Also, the height difference is very pronounced this ep, we can really see how tiny Yas is beside Tori especially since we're seeing a lot them at home and bare feet and Yas is not standing on a box every other scene lmao. I love the show for giving us that.

And referring to your previous ask about Lucy calling Kate "my love" did you catch that tiny "babe" when Lucy was trying to reassure Kate? I think it's just before Kate lies down because she was tired from cleaning all day.

Lucy is really the total package!! Love how when Kate body slammed her you could tell she was hovering at the intersection of surprise and arousal lolol...like, same!

It was super cool to me to see how their communication has blossomed since season 1. The way Lucy kind of tentatively told Kate that they could talk about her brother if that was something she wanted. And how Kate was able to be like can we put a pin in it...and then how they actually did talk about it later. I loved how in this ep we got to see Kate being tough as nails in the field and then so incredibly soft and open at home with Lucy. And Lucy really stepped up (seemingly effortlessly) to be a safe place for Kate 😭🥺

Moving away from that tangent! Yes omg the height difference!!! I did a double take during that domestic scene when they were dyeing Kate's hair because holy shit she looks sooooo tall compared to Lucy! This show knows exactly what the gays want!

And I did /not/ catch the little "babe" the first time around but you and @sassy-lesbian pointed it out and I've gone back to watch that scene so I've heard it too now! Honestly it's sooooo in character for Lucy to be so casual with the pet names...I feel sure Kate swoons internally every time she hears it 💞🌈💖

Oh you got to episode 11 of NCIS Hawai'i!?! Honestly, going forward it made me like Kate more and Lucy less. I don't want to spoil anything for you but I just didn't appreciate Lucy's attitude toward Kate after that. I get Lucy being upset by it but she completely shut Kate off and never gave her the chance to explain for like the rest of the season. Even when Kate's explanation was valid, Lucy still shut her out and that wasn't cool.

I'm actually on episode 14 now! All that stuff with Jane/Maggie in eps 12 and 13 was sad 😩 I felt bad for Jane!

But yes it does seem like Lucy isn't giving Kate the time of day at all...I kind of feel bad for Kate too because while I do think she should've told Lucy from the start, she did explain how she didn't expect anything to happen with Lucy and she seemed to need some time to sort out her feelings since she didn't want it to be public initially either so I can understand that kind of mindset as well. And it's clear that Kate really cares about her so I'm surprised Lucy is just shutting her out completely. And of course now Kate is more involved with their group and Lucy is just giving her attitude lol but I'm curious to see how it continues!

Do I get it wrong? I thought Lucy is mad about this promotion thing not because of Kate not telling her but she is mad because:

Kate did this big thing FOR her that makes her realises what they could have been(because now she knew Kate WAS really serious about them). Also, this brings out the feeling she still has for Kate(plus Kate got hurt), and at the same time she is mad at herself to have these feelings while so scared that if she gives in she will get hurt again.

Do those all make sense?

Like Lucy is more angry at the situation, at herself.

This is why I think that answer you had for an anon with grumpy cat Lucy and confused puppy Kate are so spot on for this episode's Kacy.

We all knew Lucy loves Kate, but Kate only knew about it this ep. I feel that Kate is a kind of person not very good with words in relationship but she does little things to show her love.

Hence the grand gesture makes much sense at the final ep. Because she just has to do something big to let Lucy knows she is all in and not gets cut off talking agin😅.

I actually really love this episode. Tori and Yas did a wonderful job. You can see in that scene next to ambulance how worried Lucy was but she tried so hard to calm herself down to not get mad at Kate🥺, Lucy was a mess inside.

All the team members with their off duty activities were so cute. Let Jane has her bath please😂

I also love that Kate has a good boss now, a boss has her back. The first thing he saw Kate was to ask her how she was and ordered her to get check, not caring about the case at all.

I don't think you're wrong at all and I'd like to refer to this reply by @englishstrawbie to support your opinion. A perspective I hadn't even be able to put into words till then.

