Timeline: Part 7 - October 2017
For earlier timeline posts: click here or here.
There are three installments of the "Meghan's PR Timeline" today, which will see us finish out 2017: October 2017, November 2017, and December 2017.
One particularly interesting observation about this period of time is that from mid-October to mid-November, there are actually whole days without a single item or piece about Meghan. It's very strange because from about the end of April 2017 to the end of September 2017, we were being bombarded DAILY by stories about Meghan.
Is the missing coverage because those pages, stories, and articles were scrubbed in 2018/2019 when Meghan's PR was cleaning up her image?
Did Meghan finally get the ring in early October and no longer needed her PR to pressure Harry and force him to propose?
Or is it the quiet before the storm (i.e., the engagement announcement)? Meghan decided to drop coverage to get more bang when the engagement was announced?
10/1/2017: Toronto Invictus Games Closing Ceremony. Meghan, Doria, Jess, and Markus arrive early and are in a box. Meghan arrives first and is caught directing photographers where to go and what angles to use. Harry arrives later. Meghan leaks that Harry and Doria met at the closing ceremony and they get along fabulously.
(For additional context timeline-wise: 10/1/17 is the Route 19 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas)
10/2/2017: Harry returns to London via Heathrow Airport and it's listed in the Court Circular. Meghan teases an engagement to E News and says that her friends have become Harry's family.
10/3/2017: Meghan merches her shoes from a September 2017 papwalk. She also tells Elle Magazine that she and Harry are unofficially engaged, and everyone knows.
10/4/2017: Meghan modernizes the monarchy if she marries Harry. Charles is in Malta.
10/5/2017: Ronan Farrow's Weinstein expose is published by The New York Times. Meghan merches her Invictus Games clothing - Opening Ceremony Outfit, Closing Ceremony Coat.
10/6/2017: Carole Middleton and Doria Ragland are the same.
10/7/2017: Charles's letter to Tony Blair about the hunting ban is published.
October 7th is the first day with no Meghan stories or Harkle coverage since early summer.
10/8/2017: Meghan has moved to London and is being driven by a royal chauffeur.
10/9/2017: Harry's ex Cressida makes the news for being connected to Harvey Weinstein. Jess Mulroney sources an "all about Meghan's bestie, Jess" story.
10/10/2017: Meghan's PR takes a dig at William and Kate, asking why they never hold hands. Kate makes her first public appearance since announcing her third pregnancy, implying that she is on the mend from HG.
10/11/2017: Meghan's 2011 film, Dysfunctional Friends, resurfaces. Her character is a photographer for male underwear models. Meghan tries to be a fashion influencer, gets linked to Julia Roberts, Naomi Watts, and Greta Lee as a major "power dresser". She also merches the nail polish she might wear for the wedding and/or the engagement announcement.
Meanwhile, Harry attends the 100 Women in Finance Gala Dinner. Kate's aide, Rebecca Deacon, receives the Royal Victorian Order. Buckingham Palace announces that Charles will lay wreaths at the Cenotaph for The Queen during the Remembrance Sunday service, and The Queen returns to London, ending her summer Balmoral haloriday.
10/12/2017: The Queen's first day back in London/work following summer holidays. Harry has #1 sexiest celebrity beard. (No, they're not talking about Meghan. They mean the actual hair on his face.)
10/13/2017: Meghan and Harry leak that they're house-hunting in the Cotswolds for a marital home and merch a few properties in the Daily Mail. Meghan also teases wedding speculation and Soho Farmhouse's newest financial report reveals that they lost $34.48 million in 2017 (hence the Harkle sponcon throughout 2018)
10/14/2017: Royals living in the US - forgotten Spencer cousins who call the American Pacific Northwest home.
10/15/2017: Meghan confirms that she is finished with Suits when Season 7 wraps in November. #MeToo movement begins and James Middleton, Donna Air split is revealed.
10/16/2017: Meghan leaks that she and Harry are already engaged but won't announce it until Suits filming has ended. Harry attends the WellChild Awards. Also, Harry tells people that he doesn't want a formal pageanty Cambridge-like wedding.
Meanwhile, Harry accompanies William and Kate to an engagement celebrating the release of Paddington 2.
10/17/2017: No new Meghan or Harkle stories, but Eugenie is papped in Los Angeles; William and Kate announce the baby is due in April; and Camilla gives a landmark speech on osteoporosis.
10/18/2017: Meghan leaks to the Daily Mail that she and Harry had tea with The Queen at Buckingham Palace on October 12th, and it's the first time Meghan met Her Majesty.
Note: This version of events contradicting Harry's claim in Spare that Meghan met The Queen for the first time on Sunday at the Royal Lodge while visiting the Yorks. October 12th is a Wednesday.
10/19/2017: Meghan teases Harry's proposal plan.
10/20/2017: Meghan's copycatting of Diana's outfits and behavior finally gets noticed. Meghan hints about etiquette lessons and teases the engagement.
Samantha Markle sets up a gofundme to raise money for an accessible home as her MS progresses, capitalizing on Meghan's fame.
10/21/2017: No new Meghan or Harkle stories.
