Please share all your thoughts for Frankenstein AU.. Thank you 😊
@curiousnonny
OKAY YES!! several people asked me in the tags but I wanted an ask to answer so thank you nonny ❤️
Anyway, here are my thoughts:
I started thinking about this because it's approaching Halloween season. I was like "would he be a werewolf? A vampire? A ghost?" And then I had my genius epiphany. NO. He would NOT be any of those things. You know what he is? He's a fucking Frankenstein. (Nobody better get on me about "Frankenstein is the scientist" I will BLOCK YOU)
The whole thing of Frankenstein is feeling rejected by your creator. Feeling unwanted. Feeling like a burden, a mistake, a stupid creature. Who feels like that? Our boy Peeta
To make up for people always ignoring/ forgetting he's disabled, I have decided to make him more disabled. So not only does he have a missing leg, but he also has severe chronic pain.
I think for the purposes of this story, he was created by Dr. Gaul. For no other reason than she seems like the type to do that tbh. But! At the time the story takes place, she is long dead, kind of like in Edward Scissorhands.
So Peeta sort of has free reign over this castle, but he was conditioned into submission for so long that he stays in his old habits, like sleeping in a closet in the basement.
Also because of how big he is, he was essentially trained to fear pain instead of retaliating. Otherwise, he definitely could have snapped Gaul in half and run away.
He did try to run away! And his leg was taken away as punishment.
Anyway, on to how he meets Katniss.
He can't stay in the castle forever, and so will venture out into the woods. He'll catch things like rats and eat them raw, since his food has long run out. He does feel bad about it though.
So one rainy day he's in the woods, and so is a beautiful young huntress. But she slips on some rocks and hits her head! (Or falls from a slippery tree, whichever you prefer) And he rescues her. Takes her back to the castle, tries to help her but doesn't really know how, so he just kind of sits there until she wakes up
And when she does. Well. Obviously she is very freaked out. Starts throwing things at this huge intimidating guy in a strange castle. But instead of fighting back, he gets upset and covers his head
So like, she soon realizes that this dude is incapable of hurting a fly. He's just very fucked up
But anyway, that's really all I have. Obviously they fall in love. She teaches him more things about the world. He quickly gets attached to her, feeling things he's never felt before. Then there's the question if his feelings are even real, if he's even real, etcetera.
They're just really sweet. And he's just a gentle giant. And I love it.

Re-Animator Film Facts
Some of my favourite fun facts about my favourite H.P. Lovecraft film adaptation. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Here is the original source where I found most of these facts complied, there are more here I didn’t include if you’d like to check out the full article!
✶ ✶ ✶
Stuart Gordon got the idea for the film from believing that there were too many Dracula inspired movies and not enough Frankenstein ones.
Gordon wanted to initially film the movie in black and white to give it the atmosphere of an old monster movie.
The film went through twenty-four gallons of fake blood.
Before production, various members of the cast and crew visited an insane asylum for research.
In the actors commentary for the film, Barbara Crampton recalled Bruce Abbott gifting her the jacket that he wore in the film, and that she still has it.
The entire film was shot in eighteen days.
The reagent in the film was glow stick juice, which Jeffrey Combs advises people not to drink because apparently that stuff is toxic.
Jeffrey Combs recalls in the actors commentary having to give David Gale cigarettes while he was stuck under tables during the headless Dr. Hill scenes.
The opening scene of the movie was filmed last.
One of the actors on the film scared a gas station attendant because they were covered in the fake blood from set.
David Gale's wife was so enraged by the "head" scene that while watching the movie, she left the theatre.
For certain scenes with dead Rufus, a real dead cat was used.
Re-Animator was one of many films that Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton co-starred on, others including From Beyond, Castle Freak, and The Evil Clergyman.