Tori and Yas did a g r e a t job in this episode and I wish people would focus more on that rather than spreading all this unnecessary negativity. And I loved the episode too! Had a lot of fun with Jane's bath getting cut off 😂

I also absolutely believe Kate will get to have her say in the finale and things will get a lot better.

And yes to Kate's boss being a good guy ❤️

Nancy Drew S2 Premieres Today

Please find under the cut my various hopes and dreams for the characters

Bess

I have so many hopes for Bess going forward. My main two are ones you will have heard before.

One, I want Victoria to take Bess under her wing. I loved their interactions in ep 5 while George was possessed. George accepts spn stuff these days, and as such is more understanding of her mom’s struggles with alcoholism. But I think she will always have a certain degree of resentment towards Victoria for failing to be the mother George and her sisters needed. Bess on the other hand has none of that baggage, and so if Victoria is going to be passing down her teachings to anyone I think it would be Bess. I want to see them spending more time together, sort of like an internship, and maybe Bess can advocate to George about her mom, and help them become closer.

Two, I have a very specific storyline I want to unfold with Lisbeth. We know the Marvin family in addition to being super rich is super shady, and Granny Marvin wants Bess to spy on Lisbeth to help the family out. I know Bess is torn between her family and her girlfriend because she has wanted to be a part of the Marvin family for so long, but I don’t think she would actually betray Lisbeth like that. So I want to see a storyline where we as the audience think Bess is betraying Lisbeth, and spying on her and stuff like that, (similar to Ow*n and Nancy’s fake fight in ep 11) and then right as we expect consequences WHAM. It turns out Bess was really spying on her family the whole time for some super illegal murder-y thing that happened, and Granny Marvin or someone else gets arrested. She texts Lisbeth along the lines of “everything went great, see you in an hour!” Only when she gets there Lisbeth is DEAD. And then Amaya helps her through the grief and they bond and fall in love aaaaaaaaah

Three, I’m interested in her London family. They want nothing to do with her anymore, I’m assuming because she insisted on getting to know her mom’s side of the family, but is there more to the story? I would like to find out.

Four, I want her together with Amaya their chemistry is on FIRE sorry not sorry

George and Nick

Since they are dating I’m doing them at the same time, but I have hopes for them separately and together. Starting with George:

One, I want George to start manifesting psychic powers like her mom. I have said it before and I’ll say it again. We got a glimpse of the sorts of things Victoria deals with everyday in the seance episode (ep 7) but George will never truly understand what her mother goes through until she experiences it for herself. Yes she now deals with ghosts and hauntings on a regular basis, but George can turn it off. She can step away and make out with Nick, and manage the Claw, and parent her sisters. Victoria can’t turn it off, and yes that has led to some character/parental failings on Victoria’s part but I still want her and George to have a loving relationship. Imagine George starts seeing visions and spirits and things she can’t turn off or walk away from, and finally understands how and why her mom is overwhelmed. And then imagine Victoria becoming incensed and heartbroken, because her abilities have made a mess of her life and she in no way shape or form wants it for her daughter. She immediately teaches George all the control she can, how to shut it off or block them out, and together she and George find new (sober) ways of dealing.

Two, I want to meet the Fan dads. George has two sisters, Ted and Jessie, and the three of them all have different dads. I would be fine with meeting any of them. And it would make an interesting storyline if it turns out one of the dads had no idea he had a daughter? I’m not married to any particular storyline, but there’s a lot of potential there and I want to see what the writers do with it. Onto Nick:

One, as is the case with everyone else, I want to know more about his family. They are all just chilling in Florida, and to our knowledge have never tried to meet up with their son who is now out of prison for a while now which is odd. I know from the episode description in 2x2 that his mom is going to come up for a visit, and I cannot wait to see how it plays out. He mentioned being the black sheep of the family (ep 11 I think) and the writers can’t just drop a line like that and not delve into it, come on.