10/22/2017: No new Meghan or Harkle stories.
10/23/2017: Harry has an away day in Lancashire.
10/24/2017: Meghan makes a dig at Kate - why she never wears red nail polish.
10/25/2017: Meghan merches her voice (perhaps this is when she starts negotiating for a Disney documentary voiceover gig...).
10/26/2017: DailyMailTV discusses Meghan's ancestry. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan leak that:
Harry has had a crush on Meghan since 2015 when he saw her on Suits and he did tell friends back then that she was his ideal woman.
KP aides have been instructed to begin wedding planning and are reviewing dates.
The Cambridges announced Kate's pregnancy early because protocol requires the wedding can't take place until after the baby is born.
10/27/2017: Channel 4 broadcasts a "10 Things About Meghan Markle" documentary.
10/28/2017: Meghan and Harry are actually related! They're distant cousins.
10/29/2017: No new Meghan or Harkle stories.
10/30/2017: No new Meghan or Harkle stories.
10/31/2017: Harry is in Chicago to attend the Barack Obama Foundation Summit, and Charles and Camilla are in Singapore for royal tour.

With Delicate Elegance
With a delicate elegance
For sweet remembrance
The approach, of spring
Parading green rustling
Grasp of joy in a fistful
Distinctively blissful
The celebration in lent
Halted festivity relents
A fragrance of the wind
Wondrous spring will bind
Palms fanning a smiling sun
Honey bees busily on the run
Butterflies flapping their wings
Displaying the rainbow of spring
O romancing while the robins sing

To your beacon in the gloom. Interview with the Vampire. Lestat x Louis. NC-17. 13k words.
A year after Louis and Lestat reunite, they're still figuring it out. Daniel calls it out, Louis tries to move them forwards, and maybe they just fuck instead.
-
If Louis were to muse on it, which he does, despite himself, often, he’d say there was something carnal to the act of it. Something to harvesting your life, reaping your memories, threshing those moments of significance, of truth, of honesty from the thick crop of day-to-day mundanity, to pass on to a man who intends to make something of it. Off it. To take these things that have spent more than a lifetime growing in the fecund soil of you to cut, to cook, to plate up and serve for a ravenous public to devour.
Fruitage, preparation, consumption where Louis found himself both deft handed with Daniel, and deftly handled by him, a part of the art for once, instead of the purveyor of it, something neither Armand nor even Lestat had been able to give him. The businessman in him shed for the first time in what felt a millennia to leave only the man – brother, father, lover, vampire, and for a short while, simply human.
Which is all to say he perhaps should’ve expected it – Daniel’s newly assumed authority on the subject of his life. The space those two weeks in Dubai, those 15 sessions of remembrance and revelation created between the two (three? Four?) of them. An intimacy Louis finds to be both shallowly presumed and deeply, startlingly real.
“No,” Louis replies as the question Daniel has just floated into his head cuts across the music playing in the other room, closing the book in his lap. “There’s nothing left to bury but the memories of her, and I ain’t interested in doing that.”
“Don’t think of it as a funeral then, think of it as a memorial, hell, a vigil - - these things are ceremonial, they’re symbolic, and most importantly, they’re for the living.”
“I have my time with her,” Louis says, rising to slip the book – Robert Stalnaker’s seminal Mere Possibilities: Metaphysical Foundations of Modal Semantics – back to its place on the shelf in his newly renovated reading room, his interest already having waned.
Instead, he briefly wonders where Daniel is – still on tour for the book, that much he knows, a string of literary festivals across the South Pacific. He vaguely recalls mentions of Ubud and Auckland – but that thought passes too. Distance seems fleeting when they can close it now so simply after Armand’s petulant punishment.
“You know that. You’ve seen the room I’ve made for her and Paul here.”
“The difference, Louis, is a service is a place to share grief, not internalize it, and if you and Lestat are living together again - - ”
“We’re not,” Louis says quickly, too quickly, maybe, because Daniel somehow manages to scoff through the mind connection.
“You know I can hear both of your thoughts, right?”
Louis rolls his eyes, running a taloned finger along the spines that populate his bookshelf. No more philosophy tonight, he thinks. It’s trying his patience.
“So he comes over sometimes,” he says, plucking out a copy of Paul Beatty’s The Sellout, and turning it over to read the blurb.
“He’s playing a piano at your penthouse right now, and correct me if I’m wrong, Louis, but you never had the musical acumen, which means not only is he playing it, but one of you moved an 800 pound upright past a swarm of pissed off vampires, building security, and up 83 floors to put it there.”

The Kings Grand Entrance
Interlude from the horny side— I need a break, okay?
Tumblr media
C/W; Torture, Villain/Imposter!AU, Dark content, Bodily harm, character death, Creator being a menace (I based creator off Muzan-ish), Uppermoon 1,3 and lowermoon 5 (because I love them most), No beta we die like Makoto and Nameless bard
A/N; this feels all over the place, but hope you guys enjoyed it , if this doesn't make sense don't blame me, I haven't slept in 15 hours.
"Checkmate." Rui muttered, placing his hands atop his thighs. Pierro hummed, "Well played."
