[ Furina ]
"There's still cobwebs in the corners
And the backyard's full of bones
Won't you stay with me, my darling
When this house don't feel like home?"
You came down from the heavens weeks ago, knowing Fontaine is in danger but kept your head low and disguised yourself as a Fontainian to seek solutions to their prophecy. No one suspected you aside from the Vision wielders and a few Guardes who eventually left you alone since you seem to be harmless. You also manage to avoid any unpleasant encounters with your followers while roaming around the city.
Visiting Focalors in the opera house when no one was around was... rather an eventful one; she hopes you do not intervene with her plans to save her beloved people. You tried to reason with her: you are her god — you can forgive her and her people but she says it is her duty as Hydro Archon as prophecies cannot be changed. To pursue "justice", so to speak, is via the death of her and her throne.
You no longer attempt to pursue the topic which Focalors tacitly appreciates. Instead, you promised to look after her "human" self... Furina.
She smiles ever so graciously, knowing that such a divine being like you would keep Furina safe and sound - even after she meets her fate. You ask if you can hug Focalors, she happily accepts as this will be your first and last meeting her. You give most of your strength to hug her and you pull away, saying your tearful goodbye.
Everything went down according to her plan; watching scenes unfolding right before your eyes. Furina's trial was heart wrenching to watch, you want to jump and defend her... but this was all part of her "divine" self's plan. You shouldn't interfere, you reminded yourself, you clench your fists as the last puzzle of the prophecy reveals itself in front of you and the rest of the audience.
After the flooding in Fontaine died down and you let weeks pass by to let the country recover, you sought out Neuvillette. He is surprised to see you, easily seeing through your disguise. He bows before you and airs his concerns about Furina who had moved away from Palais Mermonia. You gently grab his hand and hold it in-between yours, telling him to stand up. You reassure that you'll be discreetly visiting Furina and the Hydro Sovereign gives you the address on where she currently lives.
During sunset, you found Furina cooped up in her new home. You knock and it took her a while before peeking through the small gap of the door. To put it lightly, her place is in disarray even when the gap of her door is small — her things are littered on the floor and she... doesn't look too good. She is far from well-presented and she looks like a ghost.
You can tell her eyes are red from crying and lack of sleep is evident on her unusually pale face. Her once kept hair's a mess and her clothes aren't well-presented like they usually do. Her hat is also nowhere to be found, it must've been included in the pile of mess scattered about her floorboards.
She weakly asks who you are and tells you that she doesn't accept visitors. You look around, making sure no one is around to see your transformation. Once you know the coast is clear, you transform into your normal self; soft glow emanating from your skin.
Once you are done dusting off your robes, Furina suddenly pulls you into her home and slams the door behind her - stuttering "Your Grace" under her breath and muttering how she's embarrassed that she's in a mess.
You turn around to speak and, instead, you are met with a tight hug from Furina. She buries her head into your shoulder and clutching onto your robes.
She doesn't understand why you hadn't come down from the heavens sooner... and you tell her Focalors wanted to do her part while you witnessed everything. She remained silent for a while before letting out a few sobs. You finally let your arms wrap around her; like a parent hugging their long-lost child.
To calm her down, you sing a song you know from the depths of your heart; the one that is ingrained to the forefronts of your mind even as a child. You alternate between singing and humming while gently running your hand up and down on Furina's back.
Her sobs subside as the last lyric of the song leaves your lips. She wipes her tears away with her hands and regains her composure. She pulls her head away from your shoulder, her eyes yet to look at your direction.
"My apologies for seeing me in such a state, Your Grace." She says, her voice slightly above a whisper, "And ...That's a wonderful song you've sung. I... appreciate it..."
She sniffles; it reminded you when you were a kid. You smile at the fond memory.
"The song was sung to calm me down by my caretakers." You say, "I suppose it still holds its charm."
She lets out a weak chuckle and meets your eyes, "I... Thank you, Your Grace."
"For what?" You inquired despite knowing the answer. She pulls you into another hug, you could've sworn you had seen her genuinely smiling for the first time.
"For being here with me." She says, a small spark of joy coming from her voice, "For seeing the 'real' me."
As she hums your song, you hold each other close until the sun finally sets from the horizon.

