another ffxiv confession related to alphinaud ~ something about the way he commands the space of a room is so hot. even when he's admitted to be talking off the cuff, that tongue of his is so brilliant and sharp and powerful. and though his wealthy upbringing could make him a pansy, he hardly flinches taking a sword to the throat (post arr) and has no issues putting the wol bodily behind him (shb) or throwing himself in front of harms way to protect someone he loves (sb). it's just,so, *screams* i want him to protect me. he's my knight in shining armor. (yes, his outfit in shb leaves me a lovestruck puddle)

bonus: remember that scene in shb where he kneels to riqi tio and encourages her on. he IS a knight in shining armor and he's so good with kids and so sweet and he drives me crazyyyyyyyyasdfgjjgkjkflkcn

I imagine it would take Thancred a really long time to get over the specter of Moenbryda hanging over his relationship with Urianger.

Like, regardless of what his connection with her was -- and I really doubt Thancred even knows. Were they dating? Friends? Lovers? -- it's clear either way that she meant a lot to Urianger, and that her memory lingers with him. That's obviously going to have implications for his future relationships, no matter how it presented.

And I imagine Thancred would be really worried for a long time about stepping on her toes, or encroaching on the sentiment Urianger still carries for her. Especially in that nebulous time before either of them has admitted their feelings. Thancred doesn't want to confess that he loves Urianger, because he knows, is keenly well aware that Urianger loved Moenbryda, loves her still, even if he doesn't know how that love presents for him, and he doesn't want to intrude on that. Doesn't know where that line is, has never found himself in a situation where it matters before. So he keeps his feelings to himself, and tries to deny them for as long as he can.

I feel like, for that reason more than any other, Urianger has to be the first one to confess. Which is also not easy to orchestrate, really, but of the two of them, he's more likely to open up about what he's feeling first. Between Thancred's relative inexperience in long-term relationships and his worry over Moenbryda, he'd be stuck swallowing down his feelings even after he realizes them for years if you let him.

Roevember 18: Comrades

To say Robyn was initially intimidated by the Scions is a bit of an understatement. Dealing with a group of highly intelligent and well educated scholars was not normally in her wheelhouse, and she often felt a bit embarrassed at her own humble upbringing.

But she quickly found refuge with their approachable receptionist, and a fast friendship was born. The trials they faced in Ishgard and Kugane only strengthened their bond. As much as Robyn has protected Tataru over the years, Tataru has also protected her from those who would try to take advantage of the hero.

And one day, Tataru helped Robyn take on perhaps her greatest challenge yet - learning how to read. (Look, she may have been motivated to do more than have Tataru read her letters to her and secretly pen her responses, especially to a certain miqo'te woman back in Eorzea)

so my headcanon is that when everyone gets back from getting the shit kicked outta them in sad space, the wol is especially roughed up after going toe-to-toe with tweaked out!zenos /affectionate

when aymeric heard that the scions returned alive but gravy was in critical condition, he asked a favor from hraesvelgr and flew to sharlayan lickity split where he parked his ass next to her bed while she slept. only reason why he wasn't in there when she woke up was cause thancred put him in a chokehold so he would go shower and get something to eat LMAO ("dude you're stanking up the place go take a fuckn shower, gravy don't wanna wake up and have yo raggedy ass accosting her nostrils" <- thancred probably)

Hubby was talking to me when I was in battle so I forgot to take screenshots oops. Guydelot as always is a charmer of course, "Your song is bad and you should feel bad!" is a classic.

And yes Guydelot, tell us where you hid your gangly max-height Elezen limbs. Sanson here is also confessing that he was worried that Guydelot just up and left.

Guydelot also confesses that he knows Sanson was worried. Probably from the journal, but he has been following Sanson from the shadows since Tailfeather so he probably realises it just by reading Sanson's body language.

Maybe you should be more worried about those lovesick notes you left all over the margin, Sanson...

And just like that Guydelot shows his true colour once again. He's a man of action, not words (song lyrics not included) and the fact that they bested the Siren with the power of their own song was enough. Who cares about all of these documentation and whatnot.

I find it funny here that because this story still does involve the WoL, they just had to include this bit. But it would make more sense to have Guydelot perform his feat in battle and observe him there than rely on the WoL to do it. In fact, why not both?

In fact Guydelot reacts to this lol. He's like 'we wrote our own Ballad and you want to note her abilities instead???'
