow before just nodding, “Yeah, totally.”
-
You had showered carefully, so as to not disturb your wound. You dressed it up in some left over bandages you found under the sink but you don’t think it really did you much justice.
But the shower felt nice. Because for a few minutes, you forgot all about Frank and what he said to you and just basked in the warm water washing away all the dirt and gravel and guilt on your body.
When you exited the bathroom, you were glad to see that Frank had not yet entered the bedroom. He would have still been helping David de-organise the van and all of their equipment. And now he was probably cleaning his guns and knives to buy himself some more time away from you. That would make sense.
So, you do him a big fat favour and go to bed. That way, you’re asleep and unresponsive and thus, don't have to engage in any further argument.
Since Frank sleeps on the side of the bed closest to the door, you turn on your side with your back facing it. It works out in your favour anyway because that way, your wound isn’t being pressed against or anything.
However, because you’re stubborn, you lightly place the blanket over your bandage to hide it from Frank.
The dim lamp on your bedside does little to illuminate the room, but does the job- whilst keeping it dark enough to allow you to close your eyes and slowly lull yourself to sleep.
You’re half asleep by the time you hear Frank enter the bedroom.
Surprisingly, he makes some effort to be quiet. He took his boots off at the door, then went to the bathroom to shower himself. He didn’t even slam any doors.
You then began to fall back asleep, but since Frank was never one for long showers- the max amount of time he would spend in a shower probably like 2 minutes- it wasn't long until your eyes were wincing opening again at the sound of Frank emerging from the bathroom.
His footsteps come to a halt by the bed, but he doesn't sit. Which confuses you for a moment, trying to wonder what it was he was doing.
Frank stared down at you with his brows knit together so hard you would’ve berated him for giving himself a permanent wrinkle in his forehead. His eyes were trained on your arm, the stupid lamp making him squint to see the white bandage wrapped around your arm.
He pulls the blanket down a little further, further than it already was slipping off your body and internally gasps at the sight of deep red blood slowly spilling out of it and onto the bandage.
A sting courses through your arm, followed closely by the compression of a large hand wrapping around it, “Ow-“ You open your arms, being forcibly pulled back for Frank to worriedly inspect your arm.
You watch over him nervously as he holds your arm a little more delicately now, unravelling the bandage. It stings a little as the bits of dried blood hang on to the bandage and tug on your skin as he takes out off.
“When did this happen?” He asks stupidly. Look, you would’ve been a little flattered that he was taking care of you right now, but his vibe was off as his face stared down at the wound in... disgust? Berating you for being so stupid?
“When do you think?” You reply, wincing as he continues to twist and pull on your arm. He purses his lips a little, then sighs before leaving the bedroom.
You’re left sitting on the bed, bloody bandage beside you and your stinging arm by your side. You feel the place where Frank’s hand once was, frowning uncontrollably as you reminisce on his warmth.
He comes back with the first aid kit in hand and your heart swoons at the fact that he does, in fact, want to help you.
He resumes his position on the bed, opening up the kit and gathering the required stuff. When you see him reach for the alcohol, you inhale a quick breath of fear, causing Frank to look up at you.
“It’ll be over soon,” He reassures, applying the antiseptic to a cotton pad.
You subconsciously fist the blanket pooled over your lap in preparation for the alcohol to come into contact with your skin. Frank holds your arm gently and presses the wipe to your cut.
“Fuck!” You cry, instinctively moving away from Franks touch but he keeps you in place.
“Sorry.” You exhale deeply as he removes the wipe, but your eyes widen as he grabs another wipe and places more of the liquid onto the cotton, “Just one last time,” He reassures, catching your dreaded glance. You can’t help the tears as the sting feels like it's coursing through your body. When Frank presses the second cotton to your skin, you can’t help the sob that leaves your lip and Frank winces at the sound, “I’m sorry, baby.”
For, there’s nothing Frank hates more than the sound of you crying. Especially when he’s the cause of it. He’s been the cause of it quite a few times, and he hates himself every time. Just like he does now.