The two were engaging in chess, something that Creator requested to measure Rui's intelligence and strategic planning. The elder obliged and whenever he had time would lay out his chess board and indulge with the boy.
Meanwhile, inside the laboratory, Dottore watched in fascination as Creator distilled a purple liquid into a beaker, one that the second presumed to be Wisteria poison.
"The flower has been extracted to its maximum ability, now its poisonous properties are capable of damaging one from the molecular level twenty minutes after ingesting it." You explained to the Doctor. Wisteria was abundant thanks to your artificial ceiling garden inside of your lab, allowing you to create the strong poison.
Dottore gently poured the poison into a glass container, it having a label of a sugary syrup brand to disprove any suspicion about its content.
"Tartaglia has infiltrated the impostors base, which ironically enough was a very large temple in the outskirts of Liyue that Zhongli had built. Since Zhongli wanted a part in this, I trust that man to persuade the impostor into drinking a special brew of tea. I asked him to create an alibi should they question his disappearance."
You didn't like to work with an Archon but what do you have to lose anyway? Though, if he did end up betraying you again, you'll willingly decay that man until there's nothing left of him.
Rui thanked Pierro for his time, and went out to the training grounds where he saw Capitano training the soldiers with an iron fist. He walked over towards two individuals who stood significantly taller than him.
"Hello, Kokushibo. Akaza." The child greeted, looking up to the two men who nodded at his greeting.
"Master informed you about our plan?" Akaza asked the boy who let out a few threads for him to sit on. "Yes. Those fools will be shown no mercy by Master." Rui responded. Kokushibo closed his six eyes for a moment, leaning against a tree overlooking the exhausted soldiers.
"They're all weak. The three of us will handle it easily, no need for worthless fodder." The burgundy haired man commented with Akaza agreeing.
"Still. At the very least, they'll die thinking they helped." Rui sighed in dissatisfaction.
—————
A few days later, a festival was thrown in remembrance of Creators birthday. Festivities were thrown, many alcohol bottles opened by the people and it was overall a celebration of indulgence.
The festival opened its doors, and many flock towards them. The Millieth and Knights of Favonius kept the peace relatively easily, getting the people to sit at their seats for the ceremony speech in the middle of an empty land with cliffs and forests.
"Good day everyone, as you all know today is a sacred festival. I wish nothing more than to congratulate our lovely Creator for their contribution to Teyvat as a whole. Let us celebrate with the most enthusiasm!" Venti finished his speech with a ballad as the crowd cheered.
Behind the stage, "Creator" was fixing their hair with the help of Zhongli. The ex-Archon gently brushed the soft locks of theirs while they sipped the man's brewed tea, unknowing of its unfortunate side effects.
Zhongli held their hand as they make their way towards the stage, slightly staggering along. He gave them a closed eyed smile as he gave a nod to Tartaglia who was watching them both. Beside Childe was Capitano, who bit his tongue seeing the people celebrate an impostors "Birthday".
"May those who have wronged you be brought to Justice, my dearest Grace." The ginger mumbled, already hearing thunder roar and crackle beginning to bloom.
"What's going on? Venti. Ei. What's wrong with the weather?" They asked the two perplexed Archons. The clouds blocked the sun from lighting the festival, as harsh winds began to sway everything in its wake. Thunder roared and lightning struck the nearby decorations.
"Get the people to safety! Something is clearly wrong!" Jean ordered the Knights who began to usher the frightened people into shelter.
Something jumps down from the cliffs creating a gigantic crater during its landing. Ei looked at them and began to shiver once she saw the kanji in their eyes. Uppermoon 3.
The Millieth and Knights of Favonius grabbed their weapon, and under the "Creators" order, attacked. Ei summoned her weapon to kill the intruder, but her strike was blocked by a katana.
She jumped back, only to find another had joined the fight. The figure had six eyes, and wearing a traditional samurai outfit.
"So this is the God of Eternity? Very well then. Under my Master's order, I'll kill you." He breathed out before clashing his blade against hers, as Akaza deal with Venti's arrows.
Rui infiltrated the Yashiro commission, who informed him that the commissioner and his family wanted no part in this whole festival. They firmly believed that violence is only needed when push comes to shove, and so, disliked the treatment "Creator" casted upon you.
Ayato was blessed to be granted such power, hence why he wanted no part in this celebration. Sumeru had no part in this as well, the "Creator" not caring enough to visit them.
The Kamisato family questioned whether or not the "Creator" is what they say they are, not feeling a glow coming from their being. There were far in between that could see your radiant glow, Zhongli was one of them, but it seems that that kind of power wasn't given to the others.
"Creator" hid behind Zhongli, who dropped the concerned facade. "No one will come to save you, you know?" He gleefully chuckled, seeing Tartaglia and Capitano make quick work of the other soldiers. The fatui who fought against the Qixing and Adepti had the help of Columbina and Pierro.
Rui's threads had already made work of the other commissions, as the child smiled at his handiwork before accompanying his "father" making their way to Zhongli and the impostor.
"How pitiful. I better get that purple mark on your skin checked." The ex-Archon sadistically stated, entangling their locks into his fingers before pulling them. Zhongli no longer hold back the anger in the pit of his stomach.
