Spent a whole night trying to upload a fic, Chrome crashes and kills my entire herd of sheep

As the title suggests, it is currently 5am in my timezone, and I am Struggling, sister.

The story starts when I stumbled upon my old Wattpad account (yikes) and saw that a fic I wrote a year ago, like the dumbass I am, wasn't actually published. It was in my drafts, and I was half glad I didn't publish it 'cause it wasn't really good.

So, in a sleep-deprived induced haze, I decided to edit it to the best of my crusty writing abilities (I haven't written since this fic, so it's been a year)

I had fun doing it, okay. I'll give it that. It was a fic about a ship I love very dearly.

But anyways, when I finished editing I tried to transfer everything to AO3. It was going good, I familiarized myself with the controls (since it is also my first time posting on AO3) and completed the formatting.

Now, the problem started when I tried to preview my fic. I have a really, really chonky laptop. It lags so bad, but I've gotten used to the constant 'Not Responding' messages I get. I probably spent more time waiting for it to load than actually writing.

So, I had two windows open side by side, WP and AO3. I decided to upload the finished Wattpad draft. That was when the lag just increased. I tried everything to lessen the lag, I sacrificed my background music and everything. But it still lagged. I tried to edit some stuff on the AO3 window to be productive while the WP window was still loading, but the lag was affecting the AO3 window too. Soon they were both displaying the annoying 'Not Responding' message. After some waiting, my WP version finally uploaded. (Though later I found out I forgot to add in some details, which seriously pissed me off)

It was chaos after that. I wanted the AO3 window to stop lagging, so I tried to exit the WP window since it was already posted (I figured I could just add in the WP details after I posted in AO3) but a box popped up saying Chrome won't respond, and literally seconds after that, BOTH windows freaking disappeared. I was left staring at the tiny Chrome icon on the taskbar processing the end of my life and the death of my poor sheep. I had spent a lot of time editing in AO3 and I was really proud of the outcome. I kept telling myself while writing that if it crashed, life wouldn't be worth anything anymore. And it freaking crashed. I am in a rage. My sheep are dead. My honor dissed. This is an outrage.

Dramatics aside, at least I got the actual fic saved (and posted! Thank you Lord) but I'll have to do the AO3 thing all over again... This is fine. But before I made this post I tried opening Chrome again and right now it's in an eternal state of 'Not Responding' as I write this almost 40 minutes since I opened Reddit. Even the mousepad won't work properly. I'll come back to the Chonk later when the honor of my sheep has been rightfully returned.

tl;dr: Tried posting a fic, but the lag and especially the infamous Crash of Chrome personally went into my home and killed my sheep, leaving nothing but tears and an unsaved AO3 draft in its wake. (but I got a copy of the fic so it's f i ne)

I just wanted to vent, lol. Sorry if it got too long. No sheep were harmed in the making of this post :3
