crazy theory that makes no sense, incoming: what if Mu’s song isn’t chronological? what if she was bullied after she murdered the girl, and everyone knows she murdered that girl, but Mu didn’t get charged because we all know police forces be corrupt af and highly bribable.

listening to Es’s version of Afterpain really shows how Mu is twisting her words. as i’ve seen someone say before, she says sorry so you’re obligated to forgive her. if you don’t, she tried, you’re the one who won’t accept it. can’t you see that Mu is the one really in pain? despicable (mildly impressed)

Shidou

probably worked in palliative care, facing the stress and tears and anger of everyone he had to break the bad news to, until it got too much, of watching everyone he took care of fading and suffering and dying before his eyes until it got too much and he took drastic measures as...

an angel of death. maybe it started out as a genuine thing, where he would offer the service to terminal patients, but then snowballed until he would do it as punishment or just because, or maybe it was always retalitory because of the stress caused by dealing with patients families. i really can’t stop thinking about the dude whos DABDA reaction was Anger, at Kirisaki-sensei... okay no calling Shidou that sounds weird af. back to informality.

Japan doesn’t have any formal euthenasia laws, and the two doctors who were tried for it, one case passive (i.e. cutting off life support) one active (i.e. injection), were both found guilty of having caused death, so no matter why or how he did it Shidou would probably be a murderer for it.

i also think he engages in illegal organ harvesting, but in a way that, once you die he’ll harvest any viable organs regardless of your donor status card.

he also gives me the vibes of knowing he’s wrong, but either knowing he can’t stop, or fearing he can’t stop, which is why he wants to be found guilty.

i think her relationship was abusive on both sides. her reaction to the guilty verdict does not... make me feel comfortable. it’s not like Amane’s where she fell further into her beliefs, at least not in the same sense, but... she was treated cruelly and is reaffirming her love.

this is the easist for a q&a, or voice line, to contest, but it makes sense for why she was in the birdcage too, if she was in a physically abusive relationship.

i have, what i like to refer to as my “apropose of canon” what if of, what if Kazui is a professional killer (maybe a honeypot *wink wonk*), and Hinako was originally supposed to be his target but then he fell in love. this has no reason except “professional killer au romance story”

there was never a right choice during her first vote. if we voted “innocent”, it would re-affirm the teachings instilled in her, when we voted “guilty” we subjected her to the same torment her ‘guardians’ probably did.

so her lines during the lineup in Undercover confirmed two things for me. 1) her cult’s faith healing was most likely a two sided belief thing, both the healer and the healed must believe for it to work. pretty standard typical stuff. 2) a broken promise is only logically followed by death. “cross my heart and hope to die” stuff.

the brainwashing really got her... i hope she gets help, and also doesn’t murder Shidou. please don’t kill Shidou, Amane. if you do Kotoko’s gonna murder someone for real and i have hope for her.

Mikoto

amazing what if: Mikoto’s DID affects the MV’s, not to a major extent, but to the extent that he (or rather, one of his alters) is aware of what’s happening. my bet’s on Green, but Red could be a possibility. Jackalope did say he doesn’t know how DID will affect Milgram.

piggybacking off of the theories that Mikoto has two alters, identifiable by a Red tint and Green tint, as opposed to the core’s blue tint, and will be refered to by colours as opposed to Blue who as the (presumed) core will just be called Mikoto, i will point out something that is very obvious, and probably not something ground breaking.

RGB is the colour spectrum used in light, maybe meaning that if we want to really see Mikoto for all he is, we need to consider every part of him as him. you must consider all motives, regardless of which part of him hosts them, with out that you have a tinted view, and if you don’t consider any of them, you’ve black out your sight.

adding a caveat that i do not have any formal learning in regards to DID and any observations i make are to be taken with a grain of salt and are not meant to offend.

another i am voting guilty, because hoo boy. i admit i may be slightly trying to play 5D chess to have the most people survive, but this is also because she needs humility, just like how Fuuta needs it.

Audio Editing Process

Hey all, just thought I'd make regarding the process I used to make the new audio for the Northstar Client mod I'm working on.

Really quick here are some helpful sites

First, the software. You'll need to download

Audacity

Northstar Client (NC. Also I'm using the VTOL version)

Steam

Titanfall 2

Legion+ (from same site as NC)

Titanfall.vpk (also from NC)

Visual Studio Code(for making changes to .json files if necessary)

And that should be about it for now. Feel free to use whatever audio program you want. I just audacity cuz it's free and easy to use.

NOTE: if you want to skip a lot of headache and cut out the use of Legion+ and Tfall.vpk you can download a mod from Thunderstore.io and then just replace all the audio files with your new ones

This makes pulling a copy of an original unedited file for changes (if necessary) super easy, as well as making the exported file easy to find

Step 1.

