But I see now that, while I am (definitely) not always free from wrongdoing, I deserve to be respected and treated better. I just wish knowing that made it simple to follow it. In trying to solve this, I’ve discovered a lot of my friends are trash. So in my lonely solitude I have been obsessed lately with Ambrose Bierce. Haita the Shepherd specifically.

Forgiveness means nothing if you do not recognize your own boundaries. If you continually forgive others, you could in fact be complicit or validating their actions. Yes, people make mistakes, but at some point enough is enough. It's good that you found something to distract yourself.
