Rake Brushes for firealpaca !

i made these recently as a way to get more texturing into my art, you can see the PNGs in the middle of this post , you can use my firealpaca/medibang settings for em by adding em on the brush menu -> add bitmap brush (file) . But you can probably also add em to CSP or procreate and fiddle around with the settings, watercolor settings recommended ! have fun :)

Settings:

Dont be scared to play around with the last two settings (ease of mixing colors + load color) to suit your preferences!! They won't affect how the brush looks like, just how it blends

Firealpaca update from this september week!

FireAlpaca Ver 2.11.9(2023/09/20)

When using a material brush, you can now draw with anti-aliasing completely turned off.

Implemented brush snap to grid.

Added L version and 2L version (Japanese photo size) to newly created templates.

It is now possible to display a "dark checkered pattern" when using a transparent background (View menu).

Added mm to grid settings.

B5 has been added to the manga manuscript template.

Added gradient preset (can be initialized with "Initialize Settings -> Restore Gradients…" from the Help menu).

some of these updates feel hugely helpful, especially the mm settings being added and the new templates. the global antialiasing (first point) will be so helpful for many who have asked for this before!

This is the Buddy for November 18th. It's got shades of October 22nd's Buddy, right?

It doesn't really represent anything related to the real world, as much as me wanting to try out the technique I used that day of drawing the smoke, then selecting some segments of the drawing and sending them to a layer under the rest of the drawing. The results are what you see.

It kind of makes me wonder about all those weird, abstract, and sometimes pretentious "meaningful" pieces of art we see online, and the implication that they're not really supposed to represent anything, either literally or symbolically, but were rather drawn because the artist wanted to experiment with a technique or something.

Of course there are always people who say there's always a bit of emotion that bleeds into a person's art, no matter how much of an amateur the person is. That reminds me of a Scott McCloud line where there's no such thing as pure art that's created without an economic goal (even the mad artists living in a cellar are still hoping someone sees enough value in their work to let them keep living there), nor is there something that's pure business without any artsy undercurrent to it (even a suck-up raising a glass to toast their boss is kind of making a bit of a flourish in the motion.)

I don't know if I agree (McCloud hasn't solved enough word problems, I know there's no art there) but it's interesting to think about.

Imagine after the loops end in assassiffrin assfrin au the party accompanies him on his redemption quest and keep having to protect him from people trying to get revenge on him.

Then Vaugarde turns on the Saviors for harboring the one half responsible for the curse.

They demand to know why and the family says "how is he supposed to atone for what they've done if they're dead?"

And then imagine Siffrin spends a lot of time learning more Wish Craft and finds a way to go back in time to stop himself from helping the king in the first place.

Buuuut of course he has a crisis because that means he'll lose his family as they are now but also he kinda did kill a bunch of people and mess up an entire country sooOoooOOoo

But theennn Isa or Odile catches wind of what Sif is trying to do and the fam manages to secretly tweak his wish so their memories are transported back with them too.

and idk they go back looking like loop or another star creature and hunt themself down to stop them from meeting/helping the king. The fam has to find him before he spirals too far.

its very late and my brain is going all over the place with this. Maybe he finds the king and is about to kill him but his past self walks in and is like uhhh and then they fight and stops him from killing their other self.

Loop is there too maybe idk and the king gets redemption too i guess?

Does Aizawa ever catch those fishermen who hurt Mer-zashi?? What does he do to them?

After Aizawa helps Gang Orca get some plastic untangled from around his fin, he owes him a favour. So Aizawa gets him to attack the hunters' boat, just to scare them off a bit. They just think it's a normal orca, and after it happens a couple of times they say 'this is NOT worth it' and go find somewhere else to sail. The seas are now harpoon-threat-free, and the mers can swim and hang out on the rocks and beach in peace.