What was justice?
Focalors had asked herself that question many times during the long nights she spends awake pouring over the prophecy of a dead God, words replaying in her mind like a broken record until the sun rose like a blooming flower.
She was the God of Justice, an Archon, yet she herself lacked the answer to such a simple and yet so very complex question.
How does one define what is just and what is not? How does she know that what she believes to be just is right? Is it justice if one being alone may sway the scales of justice on a whim? What justice is there to be found in the cold, watery grave that awaits her nation?
She does not know.
Perhaps she may never know.
What she does know, at least, is that this is not justice.
It is a mockery of it.
She stands before the bloodied, broken body like the judge, her sword held so tightly in her hand her fingers feel stiff, a dull ache adding to the weight of what she's seen. For a long, horrible moment she almost thinks they are dead – something she would have reveled in, only a day prior – before she sees the subtle rise and fall of their chest. Breathing, but barely.
The rain felt heavier upon her shoulders at the realization – she was not sure if it was in relief or horror.
Her nails dig into her palm, mind stuck somewhere between that abject horror and confusion so palpable she swore she could hear the gears in her head turning.
For a long, silent moment as she stares upon the body beneath the heavy rain..she wonders if this is how it all ends instead. If the world itself will simply crumple in on itself and cease – without its heart, it will wither, after all – long before the waters ever swallow her nation whole.
Because, try as she might to rationalize it, for every drop of rain that hits her like pins and needles, soaking her down to the bone..the body of the imposter is completely dry. Even the water pooling along the stones dares not to leave so much as a splotch against their ragged, torn clothes.
She remembers the meeting so very clearly, and she thinks she is a fool to not have noticed sooner – the Creator upon their gilded throne, finger pointed in accusation at the visage far too similar to their own. The imposter. She remembers the lilt of their voice as they called for their death as easily as one would speak of the weather – and to no one other then herself would she admit the spark of fear it had ignited within her. Because beneath the divine charade there was a sick enjoyment in the way they looked upon the imposter – like a bug beneath their shoe.
She understands, now.
She had thought that perhaps finally – finally – she could do right by her people, by her Creator, if she rid Teyvat of this..intrusion.
Now she sees herself as what it all really is – blind lambs following the herder.
Perhaps she would be considered a heretic under the eyes of the law – beneath the weight of justice, heavy as the heart that bears its sins. Perhaps this is a mistake, one she would come to regret.
But for now, she sheathes her blade with unsteady hands, the sound making her ears ring – for what she had almost done, what she had already done – as she stumbles like a newborn lamb towards the broken body of..
..What, exactly? Human? Divine? She is not so sure what to call them. Creator? No. The name is bitter upon her tongue, now, burning like liquid flame down her throat.
Where once she had spoken it in reverence and admiration, it felt hollow and empty, now.
Her vision wavers as she kneels down against the rain soaked stones, the rain upon her back growing heavier as she reaches a shaky hand forth – and for a moment, however brief, she feels the weight of expectation, of a title she fears she may never live up to, wash away with the waters that fall from the heavens.
The bruises and blood smeared across their skin are like strokes of a paintbrush, their body the canvas from which such horrid art is created. It makes her ill.
Doubt wavers her composure briefly – her position is already unsteady. She has never been seen as an equal to many of the other Archons. Her own people do not see her as their Archon, but an actor in a grand play that they shall simply toss aside and replace like a broken doll the moment she bores them.
What does she have left to lose?
She reaches out again, her hand settling onto their shoulder and turning them onto their back. She..isn't sure what to do, actually. She's never been particularly physically capable – she tended to avoid fights, even if she oft provoked them – and she was certainly no healer.
Yet what choice does she have but to march on anyway? She is in the heart of the city, it is far more dangerous here then anywhere else..she had little time to make her move.
Fontaine was, after all, a nation founded on the principle of justice. To know an injustice has been made against the most Divine..the entire nation was in a frenzy.
Her eyes dart around nervously, hands clasped tight on their shoulders and her lips drawn into a taut line – someone would notice her absence. One of the Archons would point out her absence in the coordination of the search.
Her options were just as limited as her time – she couldn't just take them out of the city. Security was tight, and as much as she fancied herself an escape artist – Neuvillette could hardly keep her in one place for too long – she doubted she could do the same with the limp body of the imposter in tow.
..The Palais Mermonia it was, then.
Her room had a secret entrance that few knew about, and even fewer would dare to traverse. She just..had to hide them there for a bit and hope Neuvillette wouldn't notice anything different.
Probably.
Still, there was the problem of actually..transporting the body. As grim as it sounded. Her only solace was the fact she didn't have to worry about them catching a cold, at least, and their breaths were still audible, if only barely. So she had to resort to some..unexpected methods.
Seeing the limp form of, well, the imposter – she'd really have to ask for something else to call them when they woke up – stuck in a bubble of hydro wasn't exactly on her bucket list.
Then again, neither was treason.
Well, first time for everything, right?
It wasn't breaking the law if no one else knew about it.
..Neuvillette didn't have to know about it, really. It was fine.
She could, of course, technically try to talk some sense into Neuvillette – he'd listen to her, right? She thought she was pretty close with him..but he was also the one person more obsessed with justice then she was. Such a stickler for the law..so maybe she's breaking a few, it's fine.
But he was also pretty devout, as much as he tried to keep his worship private – with Focalors around, nothing was really secret. Maybe she could get him to settle down long enough to prove it.
..How was she going to prove it?
An exaggerated groan escaped her lips as she led the bubbled imposter – she really wished she didn't have to resort to that, it would be a lot a more awkward to explain then dragging the body around – through the winding streets of Fontaine. She's just glad she's already memorized the entire city like the back of her hand..and a little dramatics went a long way. People listened when the Hydro Archon spoke, and she was suddenly very, very glad for that fact, even if they treated her more like a mascot then a God.
And partially because she, maybe, just a little..stole a few documents detailing the layout and a little personal exploration of her own – but what Neuvillette didn't know couldn't hurt him!
After what felt like hours, though was really no more then half an hour at best, she'd managed to drag herself – soaked to the bone with rain – and the conveniently bubbled imposter up through the secret entrance and into her room.
The perceived safety, as flimsy as it was, was..comforting. Until she heard the rustle of fabric, the clearing of a throat and the pop of a bubble as she, in her surprise, popped it – and then the thud of the imposter hitting the floor.
She felt a bit of regret about that part, at least, wincing.
"Lady Furina." His voice was as sharp and cool as she remembered it always being – like fresh spring water, she'd heard it described. Soothing. It did not feeling very soothing right about now.
She turned sharply on her heel, a forced smile tugging at her lips on reflex, every muscle in her body tensed – she probably looked like a wet cat right about now, soaked with rain, but that was the last thing on her mind.
"Do you mind explaining what, exactly, you did?" Not what you're doing, she notes – what she did. He was mad. Oh, she was really in for a scolding now. She twiddled her thumbs, laughing weakly, though it quickly dies out at the awkward, tense silence.
"Well, you see – it's rather complicated! I can– I can explain." Her attempts to diffuse are met with a raised brow and the sharp tap of his cane. Every single thought is plagued with the urge to run, but the unsteady breathes of the 'imposter' keep her rooted in place. "Well?"
She was sweating bullets, her nails digging into her palm as she scrambled for any excuse that could warrant her not getting hauled off and scolded thoroughly at best – she was coming up empty. How was she supposed to prove that the 'imposter' was very much not what the 'Creator' said they were? Their unconscious body was doing no one any favors, certainly.
"The Creator is lying," She blurts out, immediately regretting her impulsiveness when she feels the sudden weight of his stare – the piercing hues of his eyes that remind her just who is the strongest between them. It is not her, she knows. It never has been. "You can see for yourself! Don't you trust me, Neuvillette–?"
Her voice is cut off by the sharp click of his cane as he strides across the room in only a few steps, his height making her feel like a child about to scolded. She hated it, but she grit her teeth through the exchange. She reminded herself that this was for the sake of the 'imposter' and any affront to her ego was..tolerable.
To her credit, too, she didn't immediately lash out when she saw him poke at their body with his cane, turning them onto their back – she wanted too, though. She considered it, but the thought was quickly shot down when his stare turned back upon her, and she felt frozen in place again, her tongue a heavy weight in her mouth.
Yet she couldn't shake the sudden tenseness to his shoulders, his brows furrowed and a distant look to his eyes. It was..haunting, in a way.
She knows it well, she realizes. The realization and acceptance, the crumbling of every solid foundation you've ever known – leaving you to flounder in the waves, alone and afraid.
The gentleness in which he picks up the limp body surprises her though, his cane set aside. The rain howls like a horrid storm outside, but she cannot focus on anything but the furrow of their brows, the soft noise that escapes their lips.
"I trust that you know that this must stay between us," His voice is soft, like the gentle lap of waves against the shore, as he sets their body down against the bed, his hand lingering against their cheek with something almost like reverence – and if her eyes do not deceive her, affection. "Lady Furina."
She does not hesitate to agree.
"Well– well of course!" She huffs, crossing her arms over her chest and frowning at the feeling of her wet clothes clinging to her skin, a heavy weight that feels like it's dragging her down. "Just what do you take me for?"
He doesn't deign to respond.
It only makes her fume more.
Not that he seems to notice, unbuttoning his heavy outerwear and tossing it on the bed, rolling up his sleeves and focusing on the injured– er..yeah, she really needed a new name for them. Calling them imposter felt wrong.
"So long as you understand, then we will have no problems." She huffs again, pouting and puffing up her cheeks, sitting down on the other end of the bed with only an occasional glance towards him as he worked at peeling away the ragged clothes and examining the injuries marring their skin.
She suddenly felt out of place.
..What was she supposed to be doing?
As if noticing her sudden quietness, Neuvillette sighed, his back turned to her though his attention very much falling upon her. She really hated the feeling like she was being dissected whenever he looked at her. It was unnerving. She doesn't know how anyone else handles it..
"If you are so eager to do something, Lady Furina, then please have something brought up for when our..guest awakens. They will need to recover their strength."
Finally! Something she can do. She perks up, her heels clicking on the floorboards as she darts out like a bullet, unable to stay still for so much as a moment.
Neuvillette, for his part..
Feels an odd sense of serenity as he stares upon the troubled features of the..guest. A peace that lessens the burdens upon his shoulders, the weight of a nation upon his back.
He cannot hear the rain, anymore.
..It must have stopped.