"My my, I didn't think Morax would appear before me, I'm impressed." You laughed out, holding a fan to your lips. The man laughed along, watching as the person's eye began to melt.
"I didn't think it would take this long to show it's effects, did you accidentally pour too little?" You turned your attention to the ex-Archon, who merely turned his head in shame.
Rui was beside you, getting his threads ready whenever you needed it. The impostor coughed out blood, with the fluid getting onto Zhongli's suit. Zhongli clicked his tongue.
"I wondered why the others have stuck by you, you cretin. Then I realized, I was special. Unlike them, I can see the truth. How dare you order me to kill my own Creator?" Zhongli spat out venom, draconic eyes bore into the Impostors skull.
Akaza managed to land several strikes on Venti, who couldn't find an opening to shoot his arrow into. The latter screamed as his arm was broken by the pink haired male.
"Seems like that God got her wish, now she's just like her sister, resting eternally." You chided, eyeing the now limp body of Ei who was split in half horizontally, while your subordinate sheated back his katana.
Rui noticed the bard going limp as well, "Father, Akaza is finished with the Anemo archon too." The boy excitedly tugged his father's sleeve. You nodded and turned your attention towards the crawling impostor, who Zhongli graciously broke the lower half of theirs.
"Death can only be brought once life cease. That is the law of nature, but, where's the fun in following deaths design? Rui. I order you to share your blood with them." You stood infront of the impostor, who reached out to you with an angry expression. Rui had no sympathy for their foolish arrogance, and did as you told.
You watched them gasp for breath as his white threads dig into their neck. Zhongli watched in morbid fascination as their body changed. Long white locks replaced their natural hair colour, skin pigmented snow-like, and red markings appear across their skin.
"Now you're connected to Rui. And, you'll truly perish once I allow you too." You smiled at their new appearance, You raised your wooden geta slipper high, before slamming them onto their upper arm, breaking the bone within them.
They let out an ear piercing scream, as those who were still alive turned to look at them. The children had been taken in by Arlechinno and Albedo as per Your order. Kaeya went with Pierro willingly because he wasn't exactly pleased with "Creator".
Khaenriahn's were different, They knew the truth.
Akaza and Kokushibo walked over towards you four, with no one left stable enough to fight back.
"This is for stealing my face." You draw back your leg before slamming it onto their backside, hard enough to pierce through the skin. Zhongli stood near the two Archon killers, dreading the fact that your slipper and sock is ruined by tainted blood.
"Master is pissed," Akaza marveled at your brutal display. The three can feel the rage of your blood inside them, rendering them scared.
"This is for my sweet Amy, Bennet, and Razor." You bent down to their level and used your fan to create cuts upon their body, before injecting a vial of wisteria poison into said wounds. The dosage was small enough to merely cause discomfort and not outright death.
"This is for my heart and shattered hope." You grabbed a few strands of their hair and ripped it off clean. They can only whimper in pain as their body shut down due to your poison inside their veins.
"And last, but certainly not least, This is for My Dignity." You gave them a pitied smile as you used your hand to reach in their throat and tore off their vocal chords, pulling it out in a bloody, bloody mess.
As a safety measure, you cutted off their head with a small dagger you brought with you, which was tedious but you shrugged.
"It's finally over... But, why don't I feel accomplished?" You breathed out, throwing their vocal chords onto the ground. Childe was the first to clap. Kokushibo turned towards him, but noticed what he was doing. He awkwardly raised his hands and clapped as well. Rui excitedly clapped his hands, telling Akaza to do it too.
Zhongli slowly clapped, and the others joined in. Columbina who finished plucking out the cyan feathers out of her hair rushed towards you, stepping over the corpse to hug you congratulations.
Your once dull eyes lit up again, Justice has finally been served.

(CNN) — Sky-gazers around the world were able to glimpse a partial lunar eclipse while September’s full harvest moon shone brightly Tuesday night.
The moon peaked at its fullest at 10:35 p.m. ET Tuesday but will appear full through Thursday morning, according to NASA.
If you viewed the moon on Tuesday evening for about an hour, it also appeared as if a bite has been taken out of it due to a partial lunar eclipse.
A partial lunar eclipse occurs when Earth moves between the sun and the full moon without being perfectly aligned.
The celestial event appeared over Europe and much of Asia, Africa, North America, and South America.
The moon entered Earth’s full shadow at 10:13 p.m. ET and exited it at 11:16 p.m. ET.
The peak of the eclipse was expected to occur at 10:44 p.m. ET, according to NASA.
During a total lunar eclipse, Earth’s shadow can turn the moon’s surface a striking red color, which is known as a blood moon, according to NASA.
But that won’t be the case this week, experts say.
Tumblr media
“The eclipse (Tuesday) will not be a total lunar eclipse, so the moon won’t appear red, instead a portion of the moon will darken,” said Noah Petro, NASA project scientist for both the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Artemis III.
“If you didn’t know it were happening or even look at the moon it might not be noticeable.
But the keen observer may notice the ‘top right’ corner of the moon darker than the rest of the moon,” he said via email.
