When you call him, he doesn’t answer. It pisses you off more than you care to admit, but you refuse to give up. At this point, you’re not even calling him because you’re needy. You just want him. So that’s why you decide to get in your car and show up at his apartment instead, fully ready to embarrass yourself in front of his roommates.

Arriving at his place, you hesitate. Going upstairs means you’re giving into this cycle again—after he’s left you twice, you think you have the power to make him stay. At the very least, you think, you deserve an explanation for his sudden change of heart.

You make it upstairs, standing outside the door for longer than you’d care to admit. Laughter filters through the door, and you cringe at the thought of all of them being home. And Mark being happy without you. After he ignored your call, too.

With an eye roll, you work up the courage to knock. You’re only standing there for a few seconds before Jeno opens the door. As soon as he sees you, his eyes widen.

“What are you doing here?” he asks.

“Wow, hello to you, too.” You scoff. “Is Mark here? I need to talk to him?”

“I…I don’t think this is a good time.” He looks over his shoulder, inhaling sharply. “Yeah, you need to go.”

“Jeno, be fucking for real right now.” You give him a slight shake of your head, narrowing your eyes at him.

“Who is it?” Jaemin appears around the corner, shoulder bumping Jeno’s as he halts. He has a similar reaction to Jeno’s. “Aren’t you two—”

“You know what, I’ll just go. Tell him I stopped by, if you want.” You turn around, but Jaemin grabs your wrist.

“What are you doing?” Jeno asks.

“Let her in.” Jaemin shrugs, tugging you toward the inside of the apartment. “Not our business.”

The two men step aside and let you through, and you stare at them in confusion as they cross their arms over their chests like a couple of bodyguards. You soon realize why Jeno wanted to send you home. Sitting on the couch is Mark, his arm around a girl you don’t recognize. Your heart lodges in your throat before you get a grip, and your jaw drops.

He doesn’t notice you until after he’s done whispering something in her ear. You ignore the burning sensation in your eyes, and right when he sees you, you’re already turning around to walk back out. There’s clearly no reason for you to stay, so you aren’t going to put up an argument for a man who gives up and moves on that easily.

 “(Y/N)--” Mark calls out behind you, but you barely hear it from the end of the hallway you’re at.

You have a few seconds to choose between the elevator and the stairs. He has more of a chance of catching up to you if you wait, so you opt for the latter. You slam the door open, moving as quickly down floor-by-floor as your body will take you. Not even ten minutes ago, you wanted to be with him. To lie in peace like you used to before. Now? Now you want to get as far away from him as possible.

There’s no coming back from this—not that there should have been in the first place after what he did to you the past couple weeks. He catches up to you when you fumble with your car keys, unable to find the fob for some reason.

“Can you wait a second? Please?”

You drop your hands to your sides, turning to look at him. “Why?”

“Because I…I don’t know. You’re here for a reason, right?”

“Yeah, Mark, I was.” You scoff, shaking your head at him. “What the fuck am I supposed to do with what I just saw?”

“I thought you didn’t care. After all this time, I thought you didn’t want what I did. What did you come here for?” he asks, pleads, eyes wide and sparkling in the starlight. You swallow past the lump in your throat.

“It doesn’t matter.”

“It does.”

“Not to me. Not anymore.”

“What did you come here for?” The sternness of Mark’s voice surprises you, and you recoil at the sound of it.

“Do I really have to spell it out for you?” You massage your forehead. “I came here for you. You ignored my phone call, and I wanted to see you.”

“I didn’t ignore it on purpose,” he tells you, stepping closer. “I haven’t even been on my phone all day. You know I’d never ignore you.”

“You were literally just all up on another girl.” You snort.

“I thought you weren’t an option. How else am I supposed to get over you?”

Get over you? What does that even mean? This whole time, the entire year you spent together, none of it was real. The two of you needed to get off, and it was an arrangement you both willingly set. What was there to get over?

“What are you saying?” you ask, even though the realization is dawning on you faster than you’d like.

“I’ve…” He pauses, avoiding eye contact with you. “I’ve been in love with you for months. You didn’t know?”

An unknown force slams into you, almost enough to send you reeling backward. The confession hangs in the air like a dense fog, so thick and palpable you could cut it with a butter knife. He waits and waits for you to say something, but you’re at a loss for words. You have no idea how to take that information, and the longer you let it sit, the more it makes your stomach turn in on itself.

“I guess you didn’t know.” He clears his throat, wetting his lips as he runs his fingers through his hair.

“Don’t say those things to me,” you breathe out. “You don’t get to say those things to me after everything you’ve done.”

“Everything I’ve done?”

“Seriously? You’ve left me twice in just the past two weeks, and right after you fucked me. Do you know how that makes me feel? Has someone ever made you feel like that? And then I come here and you’re all over someone else. How am I ever supposed to reciprocate those feelings for you when you act like a fucking teenager and not ever tell me?” Your frustration grows the more you talk, the more you realize how doomed the two of you really are if this is the way he communicates.

“I barely even know her—”

“Have you slept with her yet?” you snap, crossing your arms over your chest.

“Come on, dude.” He frowns. “Do you know me at all? No, I haven’t slept with her. I don’t even want to.”

“So you hang all over random girls all the time?” You unlock your car. “I’m leaving. Do us both a favor and don’t call me.”

