I figured this call was appropriate since #firefly2017 is over..... maybe he's still in recovery mode (at Clawson, Oakland)

so for the past few months i have been in & out of the hospital due to an abscess that made itself comfortable inside of my right iliac muscle causing intense pain & limited movement which forced me to use crutches to get around. to add more seriousness to the mix, it was also discovered that there was a small but still dangerous amount of bacteria growing on my heart. after the first attempt of draining it failed it decided to seek revenge by infecting the nearby bone making things even more serious & dangerous to my health than what i was already dealing with. i was transferred to another hospital to have surgery to remove the abscess completely & to determine the seriousness of the now infected bones. surgery was thankfully a success & luckily the muscle itself had somehow avoided serious infection & was cleaned throughly. since the bone infection was internally stationed nothing could be done by the doctors, my only option is iv antibiotics for 6 weeks or until cleared. being in the hospital away from my child for 3 weeks had been taking an intense toll on my mental health & also had been affecting my little girl more than we had expected. i only got to see her once a week if at all since i had to rely on busy family members or my husband to make the trip & when it was time for them to leave she would cry while begging to let her stay, everyday she would express how much she missed me & wanted to be with me or for me to come home. unfortunately my only available option for continued treatment was a transfer to another facility away from home that didn't allow young children to visit at all & with her birthday coming up i knew that an extreme emotional meltdown was inevitable if i didn't go home to be with her for at least a week or two & be at her party. so i left against my doctors advise to come home & to search for a place closer to home on my own. my daughter hasn't let me out of her sight since getting home & even burst with excitement the next morning that i was really with her & she wasn't dreaming. even though i am still in pain while also being fully aware of the dangers that could creep up at any moment, the chance to return to some form of normalcy, to plan her party with my husband & family has been priceless with every precious second of it worth it. i will resume treatment & finally overcome this 3 month long demon that put my life at such risk out of nowhere. it's a bit morbid that illness can make things more important or meaningful than ever imaginable when it's been something routine for years, it's made me truly realize how lucky i am to have such an amazing husband who loves me enough to do whatever it takes to care for me or give me the slightest bit of comfort during a time of great struggle & stress for himself, i am lucky to have such an intelligent & lovingly devoted child who keeps me motivated to be a better human each day, i am extremely lucky to have a strong & close knit family who has put themselves aside to make sure my daughter, husband & myself are taken care of no matter the hardships they are currently dealing with. each day is more meaningful than before & each moment spent with the ones i love becomes more valuable than all the riches in this world. i will overcome this & become healthy again in more ways than one.