“This is the part that is completely in(Earth’s) shadow, though not a large portion of the moon will be in darkness.
But if its clear out I encourage folks to go out and look, it’s always worthwhile to look at the moon!”
Tumblr media
September’s full moon is also considered the second of four consecutive supermoons expected in 2024, according to NASA.
Definitions of a supermoon can vary, but the term generally denotes a full moon that is closer to Earth than normal and thus appears larger and brighter in the night sky.
Some astronomers say the phenomenon occurs when the moon is within 90% of perigee — its closest approach to Earth in orbit.
While the typical distance between Earth and the moon is an average of 238,900 miles (384,472 kilometers), September’s full moon was expected to be just 222,637 miles (358,300 kilometers) away, according to NASA.
And keep an eye out for Saturn, which will look like a bright dot close to the full moon.
Tumblr media
Naming The Moon
The name harvest moon is a nod to the season because the event happens close to the beginning of fall, or the autumnal equinox, which occurs on September 22.
Many people associate the harvest moon with being orange in color as it begins to rise, but the same could be said of all full moons.
The hue is due to the greater thickness of Earth’s atmosphere near the horizon, according to EarthSky.
Typically, this time of year is when many summer-planted crops peak in the Northern Hemisphere, and the bright moon once helped farmers work into the evening to harvest their bounty ahead of the first frost, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
Other monikers for September’s full moon — as used across various indigenous tribes — include the “moon of full harvest” from the Hopi people, the “corn maker moon” from the Abenaki tribe, the “moon of the brown leaves” from the Lakota people and “autumn moon” from the Passamaquoddy tribe.
Tumblr media
European names for the moon also honor the fall harvest, including the “fruit moon,” a nod to the fruits that ripen as summer ends, and the “barley moon” to mark when the crop is collected from the fields, according to NASA.
Other harvest-celebrating traditions around this time include the Korean festival of Chuseok and the Chinese Mooncake Festival, both of which also celebrate family and the remembrance of ancestors.
Tumblr media
Upcoming Celestial Events
The next full moon, the hunter’s moon occurring on October 17, will also be a supermoon and the closest of the year at 222,095 miles (357,428 kilometers) away.
The beaver moon will occur on November 15, and the final full moon of the year will be the cold moon on December 15.
Meanwhile, sky-gazers can anticipate a busy meteor shower season to close out 2024.
Here are peak dates for upcoming celestial activity, according to the American Meteor Society:
Draconids: October 7-8
Orionids: October 20-21
Southern Taurids: November 4-5
Northern Taurids: November 11-12
Leonids: November 17-18
Geminids: December 13-14

2nd June >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
(Liturgical Colour: White. Year: B(II))
First Reading Exodus 24:3-8 This is the blood of the Covenant that the Lord has made with you.
Moses went and told the people all the commands of the Lord and all the ordinances. In answer, all the people said with one voice, ‘We will observe all the commands that the Lord has decreed.’ Moses put all the commands of the Lord into writing, and early next morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain, with twelve standing-stones for the twelve tribes of Israel. Then he directed certain young Israelites to offer holocausts and to immolate bullocks to the Lord as communion sacrifices. Half of the blood Moses took up and put into basins, the other half he cast on the altar. And taking the Book of the Covenant he read it to the listening people, and they said, ‘We will observe all that the Lord has decreed; we will obey.’ Then Moses took the blood and cast it towards the people. ‘This,’ he said, ‘is the blood of the Covenant that the Lord has made with you, containing all these rules.’
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 115(116):12-13,15-18
R/ The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord’s name.
How can I repay the Lord for his goodness to me? The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord’s name.
R/ The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord’s name.
O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful. Your servant, Lord, your servant am I; you have loosened my bonds.
R/ The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord’s name.
A thanksgiving sacrifice I make; I will call on the Lord’s name. My vows to the Lord I will fulfil before all his people.
R/ The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord’s name.
Second Reading Hebrews 9:11-15 The blood of Christ can purify our inner self.
Now Christ has come, as the high priest of all the blessings which were to come. He has passed through the greater, the more perfect tent, which is better than the one made by men’s hands because it is not of this created order; and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bull calves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption for us. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer are sprinkled on those who have incurred defilement and they restore the holiness of their outward lives; how much more effectively the blood of Christ, who offered himself as the perfect sacrifice to God through the eternal Spirit, can purify our inner self from dead actions so that we do our service to the living God. He brings a new covenant, as the mediator, only so that the people who were called to an eternal inheritance may actually receive what was promised: his death took place to cancel the sins that infringed the earlier covenant.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Sequence Lauda, Sion
(The Sequence may be said or sung in full, or using the shorter form indicated by the asterisked verses)
Sing forth, O Zion, sweetly sing The praises of thy Shepherd-King, In hymns and canticles divine; Dare all thou canst, thou hast no song Worthy his praises to prolong, So far surpassing powers like thine.
Today no theme of common praise Forms the sweet burden of thy lays – The living, life-dispensing food – That food which at the sacred board Unto the brethren twelve our Lord His parting legacy bestowed.