You turn, gripping the handle. Before you know what’s happening, his palm slams against the window to stop you from opening the door. You take a shuddering breath, terrified of turning around and being so close to him. His chest is against your back.

“Mark, let me go.”

“No.”

“Mark.”

“Didn’t you hear what I said?” he asks. “I love you.”

You whip around when you finally work up the courage to look at him. “You wouldn’t have done any of those things if you did.”

“I thought you knew. I thought you were talking about forever and staying with me every night to keep me with you. And I was okay with it for so long, but then I just broke. I don’t know how else to explain it. But is that true? Do you want me around because you don’t want to be lonely or because you want me?” He leans closer to you, the faint smell of his familiar cologne drifting up. His brown eyes shine, begging you for the answer you both know is true.

“I would never do that to you,” you reply, voice thick. “But if that’s what you think, I’ve been right this whole time. You’re better off with whoever that girl is in there. Let me go.”

“I can’t.” His tone sharpens briefly, and he grimaces at his outburst. “I can’t. I love you, damn it. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted, and I refuse to let you walk away until I know whether or not you feel the same. I want to hear you say it.”

Your jaw quivers as all of the emotions buried deep in your chest force their way up your throat. Heart twisting violently in your chest, you feel as if you’re crumbling in on yourself. If you tell him the truth, you won’t leave. You won’t be strong enough to.

“Mark…”

“Tell me, and I’ll let you go. I just need to know.” As a tear slips down your cheek, he reaches up to brush it away. “Please.”

“Of course, I love you, you idiot.” You smack his chest, but you’re so weak, it doesn’t even make a sound. “How could you ever think I’d do those things to you?”

A thousand emotions cross over his face, like the world has split open beneath his feet, ready to swallow him whole. This is everything he’s ever wanted, yet it’s not right. This isn’t how you two were supposed to end up.

“My God,” he chokes out. “My fucking God, you love me. And I-I…fuck.” He steps back, hands running down his face.

You stay silent, staring down at your feet as you sniffle. There’s little that could fix this anymore, and you both know it. You don’t want to leave him anymore, even though the weight of all of this is soul-crushing.

“What can I do?” he asks, snapping to attention. “Please say I can fix this. Whatever you need me to do, I’ll do it.”

“I don’t know.” You shrug. “There’s nothing. I need to go.”

“Are you coming back?” His words shatter the quiet, calm atmosphere and turn it into something completely different. Awkwardness sinks into the night air around you, even when all you want to do is run into his arms and stay there.

But you have to keep your strength. You have to know if he’ll actually respect you.

“I don’t know,” you say honestly, fidgeting with your hands. “I have to think about all of this. How do I know you’ll be any different?”

“You’re right,” he agrees, breaking the newfound distance he created. Brushing your hair behind your ear, he gulps. “I don’t want you to go, so don’t think that’s what I’m saying. But I do want you to feel like you can, whenever you want or need to. Before you go…Can I kiss you? Just once.”

Your mouth opens for the words threatening to spill out, but you can’t force anything out. Even though you shouldn’t, you nod, craving the feeling of his lips on yours. If it’s the last time, you’ll be able to cherish it as the only real kiss the two of you ever shared. The only one where everything is on the table.

He leans in, pressing his lips to yours with a gentle fervor in an attempt to show you exactly what he’s feeling. Your entire body is shaking at this point. You hope he doesn’t notice, but you know it’s no use with him so close.

After a year of sleeping together, he’s never kissed you like this before. Like the world depended on it, like he’d fall apart at the seams if he hadn’t been granted permission. Much too soon, he pulls away, resting his forehead against yours with his eyes closed.

“I’m so sorry,” he whispers. “I never wanted to do this to you. I love you.”

“I love you, too.” You almost reach out for him when he moves away.

Leaning against your car, you watch as he walks backward to keep his gaze on yours. Once he’s inside the doors and no longer able to see you, you get in your car and break down. You have no idea what to believe—if he’s being honest about the girl he was with or even about his reasoning for everything before.

It makes sense, but that doesn’t make it okay. You have a lot to think about, and as the tears stream down your face, you swear you see him through his third-floor window when you finally glance up to leave.

At 10AM their Q&A panel started

I was in disbelief seeing Alex, Arnas, Mark and Timothy

Tell me some of ur headcanons, no matter how obscure, small, or seemingly insignificant

SRY THIS TOOK SO LONGGGG i. forgort BUT HERE R A FEW !!! :D some of these are my own and some of these are me parroting things ive heard from the haunted discord that i love (u should totally join the discord btw its fun i can give an inv to anyone not already there if anyone wants one!!)

-Drakes issues regarding tone and reading the room, such as 1) his default mode of speaking being thru sarcasm (no hes really not always trying to be rude, thats just how he communicates 😭), and 2) cracking jokes or quips at inappropriate times (like when graysons house was burning down and drake was all like “wow grayson sure does love his secret hatches lawl” and “he should really rethink his escape routes for next time haha!” like drake this is NOT THE TIME). Im not saying hes NOT sassy or rude (because he totally is <3) but like. its not ALWAYS ON PURPOSE OK LMAO he is autistic 🫶

-somewhat related to this is that i hc that he says cheesy lines like “erm… hes RIGHT behind me isnt he” and “um guys, you MIGHT wanna take a look at this…” all the time, and he does so bcs he repeats phrases hes read in books (or from movies/shows he saw before traveling to the future or whatever) a lot. either that or he just Says That Stuff which is almost funnier

-drakes sleeping schedule SUCKS dude and a big parta that is cuz enderman are nocturnal and his internal clock is all messed up. (the water up on his mountain canonically helps him sleep tho im pretty sure?)