He holds the cotton to the wound, and with his free hand, he wipes the tears from your face. You let him, which is a good sign in and of itself. You’re not as mad at him as you could be.
He discards the cotton pads into a pile on the bedside table before pulling out a proper role of bandage and gently wrapping it around your arm.
You remain silent, tears drying but still small sobs and sniffles every so often.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Frank asks as he clasps the bandage securely.
You avoid his gaze, mumbling as you shrug, “Didn’t think you’d want to help.”
Frank sighs to himself then, processing your words.
God, he was an ass. He was such a fucking dick to you that you thought he wouldn’t care that you’re practically bleeding out and possibly would have needed an amputation if it was any worse... Maybe that was dramatic but it wasn’t not possible!
Frank tentatively interlocks his hand with yours, waiting for you to pull back and slap him across the face, but you don’t, “No matter how… angry I am at you, I always want you to be okay.” He starts and you chew on your bottom lip softly as you take in his words, “You’re still my girl, it’s my job to keep you safe.” He brings a hand up to wipe away the last remaining tear, before pulling your head against his chest and kissing into your hair, “I’m sorry I yelled.”
You look up at him from your position against his warm, firm chest, observing the sincerity on his face and in his apology, “Sorry I ruined the mission.”
He shakes his head without a moment's hesitation, “It’s fine, I shot him anyway. That’s all that matters.” He shrugs and you nod.
Squeezing his hand, you purse your lips as you continue to look up at him, debating with yourself whether you should ask the question or not, “So, do you still not want me to come with you anymore?”
He huffs, smiling softly as he holds you closer, “You can come.” He nods, and you mirror his smile, “But I’ll be on your ass until you make your next kill.”

That night was cloudless and quiet at first.
The sky was so clear, you could see just about every crater of the moon and the stars that were sprinkled behind it sparkled like diamonds under fluorescent lights. From far away, you could hear the occasional dog barking that cut through the silence and you could see the dark shadows of the autumn foliage swaying in the gentle winds.
The musky sweet fragrance of fallen leaves danced across your nose while the cool breeze enveloped you as you walked down the street…alone.
He told you he hated when you walked alone…anywhere…any time of day. Billy didn’t like it if you went anywhere by yourself.
“You worry too much, baby. I’ll be fine.” You had said with a warm smile.
Famous last words.
When you came to, your head hurt and your body was resting on a metal floor, the empty space was completely dark, without windows, and every noise you made echoed throughout the room. It sounded like you were inside of a shipping container.
You weren’t bound or restrained in any way but you were scared and convinced that this had something to do with a deal that your father didn’t want to make involving the company he worked for.
Pratt and Whitney built aircraft engines and while your father didn’t own the company, he was responsible for bringing deals to the table. They build engines for civil aviation and military aviation and when your father declined a business offer, it was for a good reason.
Not too long ago, he had told you about a man coming to see him that wanted to do business and would not take no for an answer and you were convinced that it was someone involved with this man that was holding you captive.
But you didn’t know how far they were willing to go, to get what they wanted.
**********
He let out a yell that could probably be heard by people outside the building on the streets below.
His office was completely destroyed.
Fragments of shattered glass decorated the floor, his laptop landed upside down in the corner of the room, the cracked mirror and the broken picture frames were also casualties of the war zone inside Billy’s office. With his gun in one hand and your picture in the other, he stared down at your smiling face trying to figure out what his next move was going to be.
He needed to find you and was ready to burn the world down if it meant he could find you faster. Billy finally found love, someone who loved him but didn’t put up with his shit, someone that put him in his place when it was necessary, and someone that told him it was ok to let go. You said you would never leave, never abandon him, and he trusted you.
But you were gone, taken someplace that he had no idea where. He wasn’t going to rest until you were found, until HE found you. Billy needed you to be safe in his arms where you belonged and he wasn’t going to let anyone take you away from him.
Still holding the frame with your picture in it, he smashed the glass and removed it to put in his jacket pocket. Billy holstered his weapon and headed for the office door where he was cut off on the other side by Frank.
“Outta my way, Frankie. Now.” He said, rage dripping from his lips.