Then be the anthem clear and strong, Thy fullest note, thy sweetest song, The very music of the breast: For now shines forth the day sublime That brings remembrance of the time When Jesus first his table blessed.
Within our new King’s banquet-hall They meet to keep the festival That closed the ancient paschal rite: The old is by the new replaced; The substance hath the shadow chased; And rising day dispels the night.
Christ willed what he himself had done Should be renewed while time should run, In memory of his parting hour: Thus, tutored in his school divine, We consecrate the bread and wine; And lo – a Host of saving power.
This faith to Christian men is given – Bread is made flesh by words from heaven: Into his blood the wine is turned: What though it baffles nature’s powers Of sense and sight? This faith of ours Proves more than nature e’er discerned.
Concealed beneath the two-fold sign, Meet symbols of the gifts divine, There lie the mysteries adored: The living body is our food; Our drink the ever-precious blood; In each, one undivided Lord.
Not he that eateth it divides The sacred food, which whole abides Unbroken still, nor knows decay; Be one, or be a thousand fed, They eat alike that living bread Which, still received, ne’er wastes away.
The good, the guilty share therein, With sure increase of grace or sin, The ghostly life, or ghostly death: Death to the guilty; to the good Immortal life. See how one food Man’s joy or woe accomplisheth.
We break the Sacrament, but bold And firm thy faith shall keep its hold, Deem not the whole doth more enfold Than in the fractured part resides Deem not that Christ doth broken lie, ’Tis but the sign that meets the eye, The hidden deep reality In all its fullness still abides.
– – – – – –
*Behold the bread of angels, sent For pilgrims in their banishment, The bread for God’s true children meant, That may not unto dogs be given: Oft in the olden types foreshowed; In Isaac on the altar bowed, And in the ancient paschal food, And in the manna sent from heaven.
*Come then, good shepherd, bread divine, Still show to us thy mercy sign; Oh, feed us still, still keep us thine; So may we see thy glories shine In fields of immortality;
*O thou, the wisest, mightiest, best, Our present food, our future rest, Come, make us each thy chosen guest, Co-heirs of thine, and comrades blest With saints whose dwelling is with thee. Amen. Alleluia.
Gospel Acclamation John 6:51
Alleluia, alleluia! I am the living bread which has come down from heaven, says the Lord. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever. Alleluia!
Gospel Mark 14:12-16,22-26 This is my body; this is my blood.
On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was sacrificed, his disciples said to Jesus, ‘Where do you want us to go and make the preparations for you to eat the passover?’ So he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, ‘Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, and say to the owner of the house which he enters, “The Master says: Where is my dining room in which I can eat the passover with my disciples?” He will show you a large upper room furnished with couches, all prepared. Make the preparations for us there.’ The disciples set out and went to the city and found everything as he had told them, and prepared the Passover. And as they were eating he took some bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to them. ‘Take it,’ he said ‘this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and when he had returned thanks he gave it to them, and all drank from it, and he said to them, ‘This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out for many. I tell you solemnly, I shall not drink any more wine until the day I drink the new wine in the kingdom of God.’ After psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

The first tents for the rights of the Palestinian people were mounted in Bologna: the "acampada" of students and students began. A least a hundred young people, working to music in a relaxed and festive atmosphere, set up about 30 tents in Scaravilli Square, the heart of the university area of the city, enclosed between porticoes, in front of the rectory of the Alma Mater. The Twitch livestream of the Palestinian Youth Transnational Assembly was projected on a big screen-like canvas.
With connections of colleagues from other universities in the struggle: France, the United Kingdom, the United States and even from Birzeit, Palestine. Thus began the “student intifada,” a campaign of initiatives and events ahead of the large mobilization for May 15, the day of remembrance of the Nakba, on which there is a call for all Italian university students to encamp in the courtyards of the universities. In Bologna tomorrow, Palestinian Youth will present their program of events and guests for the coming days. Among these, they anticipate to ANSA, will be Patrick Zaki, [a Coptic Egyptian activist and student at the University of Bologna,] with a speech scheduled for May 8.

Stuff I'm Looking Forward To in April
Welcome to the 2nd quarter of 2024! In addition to April Fools Day (April 1), Eid al-Fitr (April 9-10), Patriots Day / Marathon Monday (April 15 in MA), Tax Day (April 15), Earth Day (April 22), Passover (April 22-30), Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day (April 24) and there's also a solar eclipse on April 8, here is what's on my radar this month:
Movies:
Coup de Chance
Not sure if I'm "looking forward to this", but I'm curious about Woody Allen's new one as he has hinted this would be his last. Whatever your opinion is of Woody Allen, as a filmmaker he has made some solid films. Opens 4/5.
Civil War
Alex Garland has had a mixed bag as a writer/director with Ex Machina being his best so far. His new one has been creating quite a buzz about a dystopian not-so-far future where journalists try to make it to D.C. before rebels descend on the White House. No coincidence this is being released during an election year. Opens 4/12 (review to come).
Challengers
What got my attention about this tennis drama wasn't star Zendaya, director Luca Guadagnino or the score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It's the fact that it was filmed in Massachusetts and more specifically it filmed a little in Bedford, where I grew up. Opens 4/26 (review to come).
