I thought it would be a good idea to put all of my Fma au Art that I have so far together! I hope everyone likes it!

The science of alchemy has a history of being used for nefarious purposes. But when secrets are revealed and weapons are drawn, it’s only a matter of time before powers such as Amestris, Creta, and Xing take part in Alchemic War.

An unexpected nationwide event has caused disaster and crisis across Amestris. It’s as if the ground itself began to crumble, like its hollow beneath. Nobody knows how the chain reaction of seismic events was started. However, some sources have stated the presence of a series of underground tunnels beneath Amestris territory.

The Fullmetal Alchemist has not yet returned to Central. He is currently attending to his automail engineer, whom is suffering from grievous injuries caused by the recent incident. It will likely be some time before the news of his brother’s supposed death reaches Resembool, but he is likely worried sick about him.

Slave #23 has returned home.

Laboratory 5 is only occupied by those who know of its secrets. Most of which are presumed dead to the general public.

Adult subjects:

Jerso (Last name unknown)- Human Chimera (Toad and Frogfish). Joined the military at age 19. All previous records have been effectively erased.

Zampano (Last name unknown)- Human Chimera (Razorback Boar and Hedgehog). Joined the military at age (Redacted). All previous records effectively erased.

Child subjects:

Alphonse Elric- Suit of Armor (Human soul sealed inside). Claims to be 14 years of age. (Physically died at age 10). (No military records found).

Nina Tucker- Human Chimera (Great Pyrenees). Experimentation began at age 5. (No military records found).

Name Unknown (“Violence” or “Lesser-Wrath”)- Homunculus (Artificially-created human). Age unknown. (No records of subject’s existence found).

The Mustang Unit has been forcefully disbanded. After their leader caught a glimpse of the happenings beneath Central City, he was promptly stripped of his rank and title. Only two of his former colleagues are still on duty in Central, but they will likely not cause any trouble. Riza Hawkeye is under the watchful eye of the Fuhrer, and Maes Hughes poses no threat to exposing what’s truly happening within Central.

Before the incident, the biggest news was that of the alchemist killer. The narrative was that he was an Ishvalan man with an X-shaped scar on his forehead out for revenge on the government that massacred his people.

However, now that Amestris has settled a bit more after the incident, the scarred man has returned, and he’s not alone. Word has spread of a second Ishvalan accompanying “Scar” (as the public has called him). This new accomplice is said to be missing his right arm. Some have also said that he may be the brother of Scar. However, this is all just speculation.

Since this reemergence, more uprisings have occurred in prominently military-occupied areas of Amestris.

The nationwide transmission circle has been activated too early. Father’s strength has been depleted by this incident. However, the homunculi have a new ally. One whom has lived almost as long as he has. One whom has created her own homunculi. One whom has opened the portal of Truth, and knows many of its secrets.

The boss has been reintegrated into Father’s ranks, much to his dismay. His greed and hunger for more has always made his position less than favorable for him. But this time, Father and his new supporter have taken extra measures to make sure he stays in line. He still acts like himself though. A suave, smug, piece of—

Heyyyy so this kinda got away from me. I really enjoyed @metamatronic 's hugh-munculous au, and I am in no way in control of it, don't take this as canon to their au, I just want the toddlers to have a playdate lol.

do you know how insane Scar and Al make me. do you understand. this interaction is only four pages long but it has some lines that make me absolutely lose my mind, like the "I don't need anyone's pity" bit, but also this. this is one of those moments that highlights the similarities between Scar and Al's situations. both of their older brother's sacrificed their right arm to keep them alive, leaving the two of them with a constant physical reminder of that sacrifice. Scar says Al's body is cursed, but really he's the one who feels cursed by what his brother's alchemy did for him. that right arm grafted onto him and the destruction it allows him to do is a horrible burden for him to bear, and he hates it, he feels like a monster. he cannot forgive alchemy for its part in his brother's death and he cannot see alchemy as anything other than a weapon.

Al, on the other hand -- he doesn't like being trapped in the armor, certainly. it sucks and that's made abundantly clear. but he doesn't let that hold him back. he doesn't hate alchemy and he doesn't hate what his brother did for him because he knows alchemy is not limited to this use. his situation sucks so bad, but he is constructive about it, he's going to use alchemy to make it better. he knows better than anyone that alchemy can dangerous, but it can also be constructive

which, coincidentally, is the exact arc Scar goes on

he learns to embrace his brother's alchemy, and quite literally embraces its constructive aspect by tattooing the construction tattoos on his arm. he embraces his brother's alchemy and uses his brother's sacrifice to save the whole country. just as Al said in that earlier exchange, he's not denying alchemy or his brother's hopes for the country anymore. do you understand why I'm frothing at the mouth over them

What are your thoughts on Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist (manga/Brotherhood)?

I have many thoughts on Scar, because I love him to pieces. Best character in both anime and manga

One thing that bothers me even among people who are staunchly pro "Scar did nothing wrong (except the one time when he was completely out of it due to immense trauma)" and "Scar should have been allowed to kill more people" , is that they completely overlook that Scar just doesn't enjoy killing people. He does it because he feels that those who denied his people the right to live would never face justice for their actions otherwise. And also because he's really, really mad at them of course. Actually the part about justice might be moreso the fandom's view of it, and Scar's desire for vengeance is his primary motivation(when you look at what he said while fleeing through the desert). So Scar feels he's doing what is necessary, but he doesn't usually take enjoyment out of it. The closest he came to show glee during a fight was when Mustang showed up to intervene in chapter 7/ episode 5. And that was more grim satisfaction than anything. He doesn't even show any joy when mangling Envy and Kimblee, who kickstarted the genocide and brutally murdered his family. Every action is trenched in anger, and that anger is born from tremendous pain and loss.

So Scar doesn't want to kill (or at least doesn't want his whole life to be centered arround it). He wants to protect. He wants to do something for his community, his people. But for the longest time he felt that he had lost the chance to do so forever. His immense relief at finding out how many Ishvalans had actually survived was wonderful to behold.

Now you might say "But he's doing the right thing by killing those unrependant war criminals! He shouldn't feel bad about it!" And while that's correct (at least from my perspective) you have to look at Scar's other circumstances too. It's not an enjoyable life if you spent your days solely focused on the people who brutalized you. And Scar is doing it all alone, with no help or support system. With no breaks from the struggle for survival and recurring death battles. It's good that he stopped killing (outside of the necessary battles), not because Edward and the other good guys kept whining at him, but for his own sake. Because he finally feels he's actually doing something for the people he loves again.

Anyhow, how painful is it that Scar who was afraid about his brother creating or turning into a human weapon via alchemy, became exactly that?

"Your brother may discover a way to gain enough power to face those state alchemists, and perhaps even enough to destroy their army. With power that far surpasses theirs, to retalitate against them with alchemy! Make them pay for their sins with blood!'

I'm crying.

Another great thing about Scar is that you can guilt trip this thirty something, hardened warrior with "You'll make your brother sad." And he has no proper reply for that.

To end this with my personal headcanon, Scar outlives all the remaining State Alchemists sans Edward, and dies aged 103 surrounded by his 20 grandchildren.
