More warmup painting exercises with acrylic inks, featuring some gen 2 fire types. Magby is just such a cute little goober, and I wanted to have some fun with adding lava textures to Magcargo and Slugma. It's still a tricky substance to paint but I think I'm getting there!

Bacon
Tumblr media
Name: Bacon
Species: Sizzlipede
Type: Fire/Bug
Terra Type: Fire
Breed: Standard
Sex: Male
Age: Unsure, but we estimate around a year old (adult)
Height: 1'11
Weight: 2.2 lbs
Ability: White Smoke
Moveset: Smokescreen, Bite, Flame Wheel, Bug Bite
Bacon was a drop-off from a lady who found him in her oven. She didn't want to release him back into the wild, so she brought him here. Bacon is friendly, but also likes to do his own thing. He likes going into warm places, be that sitting near the fire place or hanging out in the oven or on top of the stove. If interested in adopting him, reblog this post with your qualifications and reasons why.

Litwick Facts
Tumblr media
-The scientific name for Litwick is "Ignus Fatum" which translates to "foolish flame"
-I'm sure a lot of people are worried about Litwick stealing your life force. However, there is a way to tell when they're doing this. When the flame is an ethereal blue, that means they are stealing your life force. When their flames are dull and purple, that's when they're not feeding
-Even then, mostly only wild Litwick do this. Litwick in captivity who are well-fed don't usually steal the life force of others
-Despite their similar appearance, Litwick and Greavard are NOT related. Litwick and the rest of it's line aren't actually closley related to many Pokemon and are in their own group
-Depending on the place they were hatched and raised, the wax litwick may take on various scents. Smelling the scent of a Litwick from your yome town can cause feelings of nostalgia (headcanon from @pokebiologist )
-Despite being fire types, Litwick don't do well in hot temperatures and mostly survive in old airy buildings and thrive the most on cool nights
-They can also dull down the heat of their flames enough to the point where it is safe to touch
-Before they started living with humans, Litwick were just pokemon that resembled ghostly flames in the night. They started looking like candles
Tumblr media
(Art by Vulpek on Deviantart)
-The proverb "don't go towards the light" originated in Unova, referring to Litwick. It's now used as "The light at the end of the tunnel" referring to the light you see when you die. (Headcanon from @indepthpokemonheadcanons )
-In old Unova and Galar, people would often make candles resembling Litwicks to scare off evil spirits. Some people still do this practice today
-Litwick eggs are really squishy and one should be extra careful when handling them
-Shiny Litwick are said to be more dangerous since their blue flames are hotter and deadlier

What if Hatsune Miku was a fire type trainer
I love this design so much.
Though I had to take some creative liberties since with the leggings and shoes. I still love how this turned out.
Also been trying out a new shading technique that was fun.
(Edit since I forgot to add some elements)

Violet (Adopted)
Tumblr media
Name: Violet
Species: Lampent
Type: Fire/Ghost
Breed: Birthday Candle
Sex: Female
Height: 1'9
Weight: 28.4
Ability: Flash fire
Moveset: Shadow Ball, Fire spin, Confuse Ray, Endure
Violet is a reserved and quiet lampent. She doesn't like to he touched much and would rather find a ledge where she can perch on. She's very watchful and observant and would do well in a quiet household with places she can perch. Meal-wise, she likes a lot of bug types (souls of them) and you can buy ethical food for her at pokemon centers. If interested in adoption, reblog this post with your qualifications and reasons for adoption.

A friend of mine gifted a Kantonian Vulpix to me. She's pretty timid, but I think we've bonded well. But she evolved recently and I can't help but remember the stories I've heard of Ninetales' curses and grudges.
Can you tell me a bit about them so I'm less scared?
Yeah, of course! Also, don't worry. Ninetales can curse someone, but they'll rarely ever do it to their trainer, let alone anyone unless they're severely harmed. And they're smart, and can tell if the person did it on purpose or not.
Ninetales Facts
Tumblr media
(Art by Sie Nanahara)
-The scientific name for Ninetales is "Vulpes Novema" which translates to "nine fox"
-Nintales and Vulpix are seen as the archetype for Vulpine Pokemon, and their group was even named after Vulpix
-Speaking of the Vulpine group, Ninetails is related to pokemon like Zoroark and Thievul, being the most related to Delphox
-While Ninetails are able to curse people, being cursed for 1,000 years is an exaggeration and there have only been a couple cases of that. The most amount of time you'll likely be cursed is for a week
-Ninetales are warm to the touch and are very soft
-They can get bored easily and will often make flames in front of them to tell stories or to just do random movements to keep themselves amused
-Ninetales hate being dirty and will be very snobby about being clean. They also don't want to war dirty food and will turn their noses to anything that they find dirty
Tumblr media
(Art by Kyu on Pixiv)
-Despite not being ghost types, Ninetales have many ghostly abilities
-Ninetales also seem to have a dormant gene for the ghost typing. Because of this, researchers theorize that ancient Ninetales might've been fire/ghost types, or evolve into a ghost type
-As well as the ghostly abilities, Ninetales was seen as the Kantonian counterpart for Hisuian Zoroark. They were both seen as trickster foxes with magical abilities, and both of them would also have masks made based on them for festivals
-Ninetales are omnivores and eat berries while also hunting small rodents and birds
-In old Kanto, Ninetales were seen as incredibly dangerous, but the fur of one was believed to ward off evil spirits and yokai. Because of this, Ninetales fur was always sold for high prices
-Ninetales (and Hisuian Zoroark) have the longest life span of any Foxmon, being able to live for 1,000 years (always have a plan for when you die bcuz in most cases, your Ninetales WILL outlive you)
-Ninetales will often lay their eggs in direct sunlight. Researchers aren't sure why, but their best guess is that it might help power their fire abilities while the Vulpix is still developing
-They have a lot of pride in themselves and their abilities
-Ninetales are solitary and don't like anyone other than their young in their territories
Tumblr media
-Unlike a lot of foxmon, Ninetales don't always mate for life
-Ninetales can lay up to 5 vulpix eggs per litter
-Like most foxmon, Ninetales are very vocal and have up to 40 different vocal sounds for communication
-Ninetales use their ears and fur to help regulate their body temperature
-Fur coats made from Ninetales used to be very popular among the wealthy, but that practice became illegal in most regions due to how rare they are