Music:
Pearl Jam Dark Matter
Pearl Jam's 12th studio album is finally year. The band's last album was 2020's Gigaton, which I noted was their best album since their 2006 self-titled album. I'm digging what I've heard so far and hopes are high for this one! Album drops 4/19. (Review to come).
Bruce Springsteen Best of Bruce Springsteen
The Boss has released a number of compilations over the years, his 1995 Greatest Hits being among my favorites. Now there's a new compilation with 18 hits ranging from 1973 to 2020. Album drops 4/19 (review to come).
St. Vincent All Born Screaming
St. Vincent is back with her 7th studio album. This one features appearances by numerous guests including Dave Grohl and Josh Freese of Foo Fighters. Album drops 4/26.
TV:
Curb Your Enthusiasm finale
I've been enjoying Season 12 of Larry David's social assassin. This is the final season (or so they say) and the season/series finale is set to air on HBO on 4/7. End of an era!
Conan O'Brien Must Go
I'm a huge fan of Conan O'Brien, going back to Late Night with Conan O'Brien (read my memories of attending his show here) and since then he's bounced back from the Tonight Show debacle with a great run on TBS and his fun podcast. Now he's back with a travel show meeting fans all over the world! Series premiere on 4/18 on Max!
Fake Holidays:
Record Store Day
The day we celebrate independently owned and operated record stores is one of my favorite holidays of the year! It's on 4/20 this year!
Independent Bookstore Day
Not to be outdone, independent bookstores get their day of celebration on 4/27.
Film Festivals:
Salem Horror Fest
I have been lucky enough to cover this genre film festival in Salem, MA since 2018. This year they are hitting some venues beyond Salem as well. Fest runs from 4/25 to 5/5!

10 AM  —  SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 fall semester school assembly @ the auditorium
at the semestral assembly, both school dean and student council president speak gently of son jisoo's death. after a brief remembrance and a call for cooperation in the ongoing investigations, the program proceeds. freshmen are welcomed with fanfare and short performances. recognition is awarded to outstanding students across different departments. and finally, the red and green club are called onto the stage—presented as the cream of the crop, the best of the best, shining paragons of talent for all to aspire to.
while they stand on stage, the dean announces the school of visual arts' annual fall exhibit—a highly anticipated, week-long gallery show held at the geumjanhwa gallery every fifteenth of september. a pre-cursor to the mugunghwa arts festival held at the end of fall. every year, students hope and pray for an exhibition space on the floor of the first day.
cheers and groans fill the auditorium as the dean gives each member of the red and green club an exhibition space for the first day. the club, as a whole, receives another day-one exhibition space for a commemorative piece about jisoo. recipients of the remaining four spots are announced before the program concludes.
Tumblr media
event specific info . the exhibit takes place on september 15-19. while the exhibit is ongoing, fairs and booths are set up across the campus by students from all departments. some advertise clubs and programs, while others sell goods and services. you can write about your character manning or visiting these booths. the campus is alive with students practicing for the exhibit. if you would like your character to present at the fall exhibit, message the main blog with the day you would like them to present. there are twelve vacant exhibition spaces each day. students can present a maximum of three days. ic, these exhibits are vetted by teachers. the exhibit is an annual event and joining yields significant grade incentives (even instant A’s), so its likely that visual arts students have been preparing for it as early as last year (of course, there will always be procrastinators). non-visual arts students can present on the last day. day one  . son jiyeon, jung miyoung, nam minjun, kim mina, liu mingze, anikka ‘nika’ chaiyon, song siyeon, the red and green club, vacant, vacant, vacant, vacant day two  . day three  .   day four .   day five  .  han junjae/lee muyeol
this is optional. feel free to write about your character’s exhibit. what are they presenting? what media are they using? what do most people think of it? you can also post pictures, edits, playlists or any media you prefer. you can also write about the process they went through to get to the exhibit, either in threads or solos. was their initial work rejected for presentation, or was it smooth sailing all the way? where did they get their inspiration?
check on your art major friends! they probably won’t be sleeping for the first two weeks of the semester.
Tumblr media
ooc info . plot drops, covering specific scenarios and involving specific characters, will be posted at random times. a plot drop about the exhibit will be posted later on. tag event-related posts with #mguacti. it’s possible i missed some details, so if you have any questions just ask!

So like any time of year is a good time to acknowledge the festive vibe of another season. With that caveat im working on a mental inventory of how my festive seasons operate:
Oct 31 is the first new year of the year, witches new year aka "halloween"/samhain, halloween refers to the neoliberal secular festival (which of course i celebrate all month) and samhain refers to the witchy paganistic celebration on the 31st, which has different festivities. I spend more time on halloween publicly because thats my public craftwork, keeping the holiday accessible. After this spookyposting mostly ends until after valentine's.
November is the month of the dead. (Starting with Día de Muertos on the first and second and continuing with remembrance day on the 11th. Poppies are worn all month, día festivities are latinx invite only.)