Frank held up a hand to try and stop him from leaving.
“She’s high profile, Bill. The FBI said they were handling it.” Frank said.
“Oh come on, Frankie! Those corrupt assholes couldn’t find their way out of a wet paper bag let alone find her! I should have been more insistent that she not walk alone and I’m gonna kill every single one of them, Frank. Every…single…one.” Said Billy.
The icy tone to his voice and his mouth twisted with threat let Frank know that Billy was serious. He didn’t care who he had to kill, he was going to find you and leave a trail of bodies behind him while he did it.
“I can’t stop you, can I Bill.” Frank said.
Billy’s eyes darkened and his lips curled back to reveal clenched teeth.
“You know me, Frankie. You think anyone’s gonna be able to stop me? Especially when it comes to her?” Growled Billy.
Frank looked into Billy’s eyes, they shined with unshed tears as he grabbed him by the shoulder.
“Well let’s go get her then, yeah?” Frank said with one side of his mouth curled up into a half smile. “You have a place to start?”
“Her father had a business card from the guy that came to his office wanting to make a deal, willing to pay cash, classic red flag. The card had an address on it. He said it sounded like the same guy demanding the engines in exchange for y/n.” Billy said.
Frank scoffed. “Pfft, not too bright is he. Well I think Lieberman can get her last known location before her phone went dead, so I’ll go to David’s and you go to that address, yeah?”
“Yeah, lemme know what you find out.” Billy said.
**********
They finally had enough of listening to you bang on the walls and call out for help. It took awhile but the doors opened, the early morning sun peeked through the crack in the door, they came inside and tied your arms and legs. They put a piece of tape over your mouth as well so they wouldn’t have to listen to you anymore.
The harder your struggled to free yourself, the tighter the ropes had become and you didn’t want to expel all of your energy. What did they want?
And why did they want aircraft engines? While he had more than enough money for the engines, he was a civilian and civilians don’t require large engines like that and your father could see right through that so he told them no.
They had also taken your watch.
It was completely dark inside the shipping container so you wouldn’t be able to see the time no matter how hard you tried but they took it from you anyway. It was the watch Billy had given you for Christmas last year, the one that he had engraved “Until the end of time. Love, Billy.”
You managed a slight smile with the tape over your mouth thinking about what he said when he gave it to you. When you looked at the engraving, he said, “It was between this and ‘nice butt’,” which caused you to burst out laughing.
You loved him so much.
There weren’t many things in this world that frightened you but you were very scared that you would never get to see Billy’s face again. It terrified you to think you would never get to look into his endless brown eyes again, lovingly scrape your nails against his scalp, or tell him that you loved him and to hear him say it back.
You needed to be in his arms again, to have his body be a warm cradle for yours, and for his soft lips to kiss you goodnight before you fall asleep.
You wanted it all back, you wanted him…forever. And he needed to know that.
**********
When he wanted to be, Billy could be very quiet. He was so light on his feet, sometimes you had no idea he was even in the same room until you turned around to see his handsome face smiling at you, then laughing because he scared you.
That skill came in handy when it was needed. When he arrived at the address on the business card, he didn’t know what to expect so he drew his weapon and went inside the building.
Slinking down hallways and creeping around corners, he checked the building from top to bottom and found everything he expected to find…which was nothing.
The building was empty.
At some point it had been occupied but looking around him, there hasn’t been any activity inside of the building in a long time. It was just an address. But who owned the building?
He needed to get back, tell Frank what he found, and to see if David had any luck finding the last location of your phone.
**********
You heard men arguing outside but you could only make out bits and pieces of the conversation.
“He said he wanted her moved.” One of them said.
Then you heard a different voice. “Well where are we going to move her?”
You heard the first voice again. “He doesn’t care where, just move her. She probably has to go to the bathroom anyway.”
That voice sounded familiar…”He doesn’t care where…”
It was killing you not knowing who “HE” was. Who could it be? And that voice, where have you heard that voice before?
Also, how considerate of them, you thought sarcastically to yourself…you hadn’t had anything to drink in hours so you didn’t really have to go. You didn’t even know how long you had been locked inside.
