I got my hands on a KakaGai doujinshi by none other than Ono Natsume 💖 A quick redraw because her tiny Kakashi and Gai are so precious...

okay look I know I've talked about this at length already but I've seen a ton of people talk about how they don't like whiskey peak and how they think it wasn't necessary for zoro and luffy to fight like that or straight up think it was ooc of them, but then the same people will turn around and go "isn't it fascinating how zoro's the only one who can say no to luffy or nearly order him around or that luffy waits for the opinion of before acting for no apparent reason it must be because they are soulmates" and honestly for real I'm the first to subscribe to the zoro and luffy soulmates thought but the reason why zoro can do all that is whiskey peak. that is the moment zoro took a decision that benefited the whole crew without asking luffy first for the first time, and that is the moment luffy unjustly doubted him without implicitly trusting his judgement, and that is the moment luffy learned that actually sometimes zoro sees what's best for the crew before he does and that trusting him to always act with the crew's best interests in mind is something he should do. zoro had never opposed luffy or acted without his consent in any way before whiskey peak and luffy never doubts him and always turns to him ever since, there is direct correlation between the two zoro and luffy didn't learn to trust each other and respect each other through a magical soulbond connection their relationship is actually pretty damn well developed

I hope. I hope for both their sakes that Kanon realises what she just said and why it caused Saki to act like that.
Likewise I hope this causes Saki to interrogate her feelings more in depth and confront them.
However, this is Kuzushiro so I doubt that it will be easy for either of them.

Forgive me if I come off as condescending, I feel like I write that way accidentally sometimes, but considering all I’ve heard regarding Chainsaw Man, how do we know it was written with good intentions? I can’t help but think about anime/manga like Attack on Titan that got massively popular but the author has directly promoted fascism. Not saying CSM has the same issues, but how can people feel confident enough that the sexualization in the story isn’t being used exploitatively? It’s okay if this feels like a loaded question and you’d rather pass on it, I just see you and others post about the series a lot and based on what I’ve heard it seems like something you all traditionally wouldn’t like.
Bro idk I just think Quanxi is hot

One reason I watched a lot less anime this year than I've used to, is that I've been reading manga instead (and I was away from home for a significant part of the year, and I've been gaming instead, and I have less patience for shows that don't interest me enough).
I've been wanting to read more, so I'm very pleased that I did that this year. I also wanted to read more yuri, which I did. I had many reasons for it, and one of the major ones was that I wanted to see how varied the genre is and can be, which I think I succeeded in.
From yuri I got into reading a bunch of josei works as well, which is a demographic that unsurprisingly fits me perfectly. I'm happy to have read a lot of amazing stories and authors, and to have a long list of their other works or other authors to check out in 2024. My newfound favourites were Kyoko Okazaki, Moyoco Anno and Kaoru Fujiwara.
Of course I read good non-josei works as well. Although I enjoyed Shimanami Tasogare, it wasn't until Hiraeth wa Tabiji no Hate that Yuhki Kamatani truly got me, and I now want to go through their other works as well. This was also the year I began reading Shuuzou Oshimi, and now I see why his works gets the praise they do. I'll definitely continue reading through his catalogue.
Besides reading more yuri, josei and the authors I mentioned above, I'd like to spend next year reading through older shoujo works and continue with my longtime project of reading all of CLAMP's works, but we'll see where the year takes me!
Thanks to those who posted, shared and talked to me about manga this year, I got so much inspiration and recommendations from you all <3

How'd you come up with that url ?
You know that post about how someone chalked upt being a TJLC believer to breathing in the black mold in the vents of their apartment? And also how Madara started believing, at some point, that the world's problems could be fixed by the moon? It's kind of like that. Except his black mold is Zetsu.

To my moots who haven't seen Hunter x Hunter
Please do, it's wonderful, gut wrenching and the two hunters are indeed in love. Plus the most powerful character canonically is a 12 year old trans girl.
Also this character is very important but the 2011 failed to show this properly
They introduced the protagonist to this whole hunter stuff and saved his life (they appear in the first chapter and first episode of 1999 adaptation, in 2011 anime they don't appear till episode 75, which is way too late)