-his bodys kinda awkward to move around in, and hes always tripping over his feet or bumping into stuff (hes just like me fr….)

-this ones odd, but the subspecies of enderman that drake is fused(??) with have rings all over their body that they use to light up dark areas (such as caves), and to communicate (blinking lights like fireflies, bright flashes to intimidate others, are dim when sick, etc). Theyre able to control this using their natural magic or whatever. HOWEVERRR drake is unable to control his himself! His rings are stuck at a set brightness, and he cant “turn them off”, leading him to always be expelling a small but steady amount of magic. This is part of why he runs out of mana faster than other magic users/enderman, and is part of why he tries not to waste his mana when possible.

-related to above, hes not ab magic doesnt last very long, but is very volatile and powerful in bursts. this is the OTHER reason he doesnt use magic willy nilly .. he has to learn how to harness it properly or else he might end up hurting people by accident (this might literally be canon but i thought id mention it anyway)

-in the haunting one, hes always stating things abt himself that we never actually get to see (like when he calls himself the builder, or good at parkour, or when armen said that he had a problem with breaking windows???? 😭) so i like to think that those are just collins memories slipping thru the cracks, and those memories dont rly belong to/are about drake at all. theres probably other shared fuzzy memories he has from collin too (like ruby shire perhaps) so thats super fun to play with!! I think this might actually be also canon but yk

-ARMEN iiii love this guy ok so i love to hc that, after hes revived/saved (IF you want to go that route!), he comes back not dead, but not quite alive either…. hes like sorta half and half to me lol. or maybe hes alive, but coming back to life has some side effects (like being cold all the time for example). Hes also suuuper sleepy all the time after hes saved LET HIM SNOOZE dude.

as much as it pains me, I also love the hc that armen comes back with his memory wiped (i think this is close to where the intended canon was supposed to head as well!). You can either go the “his memory is totally wiped, which effectively makes him a new person” route, the “his memory is wiped back to the fall into the lava, right before HB possessed him” route, or the “his memory gets wiped to before HB was involved in his life whatsoever” route. I like all 3 options aaaah idk what my favorite is!!! i’ll probably talk in depth abt these in a different post later bcs the fact that it adds more parallels between him and collin/drake makes me insane. either way he will sometimes have unexplainable deja-vu and things will feel familiar to him.

-armen is super cold all the time (always wearing sweaters and stuff) while drake is super warm all the time (always wearing thin clothes. but this is cuz hes always expelling some sorta magical energy involuntarily, so when he runs outta mana he gets cold as well) this isnt important or anything i just like it :3c

-i like to think that despite his affinity towards it before the fall, he tries to avoid combat & conflict when possible post-possession/revival. very “uhh im a lover not a fighter haha ..” (<- could kick your butt if he tried) vibes. or maybe he lost all combat ability post revival and totally sucks now !! either way man just wants to chill (he is traumatized)

-MIA shes lowkey scared of being on the water after her and her sisters shipwreck, the day she was captured by the empire. she probably slips back into familiarity when they take over that airship one time tho- maybe she gets an airship of her own in the future o:? haunted group sky pirate crew when 🤨???

-along with magic, she also GETS INTO ALCHEMY/CHEMISTRY !!! its like.. magic ??? without needing to provide any ACTUAL magical power yourself?? thats so fucking sick ok. She and drake do magicy-sciencey experiments together and they end up blowing stuff up a lot. despite what drake says, they BOTH enjoy the chaos.

-mia and armen would be BEST. FRIENDS. i think abt mia armen friendship literally all the time they would be so chaotic and thoughtful with each other i love mia armen friendship sm. maybe mia helps style his hair like hers since its grown out later :] They are so sibling core to me

-related to both yhings above, she shares her love of learning with armen. They learn tons of random stuff together :D chemistry archeology history magic biology etc. Mia loves learning anything she can get her hands on, and armen feels the need to learn everything he missed while he was gone.

(sidenote: if he comes back with completely wiped memory, him learning all different sorts of subjects is him trying to figure out what he enjoys, and who he is as a person. “building himself up from ground zero”. and mias glad to help ): <3)

-grayson my GUY dude ok. not rly a hc and more of an observation but i loooove how hes so serious and pessimistic all the time but hes also like…. friendly (yet distrusting) and silly (devouring and entire cake and being all like “:D” with a flower crown and slimey friend) like idk i just looav that contrast its yummy. cruel world forcing his joyous whimsey into hiding </3

-finds a sickening comfort in loneliness, while also being deeply afraid of it. no it is not healthy. i might have to describe this later, as ive not found the words to do so yet.!!! maybe others can add onto this if they wish :)))

-His wife was fucking awesome ok. She was totally anti-empire and wrote many pamphlets that hurt the emperor & his followers image under an anonymous name that spread around the public like wildfire. Did she initially start dating grayson to get more info on the empire without his knowledge? Was she herself high up in the empires chain of command, helping get grayson the job in the first place? Did grayson know and help his wife with her endeavors(im leaning towards yes but no would be fun)? idk but she was awesome and they committed treason together and were in love