More talking…
“I cannot believe you didn’t get rid of her phone until you brought her here. Her boyfriend owns the best private security company in the city. You better hope they don’t track her phone or I’ll kill you myself.”
Before they tied you up, you had removed your jacket and tossed it into the corner. If they planned on moving you, hopefully they would be dumb enough to leave your jacket where it is so Billy could find it.
You felt it in your heart that he was out looking for you and when he does find you, he was never going to let you walk alone again.
**********
“The name, Bill. What was the name on the business card?” Frank asked.
Billy pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes, concentrating really hard trying to remember the name your father told him was on the card.
“Wesley…James Wesley.” Said Billy. “Y/n’s father also said that they don’t want money, they want those engines. And why does that name sound so familiar, Frankie?”
Frank pressed his lips together in a straight line then hung his head before glancing at Billy again.
“Because he works for HIM, Bill. He works for Wilson Fisk…Kingpin.” Frank said softly.
Billy ran his long fingers through his ebony colored hair, hell burned behind his dark doll like eyes, and he had the acid burn of bitterness in his throat as he said, “Well then he’ll be the final body on top of the pile. She has nothing to do with this and he took her from me, Frankie and he’s gonna pay for it. They’re all gonna pay, so please tell me David found where her phone was last.”
He stared at Frank while putting his gear on and removed the picture of you from his suit jacket pocket to stash it behind his vest. Billy was ready to take out anyone who got in his way including the authorities.
“He did…down by the water where the cargo ships come in. Might be holding her in one of those shipping containers…told ya they’re not too bright. And you know I’m comin’ with you, yeah?” Said Frank.
Billy shook his head furiously.
“No, no, no, I can’t ask you to do that. You have a family, Frankie. I can’t let you risk yourself for me.” Billy said.
“And you’re part of that family, Bill so you’re not goin’ by yourself. Gimme some of that untraceable Russian ammo that I know you have and let’s go bring her home.” Frank said with a slight smirk.
“I love her, Frankie.” Billy said with a slight hitch in his voice.
“Well, let’s go so you can tell her instead of me.”
**********
They arrived at the pier under the cover of the clouded night sky. The ethereal glow of the moon peeked out briefly from behind the clouds before completely disappearing on the other side of the fluffy clouds.
The steady wind picked up a little faster down by the water as they stealthily moved through the cargo yard when they came upon a chair that had been turned over and the rocks underneath their feet had been disturbed. It looked like someone had been dragged from one of the containers, close to where the chairs were turned over.
“The door’s open, Bill…go check inside.” Frank whispered.
With his flashlight on, Billy stepped inside. You weren’t there but in the back corner, he saw some kind of black fabric rolled into a ball. It looked like it was hastily thrown there. When he picked it up, it unfolded and he recognized it immediately. Smiling slightly to himself, Billy knew you had left it for him to find.
“I’m coming, sweet girl.” He whispered to himself.
Frank stuck his head inside. “Russo, you find anything?” He asked.
Billy held out your jacket so Frank could see it. “She left it for me, Frankie.”
“The drag marks go that way.” Frank pointed in the direction they were already headed toward. “They probably didn’t move her too far…maybe in one of those buildings across the way.”
They suddenly heard some rocks shuffle along the ground, Billy and Frank turned and fired in the direction of the noises hitting two men right between the eyes. Billy didn’t even blink, he just continued walking, not bothered at all, and was careful not to leave any evidence behind.
Carnage was the only thing Billy left behind and Fisk was smart enough to scatter his men throughout the shipyard so Billy and Frank would have to check every building.
He prowled like a jungle cat, slitting their throats with his hidden blade, one right after the other, not looking back and moving on even before the body hit the ground.
Billy’s expression was blank, completely zoned out and he would not come back to reality until you were safe. Even Frank had a hard time getting through to him.
As he got closer to another building, Billy heard voices. He heard a woman’s voice, your voice. He listened intently as you spoke.