Two. I know this is super random but I want him to get some sort of stable living situation. He has like 5 million bucks worth of bearer bonds he can’t just sleep on George’s couch for the rest of the show. Plus Harbor Day is over which means the hotels and stuff have opened up. I want him to have a home, is that so wrong of me? A space he can make his own and fill with classical novels and have sex with Nancy?

It’s not as specific as my Bess wish but I know how I want George and Nick’s relationship to go.

I want them to fall apart slowly against their wishes. I mentioned this in one of my earlier reviews. There is so much potential for angst here you guys. I want them to try and stay together because they do like each other, and are attracted to each other, and care about each other, but it’s just not enough. I want Nick to have situations where he consistently goes to Nancy over George for her help and neither of them really understand why. I want George to be desperate to hold onto him because she’s never really been with a guy like Nick before where she doesn’t have to hide and she likes that feeling. But despite their best efforts, it’s just not enough and they both realize it’s just not meant to be, and sadly let each other go.

Also I want Bess and George to be cousins no I will never shut up about it

Ace

Honestly Ace as a character is perfection. The writers could do anything with him and I would support it. Go crazy guys.

Although if he ended up with George I wouldn’t be opposed...

Ryan Hudson

Just two wants, and I probably won’t get either of them, but here it is.

One, we never saw how Ryan and George got together, and I’m hoping they can find a way to make it slightly less blegh. Like maybe their first run in was as a waitress/customer at the Claw, and she knew he was married but made out with him anyway, and then he pursued her after finding out she was in high school because he was already attracted to her. I despise Aria x Ezra and didn’t watch past season 2 of PLL but maybe they could do it like that, where he didn’t actually know she was 17 at first.

Two, now that they have officially established the George/Ryan thing was fucked up and in no way George’s fault and that it messed her up big time, I want Ryan to make amends. I want him to apologize to George, and have him understand that yes he wronged her, and took advantage of her, and he shouldn’t have done it. They’ll never be on great terms, but considering he is Nancy’s father hopefully they can at least get to a place where they are civil with each other, and he is always willing to help her out when she needs it.

Nancy Drew

NANCY. My girl. My babe. My daughter. Lucy’s daughter. Whatever shall we do with you.

One, no surprise here, I want Nancy to get back on good terms with Carson. I heard in an interview, I don’t remember where nor do I have the link, that Carson is going to be practicing law again this season and Nancy is going to be doing some sleuthing for him in regards to some cases. Nancy is a rational human being, and I am confident given enough time she will understand that her father was really doing what he thought was best, and trying to do right by Lucy and fulfill her dying wishes, and she’ll be able to forgive him.

Two, I want her and Ryan to get to an amicable relationship. Nancy has so many (justified) negative feelings towards Ryan, what with his whole being a rich sleaze who had an affair with a 17yo, but really as the first season went on Ryan became more and more of a sympathetic character. Now I’m not delusional, I know he’s not going to morph into an ideal father figure overnight. But I want him to work to be a part of Nancy’s life, and I want Nancy to let him. I want her to understand that yes Ryan has fucked up a lot of times, but he is capable of growth and redemption. And slowly but surely, despite her best efforts, he weasels his slightly smarmy little way into her heart. If we’re getting specific maybe Nancy can be abducted (again) and Carson and Ryan have to team up to rescue her.

Three, Nancy forgive Kate. She’s dead and she loved you and she was your mother whether or not she gave birth to you. Come on, you can do it.

Four. *deep inhale* Listen. I understand I am firmly in the minority here in a fandom filled with Nancy/Ace shippers, but I want Nick and Nancy to happen. As George and Nick slowly fall apart, I want Nancy to resist being there for Nick, to tell him he should really be going to George with these problems, and maybe they have a moment where Nancy falls off a step and Nick catches her and they’re super close for a second before JUMPING apart and immediately avoid each other for a while. I want Nancy to have feelings and fight them because she and George are on good terms and she knows Nick is good for George, and doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that friendship or their relationship.

Five, apparently Nancy is getting a new love interest 2 days after Ow*n’s death and I may have hated him but she was fairly into him and as such I am not here for it. Go away new love interest. We don’t want you here.