Spoilers for 4.0 Fontaine archon quest, pov switches, co-dependency & obsession, hints of soft yandere
Tumblr media
“I’m not quite sure when it began, but a prophecy has been circulating around Fontaine: the people will all be dissolved into the waters, and only the hydro archon will remain, weeping on her throne.”
This has become a fact for the Fontaine people, with the water levels slowly rising and consuming parts of the nation. Everyone has different opinions on this- some ignore it, deciding to live in the moment- surely they’ll be long gone before water consumes the whole nation, some believe it’ll be like returning to their origins, and some dread it- how horrible must it be to dissolve into water and possibly lose themselves forever?
But mostly, the Fontaine people have been resigned to it, and gone about their day as normal. The water levels were rising pretty slowly, anyways, so it wasn’t their problem yet. Or it wouldn’t be, if the rising water was still moving at the same pace. However…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
☆ 1 WEEK BEFORE THE DUEL ☆
Your awakening is a gentle one.
Or, atleast, it is for about a minute or two before you realize you’re underwater. You panic, scrambling around like a fumbling idiot for another two minutes before you finally get your wits about you and realize that you are, in fact, not drowning and are breathing like normal even though you’re underwater? Unfortunately, along with that realization comes the fact that you… well, where even are you?
You take in your surroundings. Ignoring the fact that you’re underwater for some reason, it’s actually… very pretty. There isn’t a single piece of litter in sight, and you don’t have a hard time seeing, as the water is clear and beautiful. An underwater cliff arches a few miles behind you. The lush ocean ground beneath you splits apart and a trench can been seen below it that splits into multiple different paths leading even deeper under the ocean. The ocean floors and cliffs are lush and foliage is all around you, ranging from huge and tall stocks of plants resembling a mix between flower stems and lilypads to areas with plants the color of autumn leaves. Fish can be seen almost everywhere- crabs that glowed a mesmerizing blue, tiny tidalage, seals splotted in pastel colors, groups of fishing swimming together, and more.
The clear, litter free ocean, bright foliage, and adorable pastel creatures make for an idealized version of an ocean. And, surprisingly, they seem familiar somehow.
Wait…
You give the seals nuzzling you one last pet, and make your way to the surface of the water.
You surface. Huge mountains with colorful foliage surround the ocean. A beautiful city can be seen in the distance, with some ships floating near it. Some sort of bridge can be seen running from the city and through the mountains. It goes so far that it disappears from your line of sight.
Oh.
Oh. Your guess was right. You’re in Fontaine. You stay there for a bit, astonished. You push that to the back of your mind, you’ll deal with it later. But first, did you still have your inventory? You cross your fingers- please, please, please! Archons, you spent so much money getting all those weapons and characters and so much time just farming materials and artifacts. You shudder at the thought of losing all your progress. You’ve already checked the banners, and they’re the same as usual, so you close your eyes, trying your hardest to imagine opening your inventory and-
Huh? What? You are, once again, astonished. You close your inventory and open it again- maybe its just a glitch? Or maybe you’re delirious. You open it again. Nope. Nothing’s changed.
When did you have all these characters- you’re pretty sure some of these characters haven’t even become playable yet. And all these weapons? Wait, how good is your artifact luck? How is this possible? Are you gonna be banned for hacking? Can you even be banned if you’re actually in the game?
You slowly close the inventory once again, still in shock.
Surely this is a dream, right? Yeah! It’s just a lucid dream, even if it feels so realistic.
You decide to spend your time exploring and petting more animals- maybe even meeting some characters! Who knows when you’ll be able to dream like this again.
Yep. Just a dream. You’re just dreaming, thats all.
Tumblr media
☆ 1/2 WEEK BEFORE THE DUEL ☆
Dozens of rain droplet streak down the stained glass windows of Nuevilette’s office. Jazz plays, alongside the sounds of a heavy downpour of rain and the ticking of the clocks in the office. He finishes flipping through the files and leans back in his padded chair. He hasn’t been able to do much work these couple of days, always anticipating the familiar feeling of warmth flooding into his body and being guided to do things, but it never came, and with that realization, the rain had started to pour even harder.
Had you finally abandoned him? Had he not concealed his feelings well enough? Were You able to see through his facade? Had You finally noticed his concealed feelings whenever he saw You guiding the ever so immature Furina, or doing exploring the city with Navia? How the corner of his lips would curl down every so slightly whenever You took the warden, Wriothesley, to go ice-briding when You felt bored, one-shot bosses with the Champion Duelist Clorinde for fun, or farmed for talent materials for the magician triplets?
He may not understand humans and their emotions, but even he knows what these feelings are. So, he promises that he’ll stop soaking in jealousy or anger when you fawn over the two Fatui Harbingers or anything of that sort. Just… come back to him. Don’t abandon him. Comfort him like You always do. Praise him, praise his appearance, praise his personality, please come back, he needs You.
But he knows that You haven’t abandoned him. You’re still here, in fact, Your presence is stronger than ever, and the whole of Teyvat is flourishing, almost like its in celebration of something. So, where are You?
Neuvillette sighs, standing from his chair. He’d better check on Furina- who knows what she may be doing without your guidance. As he starts to walk to the door, his long tailcoat brushes against his desk, making a file that was buried beneath all the others fall down, onto the ground. It’s contents sprawl on the floor.
He bends down, picking up the papers and placing them back into the file. As he does, he skims over the contents.
He frowns. Could it be true?

☆ 2 DAYS BEFORE THE DUEL ☆
People are whispering, and Focalor is frozen in place.
The whispering grows louder. She can make out hushed and anxious tones.
“What’s she doing just standing there? How disrespectful.” She hears.
She snaps out of her state of awe, and tries to take grasp of the situation. Unfortunately, in her panic, she says the first thing that comes to mind.
“Imposter!”
Tumblr media
☆ 1 DAY BEFORE THE DUEL ☆
“And what do you say to these claims?” Nuevillette asks, snapping ‘The Imposter’ out of their stupor.
“No.” ‘The Imposter’ says.
Nuevillette frowns, “no? I ask that you elaborate.”
“How am I supposed to defend myself if I don’t even know what I did wrong?” ‘The Imposter’ reasons, still not fully processing the situation.
“Hah! Trying to act dumb won’t work here. You know what you did!” Focalor interjects. Truthly, this situation had come to be because of her carelessness and now it had spiralled way out of her control. She can’t take back what she said now, so she’d had to pray for the best. She dug her grave, so she might as well lie in it and hope for the best. I mean, surely it was fine, right? Surely this is an imposter. “If you can’t defend yourself in court, than you might as well duel to prove your innocence.
“I- huh? Alright, then.” ‘The Imposter’ says, not seeing any other choice. “I request a duel, I guess.”
“Very well, your request is accepted. You will be dueling against Clorinde tomorrow at dawn.” Nuevillette says.
People slowly filter out of the court room in anticipation for the day of the duel.
Focalor has a sinking feeling in her gut.
Tumblr media
☆ THE DAY OF THE DUEL ☆
Clorinde sits at the harbor, too ashamed to watch over The Creator.
The duel had lasted no more than one or two minutes. The Creator had made no move to fight back, and Clorinde had made quick work of Them. It was only when she had made her way over to Them to end Their life when she noticed the ichor that spilled from Their many wounds. Her heart sunk into her chest. In a panic, she screamed for doctors. She had tried her best to keep Them awake, but They had already fallen unconscious by the time the doctors arrived.
Obviously, The Creator was still alive- who knew what would happen to Teyvat if The Creator, Themselves, Died. But she couldn’t get the image of their unconscious form out of her mind. The sin she’d committed weighed her down like the anchor of a boat.
She sighed, standing up shakily, starting the walk back to the city and…
Wait. Was the water level always this high?
Oh.
Oh.

it goes without saying .. furina is ecstatic. i mean.. why wouldn’t she be? she wouldn’t make this known, however, because “of course you’re going to wish to capture my enthralling beauty on paper — it’s only fair when faced with such divine radiance!” inside.. she’s a mess. her widened eyes flit over every tiny detail, every little stroke of the pen or paintbrush. “enthralling beauty”, she says, “divine radiance”, she says — but is she truly talking about herself or the way you interpreted her? never in all the centuries she’d been alive would she admit this, but she couldn’t help but feel as if you had made her look much more ethereal than she truly was. she does make it known that she likes it, though. when you turn away from her and murmur something about how you’re not the most proud of this particular piece, she scoffs indignantly. “what? how— ugh, how could you ever say such a thing? do you dare question my judgement?!” she leans back against the couch, hardly able to focus on the taste of the small pastry half-eaten in her hand. she’s incredibly grateful it’s only you two alone, because she has an entirely embarrassing blush upon her face as she chews.

“.. seriously?” he kind of just.. glares at it. i’m sorry, but i don’t really know what you were expecting. depending on the kind of mood he’s in, he’ll either simply cast it aside without a second glance or attempt to mockingly chew you out over it. it doesn’t matter whether he actually likes it or not; he is not going to let you live it down. he’s not amused, but i can’t really imagine him actually getting upset about it either. he’ll scoff, maybe roll his eyes if he’s feeling generous enough, then go about his day without another thought to it. even with his nonchalant, near-annoyed demeanor over the whole thing, when you’ve left and he’s alone — he looks for it again and stares at it like he didn’t get to before. as his eyes travel the lines that form a quite accurate depiction of his visage — implying you spent a lot of time looking at him — he can’t help but wonder why, of all people, you chose him as your muse. he does.. appreciate the sentiment, though, even if he’ll never voice it. he catches himself before he spirals. it doesn’t matter, he reminds himself. with a huff, he sets it down again and crosses his arms, trying to ignore the fact it does indeed make him feel.