“What do you want the engines for, Mr. Wesley? You know my father is only responsible for bringing deals to the table and he’s not in charge of making deals himself, right?” You said with a sinister smile stretched across your lips.
“My employer knows that yes, Ms. Y/l/n. But we’ve tied his hands and yours.” He said with an evil smirk. “The man I work for wants to build his own planes for his spice import/export business.”
“Well if that doesn’t sound shady as fuck, I don’t know what does. You are even dumber than you look, Mr. Wesley.” You said. “Pratt and Whitney isn’t going to sell engines like that to a civilian. My father doesn’t care how much money you throw at them.”
The door opened and you heard a deep shaky voice coming from around the corner. “I think your father will do whatever it takes to get you back.”
Wilson Fisk came into view. He walked around the table and stood next to Wesley who was sitting across from you at a long table.
“Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Fisk but I know my father isn’t going to give you what you want and I know that you’re not going to kill me because if I’m dead, you have no other bargaining chips.” You said.
Fisk gave you an evil smile. “You know who I am.”
“Of course I know who you are.”
**********
Outside were a couple of large SUV’s and they had some of Fisk’s men inside which Billy and Frank took care of, almost a little too easily. But Fisk didn’t know what kind of marines he was dealing with. They were trained to be silent, anticipate moves by the enemy, and to kill with zero hesitation.
Billy was covered in blood, his black clothing had a bright red sheen to it when the dim lights from overhead shined down on to it, and the front of his vest was slick with all of their blood. He acted like it wasn’t even there, like it was just a part of his gear, and if Billy had the time, he would have tortured and tormented all of them.
He would have done it slowly and with precision, to make them feel as much pain as possible for what they had done. They were just doing what they were ordered to do but that didn’t matter to Billy.
You always have a choice in life and they chose to do this, they chose to work for HIM. They took you away from him and now they had paid the price…all of them.
Frank and Billy left no survivors, they didn’t let any of them go, not even one to warn Fisk they were coming for him. They were left to bleed out on to the gravel beneath them, the tiny pebbles were painted red with their blood as it pooled under their throats where they fell.
Billy would make sure the last two would never leave the shipyard alive.
**********
“That’s it. Keep them talkin’, sweet girl.” Billy said in barely more than a whisper.
Close to Billy’s ear, Frank said, “She has a smart mouth, Bill. I can see why you love her so much.”
Fisk started to speak again.
“You think your boyfriend is out looking for you? Hmmm?” He said.
You touched your tongue to your teeth and gave him a sinister grin. “I know what you want me to say, Mr. Fisk. But you’re not gonna get it. What I am gonna tell you is that my guess is you kidnapping me is high profile to the FBI and as soon as they find their way out of that wet paper bag they seem to be stuck in, they’ll be searching for me. Sending Mr. Wesley in to talk to my father was just dumb on your part. You didn’t even try to make it sound legit.” You said with a laugh.
Frank chuckled. “You two really are made for each other.”
You could tell Wilson Fisk was starting to get angry.
“I have people all over this shipyard! I doubt they can’t handle ONE marine!” He yelled across the table.
“I’m sure Billy is waiting patiently for that phone call to come in to tell him that I have been found unharmed.” You said in a sarcastic and teasing tone. “He would never EVER get in the way of authority figures.”
Fisk made a motion like he was going to walk over and strike you when a figure dressed in all black shattered the flimsy glass by diving through the window.
Before Wesley could pull out his gun, the figure moved in front of you and pushed you away from the table when two shots came from the window. One bullet went into Wesley’s head, the other into Fisk’s chest and he collapsed onto the ground.
Clutching his chest, Fisk looked up at the figure who just shot him and they pulled the hood up away from their face.
It was Billy.
“I wanted you to see my face as I watch the life drain from yours.” Billy growled.
Coughing up blood, Fisk managed to ask, “H-how?”
Billy flashed that perfect smile of his but he had an evil twist behind it. He ejected the blade from his wrist and inched closer to Fisk’s face before opening his throat and twisting the blade so the wound wouldn’t close.
