Through the woodland green.

Originally completed on 15th July 2024.

My interpretation: You are lost in the woods, and you find yourself approaching a clump of dying pine trees and beyond them a clearing. The air feels still and hot. You realise that as you make your way closer to the clearing, the sounds of the forest have begun to diminish. All you can hear are your own movement and breathing. A strange tension fills the air. You feel the urge to shout or laugh but resist. You notice that the ancient maple tree in the centre of the clearing has a strange wood formation on it. Is that a seated man? You move closer to get a better look. Suddenly, the wind violently picks up. You look around wildly in shock and realise your left foot is inside the circle of toadstools. You look back to the maple as your heart begins to race. His eyes have opened.

Butterfly fountain (originally. Lepkék kútja) 2024 Acrylic on paper

It can also be moth fountain. I really just didn't want to translate it as "lepidopteran fountain", as that would have sounded unwieldy. I'm sure all lepidopterans find the waters of this fountain equally refreshing. <3 (Except the ones who don't have a mouth anymore. I suppose they won't be able to drink from it.)

No particular story behind this one except that it got itself in my mind and I quickly wanted to paint it. The scanner ate the colours a little this time, which is a pity, I tried to correct for it, but this is the best I could do. Still, it is a much, much better scanner than the previous one, and I don't think I can get a better one I can afford.
