2 x 1966 Fender Musicmaster II.

Believe it or not these two started out the same colour! Now, 58 years after leaving Fullerton, one is minty and one is beaten, crazed, chipped, dented, and yellowed (from, I am guessing, exposure to a LOT of cigarette smoke).

They are twins in the same way that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito were Twins. Same genetic source materials, but vastly differently lives led! Nurture rather than Nature...

So does anyone else think that Seventeen Going Under by Sam Fender is EXTREMELY Jacob Frye coded?

-Like specifically his older self. He’s either talking to his younger self or specifically his son. As in Jacob’s son is doing dumb shit and he wants to make sure his kid doesn’t do the same mistakes he did

-I really want to emphasize the line:

“I was far too scared to hit him

But I would hit him in a heartbeat now

That's the thing with anger

It begs to stick around”

-like this could obviously be about his dad or Maxwell Roth. He’s angry at both of them for different reasons, but he eventually acknowledges that holding onto that anger isn’t healthy but he’s still gonna struggle with it

-so obviously he wants to teach his son that holding onto anger isn’t gonna help at what he’s angry with

-also I want to point out this entire verse:

-it’s probably safe to assume that Jacob was a complete little shit as a teen. He is furious at his father for effectively forcing him into “holding up a legacy”. So goofing off becomes a coping mechanism basically

-the line “a mirrored picture of my old man, oh god, the kid’s a dab hand. Canny chanter, but he looks sad” hits a lot harder if you assume that Jacob is a dead-ringer for his father. No matter how hard he tries, he’ll always be reminded of his father’s face, every time he looks in the mirror, especially as he gets older

-basically what I’m trying to say is that this song is Jacob reflecting on his past, mainly his mistakes. He knew how much pain and grief he caused himself and his loved ones. So when he sees his son starting down a similar path, Jacob wants to save him from suffering the same kind of pain