-idk if im totally down with the idea, but graysons wife and/or kid ending up being ALIVE…. MANNN THAT COULD BE SO GOOD. SO DRAMA INDUCING. GRRRR i wanna play with this later

-if i start talking abt drake and grayson friendship i will not shut up about it so ill keep it BREIF ….. they are ambiguously romantic/ALMOST queerplatonic to me. they dont care abt labeling what they are, partially bcs they CANT. they r life partners who hold hands and find comfort in the others consistency and the stability their friendship brings. grayson calls drake his “darling husband” for shits and giggles and drake glares at him (while very obviously smiling). Can I ask a question? You moved into your house not that long ago right? Have you done any house projects since you moved in? Or discovered any house secrets?

Most of the weird house stuff was stuff that literally drew me to want to buy it in the first place tbh

Like the photos were pleasantly honest! (Which is great considering I bought this bitch ONLINE without ever seeing it in person hahaha 🫠)

Like I can tell that whoever made this house wanted to make something original and quirky and I'm in love with it. There are so many weird angles and design choices with zero rhyme or reason. like why do those walls connect at a 30° angle like that?? Why are there beams everywhere? What shape is that room even supposed to be???

It's just.. FUN. Literally when I saw the pictures on zillow for this place, I was like "weird!" But then saved it. And then returned to it over and over again while looking at other places and eventually I just knew it was the one. Like I couldn't get it out of my mind

But like, how could I pass it up? It was less than 200k$ and 2300 square feet on 5 acres of land down a wooded lane!! J-j-j-jackpot!

There are some totally weird and funky design choices and there's a lot I WANT to do.

Some examples (ignore lazy or nonexistent decorating, i havent gotten around to doing anything yet):

There's this nasty ass wall paneling throughout like 1/3rd of the house that looks like the walls of a motor home and I HATE IT. It's ugly and stupid and I tore off one panel to see what was underneath and guess what! It's normal wall! (Ignore hot lady calendar)

Except the glue from the paneling kinda ripped off parts of it but like THEY JUST GLUED THIS SHIT ON OVER WALLPAPER?? WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? JUST REMOVE THE WALLPAPER AND PAINT, ITS SO MUCH EASIER THAN THROWING UP THIS UGLY BULLSHIT. ugh

So like yeah I wanna remove all of that, but it's gonna be a big project because there's a LOT and some of it is underneath the cabinets in the kitchen. Yikes.

Pretty much every ceiling is tall and slanted in some weird way, which makes me dread painting because how am I supposed to paint super high up like that when I only got a 7 foot ladder???

The house is 1.5 stories too, which means that there's a partial upstairs that is essentially just a little loft thing that looks out over the living room and then this small, strange room we affectionately refer to as "Travis's room" for reasons I think will soon be obvious....

We will honestly probably have to hire a contractor to come look at this upstairs area because part of the ceiling is like... collapsing? And all gross and dirty? (Kinda visible in that second photo) It's not attached to the roof so like, the outside is fine and isn't leaking or in danger of caving in but idk it's just kinda weird and I have no idea what the thought process was for this whole upstairs area. Like what is this narrow little sliver of room here? (Ignore hot wheels tracks)

And the ceiling fan next to the staircase is SO CLOSE lmao if it's on and you lean even a little bit over the railing, you're getting brained. Like in this pic I'm not reaching out, just lifting my arm to touch it (ignore dust, I don't clean and you can't make me)

The living room is really big but it's also weirdly shaped so organizing my furniture is a nightmare. Especially since there's a pellet stove (currently not working) on one wall. (ignore dirty socks, mismatched cheap lamps, messy cat tree corner behind couch, big ugly coffee table I got for free that used to be black until I sanded it down but then got bored and left it as is)

As of right now, I haven't done much to the place because wow apparently home improvement takes effort and costs money??? Go figure. And we've been pretty broke lately so I've just been collecting ideas for the time being.

I am absolutely gonna start painting this year though. My bedroom rn is just boring white so I wanna fix that. Maybe do something dark and warm like a dark brown or green or hmm something like that. The room I've been calling the "gym" (because that's where I put the treadmill) will probably get done next since it's such a blank slate and should be easy to fix up.

And I absolutely want to mess around with my office because the way it's arranged and decorated rn is lame. They painted a bunch of rooms an ugly ass flat brown color, including several closets, my office, and the spare bathroom so THATS got to go.

I want to start decorating for real, finally buy some frames for the art I've been collecting so I can hang them up on some of these tall ass walls.

I also have plans to make a catio out back and even have a bunch of wood and some of the frames constructed but I got bored and abandoned it haha 😄

Oh and I want to reeeeally start doing stuff with the outside. I want to plant trees and maybe do a garden this year, tear up the plants I don't want and replace them with ones I do, clean up the big ass plot of land that's just overgrown brush and weeds and maybe make it into an orchard? Get some fruit trees and make some cute little rows? Maybe I'll even build a fence and a pond and put flowers everywhere. You know, for the bugs 💌🐝🐛🦋🕷

Now i just need to win a million dollars so I can afford to do it all 🥲

The So-Called Peter Hale

Steter | 1.7k | T AU-gust Prompt 9: Coffee Shop AU

Summary: Stiles has had bad luck with dating apps. This Peter Hale guy might be worse luck than usual.

