It started with just a baby bigshot. He was so cute that he got named and I drew another a baby steelhead and then Pudding with his favorite snack, and now a baby flopper who’s practice dive has gone wrong!

This came to me in my dreams (I thought of it in a turf war match)

just had a potentially prophetic (jesting) dream about Splatoon 4 let's see how it holds up:

In said dream, there was a pre-order and the game released right after the testfire period.

During the testfire period there was a mall-themed map (inside of a mall) that kept getting easily overtaken by one team with high vantage points for snipers. It specifically looked like an 80s mall and there were realy slippery floor sections that couldn't be inked. Some enemy ink took way too long to remove and I think that implied an ink-thickness stat.

Right at midnight people who bought the full-game got dragged into the start of storymode with a special cutscene. You (The Player) are at a party with all the main idols... regardless of gender, you are dating Big Man... things get foggy from there but its implied you two get completely drunk, pass out, and somehow end up drifting off to sea.

Specifically you drift off by floating atop Big Man's stupid flat body like he's a raft. It is not commented on how dangerous that'd be for an inkfish with the risk of water.

Eventually a (friendly) Flipper-Flopper Salmonid rises from the sea and wakes you two up. He addresses you two as "BIG MAN... And NEW YORKER (Player Name)". I don't know how the Player is a New Yorker, I'm just going to assume its secretly a clever tie to the Team Past thing.

It gets fuzzy from there but the campaign is named something to do with salt, like Salt Lake Flats or something or another. You're doing *something* to help the Salmonids, human culture is important. Big Man is there. Big Man is bisexual.

Clearly if anything here is true, I am owed 50 billion dollars... (i jest)

OBSCURE SPLATOON LORE FACT OF THE DAY:

There might be salmon-birds. The sea creatures can willfully evolve themselves into whatever form they want.

How do I know this?

It's because of THIS motherfucker.

That's right. The Flipper-Flopper.

It seems to idolize an animal said to have flourished in ancient times, which may explain why it wears a mask to make itself look more like this creature.

That's its Grizzco Field Guide description. The fact its entire body and all of its movements are that of a dolphin, rather than a salmon, means that "idolizing" dolphins was enough to direct its evolution to resemble them, in the same way that the inkfish physically resemble humans, and all the sea-creature-people resemble humans in their mannerisms.

The fact that a salmon could rapidly evolve itself into the form of a dolphin through sheer willpower means that the Alterna-wish-crystals, or whatever it is that's causing such megaevolution in marine life, are capable of directing convergent evolution towards not just the human form, but any form the wish-bearer wants.

I therefore suggest that there may be salmon-birds, there may be Salmonids somewhere who, for example, idolise birds and thus mutated into beautiful fish-bird abominations.
