For me the ‘canon homoerotic subtext’ between brick!Valjean and Javert is really more about the parallels between Javert and Eponine, who are explicitly set up as character foils.

Brick!Javert isn’t obsessed with Valjean like he is in adaptations. He’s not psychosexually obsessed with hunting him down; he really doesn’t seem to think of him as being any different than any other criminal—- he doesn’t think about Jean Valjean much at all until after Jean Valjean saves his life.

But after the barricades, Javert’s sudden weird desperate emotions about Jean Valjean are like a twisted mirror of his character foil Eponine’s weird desperate emotions for Marius.

Some guy takes pity on them, and extends them a bit of basic impersonal kindness— and they react by descending into this violently self-destructive suicidal admiration built on self-loathing. They’re both described as making themselves the “dogs” of Marius/Valjean, the dogs of people who barely remember they exist.

And anyway! I think there is potential to explore things there in analysis and fanfiction

Ya'll I think the reactors I'm watching are Bylers, or at least multishippers, but they don't even know it 😂

They both teared up watching the iconic "I didn't say it" "You didn't have to" scene then one of them said "That was so sweet! You see what happens when you communicate?" which is legit one of the main reasons so many people prefer Byler. Because they can communicate with one another and it's a much healthier relationship 😂

Ok it is time to show off my newly acquired blades. Of which there are many.

Yesterday, I got this damascus switchblade and this damascus butterfly knife. Both are things that are hard to find online, since there's varying legalities for them across the states. Both legal in Indiana tho ❤️

& a set of naruto kunai, since I've been so naruto brained recently.

And Today, I got:

A kukri! Which I wanted bc it's one of the blades you can have as Joker in p5

This damascus sword. Which is BEAUTIFUL, and probably my favorite of the bunch. She be oily, as a damascus, but she's so fuckin pretty. Just look at that hilt. I'm in love.

AND FINALLY, the longboy that's as long as my leg. Not as flashy as the damascus sword, but they're both real blades (as opposed to my prior swords, which are all cheap shit, even if they're beloved). And, again. This one is as long as my leg.