if you were expecting anything other than freminet being an absolute mess.. you’d be sorely mistaken. of course, he’s not upset at all. he’s just.. very, very embarrassed. he loves your art, he does. he doesn’t want you to misconstrue this, and makes sure you know it’s not your problem, but his own. make sure to reassure him. the moment he lays his eyes upon it, it’s evident; his eyes widen almost comically, and, suddenly, he has the surely inexplicable urge to run for his life. that wouldn’t be fair to you, though, so he bites it back and forces himself to stay put. the gears whir in his mind like he’s a piece of the machinery he holds so dear. he doesn’t know how to thank you — should he thank you? he doesn’t know what to say at all, more like. he clears his throat, unable to get any words out; his mouth goes dry and his heart practically beats out of his chest, all the while he’s looking just as frozen in time as your rendition of him. he lets out an audible sigh of relief when you reassure him that he doesn’t need to speak. he can’t handle you when you stare at him like this, and asks if you’d be okay with him putting on his diving helmet. once you’ve given him your permission — which you reiterate he doesn’t need — he quickly places it over his head, letting out a soft sigh of relief when you can no longer see his face. his gaze doesn’t leave the art, not for a moment. he stands still and stares at it, unable to tear his eyes away from the lines that, somehow, paints a clear picture of.. him. that you made. he still does not make any move to talk, and he’s very glad that you’re so understanding. eventually, he murmurs an apology, and through the lump in his throat, reassures you that (if there was ever any doubt), he likes it.
neuvillette
it was raining. it had been raining all day. naturally, this worried you, and your first thought was to check up on neuvillette. exhausted yet unchanging, neuvillette sifted through his paperwork without taking a single break to rest. however, all things must, and eventually, his tire overcame him — letting out a sigh, he placed his palm upon his forehead and leaned into it, his eyes fluttering closed. it took him a moment to open them again, but when he finally did.. after such a long day, eyes sore with the strain of reading fine print jammed together so thickly the pages looked more inky than ivory, the last thing he expected was to see was a piece of blank paper on his desk. curious, he picks it up and flips it over, assuming it to be more writing on the other side — only to be met with.. himself, staring right back at him. the neuvillette now is slightly slouched over, eyes drooping with the weight of an unrelenting week. he’s unable to see his true reflection — in a mirror or water, not a near-perfect version of him on paper — so he couldn’t really tell, but even so, he can’t help but feel as if this version of him must appear much more composed. he pushes the thought away, stares at the piece a bit closer, and he eases a bit. not only was it a splendid break to the monotony of monochromatic paperwork, it was made by you. it’s now that you walk into the room. in a split second, you realize what he’s holding. you blink. he smiles, gentle and soft. the rain stops pouring.

“You’re all Demons. I rule you all.”
Tumblr media
Summary: The Archons are not the most powerful, nor is Celestia.
Pairing: Genshin Archons x Male!Reader
Warnings: Slight SAGAU creator themes, manipulative reader, unhealthy power dynamics, controlling reader, Furnia slander
The creator is not one to be looked down upon. Yet, over the thousands of years, everyone and even the archons have forgotten them. No shrines, offerings or worshippers have been founded.
Well, they should know that the creator does not take lightly to what they have done. They have eyes everywhere, and knows everything that is going on.
“Pathetic pathetic pathetic! Such a bore!”, they said. His voice ran through the ears of the archons and the heavens themselves. “I give them stories, backgrounds, and such titles to use for a better Teyvat. And yet, they are so boring to not even use them! Ugh! Execution would have been better!”
His insults came one after the other, and the gods heard them all. “This throne is not for them. It is mine and mine alone.” Every word was heard the archons, well, almost every word. The creator chose what they can and can’t hear.
“Perhaps I should pay them a visit.”
And that is how they came to Mondstadt. Home of freedom and wine, ‘ruled’ by the Barbatos. But when he stepped into the city, he could tell the god has been slacking off. No rules, no disciplines, and no official government. Just a military force that can be called a military force.
He went to the acting Grandmaster Jean, who was stunned to see such a being. “Tell me, where is Barbatos. I wish to speak with him.”
“Y-you mean Venti? He’s probably at the Angel’s Share.”
To the tavern he went and indeed the bard sat, almost drunk out of his mind as he round after round.
“Venti is it?” The stern voice came. The bard was quickly shocked to his core to the same voice. “Mind if we have a word?”
Outside behind the tavern, Venti was on his knees. Practically begging for forgiveness. “Please! I’m sorry! I promise to-”
“To what? I barely see any shrines of me. Why should they worship you when you have abandoned your responsibilities? Should I send you back to the hells with you?” His voice stood with no room for negotiations or retaliations.
“No! Please! I’ll do better!” The bard begged. Tears were threatening to spill.
“Don’t forget from where you came from. You can change forms, you can’t change your eyes.” With a snap of his fingers, Venti’s eyes begin to burn. Black surrounded his pupils as he shut them in agony.
“That’s better. Your true colors are better.”
Venti bowed his head as he could do nothing but except the truths. The truth of his own freedom has been revealed for all to see.
“I have others to see to. Perhaps I should take a round trip to see all of them. See you my dear Zephyr.”
His next stop was Liyue, what a great city built on the coast. He had heard that their god was dead.
“What a load of bullshit. Trying to escape responsibilities to? Too fucking bad.”
Up on a mountain is where he found the retired geo archon. Or rather, Morax.
“Nice view no? Now I know why you liked building mountains so much.” Zhongli turned around to see the unfamiliar, his face said it all.
“Who are you? How do you know my identity?”
“Aw. Little pup. Looks like your leash needs a tightening.” He made a gesture which was pulling an invisible chain, which made Zhongli fall towards him.
“You…it’s you. Why are you here?” The archon’s eyes widen to the realization.
“I’m disappointed in you. No shrines, no worship, nothing in my name. Do I need to send you back to the hells? I would be glad to do so. The others are always asking ‘Where’s Morax?’ ‘Oh I wish I can play with Morax again. Where is he?’ Do you remember?”
A wide smile took his face as he saw the other’s face drop. He did indeed remember.
Zhongli fell to his knees remembering the years of torment. In his youth, he didn’t listen. “Please. Don’t. I beg of you.”
He tched. “Oh Morax. Don’t beg. It’s not a good look on you. I suppose you are retired after all, but you do have quite the influence no? Why not put that to use? Remember the contract you signed with me?”
Of course he remembers. It was the first contract he ever made. But he was one who signed it. To this day, the contract was kept under lock and key. “Yes…” Was all he said.
“Good. You can hide your identity, but you can’t hide your chains.” A snap of his fingers, shackles appeared on the archon’s wrists and ankles. Heavy like lead they were. Binding him down to earth, to his contract.
“Reminds me of old days! What joy! Say hi to the adepti for me! I’m sure they missed me oh so much!”
He then disappeared and left Zhongli there with chains for all to see. Bound to unspoken of words.
Inazuma was a nation he kept hearing bad things about. What had the archon done to be hated so much? At least the borders were open now, seems that forever can’t be forever.
“Oh Ei. The eternity you wanted was the gluttony of control you wished you had right?”
Locked away in her palace, in the heart of the city, Ei sat with her eyes closed.
“Beezlebub. How nice it is to see you again? Did you miss me?”
Ei was startled and her hand went to her polearm, ready to attack where the voice came from. “How did you come in here? Who let you in?”
“After all these years, you are still the same. Eternity truly doesn’t change you does it? Your gluttony will never be satisfied will it? What would your sister say?” The words came flowing out one after the other, he did not even have to think as he spoke. He knew exactly what to say.
“You-!” Ei pounced forward, the tip of her weapon stopping at his throat. One wrong move and he would be harmed, but he knew she wouldn’t, her arm was shaking after all.
“You close your borders, take the people’s visions. Were you so afraid of change that you wanted an illusion control that you never had. Pathetic.” Ei begin to tremble as she heard such words, but there was nothing she can do. He was her superior after all, this would be a death sentence if she tried to fight him.
“No worshippers of me, no shrines, not even a fucking thank you to me for giving you these islands.” A laugh left his lips as he thought of it.
“You can hide away in your plain, but you can’t hide from the true reality outside your door.” A snap of his fingers, Makoto’s body dropped in front of her. Her eternity in the open for all to see.
A smirk overtook his features. “Remember, she’s in my hands. You are more than welcome to join her, but…I don’t think I will. Your eternity will be spent in the same gluttony of control, until you are swallowed whole.”
The archon fell to her knees, just like all the others. “Please. Wait..I’m sorry..”
“Aw. Don’t beg. You all look so pathetic while doing it. I made you all better than this. But here you all are, no backbone to be seen. Which, I can see why.” Makoto’s body disappeared as Ei was starting to shed tears.
Moving to crouch down to her level, his lips next to her ear. “Once you die, you will be in the same eternity you wanted. You will know what it is like to be forever unchanging.”
Getting back to the mainland across an entire ocean was not fun. Even when he was stepping through the air, it still took a long time. Next nation was Sumeru. Nahida was the one archon he liked, she always knew what was going on.
Not to mention, she was a victim herself. But the real reason was that she had kept the shrines the former archon had built in his name, and the people still worshipped him to this day.
“I have expected you.” Came the small voice, her back was turned as she showed no hostility or fear to the one that walked towards her.
“Buer.” However, his respect her Nahida only went so far. Her chains were just a bit less…drastic.
“Seems like your people have finally changed their minds. Still chained to the evermore knowledge I see.” He stated, a laugh was held back.
"It is something I have much time for. I do not mind if the chains are the ones that I like." Nahida responsed.
"Then I wish you good luck. You are only 500 years old after all, you have all the time in Teyvat for this." Waving over his shoulder as he left the sanctum which the younger archon stayed in.
The next nation is one he has known to hate, or rather, hate the heavenly principles for. For as long as he had seen, the dragons and vishaps were the natives that they had decided to usurp for power. And Fountaine was one of these, 500 years of a fake god and authority taking the throne. While the true ruler was cast aside.
He sat one foot into the Nation and he already hears the annoying voice of the 'archon', really wish she could really shut up already. "Oh! So you are here after all! Welcome! I, welcome you to my beautiful nation!"
He did not say anything, but rather he stared up at her and gave her a glare; even from that distance she could see it and knew he was not here for a friendly visit. "I will see you in your office Furina."
When he got there, he was greeted with someone else. The Hydro Dragon, the rightful ruler of these lands. "Neuvillette."
"Your Grace." He bowed, still addressing him the same way just all the those years ago. And most likely, the only one left that still does so. Furina then came into the office, a look of fear in her eyes.
"Furina, how...unpleasant to see you." Hearing the words, she looked more dejected than she already did.
"Please. If you're going to say it then just say it."
"Fine." He sat down on one of the fancy armchairs that sat around the room.
"Just because you are forced to play a role for 500 years does not mean you get sympathy from me, should have thought of that before your archon usurped him." Making a hand gesture towards Neuvillette.
"You're sad that you had to play a role you did not want against your will? You know what we call that? The real world. Wake the fuck up if you think the world owes you anything just because of that. Have you even taken a look around you at the people for this many years? Their lives are filled with doing things they don't want, and it's a different thing every time. You do one same thing and you think can get sympathy? Maybe from Neuvillette sure, but not me. And when you finally die and fade out from this world and nobody remembers you, you will appear in my halls begging for my attention. I will not spare a single thing for you." A stone cold expression sat on his features.
The room was tense, Furina was on the verge of tears. Neuvillette held a worried face as he wanted to comfort her, but from one hand gesture from his creator, he stayed his feet and did not move.
"An arch duke of hell? Please. You can barely get out of heaven. You want to fall into infernal blaze so bad that you need to fool a crime to get casted out? Pathetic." He spat.
He stood up and walked out the door, Neuvillette followed after him.
"What is it?" His tone was eager as he had somewhere else to be.
"Your Grace, please rethink of it. Lady Furina is in pain, after 500 years, she is bound to have some sort problems with it all." He pleaded.
"Aw~, bound to the chains of justice like she is. I did not create you this way."
"..." Neuvillette was at a lost for words.
"Fine. She can keep her role and not appear in my halls after her timely death, that's for her immortal side of things. But once she is one more mortal, she will still die, and I will know to give her a quick death." A smile took over, like he was saying this was the better action.
"W-what? How is that-"
"Unless you want her to die right now? I can make that happen."
"No, Your Grace."
"Good. She would make such a pretty corpse."
Silence took the space between the two of them, a sea of mist and fog was slowly putting distance between them.
"Everyone on this side of the world are demons. I rule you all."