The problem, Stiles decides, is that this so-called “Peter Hale” is clearly catfishing him.

“No ten who can turn to anyone anywhere would reach out to a six first. Even on a bad day. A six point five,” he amends, considering.

“At least a seven,” Erica replies, fiddling with the broken group head on the espresso machine.

It’s a slow afternoon at the cafe, somewhere in the sweet spot between the lunch rush and the after-work crowd, and they’re taking care of some idle busywork in the rare downtime. Or at least Erica is. Stiles has been distractedly cleaning the same spot on the counter for five minutes straight.

“Clearly, someone swiped the photos of some hot European model,” he adds, “and they’re using them on the off-chance they can trick me to a second location and steal my organs.”

Erica turns to snort at him. “What if he’s just a hot dude?”

“No way. This hot?” 

Stiles throws down his cleaning rag to pull his phone out of his pocket. When she leans in to see the profile, she makes a considering hm. 

“Okay, actually…he could be a hot European model. He has that look.”

“Right? The ‘I spend most of my free time on my abs’ look.”

“Tell me he does not have abs pics,” Erica retorts, grinning as she grabs the phone to look. Again, she pauses, and there’s that hm. “Wow, he’s jacked. But it’s way more tasteful than I thought it would be.”

“Yeah, cause whatever toad-looking organ trafficker who’s really behind this knows that’s all it takes, washboard abs. Look at that one, those biceps. Look at that jawline.”

“It’s a pretty strong jawline,” Erica agrees. “His profile says he’s a finance analyst…frequent traveler…and ‘ambitious.’”

“Like, I have reasonable expectations here. I’m good with what I get, which is like, people in my semi-hot category who sometimes reject me. When I get the occasional smokin’ hot dude, it actually turns out to be someone who stole the photos of his hot cousin, which I should have taken as a bad omen before he stole my credit card and tried to max it out. Or it’s the one who turns out to be ‘just checking in’ on his ex, but it’s occasionally with his dick. Which is why I should stop matching with hot dudes.”

“God, I forgot about him. What a piece of shit. I can still kick him in the balls for you, I know where he lives.”

“Thanks, but no thanks,” Stiles sighs. “Knowing him, he’d probably get off on that.”

“Okay. Well, this guy—the new guy, Peter or whatever—what if he’s the real deal? I mean, if he’s actually a human being with that face who took pictures of himself?”

“Again, that’s almost worse! Even if this guy is real, hot people who are like, nines and above are super shitty people who’ve been handed everything always and forever their whole lives. Except you, obviously.”

“Obviously.”

“Which means he’s guaranteed to be weird or an asshole. I’ve been burned too many times not to know this.”

“Maybe. But he like…super-liked you or whatever. To make sure you saw him.”

“Yeah, but it still definitely feels safer to just swipe left. Avoid the drama.”

“Hm,” Erica says again. And then she swipes right.

Stiles stares in blank horror for a full five seconds afterward. “What the fuck!” he hisses, grabbing the phone from her, as if he can take back what she’s done.

“You never know,” she says slyly. “Plus, do it for me. I’m still living vicariously through your dates.”

Stiles throws his hands in the air. “What does that even mean? You and Boyd are a fucking power couple!”

“Doesn’t mean I can’t use you for entertainment purposes. But it’s kinda boring when you’re going on safe dates with fumbling frat boys.” She grins at the outrage on his face. “Try something dangerous.”

“You laugh now, but when I’m murdered in a basement by some creep wearing this dude’s face, you’ll be sorry you used that word.”

“And tell me when the guy sends his first dick pick.”

“No,” he sighs, “I cut the cord after the first creepy thing happens. Like that guy who literally said he wanted to ‘feed me his cream.’ That was his pickup line. What do I even do with that?”

Though she looks appropriately horrified, Erica can’t hold back her cackling laughter.

When the first message comes a short while later, it’s not creepy at all: Cute smile, sweetheart. I was hoping we’d match. How’s the day treating you?

The words seem…too innocuous. Too sincere. 

Stiles is absolutely not going to take the bait. Even if it’s very tempting bait. 

“No way you’re a normal dude,” he mutters, frowning suspiciously at his phone. After a beat, he slides it back into his pocket.

Two days later, those innocuous words are starting to look much more tempting. But that’s part of the siren song, isn’t it? Stiles tries to tell himself.

“I mean, it’s already been one crappy date this week,” he grumbles to Erica. “Do I want to risk making it two? Should I message the organ thief after all?

“Which one’s he again?” Erica asks distractedly, scowling at her misshapen drawing on the chalkboard. Stiles is pretty sure it’s supposed to be a muffin, but it looks more like a melted circus tent. “And wait, what was the bad date?

“You know. That guy who thought road head was the least I could do, even though we went to a chain restaurant and he wouldn’t let me pay. Or maybe I was complaining to Boyd about that.”

“You’ve literally had worse luck with dating in the past month than anyone I’ve ever met.”

“Tell me about it,” Stiles frowns. “Anyway. What am I saying, I’m not going from crazy to hot and crazy. That’s stepping into an even lower circle of hell.”