Nov 5 is remember-remember, when we honor the works of alan moore and watch a movie he hates
Nov 11 is an antiwar day for mourning those who died as soldiers
Dec 1 is the start of the yule season; "christmas" warmup festivisties begin (yuletime music and decor intensify tenfold or more), Chanukah thoughts and greetings begin
Dec 19 is the solstice cusp; solstice festivities begin, lasting until solstice, which is second new year. This is a very craft-focused period of the yule season aka the witchiest part of december (essentially saturnalia, may be expanded to encompass the 17th-23rd date range)
Dec 24 is yule eve, festivities intensify, this is a mini feast day, seasonal movie marathoning begins formally
Dec 25 is Santa's day, when most gifts are exchanged or opened and the feast occurs. Egg dish for breakfast (eg benedict, rancheros) preferably with a mimosa, large roast with all the trimmings after dark. Movie marathon continues.
Dec 26-31 is boxing week, for decompressing from peak winter festy. Feast leftovers are eaten. Yule festivities end (music stops, no additional decor, movie marathon strictly kiboshed)
Jan 1 is gregorian new year, the third and least important new year; this holiday is about drinking champagne and personal reflection, typically a somber affair. The rest of the month is about lunar new year buildup.
Jan 25 is robbie burns day, which is about eating haggis and reading scottish poetry
End jan/early feb is lunar new year, 恭喜发财 🥰 very festive time leading into valentine's; both have lots of red. Lunar new year is about appreciating the zodiac animal for the year and staying cozy, and eating heavy savory foods and small sweets.
Feb 1 is the start of valentine's season; hearts, love, red&pink, romance and friendship, coziness and adventure, confectionery. Some overlap with lunar new year.
Feb 2 is groundhogs day, a celebration of the bill murray metaphysical romcom "groundhogs day"
Feb 14 is valentine's day, the festivities peak
Feb 15-march 13 is the pre-white day valentine's echo; this is a period of seasonal change induced mania, focus is on completion or progression of creative projects
March 14 is white day, aka second valentine's; this marks the official end of winter and start of spring aka easter season
March 17 is st patricks day which is about drinking like its summer already because the celts rock; you get to decide if youre cheating death by staying in and drinking or going out and interacting with traffic
March 18-May 1 is eastertime; its all about spring, renewal, fertility (bunnies, eggs, flowers/buds). The spring equinox happens march 19-20, a time for craftwork. Easter feast day is always on some random collectively-determined day during late eastertime, the culmination of a 4 day weekend of revelry.
April 1 is april fools, a silly day for jokes and japes. Minor holiday.
April 4 is fourfour, a day for dance music and honouring the cultural contributions of rich juzwiak. Minor holiday.
April 20 is 420, the stoners holiday. For blunts and nature walks. Flower and flowers. Gifting people baked goods or edibles is ideal. Flowercrowns all the way
April 22 is earth day 🌎
May 1 is mayday, this is a huge deal festival; should be spent in a crowd, similar vibe to 420 the more into cottagecore territory you get, very workers movement oriented in urban centers. This marks the dawn of summer festival season, which is about living that burner life; try to go to as many live music events and demos as possible.
May 4, may the fourth be with you; good time to marathon star wars/rewatch the ewok movies. Ds9 reruns for the nonobservant. Even more of a day to be stoned than normal.
May 5 is cinco de mayo, which is about softshell tacos and modellos and/or margaritas because mexico kicks ass. Summer festival atmosphere amps up threefold.
June 1 marks the start of pride. Rainbow multimonth festival for diversity, love, prosocial sexual freedom values. (This is coincident with native pride/history month.) Party hard! Pride lasts all summer although it is mainly over by the close of vancouver pride around August 6.
June 21 official start of summer, a day for outdoor drinking
July 1 cornball canadiana day, a day for drinking and listening to gord downie songs, bbq, crowds, smoking, fireworks. Red and white aesthetic. This marks the start of a 4 day drinking holiday, ideally spent mostly at the beach. GREAT day for native solidarity demo, extra magicbux there.
July 4 american independence day, for fireworks and bbq, listening to that one kelis album, drinking, watching vietnam movies, fear & loathing/where the buffalo roam/rum diary. irony to postirony vibes, red/white/blue aesthetic. Could watch the sandlot and listen to jonathan richman. This marks the start of True Summer.
July 5-August 31 is True Summer; this is a time for day drinking and midnight walking. Other festivals like yule and samhain are frequently referenced nostalgically. Local fairs and amusement parks should be visited. Canoeing. Foraging seafood. Grilling. Gazpacho.
Sept 1 marks the start of labor day week, the ambiguously long or short week that closes summer. Labor day is a bigtime last gasp for summer drinking and grilling as well as visiting the fair.
{Between labor day and the equinox is a liminal phase of autumn known as Virgo Season; its all about back to school vibes, fallcore mode begins. Long walks and foliage scrutiny, lots of divinations}
Sept 21-24 is fall equinox, the official start of fall. Fall season worship intensifies. Start anticipating the pumpkin spice now.
Oct 1 pumpkin spice season in full effect, it is now officially Halloween. Halloween lasts all month, culminating in samhain night. There is a midmonth feast honouring the first nations, falling on indigenous people's day.