Part two of this
I'm glad you all like this so much! Although I'm still not sure where this story is going. I don't plan out my stories before I write..
I just kinda vomit up whatever words are in my brain
And that was that.
The Oratrice had made its decision.
  You were innocent.
Gasps and quiet murmurs echo throughout the Opera House, confusion spreading rapidly. Even you're surprised at the verdict. Innocent? You thought that machine judged people based on peoples' beliefs, or something.
Focalors sputters in confusion and shock, but quickly shuts her mouth before she can say anything too stupid.
The Oratrice always makes the final decision— if you're innocent, you're innocent.
Regardless, with the trial now over, you awkwardly stand from your seat, and sneak out of the Opera Epiclese. You aren't completely sure what you'll do now– you don't have any Mora, nor would you be safe in any other nation— however, you're sure you'll find something out. Maybe you can go underwater, and search for some of those triangle-shaped-Mora-machine thingys..
Before you can further think about how you're broker than the archons, soft footsteps clack behind you, followed by a calm, soft voice.
"(Entering chat mode) Are you alright? You've been standing there for nearly 10 whole minutes." Lynette.

Self Aware Stuff with my Favorite Characters
A/N: Some headcanons I made based on some things I do while playing and how I think some characters could react. Maybe OOC, because idk how to write (i have 0 experience) and english is not my first language.
Wanderer could be flabbergasted if you Co-op with a Raiden main/someone who uses Raiden. Not because he's seeing his creator after all this time (that's also a reason), but because the other player keeps making Raiden look at him. As Raiden looks at him with curiosity because “who’s this guy? and why does he look so tense?”, Wanderer curses you under his breath.
I feel like Lyney would be very happy if you have an exclusive team for him and his siblings (yes, only three characters, who needs a fourth anyway?). Just, him and his siblings on adventures around Teyvat :3 Although, if any of them are underleveled, he won't be as happy (what if they get hurt? Level them up, dude!).
If you put music on while playing, I think that Furina would be quite interested. Like, imagine if you put something like “Duet” from Omori (dies crying), she would be quite immersed in listening until the end. You might even hear her say something like "Not bad" during her idle animation.
If you are one of those who talk a lot during quests, I feel that Heizou would be more than interested in listening to you (especially during Fontaine's quest). Like, if you're frustrated by some characters' actions and you're talking to basically no one, Heizou would be listening and giving his own opinion in his mind.
Man, writing sure is hard lmao

Part two to my previous Focalor ask
So we've established that The creator ADORES Focalor.
So when her execution happens... The creator is DEVASTATED. Teyvat floods for months and rains for almost a year. As though teyvat is crying with the creator. And the rain from the creator far surpasses neuvillette's. And the entire time the creator is in the abyss.... And regardless, their tears never stop. Their GRIEF doesn't stop. And never once do they come out of the abyss… not once. Not to eat (because you know damn well there isnt organic life in the abyss). Not to drink. Nor to interact with the other archons. They don't come out. Not for centuries.
Well dang. Depression be hitting hard bro.
Creator plz, get a therapist—I AM BEGGING YOU YOU ARE GOING TO GIVE FONTAINE A HEART ATTACK AND FOCALORS'S SPIRIT WILL NEVER BE HAPPY WITH THIS CONCLUSION LIKE COME ON BRO
FOCALORS SACRIFICED HERSELF TO SAVE HER NATION AND HERE'S YOU DROWNING THE WHOLE OF TEYVAT—