First you'll want to get organized. Create a folder for all your mod assets, existing or otherwise and try to limit any folders within to a depth of one to make them easier to navigate/find stuff.

Example being:

<path>/mod_folder

|-->voicelines_raw (place all your audio in here)

|-->voicelines_edited (export to this folder)

|-->misc (add however many folders you need)

Above is an example of a folder with a depth of 1

First select your audio from the file you created earlier and import it into Audacity

Step 2.

Put any and all audio into their proper folder and open Audacity.

For my project I need to have some voicelines made seperately for when inside the titan, and when outside.

These instances are prefaced with a file tag "auto" and looks like this

Inside "audio" in the mod folder you will see a list of folders followed by .json files. WE ONLY WANT TO CHANGE THE FOLDERS.

Open an audio folder and delete the audio file within, or keep it as a sound reference if you're using Legion+ or Titanfall vpk.

Step. 3

Edit your audio

Click this button and open your audio settings to make sure they're correct. REMINDER 48000hz and on Channel 2 (stereo)

As you can see I forgot to change this one to channel two but as another important note you'll want to change the Project Sample rate with the dropdown and it's pictured and not just the default sample rate.

In this example I needed to make the voiceline sound like it was over a radio and I accomplished that by using the filter and curve EQ. This ended up being a scrapped version of the voiceline so be sure to play around and test things to make sure they sound good to you!

Afterwords your audio may look like this. If you're new, this is bad and it sounds like garbage when it's exported but luckily it's an easy fix!

Navigate to the effects panel and use Clip Fix. play around with this until the audio doesn't sound like crap.

Much better! Audio is still peaking in some sections but now it doesn't like it's being passed through a $10usd mic inside a turbojet engine.

Next you'll need to make sure you remove any metadata as it will cause an ear piercing static noise in-game if left in. Find it in the Edit tab.

Make sure there's nothing in the Value field and you're good to go!

Export your project as a WAV and select the dedicated output folder

Keep your naming convention simple and consistent! If you're making multiple voicelines for a single instance then be sure give them an end tag_01 as demonstrated in the picture above.

Step 4.

You're almost done! Now you can take audio from the export folder and copy+paste it right into the proper folder within the mod. You can delete the original audio from the mod folder at any time.

Also you won't need to make any changes to the .json files either unless you're creating a mod from scratch

NOTE: As of right now i have not resolved the issue of audio only playing out of one ear. I will make an update post about this once I have found a solution. Further research leads me to believe that the mod I am using is missing some file but recreating those is really easy once you know where to look. Hint: it's in the extracted vpk files

Calm and Peaceful Center - A Spiritual Story

As a guide and healing light for myself and anyone who trusts me with their best and highest potential, it’s vital for me to constantly work with the most calm and peaceful attributes of my being. Sometimes it’s challenging, especially at those times when drivers get too close, in their hurry to get somewhere just a bit quicker than is safe.

That’s just one example and I have many more that if I allow it, becomes a thief, stealing away my calm and peaceful existence. Takes some practice!

In the work, however, it’s very much easier to hold that space for calm and peaceful interactions with each and every one of you who is deeply seeking your best, most gracious selves.

I have found the most grace to show up in a room where someone is transitioning from this physical life to the other realms. I used to doubt the reality of other realms, and have learned by so many times of being shown, that we exist beyond here. What a relief! That is so soothing and such a lovely knowing, particularly when life is at it’s toughest. Working in hospice and with the elderly for several years, taught me a great deal about faith, and how much more I will still never know while here in a physical body.

I learned a lot about life habits, good and not so good and about what made some peace filled, while others learned and expanded their being anxious all the time. Mostly it was the presence of the mind and how thoughts drew them in or caused them to be outside of themselves all the time. Drawing in was such a good aspect of creating calm and peace. It was easily observable.

I remember two sisters who were both losing their mum, who was my hospice patient/client. She was quite lovely for the first two weeks of me visiting her, and it seemed as though she shouldn’t even be in the system, because she was light and fun, energetic and looked healthy. Then the decline began to hit her hard, and she became less verbal, more bedridden, and her color and vitality was clearly draining away.

One daughter embraced the process, becoming more faith filled and open to the healing work I shared with her and her mum. The other sister avoided me and the reality she wasn’t facing with a passion. She was busy and moved faster than I’d ever see anyone move. The house was outrageously clean, she was so busy avoiding. My heart went out to both sisters, as they were each losing a great and beloved person. It is so easy at these times to lose our peace, calm and our center. It’s so tough to lose those we so adore. Nothing will fill that space that they took up in our lives.

Calm comes out of smiling upon the love we experienced, the moments shared, the feeling that this person touched us like no other. It’s what life is all about. To live and really love is worth everything, even with the losses we must naturally endure, just as eventually others will miss us deeply when it’s our turn to leave. Let’s stay calm and peaceful in the knowledge that this life is precious and worthy of our time and attention. Don’t rush through it, take the time to stop and appreciate it in a peaceful manner.