Dead Lucy

I don’t care in what capacity she is present but listen I NEED my dead traumatized daughter in this show okay? Dead Lucy is my hands down favorite character and I love and support her and if she moves on or finds peace or whatever after sticking around for 20 years just because I will RIOT. But specific wants, just a couple.

One, I have a scene in my head. It is a very specific scene. Nancy is on the bluffs and she turns around, and Lucy is there. Not screaming, not haunting, just there. Nancy is afraid to move, afraid to blink, afraid to breathe. But slowly, she walks up to Lucy. Lucy is standing there, bedraggled and dead, staring at her daughter who grew up to be so beautiful. Nancy is right in front of her. Lucy slowly lifts a hand to touch her cheek and Nancy gasps a little because she can’t quite feel it, not really, but almost. She whispers ‘hi mom’ and closes her eyes, there’s a wind, and Lucy is gone.

Two, I want a Lucy vs Aglaeca showdown. I have no idea what they have planned for the Aglaeca origin story, and it’s fairly likely she will have been victimized by the Marvin family somehow, but right now she is going after Nancy and Lucy is not going to stand for it. Aglaeca shows up to try and take their souls and then Lucy goes all Molly Weasley on her ass and does that deathly scream thing and TACKLES the Aglaeca, and then screams her off just like “NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH.” and buys the Drew Crew time to do whatever Aglaeca banishing ritual they need to do. That would be nifty.

Disappointed but not surprised when I heard there wasn't Kacy, I know Yasmine isn't back for another few more eps so I'm kinda ok with that. But extremely disappointed that Kate wasn't trying to get in touch with Lucy when she saw that bounty on Lucy's head. Shouldn't her first reaction was to panic and at the very least call Lucy? Do everything in her power to keep her safe and having the show actually make that obvious for all to see? And what about showing Lucy reassuring her actual girlfriend that she will stay safe? Can't we even have that for a few seconds? At least a text? But of course not. I hate when they pander to the conservative audience. Don't even feel like watching the crossover tbh but I will just to see Lucy and Kate doing their own thing.... even if they forget they're girlfriends..... But I'll skip the boring parts because I'm petty.

This is the first kacy-related ask (and I only receive kacy-related asks tbh) that I've received in weeks if not months. Which I think says something about the status of the fandom rn 😱

Honestly, without Lucy in the show, I haven't really been following closely--her character, plus her relationship with Kate, is the main reason I watch. That said, I agree that it would be nice to have more references to Lucy sprinkled into the eps where she's absent. As always, I guess we just have to rely on the amazing fic writers in this fandom to fill in some gaps!!

Kate did look rlly hot in that FBI vest tho...that and that alone had me like, maybe it's time to return to watching 😂👀🔥

I can’t get of my head the what if the opportunity to cuff Kate into the kitchen post hadn’t happened and Jane was forced to knockout Kate and then cuff her to the kitchen post. She waking up and realizing what happened.

omfgggg that would've been another level of betrayal...and what jane did was already a huge betrayal. i think that if jane had felt like it was necessary to knock out kate, she would have. throughout the ep you could see her getting back into this cia dark mode where you just do what has to be done regardless of right and wrong.

i think it was really really interesting on a character level to see both kate and jane in a situation like that. i think jane has hidden depths and you could see from the start of the episode, when lucy and kai were asking her why she didn't alert them about oliver whats his face, that nobody knows her as well as they might think. in part that's because she's their boss, but in part it's because her time in the cia was full of secrecy and i feel like it's part of her. somehow this episode showed that better than the flashback eps where you see her during her time as a cia operative.

for kate, this ep showed how much she has changed since we met her in season 1. season 1 kate would've reported jane's ass. actually, season 1 kate would never have even known about this case because jane wouldn't have trusted her with it. but i think it shows how she has built so much trust not just with lucy but with jane. and not only do others trust her, but she trusts them enough to break the rules that she tries to live by.

but anyway i'm glad that jane /didn't/ actually knock kate out because i'm not sure their friendship could come back from that 😬

Oh? It seems pretty straightforward... Lucy didn't think it was a big deal and didn't bring it up, Kate was about to invite her to move in which Lucy wasn't opposed to but then Kate got cold feet? I assume we'll get them processing it through the ep and then a resolution at the end, which probably will be Lucy moving in but might just be a talk about where they currently are in their relationship and that it's too soon for now?