Justice is blind
Warning: Contains imagery of execution
"Order! Order in the court!"
With a slam of the gavel, Furina silenced the rowdy courtroom.
As the restless jury and witnesses settled down, the Hydro Archon cleared her throat.
"Citizens of Fontaine!" Her usually authoritative voice showed signs of eagerness in it.
"Before you stands a criminal, nay, a heretic, with a crime so heinous that no court on Teyvat has a sentence for it: the taking of the All Divine's face!"
With a wave of her hand, the curtains surrounding the defendant's table unfurled themselves back to reveal a bound figure, kneeling between two bailiffs.
"As all devotees should know!" Furina pointed an accusing finger at the Imposter. "To impersonate the Creator is a crime of the highest magnitude! No sentence is too great for this heretic! However, fate has called upon the fair and just courts of Fontaine to judge this case! In the name of their Grace, we shall decide the most suitable punishment for this sinner, to enact the ultimate justice that will stand through all of time!"
Cheers erupted from the stands and jury box, drowning out the Imposter's pathetic whimper for salvation from behind the gag that silenced them.
Furina slammed the gavel down once more.
"Silence! This court is now in session! Neuvillette! Call the first witness!"
Tumblr media
"When they first came to me, their face shined like the sun! It was almost blinding to look at!"
"Their voice soothed my heart and before I knew it, I followed their every command! There's foul magic at play, I just know it!"
"I've felt the Creator's holy presence before. I alongside others have traveled far to complete tasks in their glorious name and I know for a fact that this... abomination that stands before us can't be further from the Creator themselves! Your Majesty, surely you know what the aura of the Creator feels like!"
Tumblr media
The courtroom was silent as all eyes fell upon their Archon, still deep in thought.
After a brief moment, Furina turned towards the courtroom and gave a sinister smile.
"I have decided the most fitting punishment for this Imposter! To the guillotine!
Tumblr media
The fountain plaza was completely packed as almost all the people within the city gathered to see the momentous event.
Some chattered eagerly, some prepared their kameras to immortalize the instant the blade swung down, while others sat on mats and enjoyed a picnic.
Then, their Archon finally stepped onto the platform with a skip in her step.
"Witness me, Your Grace!"
Furina gleefully pranced around the restrained Imposter.
"Witness me, as I, Focalors, and the people of Fontaine, cleanse this beautiful world of its filthiest sinner, in your name!"
Before the Imposter could even say their last worlds, Furina's rapier slashed through the rope next to the guillotine, releasing its deadly payload.
As the blade soared down, Furina closed her eyes and felt utter ecstasy shudder through her body.
Chunk
Fwump
Furina heard something land in the basket in front of her. She had done it! The Divine Grace's face is sullied no longer!
Furina spread her arms wide open to welcome the cheers of her people-
But the celebration never arose.
An uncomfortable silence was all she heard as she slowly opened her eyes.
"What's wrong? This is a moment for celebration! Not-"
Furina stopped as her eyes wandered over to the guillotine, then down onto the liquid gold that stained its blade.
"Oh."

Chat: Water Tasting II
"Tears? Well I suppose its close to drinking water but I wouldn't understand the appeal of drinking it not mention it quite inefficient and unhealthy if a human were to cry that much.....Their Grace's tears? I wouldn't dare think of such blasphemy as tasting the Creator's tears. I suggest you keep those thoughts to yourself."
.
.
.
.
Although he was dimissive at first, he couldn't deny the ideas worming into his brain every time he saw you in an emotional state. Would you mind him kissing away your delicious salty tears while holding you in his arms? Thoughts of simple comforts start to twist into something a bit darker. His mind begins to drift of him pinning you down on his desk, licking those rolling fat tears off your cheeks while you screaming his name. His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice banging on his door. "NEUVILLETTEEEEE ARE YOU IN THERE? IT IS TIME FOR CAKE WITH THEIR GRACE COME QUICKLY." When is the next vacation again?
(I didn't do the story quest yet, nor do I know a lot about silver edition old dragon man, so apologies for any ooc)

☆ even the gods bleed [ pt 2 ]
{☆} characters furina, neuvillette {☆} notes cult au, imposter au, multi-chapter, gender neutral reader {☆} warnings none {☆} word count 1.9k {☆} previous [ 1 ]
This had to be a punishment of some sort – some kind of divine punishment.
She was bored out of her mind just watching the sleeping body – she hadn't blinked once in the past five hours, her eyes were really starting to hurt. Yet they still hadn't moved so much as an inch since she sequestered them away to the only place she had known to be safe.
But it'd been almost a week since then.
The only solace she found was that Teyvat had seemed much less hellbent on collapsing in on itself like a dying star.
That counted for something.
Not much, but something!
..Even if their position was no better then it was a week ago.
There was, after all, still the issue of what to do about the false Creator – the actual imposter – and the Archons following them like blind lambs. The other Archons wouldn't listen if she tried to reason with them, and it would only risk the life of Divine One if she spoke of their location to anyone else.
She also was pretty fond of having her head still attached to her shoulders.
So she avoided them all together. Partially because she wasn't sure she wouldn't have a breakdown at the sight of them..she'd never been a fighter, and fighting an Archon? Easy pass.
Instead she was forced to babysit the sleeping Divine until they woke up while Neuvillette handled taking care of the nation and dealing with the other Archons – and by extension the false Creator.
Really though, she would almost think them dead if not for the subtle rise and fall of their chest.
Though..this also left her with a lot of time to herself. A lot of time to think.
She really didn't like it.
There wasn't a lot to occupy her mind and what little there was only distracted her for a scant few moments before her eyes drifted back to the Divine like she was locked in their orbit, unable to escape.
She closed the same book for the twelfth time – she kept count – and returned it to it's meticulously designed place within her bookcase. A low, barely audible huff of frustration escaped her lips before she could bite it down, her stare boring a hole into the body of the Divine One with a sharp intensity she rarely showed.
She was tired, bored and constantly on edge, fearing that at any moment someone would find out about their presence here.
That, at the drop of a hat, she would be powerless to stop the greatest tragedy of her time play out before her eyes.
Neuvillette would have scolded her for being so petulant, especially around the Divine One, if he were here.
But he wasn't.
He was out running her nation, instead.
And what was she doing? Nothing!
She grit her teeth, nails digging harshly into the palm of her hands as she took a deep breath – now was not the time to think about that. She had..much more pressing matters. Sulking and letting her thoughts spiral helped no one, least of all herself.
Yet her attention was caught by a harsh inhale, the rustle of fabric – were they finally waking up? She was exhausted, but it all vanished at the sudden drop of life within the otherwise deathly still body of the Divine.
Her eyes followed the subtle twitch of their fingers, watching as their brow furrowed and their features twisted in something almost like..pain.
..She wasn't ready.
What was she supposed to say?
Should she even say anything? Would that be considered impolite? Does she wait for them to speak first? Should she kneel? Bow?
She doesn't get much time to find her own answer before their lashes flutter, chest heaving with every strangled breath. Every single thought vanishes from her mind the moment she meets their eyes.
For a long, silent moment she thinks that her heart must have stopped.
Their eyes glow like the cresting of the sun over the horizon, painting the world in hues of gold – yet it also reminded her of the dipping of the moon below the waves, casting the briefest, most gentle of lights upon the world engulfed in darkness. In the depths of their eyes was the birth and death of stars in the infinite cosmos – glittering stars in a sea of empty, blank space that left her feeling lightheaded and breathless.
Beneath the splendor is a spark of recognition in their eyes so vibrant it was like a shooting star piercing through the dark night sky, leaving nothing but the wonder in the eyes of the observer as the only proof it ever existed – brilliant in it's beauty, however brief.
It is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.
"Focalors?"
The lilt of their voice nearly made her knees buckle beneath her – euphoria so consuming it left her feeling she was starving swallowed her whole, her mind blanking in a moment of utter bliss. It was..an indescribable feeling that she doubted she could ever hope to put into words – not in a way that could properly express it, try as she might.
She swallowed the words that threatened to spill from her lips – she couldn't make a fool of herself. Not in front of them of all people. She'd never forgive herself.
"Divine One," She rasps, clearing her throat and covering her mouth with a hand to mask both her nervousness and the small smile that creeps across her face. She quickly regains her composure, hand resting on her hip as she puffs out her chest with every bit of pride she can manage. "I am sure you must be confused, but worry not– your most loyal acolyte has seen the truth!"
The silence is deafening.
She opens one eye, peaking at the bewildered and almost distraught expression of the Divine.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
That..she was not prepared for. Surely they knew who they were! Surely they knew. They had to– she's been praying to them for as long as she's breathed, she's dedicated every hour of her life to living up to their ideals, they can't just–!
"Lady Furina?"
Neuvillette, thankfully, spares her the embarrassment of having a meltdown in front of the Divine, the gentle rap of his knuckles against the door making her and the Divine pause, the soft lull of his voice soothing her nerves and yet setting her on edge at the same time.
"Neuvillette." She clears her throat again, her steps hurried as she marches to the door and pries it open none too gently, a forced smile pulling at her lips. She wastes no time tugging the man into the room, shutting the door behind him with a short huff. The silence is, somehow, even worse then before as the three of them stare at each other in absolute exasperation.
Neuvillette, for his part, manages to get his act together with a sharp clearing of his throat, bowing so low even she looks unnerved. She steals a brief glance at the Divine, and she's taken aback by the uncomfortability twisting their features into a grimace.
Their expression is schooled back into one of empty apathy when he stands back to his full height, but she saw it – she knows she did! Did they not like their worship? Were they not respectful enough? For a moment, she feared the Divine would smite Neuvillette down on the spot..but they just stared at him like he was a ghost.
"Why aren't you killing me?"
The defeated, resigned tone combined with the way their voice cracks makes her heart ache in her chest – it feels as though her entire world is crumbling down at her feet, and she cannot explain why she feels such emotions so strongly, but it is suffocating. It is almost as if Teyvat itself is weeping, bearing down upon her shoulders like a heavy weight.
She feels the urge to weep herself, but she powers through, gritting her teeth long enough for Neuvillette to take his place at the side of her – though it feels more like their – bed, kneeling like he was going to pray.
"Divine One," He offers a hand with a quiet rumble of his voice, the words slipping off his tongue like honey. It's like trying to soothe a stray cat..though she'd never voice such comparisons of the most Divine out loud. "I..we mean you no harm. I swear on my authority as the Iudex of Fontaine and Chief Justice that you are safe with us."
The skepticism she expected, but the reverence in which Neuvillette must convince them – or perhaps they are simply so tired that they simply did not care any longer if it was all some ploy to drive a knife between their ribs. She didn't expect them to actually place their hand in Neuvillette's.
He didn't either, judging by the way he visibly brightened – not that they'd notice, but she did.
..Not that she could really blame him, her heels clicking against the floorboards as she shifted her weight to the other foot with a nervous energy that was practically bursting at the seams, more then a little jealous of the attention he was receiving. She was the one who found them, she was the one who stayed with them the entire time..but he gets all the attention?
How unfair.
"O-of course! We would never lay a hand on our creator," She adds, her voice a little higher pitched then she would have liked as she placed her hands on her hips, puffing out her chest and brushing off the sting of jealousy. "Least of all I– your most loyal, most devout acolyte!"
She felt baffled when she heard the sound of their laughter, her shoulders hunching and her cheeks flushing on mere instinct – she was expecting mockery, but the look in their eyes, still dulled by a pain she cannot even begin to imagine, made her hesitate.
..It was, perhaps, the most genuine thing she'd heard from them ever since before the hunt began.
She wasn't sure why her heart hurt at such an idea, but it was enthralling to see the beginnings of a half hearted smile on their lips.
For a moment, her mask of theatrics was forgotten as she stared at them in a mixture of awe and adoration– and though she didn't look at Neuvillette, she could imagine he must've shared such an expression.
Had she any doubts that they were her Creator, that they alone were the most Divine..they would wiped clean now. There was no mistaking the way the world itself seemed to grow clearer as they glanced up at her like she was worth something.
For a moment, she realized how cold the false Creators gaze had been now that she has felt warmth so gentle it almost made her knees buckle beneath her. It felt like a pale imitation, now.
Nothing could compare to the warmth that spread through her body at the mere semblance of a smile upon their lips. She didn't even mind if it was her they were laughing at anymore, she just wanted to hear them laugh again.
She'd make a fool of herself, if she had to.
She'd never felt so..ravenous for such a thing, but just the briefest glimpse was addictive.
She simply couldn't help herself from striding across the room and clasping their free hand in her own, her smile wide enough to unnerve as she leaned her weight onto the bed. For a moment, she considered pulling away at the way they startled, but her mind was made up by then – there was no going back.
"Again."