“How?” Billy asked. “You took what is most precious to me in this world, you took what was MINE. And you fucked with the wrong marines.” He hissed.
Billy removed the blade from Fisk’s neck and watched as his blood pooled on the floor underneath him and the light faded from his eyes.
Frank lifted his mask.
“You ok, sweetheart?” He asked, trying to catch his breath.
“You came for me too, Frank?” You asked.
“Of course I did. I wasn’t gonna let Bill do this by himself.” He said, cutting your hands loose. “I tell ya what, kid. I’m surprised he didn’t try and hit you before I jumped through the window, you have a mouth on you.” He said with a smirk.
Billy rushed to your side and fell to his knees. “You alright, sweet girl?!” He pulled you into a tight embrace, so tight that it made it hard to breathe and kissed the top of your head.
“I’m ok, Billy. Really, I am. Only slightly traumatized, I think.” You said with a warm smile.
Billy’s lips collided with yours, his long slender fingers tangled in your hair as he planted kisses all over your forehead and your cheeks before wrapping his fingers around your throat like a necklace and softly kissing your lips again.
“I love you…so much.” He said, his onyx colored eyes gazed at you like he hasn’t seen you in a week.
Tears pricked the back of your eyes and one streaked down your cheek before he brushed it away with his thumb. “I love you too, Billy.”
“I hate to break this up, but we gotta get outta here.” Said Frank.
On the way back, Frank and Billy told you exactly what to say when you walk into the police station. Billy held you close in the back seat while Frank drove, his heart was racing, and you felt the gentle rise and fall of his chest against the side of your face.
He came for you and killed everyone that got in his way, including the Kingpin of New York City. The rage in his eyes died down and the tension in his body relaxed as soon as he held you in his arms again. You were back with him, where you belonged, and if he had to, he would do it all again without hesitation.
Billy valued your life more than he valued his own, he loved you more than anything, and he would take on the entire city if it meant you would stay safe.
He flashed that perfect smile at you after he kissed you goodbye. You weren’t even gone for very long but you missed that smile and wondered if you were ever going to see it again.
“I’ll be back to get you and you’re never walking by yourself ever again.” He said with a wink.
No one has ever shown you the kind of love Billy has and he’s never known love by anyone which is why you always made it a point to tell him every day how much you loved him, how you felt safe with him, and how you would never abandon him like so many others had done before.
His chin rested on top of your head in the back of the car, as his fingers danced up and down your arm, soothing you and telling you he’d never let anyone hurt you again.
You didn’t want to but you had to tell him.
“Billy?”
“Yeah baby?” He answered.
“They took my watch…the one you gave me for Christmas.” You had said.
Billy kissed the top of your head. “I’ll get you a new one, my love.”
You leaned back to look up at him through your long dark lashes and pulled him in close to your face and gently kissed him.
“Until the end of time, Billy?” You whispered.
He just smiled his million dollar smile at you and replied, “Until the end of time, sweet girl.”
Before going inside the station, you paused on the sidewalk and looked up at the sky, painted black and navy with the moon cast behind the clouds. Tears welled up in your eyes because just a few hours ago, you weren’t certain you would ever see the sky again and you were incredibly thankful to be alive.
You weren’t sure the sun would ever kiss the high points of your face again or see the person you loved most that would rather watch the world burn than live without you in it.
Under the pale moonlight, you closed your eyes, and inhaled sharply. The lingering smell of salt from the shipyard still fresh as you took a deep breath in through your nose and then exhaling, watching your warm breath meet the crisp autumn air outside.
You took in the familiar city scents that you never wanted to take for granted again, fresh coffee, warm toasted almonds, and pizza slices hot from the oven. The sounds of broken bottles hitting the sidewalk, car alarms, and ambulance sirens were all music to your ears.
You were alive because he fought for you…and won.
Stepping inside the police station, you saw uniforms everywhere, they were carrying papers, rushing past you, and not giving you a second look before one stopped, looked at your disheveled appearance, and asked, “Are you alright miss?”
You stood up straight, nodded, and replied.
“Yes…I’d like to report a kidnapping. And a bunch of dead bodies.”