The organ thief appears in the coffee shop one afternoon, and if Stiles wasn’t expecting it, it’s only because he never thought the dude even existed on this side of the Atlantic.

He shows up right after the lunch rush, standing at the order counter, and Stiles catches him staring as he comes out of the back with another tray of muffins. 

Stiles stumbles, and for a panicked second he thinks oh my god I was actually right and he’s some stalker hunting for another victim. He mentally combs through his profile pictures, trying to figure out how the guy could have possibly tracked him down at his workplace.

Except that the guy looks almost as surprised as Stiles is that he’s standing in line here, as if some cosmic being plucked him from afar to deposit him here against his will.

“Peter,” Erica calls, sliding a coffee onto the counter. She clearly doesn’t recognize him, and it takes her a second to pick up on the weird vibes filling the room.

“Hello,” the guy says, looking torn between confusion and amusement. His lips curl upward, just like they do in that one profile photo of him by the ocean, which Stiles definitely hasn’t scrutinized multiple times. “You’re the one from the—”

“Holy shit,” Stiles blurts stupidly, zeroing in on the lack of accent. “You’re not even European.” 

The so-called Peter Hale looks patently confused, and even borderline annoyed. “No,” he says, drawing out the words as if speaking to a small child, “why would I be?”

“Uh…no reason.” Out of the corner of his eye, he watches Erica slowly retreat toward the back door, though she hovers at the threshold instead of actually using it. “Are you also not…some swimsuit model who posts half-naked photos publicly online where anyone could download and use them for identity theft?”

“I’m a financial analyst,” the man says flatly. “It’s in my profile. You are Stiles, right? Stiles Stilinski?”

“How did you know where I work?” Stiles asks desperately.

“I don’t. I live four blocks from here. And Birch Street Cafe is closed for renovations.”

“What the fuck,” Stiles mutters. A thought occurs to him. “Oh my god. Wait. Am I in the wrong here?”

“You never replied to my message,” the man says. He reaches out to grab the coffee cup but doesn’t pick it up, lingering at the counter. His eyebrows rise, as if Stiles has done something funny by having a minor mental crisis. His eyes are bright blue. And that jaw. And those biceps.

“That’s because—you were clearly not a real person,” Stiles says weakly.

Peter blinks, and then he looks down at himself and back up at Stiles.

Stiles is pretty sure this is going to be funny in the near future, but a part of him is absolutely mortified. Almost enough to throw down his apron and flee the scene forever, without even coming back for his last paycheck.

“I mean, you are a real person, obviously,” he adds, jumping at the chance to explain, “but I figured some troll was obviously using the photos of a hot dude to get attention, because there was no way you were just a normal guy walking around a nowhere place like Beacon Hills.”

“I can assure you, I’m just a normal guy walking around a nowhere place like Beacon Hills,” the guy deadpans.

“Uh-huh,” Stiles says weakly, and okay, maybe there’s a bit of humor in all this. Maybe. “I’m not convinced.” And there’s always a catch.

“Then what can I do to convince you?” Peter smirks, leaning onto the counter. It occurs to Stiles that this man is actually fucking flirting after this trainwreck.

“He’s on break,” Erica pipes up. Both of them turn to her. She’s looking a little too smug about this for Stiles’s liking. “He’s taking his fifteen. Starting now.”

Stiles huffs out an incredulous laugh. “I was—

“Yep, starting now,” Erica interrupts, shooing him away. “And I think you mean to say, ‘Thanks, Erica,’” she adds in a whisper.

Stiles snaps his mouth shut and looks at the guy, at Peter, who just offers him a shrug, his expression looking satisfied in a distinctly catlike way. 

Slowly, he takes off his apron, finding himself returning the smile. “Okay. Then…I guess you have fifteen minutes to convince me that you’re normal.”

“Oh, I never said I was normal,” Peter retorts as Stiles slips around the counter. “But I think you’ll enjoy it anyway.”

This feels as if he is fading from reality and going back to one where Max didn't say that and he is the one saying "I love you" here. There's something about this scene and the way you wrote it. I can't explain it but I am amazed by it.

As a side note, for some reason, I kept getting extremely sleepy during this one. You could hold a gun to my head and ask me what they say and I'll have to take the hit, sorry.

Also, if you saw my summary for this track before, I was waaaay off the mark on some things Terra said. When I first listened to it back then, I did it by ear (usually I like to type up the whole script in Japanese, when I did those summaries I simply wrote what I first heard) and ended up making some mistakes. Anyways, without further ado

also yes, even though seth is my mc, he has his card and his voicelines as well because. um. i wanted to write his voicelines. THAT'S IT THAT'S THE REASON DHDJKSSKSK. i'm not sure if i actually see him as "playable", but i think it would be nice if his and minnie's cards could be used as "support cards" for battles and exams, basically like a buddy bonus. also you could use their cards for lessons too!! it would be so cute to see them studying with nrc students 🥺🥺

card description: he's talking to rollo while they walk together and grim looks tired of him and he's thinking of running away from his owner. as for the groovified version, you can see seth smiling and dancing with someone and it seems to be rollo. he's also not wearing his hat, his mask and his cape and his hair looks more messy than usual, however, he's having fun. for the first two items, he lost them while the whole magic user genocide thing's been happening and for his cape.. he just took it off to make rollo and malleus pay attention to him. and it worked because of his shoulders being open. yeah, scandalous.

summon: "this city is, like, so cool! i honestly wouldn't mind living here- hey, grim-chan, wait for me!"

groovy: "hehe, you thought i'll just stand there and let you dance with that guy? sorry, but i've been waiting too long for this moment."