Hiii! Welcome back!!! After reading your recent post, i had a thought about what if the isekai'd Overseer was founded wandering around Fontaine when the Traveler had yet to reach said nation. Do Focalors still trying to arrest and judge the Overseer, or do they belong to the category of the divine that she knows not to make an enemy of?
Hiii! Thank you so much, for the welcome and for the ask :D
Oh, I like this one. I'n usually afraid of writing characters before I have read all their lore (not me struggling with the locked voicelines for Neuvillette oof), but I think that Furina has provided the answer already - she is very much ready to put the Overseer on trial, and to make a big show out of it too. Why? Because of what happens with the Traveler, of course!
When the Traveler arrives in Fontaine, they are already known far and wide - Furina herself recognizes them and comes to "greet" them personally, albeit in her own way. I'd say that SAGAU Furina definitely knows that the Traveller is the First Vessel. There is no way she doesn't, either by means of being an Archon, or simply by word of mouth or the Steambird, in the same way she'd heard other things about the Traveler.
And what does she do as soon as we step foot in Fontaine?
Yep. An isekai'd Overseer would very much need to get their Phoenix Wright impersonation ready. I do believe she doesn't have ill intent, or that she actually wants to sentence the Overseer - it's more of a mixture of "hey, look at me!" and "I'm acknowledging your importance by coming here personally and making a fuss". One should feel honored, really. Furina likes entertainment, and I do believe that her theatrical worldview and the outlook of a lot of Overseers out there (guilty as charged) are rather similar - for us as players, the world of Teyvat really is a stage where a story plays out - better yet, it's a story wherein we can control the main character to make the story go further and interact with the characters! Of course, the difference lies in the fact that for an Overseer, the world of Teyvat really is just a game... while for Furina it's still her reality, no matter how many theatrical elements she adds to it.
As for whether she'd recognize the Overseer as a divine being she shouldn't make an enemy of... depends entirely on the way the Overseer interacts with her. We've seen her mask slip when the Traveler accepts her challenge ("Fighting gods? I've got a resume"). We've seen her take a step back in other occasions, too. But it all depends on whether the Overseer chooses to indulge her. The more drama-loving you are, the more you indulge in the theatrics, the further she'll go! After all, she's just found a kindred spirit. She's very excited if you play along! But if you're a no-nonsense Overseer with no time for her antics... she might just call in Neuvillette to accompany her the next time she needs to speak with you. Or she'll avoid the meeting altogether - forgive her, she's nervous.

Severe Case of Not-Giving-A-Fuck
By yours truly, the most confusing writer in this app. Also yes, I will finish this. Yes, this story is unfinished. Why? Why not?
~--~
Okay I've abused this plot more than I've abused my own OC's so have this very bland meal I've prepared for people stalking this probably dead tag.
~--~
Why am I in this situation again? Who knows.
You just woke and found yourself in a Danganronpa class trial- wait no. This is the Opera House? I mean, I just woke up, man. I thought Neuvilette was Monokuma.
Tumblr media
[I'm an artistic genius, I know.]
"Goodmorning, and welcome! ...my graceless, divine fraud!" A voice shooked me awake, not really but it gathered some of my remaining attention.
Tumblr media
Fuck, Monomi? She was cool, but I didn't like her all that much. Wait no, that's Furina. I guess they're alike... in a way, I suppose.
"...what the fuck?" I murmured, though everyone probably heard it. "So, uhm. Morning?" Seriously, what the fuck is happening?
"Dearest Dark Diva of Divinal Deception! Are you ready to fight me until your blood has been drenched upon the foundation of my empire?" Furina laughed uproariously.
Okay maybe she's not really a Monomi, maybe a Gundham?
"Fight? Kay... do we start now or what?" I asked, honestly, I can't even open my eyes.
"Wha- first that blonde traveler, now you!? A-Am I not intimidating-?!" Furina grumbled in frustration. Neuvilette coughed, "Lady Furina, I'd advise you to calm down, especially in this scenario," He said.
So, Monokuma is Monomi, and Monomi is now a spineless Monokuma? Weird.
"Are we gonna fight with our bare hands? I don't really have a weapon." I yawned.
A person spoke up, "What are you suggesting to do, fraud?" Is it a monokub? Ah no, just Chlorinde. "Fight, isn't that what she wanted?" I point at the Archon.
"She means a Fight in court," Mono- Neuvilette responded.
Ah. A fight in Court. ....boring.
"Kay. Do we start now?"
"Do you even know what you're being accused of?"
"Should I know?"
...
"Very well. Let's begin," the Chirf Justice declared.
"Oh wait, who's the one prosecuting me?"
"You're worried about that?" Furina chimed in.
She sighed, "If you must know! Then take a look for yourself."
As she said those words, I turned to look at the individuals on the opposite side of the room.
"...Navia..? Oh wait, no its the Traveler. Sorry, you were both blonde."