Reflections

Monkey: This week has been very hard in terms of teamwork. It is very hard to keep the energy high in long meetings when we are all tired or blocked creatively. Our solution has changed many times and we haven’t gone into development so I believe that has created some stress and tension. I took the initiative and addressed these issues one on one. I have made mistakes in terms of time management so I will try to improve that. I try to encourage everyone to participate in decisions but at the same time, I know I can be very insistent on my ideas. I hope to be more organized moving forward.

Xiao: After the last reflection, this week's meeting schedule is much better, and the goal of each meeting can be accomplished. But also from last week I was worried about the team's progress. But can't seem to find a good way to move forward on my own. I feel that everyone has a different background as well as different working habits. My own experience doesn't apply here. And I'm learning how to deal with these issues in a new cultural environment. So I have a lot of concerns and hesitations. But I may have been too hesitant, which caused a real delay in our progress. And because of my own inexperience in managing this type of design project. There was a lack of clarity about task and goal setting, which led to unclear time management as well. This is all something I need to reflect on as a PM.

Saleema: For me this project experience is going to be something which I will be using in all my future projects. Even after having very long and productive meetings, pitching and finalizing was not easy. At one point, I felt more confused of the whole process. There are enough lessons learned both by observing and involving in the process.

Brianna: To be quite frank, I have been leaving every meeting feeling mentally drained and exhausted. I don’t feel as though we are working efficiently as a team and I am incredibly concerned as we only have one week before the community playtest and I myself am still quite confused about the actual details/features of our solution. It has gotten to the point now where I’m so worn out that I have two thoughts battling within me. One is the perfectionist who wants to do the best she can, and the other feels defeated and wants to just accept whatever direction we’re heading in even if I’m not fond of it or if I see potential issues. I want to be proud of what we present, but I also don’t want us to keep spinning our tires in the mud as we’ve already been doing that for the past four weeks. I do not blame any one person, there is no “I” in “team” and as they say in the timeless classic Disney Channel original movie High School Musical, “We’re All In This Together”. However, I believe that our biggest issue is communication. I have been feeling a bit frustrated because I feel as though we spend so much of our time addressing issues within our team and yet these issues persist and nothing changes. I am going to try my best to view this as a learning experience so I can have a more positive outlook on the situation.

Michelle: Where to begin? I started the week with high hopes and a positive attitude as I was given the feedback to work on my “trust.” The feedback to me felt as if I was not being a team player and that is the last thing I would ever want my teammates to feel, so I went in with a positive and encouraging attitude which pushed the team to think more critically and “fool-proof” our solution. Once we all aligned on a solution/installation, we met with Jason to get a professor’s opinion before meeting with client Bill and we finished the (Wednes)day feeling on the same page. As mentioned, somehow between the hours of 10:30-12pm on Thursday, the solution had changed again?! I can see the team is stressed, concerned with timing and lastly/more concerning they/we are all SO confused; confused why the solutions keep changing. I took the time to speak to the advisors which gave me a little bit of a clearer direction, but for the first time in this course, I am experiencing a situation where the team is not on the same page. I thought my “questioning and challenging” was the root cause of why we kept changing solutions, so I took a step back - being more submissive and quiet of my thoughts, BUT noticed that exact day, two other/more instances where the solution had changed (again). Once in the (Thursday) morning before meeting with the client, and another after meeting with the client. The second instance has me even more concerned that the installation we are making is not as clear as the one pitched & greenlighted….I also took the time to speak with other cohort members to get outside perspectives which led to the idea of me chatting individually with some other team members such as the developer and PM. Once speaking with our PM, I was able to connect the dots to see and understand the root cause of why the process for our team was so challenging. Some members of the team do not recognize that when people (myself included) “question or challenge” a solution, it does not mean change the direction. When chatting with my PM, I used another analogy to explain my actions of “questioning” aka “when you have a leak in the house, do you fix the leak or do you move homes?” In that moment, I saw her lightbulb go off and understand why I ‘challenge’ or “ask critical questions.” I told her (again) my intentions are never to change the direction of the solution, but only to ensure we tweak features of OUR solution so that our installation will be that much stronger. I ended up noticing this pattern of questioning a feature leading to a re-direction, not only coming from me but my other teammates as well as from the client, which led to the end result of always changing our solution. Moving forward, it is too late to address this now as it will distract the team from the end goal, thus will put the remainder of our efforts in creating a solution and finishing the project. However, it is unfortunate we had come to this point where we are putting forth a solution that I, personally know is not my best effort but on the other hand, this is a learning experience for which I will be able to recognize quicker in the future.