I decided to give my vampire Lenore a love interest, however I'm still developing this character so this description will be vague.
Anyway, in a past upload I mentioned that back in the 1400s when Lenore first woke up as a vampire, she was in a bloodthirsty animalistic trance and ended up killing her husband and draining his blood. Once her thirst for blood was quenched she woke up from her trance and realized she had just murdered her husband and the father of her children and was horrified. After this, she and her daughters built a tomb for him in a secret room in their castle where he remains buried to this day.
So one night hundreds of years later, Lenore and her daughters are out looking for victims to feed on as they do every night. Lenore spots a woman in an alleyway about to be assaulted by a man, so she takes the opportunity to save the woman by killing the assaulter and draining his blood. Now I'm still trying to figure out how exactly the next step happens and how soon it happens after this event but Lenore and this woman (who's name is Carrie) end up becoming attracted to each other, and unbeknownst to Carrie, Lenore ends up turning her into a vampire during a night of lovemaking. Carrie's freaked out at first once she comes out of her initial feral trance and drains her first victim and is even angry at Lenore for changing her, but Lenore calms her and assures her that she'll help her adjust to her new life.
So blah blah blah, Lenore helps Carrie learn how to be a vampire, they fall in love and Carrie ands up forming a bond with Lenore's daughters. Still thinking up more details but that's the gist of it. Also Carrie's first name was named after Carrie White from the Stephen King story Carrie (since I rewatched the movie today) and her last name Lanchester is named after Elsa Lanchester (who played The Bride of Frankenstein). I just thought it would be cool to have her name be horror homages.

Dear Elvira, who would win in a fight? The popeyed monster from "Lady Frankenstein" or Goliath the caveman monster from "Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks"?
"Hey dear anon! Thanks for the question! Now, I'd say, if it's a fight involving looks, the chances for both would be rather... underwhelming. But in the matter of strenght I guess the winner would be who keeps himself together best."

An, Ann, N Anny Monster AU
So I was watching mad monster party (a classic) and it made me think of an AU with the girls. Here all the Cul-de-sac kids would be adults and reuniting on Evil Island, after being summoned by the infamous Dr. Jekyll and the council of monster’s.
The An’s currently live together in a small village, making money scaring the locals and just enjoying life until there summoned and are suddenly re-united with their old pal’s. Including the now older Kanker brothers.
An Creature - Creature from the black Lagoon (was going to do werewolf but I can see An living in the swamp). Her pod (family) was very strict, and territorial, trying there best to keep An in line. Yet her love for human junk out weighed her fear of them and it cost a lot of issue’s. So after they couldn’t send her to boarding school, they sent her away for safety of the pod. An is much happier as a result, freedom, a whole basement to herself and can make a mess. She is sad about the locals running away from her though.
Was terrorized by Jay (a Frankenstein with Siren parts) who loved her voice and just how strong she was when they were little as An was told to stay away from boys and sirens so he caused her a bit of panic. When they got older hey bonded on human video games and the two developed a small friendship but lost contact after graduation. Re-connecting however has bubbled up a few unwanted feelings.
Ann Hilda Jekyll- Daughter of Dr Jekyll and a witch, Double-N now lives with her friends in the an old castle conducting experiments and creating potions. Even trading/selling her potions for some small change. Uses potions to hide her witch side (in this AU she’d have green skin and other ‘witchy features) just don’t let her use her dads concoction. She becomes a real witch lol
Which is ironically how Larie became attracted to her. Larie a science experiment himself (with extra parts from a gargoyle to fly with and horns) began to bug her. Mostly because he was bored an she was easy prey, until she takes her ‘medicine’. Then her other side knocked him threw a window, fixed up his wounds an apologized to him. He was just so taken back that he fell in love.         So he began to pursue her and then lost touch at graduation (Double-N bolted out the door). Meeting again has caused a lot confusing feeling because he hasn’t given up but has grown a lot.
Anny Nosferatu- Obviously a vampire but unfortunately for Anny she’s a direct descendent of Nosferatu, which hasn’t helped her image. Being stuck between her families high expectations, comparisons to her much crueler older sister, and Karen mocking her as being the lesser Vampire, it’s not hard to see why she jumped at the chance to leave. Anny also say this as a way to prove herself that she’s just as good so she enjoys terrorizing the locals.
Met Tee when they were really little and he had gotten lost. Being the first experiment out of his brothers and having gorgon parts caused people to freak out at his eyes that hypnotize people instead of turn them to stone. Anny being the outcast herself stood up for him and they became friends until she’s forced to leave. A few years later they met again, but she forgot him and he hadn’t given up. Like the other’s they lost contact after graduation (Anny clung to Double-N’s broom as the bolted out the door). But now she’s back and he’s hot, help.
--
Will do the Kanker brothers and the rest of the Cul-de-sac (maybe some oc’s) on other post’s. This is it for now, tell me what monsters you’d think the girls or the other kids would be.
