Cannon shots have shit "person" accuracy because what the cannons were being used to shoot were fucking ships the size of multiple houses and walls five people thick. Cannon balls are comparable to .50cal sniper rounds just way less accurate and way more round.

Or to some of the shittier tank shells out there. Did you know the french had a APHE shell with only 21 millimeters of flatpen? So at 10m of range, at a perfect angle, it could only just barely penetrate a metal sheet 21 mm thick. Now, sure, cannon balls don't have high explosive filler, but I'm pretty sure a large enough cannon ball could probably penetrate more than that actual tank shell.
