A Sketch in Digital Decay (2024)

This hanging collage frame is a preliminary sketch for a larger installation, a prototype that condenses the core themes of my work- obsolete interfaces, digital artifacts, and the uncanny persistence of technological nostalgia.

Constructed from fragments of past interfaces and decommissioned digital aesthetics, this piece explores the tension between the ephemeral and the archival. The materials - printed circuits of lost data and reflections of outdated media - are arranged in layers, mirroring the way memory accumulates in digital space and windows open on desktop devices. Like corrupted files or glitched screen captures, the surfaces distort, refract, and fragment, resisting a singular interpretation.

By hanging freely, the frame exists in a state of suspension, untethered from traditional display methods. It oscillates between physical object and interface, inviting interaction while remaining an artifact of its own obsolescence. The final versions will be larger, immersive, meant to envelop the viewer in a landscape of broken systems and ghosted connections.

A fragmented conversation between space, text, and material residue, an interface of memories and half-loaded thoughts.

The words create a dialogue between documentation and distortion. Each element is an artifact of a moment that both happened and is still happening.

I wanted to play with punk zine aesthetics, the visual identity of net art minimalism, and post-internet debris with a detached approach to curation. There’s a clinical emptiness, but also the overwhelming sense that something is lurking beneath the surface.

With this designed instagram feed I wanted to create a void filled with digital ruins, physical leftovers, and the uncanny weight of presence - shot in a Miami-based artists studio.

# guardian...angel<3 (2024)

A simulated dialogue between memory and machine, between ghosts of the internet and the users still searching for them. This interface is a séance for the digital age where spectral voices speak in system fonts, and the past is only retrievable in fragments.

The guardian...angel<3 connects in hyperlinks. Its language is broken up between formatting buttons and misplaced emoticons. A UI built for interaction, but the conversation is determined.

A system message warns: "Your connection to the past is fading... reboot nostalgia.exe." But nostalgia is not something you reboot. It is already running in the background, embedded in the code.