Do you consider Jimin to be a "bootlicker" of the company? These opinions are now being voiced more often after BangPD dropped that selfie. I wish he had uploaded the main man of that day Hobi's pictures first. He did not do right by Hobi. Jungkook's relationship with BangPD is a mystery too. If Jimin has a good relationship there is no reason to think he also does not have the same. But as much as the hyungs dote on JK I never saw PD doting on JK at least openly.

Milan 2 Spezia 1 Ratings...and some other stuff

One of those days...

Wasn't planning on putting Brahim on the graphic above but I think the pic captures the day quite well, LOL.

Going to do this a little bit different than the normal ratings piece, both in layout and content. Rather than going player by player, I'm going to talk about the team and then the coaching. After that will be the Champions League draw and then the remaining games this week (and other league stuff) before the World Cup break.

RATINGS

Team

Overall, I think they team played very sharp the first 60min. Like VERY sharp. The passing was crisp, the ball moved around well, the energy was high as was the defensive pressure. I would probably give them a 8 or 9 out of 10 for those first 60min and a 7.5 out of 10 overall for game.

The first goal was a gem, both the pass from Bennacer and the settle/touch/finish from Theo. But...this was about the only thing that went right. It felt like every 3-4min Milan would get close but the final ball, be it a pass during a counter or a shot on goal, would take the slightest deflection and be taken off track. This probably happened about 8-10 times in the first half, not joking. I remember seeing passes from Brahim nicking the backheel of a defender who wasn't even trying to stick his foot out to defend, or shots somehow being stopped by the keeper or taking the slightest grazing touch off a defender's boot or some other body part. It was extremely frustrating.

As to the players, Origi had a really good first 20-25min, was really moving well and was in sync with the other forward players. Speaking of the other forward players, they all looked sharp as did the midfield. The backline players played well as well and we even had good Tomori on this day. Both assists came from the double pivot, both on great passes (and Tonali had a beautiful strike from outside the 18yd box that was disallowed on BS).

Speaking of BS...wow, the refereeing was GARBAGE. Big shoutout to @Bird79 who called this sh*tty performance before the game even started with the first comment in the matchday post. No exaggeration but the refs probably missed 6-8 last-touch calls, unless they saw something we didn't on the supposed foul by Tomori that ended up disallowing the Tonali goal, that call was nonsense. They handed out 9...9 yellows and a red (only the second yellow on Giroud was obviously correct but he shouldn't have gotten the first one to begin with). Serie A, gotta be better with this. My god.

Lastly, Giroud with a beaut of a game winner. Yes, he should've known/remembered about the first yellow but I can understand the excitement. So he gets a pass from me. Glad he's here and has been a phenomenal signing by Maldini & Co.

Champions League Draw

Milan drew Tottenham and considering the other options I'm 100% fine with this. Getting Conte is just another added bonus. The first leg is scheduled for February 14, 2023 and I'm sure your significant others will be completely on board if you push off any Valentine's Day plans for a drinking fest at the local pub watching Milan beat Tottenham.

Tottenham had the lowest point total out of any group winner and they didn't have the strongest group to navigate either. There's probably a few different reasons here, and some will point out Conte's European success - or lack thereof - but I just don't think they're some powerhouse. I think playing against Conte, someone Milan knows well, is a bonus as well.

If Conte plays Conte-ball and sits back and tries to counter then it's going to be a slog. I'm talking 1-1 or 2-2 after both legs type-of-a-slog. I don't know that Milan has enough quality up front to score more than say, over 2 goals over 2 legs with a packed-in Conte squad and I don't think Conte can counter his way past the backline if the backline is healthy (so Kalulu and Tomori as the CB pairing) since it'll be difficult for them to get behind those 2 and beat Magic Mike.

Still lots of unknowns at this point, including reinforcements in January, the WC, health, all of that. But, BUT Milan is back in the knockouts since the 2013-14 season and it feels good!

Serie A

So we all know Milan eeked out a victory and snared all 3pts this past week. Maybe it doesn't feel huge in scope but with Napoli coming back and beating Atalanta yesterday would've meant they were 9pts clear of Milan at the top (and 8pts overall). So if Milan is within striking distance in say, March, don't say I didn't tell you to think back to the 89th minute winner by Giroud in this game.

As for Napoli, they are undoubtedly flying high right now. So, the question is, "are they this good?". I for one do not think they are this good even if they've played lighted out so far. A regression will come and it's more a matter of if Milan can keep themselves in position to overtake them, especially with CL knockout aspirations. Yes, Napoli have CL obligations too but it's a bit easier to be in front than to be the ones chasing.

The other teams chasing the top 4 had some matches against each other, with Lazio beating Roma and Juventus beating Inter. I'm still not convinced Atalanta will truly stay in the chase for the top 4 as I think Milan, Napoli, and Lazio are the top 3 teams, but it's going to be a dogfight for that #4 spot between Atalanta, Juventus, Roma, and Inter (Udinese are starting to tumble).