I actually really liked the rest of the scene though, lol, Kate knowing where everything of Lucy's was. That was very cute.

you probably won’t get to this before the episode airs. but similar to the other anon, it would just be 🥺🫠 that lucy does end up desperately yelling kate for whistler to not go inside that house. i feel like after kate first walked into the bullpen and they met again 6 months after their 2 nights 3 days, she vehemently insisted on lucy refer to her as whistler. and while lucy begrudgingly did so at first, she still respected kate’s wish. anyway, lucy kinda already slipped that she love kate on the balcony before it all went to shit 😭

surprise, anon!! i'm procrastinating and so here i am answering your ask. 😉 the backstory made it SO clear why lucy consistently calls whistler 'whistler.' whether it was because kate asked her to or because lucy just /had/ to figure out some way to compartmentalize the woman she hooked up with from the woman she works with, it's clear that it is WEIGHTED with meaning.

My wish for 2x03 is for Lucy to be the one to wire Kate up for her undercover assignment, because she doesn't trust anyone else to do that, and Lucy gets to touch her gf's body intimately in a non-sexual setting but then it just brings up all those feelings and sensations and when Lucy finally looks up at Kate, they both get that intense look in their eyes but Kate reads Lucy's mind and reassures her that she will be careful and they kiss. Afterwards when Kate leaves for the mission, they share one last look; Lucy is worried and Kate is determined.

LISTEN!!!! normally i'd say that this wish is perfect for fanfic. (and like, yes fic writers take note because i would love to read this.) BUT given last night's episode this idea is totally within the realm of possibility. the season two premiere gave us multiple (i think 5) scenes that could've come straight from a fanfic. and i really believe this ep is setting the tone for the season (the way the pilot set the tone for kacy's will they/won't they thing in season 1).

which means, in my professional opinion, there is a greater than 0 chance that we will actually get to see a gorgeous moment like this on our screens !!!!

Kate's "Pretty please?" to Ernie, she really has fully given up on trying to appear put together or in control in front of the team. This is what falling in love with Lucy Tara does to a person.

Hah, right, I cannot imagine the person from the first few eps acting like she is now. I feel like, in every way, this is what falling in love with Lucy did.

She has completely different priorities, she's aware of where she went wrong in interacting with Lucy and is more careful now, these are Lucy's friends and teammates, hers too, but actually, Lucy's family, she's not gonna be imperious and blunt with them. And plus, they all know, lol, and she knows that they know. And I'm glad that of the two directions she could have gone, softening because they knew or getting defensive and putting up an even harder shell, she chose to go softer.

ngl when alina called it that kate was invested i thought this was purely gonna be abt noah or other kate backstory which i was like damn we have time in the finale for this? AND THEN THEY SURPRISED ME WITH LUCY IS THE PERSON I CARE ABOUT THE MOST and she was this close to tearing up oh im so glad theyre back together bc lucy will finally be able to hear these fucking declarations of love instead of ernie and literally everyone else having to LMAO "if only they knew how the other still talked about them" is about to be over in a good way!

But there were so many good kacy scenes and moments that I get it now (also honestly thank god they prepped us for the serenade...i think they were like, we can't just drop this on them in the ep 😂)

But yeah omg Kate saying Lucy is the person she cares most about 🥺 So so precious. And like tbh for me as a viewer it was really important to hear her say that, in the same way that it was really good for me to hear Lucy say that she had loved Kate. Cuz like, I already KNEW that these two love and care about each other but there's been so much drama between them that sometimes that shit gets lost.