Be a Gladiolus in a Field of Belladonnas pt3
(Summary): After coming to the horrifying realization of your true identity, Ei confronts the false idol she’s been worshiping while you are greeted by an unexpected character
Part 1 Last Part Next Part
(Characters): Ei, Venti, Zhongli, Nahida, Focalors, Murata, Lumine, Paimon, & ???
(Warnings): Not proofread
(A/n): This is very short compared to the last 2 chapters but I feel that since this brings a lot of information it’s best to leave it short
─────────── ✧ ───────────
“Golden blood! That’s proof that I’m the Creator, isn’t it?!” You yelled as you lifted your arm up to show the large gash oozing golden blood.
That can’t be right
It’s a known fact that the Creator has blood that shines brighter than the most precious of ingots proving their divinity, but why do you, an imposter have gold sliding down your arm?
Unless…
No, it can’t be. She couldn’t have been worshipping a fake for hundreds of years and have the audacity to make her hunt the real Creator. That’s impossible, it can’t be, or can it?
No matter how much she wants to reject that this situation isn’t happening in reality, she can’t deny what she’s seeing with her own eyes
The archon hardened by thousands of years of battle and the lost of her friends and sister
wanted to drop her weapon and beg at your feet. Beg for forgiveness for raising her polearm, the same polearm you gifted her. But the sensation of electro coursing through her body sent her into a panic. She can’t stop the elemental energy from building up inside her. Her feet began to move on their own
“I don’t think she’s convinced…” Paimon said as she clutched your uninjured arm
“Torn to oblivion…” Ei’s voice shook as lifted up her sword and began to swing it down
Before her sword could reach you, a portal opened up beneath your feet and sallowed you and the traveler
As she saw you fall into a sea of darkness and stars the last thing Ei saw was the look of betrayal on her Creator’s face
Before she can reach out for your hand the portal closed leaving Ei to dwell on what just happened, especially what she did to you, her Creator
Unable to hold back the tidal wave of emotions a sreech ripped out of Ei, tears rolling down her face. The Almighty Shogun feared for her ruthlessness reduced to nothing but a crying mess. Not caring if anyone would see her in this pathetic state, if someone wanted to take her head then so be it. She didn’t care it would be her punishment, for she committed the most heinous act in all of Tevyat
When the tears stopped falling she saw the golden palace reflected the river stream, the floating palace that you should be in and the electro god knew just what to do
The doors of the golden palace slam open as the Raiden Shogun storms in
“(Y/N)!”
The Doppelganger turned their head towards the archon
“Raiden, you lost the imposter. I expected better from you.”
“Cut the act! You’re not the real creator, are you?!”
The neutral expression of the your double dropped and formed to an expression of anger and bitterness. Zhongli stood in Ei’s path of the doppelganger
“That is no way to talk to the Creator, Beel!” Zhongli lectured
“They aren’t the Creator. The person you labeled an imposter is!”
“What nonsense you speak of?!” The hydro archon, Focalors yelled
“I saw them bleed gold blood. If I were to take your hand would you bleed red blood like the rest of us?”
“That’s enough from you, I suggest you watch your words before I-”
“Murata, I got this.” Your doppelganger said as they extended their hand as it glowed a purple light
“Agghhh!”
Ei fell onto the floor and started to writhe in pain. Her body felt like it was being torn apart, the room was quiet apart from the blood curdling screams ripping from Ei
The purple light emitted from the doppelganger’s hand stopped giving the archon some relief
“Ha ha… I was right. Ha, the real Creator would never do something like this.” Ei said while gasping for air
“I feel you should take Murata’s advice and watch your words, you wouldn’t want anything happening to your precious Inazuma.” The Doppelganger threatened
Ei’s eyes grew wide making the real imposter have a wicked smile on their face
“You’re all dismissed.”
The archons scurried out of the room, Zhongli and Murata helping Ei out of the room.
Once out the archons congregated in a room farthest away from the tyrant. There they discuss while seated at a table
“Ei are you sure you saw this… ‘imposter’ with golden blood?” Nahida asked
“I’ve seen a lot of bloodshed in my time and you know what red blood looks like under all lighting, but their blood… it simmered as they showed it to me.” Ei explained slumped on her seat
“Then what did you do afterwards?” Zhongli questioned
“I wanted to drop my weapon and beg for forgiveness, but my body moved on its own. Like someone was controlling me.” Ei answered
“So you think that the ‘Creator’ used your gnosis in a fashion similar to puppeteer and a puppet? That’s just outlandish.” Focalors stated
“It’s not out of the realm of possibility.” The other archons turned towards Venti who looked dejected. “You weren’t around during the Cataclysm, but we were called to Khaenri’ah. I remember what I was doing when I was violently plucked and put there. When I showed hesitation I felt as if my body wasn’t my own and it did things that I would never do”
The pyro archon slammed her hands on the table. “So we’re just play things for that fraud while we’re forced to hunt our real creator down?! There has to a way for us to stop this!”
“There might be a way, but I need to refine it a bit.” Nahida said
“While you do that do you know where the real creator is?” Zhongli asked Ei
“I don’t know, but I saw a portal open beneath their feet, I’m hoping their safe there
─────────── ✧ ───────────
“Hey Lumine, wake up! Please wake up!” You whispered pleads cautious of what could be lurking around
You started to grow panic until golden eyes fluttered open and met yours
Lumine shot up and frantically looked around trying to get an idea of where in the world you all are
“Where are we?” Lumine asked
“Paimon has no idea, it was like the ground opened up and sallowed us up!” The white haired fairy explained
“I think I have an idea on where we are, I think this place is-”
“The abyss…” A forth voice explained
You and your company turned to see multiple abyss monsters and a person in the center. The person was short in stature with golden hair framing a delicate face with the same golden eyes Lumine has
“Aether?!” Lumine gasped
The abyss prince gave an acknowledging nod and turned his attention towards your
“Your Grace, are you alright?” Aether’s voice was laced with concern
“Y-yeah, I just want to know what’s going on. I’m labeled as an imposter but I bleed golden blood and I was still attacked.” You uttered
“I’m terribly sorry you had to go through that, but rest assured you’ll be safe here in the abyss.”
“But I want to know, why Ei still attacked me! She saw I had golden blood, so why?!”
Aether was slightly taken aback by your outburst but quickly recomposed himself
“Well to see your Grace, the true imposter has the power to control the archons to carry out their will. They see you as a threat to their power and want you dead as soon as possible. If you were to step out of the abyss you won’t know a moment of peace, forever being hunted down.”
“This is all too much, but at least Diluc and everyone else in Mondstadt is okay…”
“It’s probably best to not assume the best, your Grace.” Aether said as he turned his head away from you
“What do you mean by that?”
“That imposter is known to be cruel and very tyrannical. I wouldn’t put it past them to employ torture and death to get any information on you.”
“No… you aren’t serious? That can’t be real, can it?!” You pleaded but the fact that Aether couldn’t bring himself to make eye contact with you told you enough
You fell to your knees as tears began to pour down your face. The tears became uncontrollable as thoughts of the people in Mondstadt filled your mind. Their kindness and compassion, they didn’t call you an imposter they just saw you as a normal person. You wondered if you would have preferred to be hunted down than to have this happen. Lives ruined because they were unfortunate enough to have met you
Then you thought of Dawn Winery, the nice servants and the even nicer master, Diluc. He opened his home to you and looked after you when he had no reason to trust you. The work his family had done for years potentially ruined because of some doppelganger
You wondered what would Diluc do in this situation. He fights to protect Mondstadt and would fight to protect the world from evils that plague it, so why don’t you do the same
You wiped the tears off your face and stood up. “They think I’m going to lie down and die. I’m going to live and I’m going to take them off that throne and bring their reign of tyranny to an end.” You turned towards the prince. “Aether, if want to see my mission complete then I request the support of your army.”
Aether got on one knee and bowed his head. “Though I disagree you should be doing this, but Celestia has committed a grave sin and it would be unacceptable if they went unpunished.” He declared, gold eyes that burned a rage that’s been raging for 500 years met yours. “I’ll see your mission to the very end, even if I die doing it.”