Remaining Games before the World Cup

Milan play tomorrow vs Cremonese and then against Fiorentina on Sunday. They should beat Cremonese even with Giroud out serving a red card suspension for taking his shirt off but man, I don't know about Fiorentina. It feels like every Fiorentina game the last 2-3yrs is a trap game. I know Fiorentina is probably the worst they've been in the last 3yrs but still. They just feel like a boogieman. Either way, Milan is 6pts back of Napoli right now, they need to be at least 6pts back come the WC break.

The injuries have slowed down some and just need to hope that continues. With minimal absences coming from the WC, Milan will need to be fresh come January so they can make a serious push for back-to-back Scudettos and that second star.

Not sure what to post

I'm not sure what to post. I guess an update of life? Or is that boring? Probably do that anyway. I guess I should update about my fandoms, cosplays, fan fictions, and RPGs. I'll start there.

First, an update on Fandoms. This hurts. I haven't watched The Walking Dead since Negan arrived. I haven't watched Doctor Who since the 12th Doctor. I still into Harry Potter. I have devoured Star Wars lately.

Second, an update on cosplay, fan fictions, and rpg. I haven't cosplayed in two years. I haven't had money to go to cons. I haven't written a fan fiction since 2019. My husband (more about that later) wants me to get back into writing. As for RPGs, well, I'm not sure I have the time for them. If I did, it would be slow, no responding right away like I used to years ago.

As for life, well, since being on here, which seems like a lifetime ago, I have been divorced, dated, and now remarried. This is my third AND FINAL marriage. I finally found "the one." First guy I dated after my divorce was really good. The situation was bad for me. He was polyamorous and I am not. He was married and I wanted more time with him. This did not go over well after a couple of years being together. Now, I feel they were a waste of time. Reasons for this feeling come later. Then, I dated someone that took advantage of me. He stole money from me. Wrecked my house. Wrecked my life. I had to kick him out of my house. I really regret that relationship. More time wasted.

Then, I found the one I was meant to be with for the rest of my life. I had seen him times before, but never knew exactly who he was. Ironic things happened that feel like destiny now. He was the cop I had started to admire on the side of the road as he sat in his cruiser scanning for speeders. I had often thought of getting him a cup of coffee or speeding by him just to have him pull me over. But I never did. My mind told him he's probably happily married with kids. One day, he wasn't there anymore. I prayed nothing had happened to him. Then, later, I saw this guy with this cute little mixed girl playing with their dog in the front yard of a house on my way home. I thought, he looks like a nice guy. My mind told me his wife was probably inside the house making dinner or something and it also told me, perhaps not. I wanted to take a long walk just so I could walk by his house to see him and say hi. But I never did. Finally feeling lonely, depressed, and anxious that I would never find anyone, I met this guy online. He was friendly, polite (no dick pics), and easy to talk to. We met in person. We chatted. I found out he was the police officer that sat on the side of the road. He rented the house where I saw his adopted daughter, dog, and him playing in front.

Can I just say "wow!" He had been there the whole time, but I didn't know it. That's how I know he's the one I was meant to be with until we depart this world.

Okay, so that's what's new with me. I hope to chat with some of you soon!

Its been awhile since I’ve dreamt anything but i did so just now ( literally went straight here to write out my dream b4 i forget everything)

I don’t remember much of the start but what i do remember is that the setting is a theater, Stray kids was performing or one of the performers at least. After the show i kinda left with the crowd but for some reason i decided to go back inside the theater. My brother was there too

When i went back inside, i was looking for my brother? And for some reason i went on stage to lookfor him maybe. I found him but i also spotted skz members and i was shooketh (even in dream world) some were on stage (dont ask me who, its so hard to remember dreams) and some where off stage, lingering somewhere around the seats/audience area.

I was able to talk to the skz members on stage and after that when I looked around i saw my bro w the rest of skz around him off stage so i went to him to basically freak put about meeting skz. They p much laughed at me for that reaction. My bro was sitting down so when i went up to him i had my head bowed over then i started punching him.

Details get blurry again but we, my bro- skz- and i, went back on stage to take some pics and then play some games and i think dance around???

Dayum i remember feeling so happy that i wanted to dream journal all that I can remember from this but the longer i stay awake the less i remember :/ anyway!

I just remember the impression that i did something w my brother and it impressed skz so they joined us. And then my bro and i played some game that i will now call wobble wobble ( this probs stuck w me cuz the night b4, my friend was telling me to get this pc game called wobble life or something so my brain got stuck w it) where we’re facing each other and 1 person has to mimic the others dance to the beat of “wobble wobble and shake a little” like we gotta say that phrase.

When it was just us two, it was my bro making up the moves and then i had to follow. After a bit skz joined us and lined up behind my bro. If i got the move right whoever was in front of me would go back in line and the next one would make up a dance . If i didnt get the move right, i keep going w that same person(i didnt have my own line behind me since all the kids went behind my brother) until i got it right.

Tbh this was the main reason for this dream journal. I wanted to remember this game lol. But also for some reason i had this thought when i woke up that i wanted to.. document? Share? Idk. But what i thought was “wow, so stray kids and my brother are my happiness…” and really thinking about it now despite literally just waking up to write this all out. That thought holds quite some truth to it. How long it remains the truth is a mystery but for now, yes. Lmao
