Thinking about starting a subreddit for people who want to find furniture, sports equipment, etc (anything but clothes) for people who are fat or tall or otherwise don't fit standard dimensions.
Basically 'consumer reports for people who are more than 250lbs and/or 6ft tall'
Reasons why subreddit:
allows people to post their own questions
allows for reasonable moderation already
gives pretty good SEO out of the gate
allows for tagging so people can filter posts
has decent search engine built in
allows for NSFW/18+ content with tags so questions about sex toys, etc can be asked
Rules I'm already thinking of:
Recommendations and questions both allowed, but no self-promotion on individual posts or maybe on one day a month or something (keeps down the spammers!)
Related: no surveys/market research
No diet talk at all
No judgement (about things that are usually disability related but get shamed, like 'best way to put on my socks when I have trouble bending over')
This is generally for goods, not services, so no asking about therapists, doctors, etc.
This is not a complaint forum, but you can post your personal negative experiences as an anti-recommendation on a question. (What I don't want: a post that's just 'I hate this company because of a single bad experience!' What I would be OK with: a post about yoga equipment where someone shares that their foam blocks from X company collapsed after a few uses)
Anyone else on Reddit interested in helping? Is this something that already exists elsewhere I can just join?

My latest review for @diaandco for @mysubscriptionaddiction is here: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2022/08/dia-co-plus-size-july-2022-review.html This month has so many amazing pieces that I had a blast styling! This dress is so dang dreamy! I had to wear my Juno Birch hotdog earrings from @glossandshimmer --- matches the vibe perfectly! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. As always I appreciate any reposts & comments (please leave comments directly on the review itself 😁👍)! I tend to respond to comments on my reviews in a prompt fashion too. Repost of what I wore Friday because this look just screams First Day of Spring 🌻🌻 It doesn't feel like Spring (50s today) but I am still celebrating the fact that today is the 1st day of Spring and celebrate! #happyfirstdayofspring #firstdayofspring #springvibes #southernista #fatshionista (at Durham, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqBLgK1Luhg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A short, but very voluptuous figure breaches out of the water of the base and starts striding about, looking for the first person that won't cower from her intense gaze
Tumblr media
"Oohh~ A glare like that is certainly going to keep the shy ones away." the mouthy fatshionista said with a chuckle, loud enough for the striding/prowling creature to hear.
Kashima herself, lardy and soft looking in her stylish summer-dress and filling up her wheelchair under the shake of a nearby umbrella, pitched just off the sandy shore. While there was other shipgirl away, these were the ones that still worked and tended to be unafflicted by the antics of the more known and lardy sorts. The faceless sorts who droned on and kept this place typically military.
Kashima certainly stood out though. Or... well... sat out.
"Kashima likes it though! You're a nonsense sorta girly, huh?~"

Did Rarity empty a truck full of soda that was driving by town?
To answer you question, the mound of marshmallow unleashed a minute long quaking belch that shatters windows and crack foundations, deafening the local area in the aftermath for a few seconds after it passes. It echoes out beyond to towns beyond her own before the fatshionista giggled.
"Excuse moi~"

A huffy wheeze escapes Kirigiri's bloated jowls. For once she's had enough of Junko pointing out her recent... small and temporary weight gain. As if junko herself hadn't ballooned past the point where she outweighed their classmates.
"Well... huff... haaa.... atleast... nnghhh ..I... am still the ultimate detective... while you wouldn't fit on any magazine... huuu... haaaa... "Fashionista"."
Tumblr media
Seeing Kyoko pout over her light teasing brought a twisted version of glee to fashionista, especially with how ignorant Kirigiri-san's rebuttal was.
"You really.. haah... th-hooh-think that at your.. mmmph... your size you're still an aceh detective? At least... nnghhh... I still get gigs wiuuUURRRP!.. with plus-shized agencies!~"
With her blubbery sausage fingers Ms. Enoshima (barely) lifts up a magazine of the week, shoving it into the doughtective's face. In all her glorious curves and crevices there she was, the fatshionista splayed out all over the cover in some skimpy attire, as if to mock Kyoko even some more.
"Were you too.. huff... busy stuffing your fat.. haaa... face in to realize I'm a fuuuUURRP-cking trendsetter?!"

While it’s still #disabilitypridemonth, I wanted to talk about what being disabled looks like for me. I don’t ‘look disabled’ in the photos and videos I post here. If you saw me IRL, you might be able to tell there’s something wrong with my spine because of my skewed walk. If you caught me on a bad pain day, you’d definitely be able to tell because every single movement will make me wince. But none of that is visible in the content I create.
Chronic pain is a funny old thing. Through my photos, I try and capture the beauty I see all around me and the solace I find in it. What you don’t see is the amount of pain I’m in in each and every one of these images. Because that’s what my life is. I’m never not in pain, it punctuates every action, every movement, it’s the constant white noise in the background of my waking hours whose ebb and flow dictates every last thing I can do on a given day. Whether I’m smiling, happy, elated, content, at peace, I’m still in pain. In every single photo or video you see of me here, I’m in pain. I’ve come to accept it as an indelible fact of life that if I’m awake, I’ll be in pain.
So on Disability Pride Month, I want to reiterate that disability isn’t always visible to the naked eye. And I’m not even going into learning disabilities, chronic severe mental illness, and neurodivergence here (it took me till my late 30s to finally contest the BPD/bipolar diagnosis that I’ve been living with all my adult life and with the help of my therapist I’m finally on the waiting list to be assessed for both ADHD and autism. As it turns out, there’s reams of evidence to support both diagnoses which was ignored by multiple psychiatrists through my teens and twenties thanks to my gender and my ‘troubled’ childhood, but I digress.)
There are millions of people living with invisible disabilities like mine, navigating a world designed for abled people and being challenged when we dare to speak up about it because we ‘don’t look disabled’. Sometimes my disability looks like running through a meadow in a summery dress, at other times it looks like being stretched out on the sofa in yesterday’s clothes, stuffed with painkillers and clutching my heating pad for life. One of those two images fits the narrative of what a disabled person should look like, but both of them are me. It’s past time abled people let go of these reductive narratives about disability and learn to see us as complex, complete people too.
