Blind Items Revealed #25
September 17, 2021
Never say that this movie studio is not thorough trying to protect its brand. They spent nearly $1M to completely wipe the internet clean of hundreds, if not thousands of posts of this very recent lead actor entrant to their universe. Why? Well, because most of the posts were crazy misogynistic while hundreds compared people who are pedophiles to those who are gay and expressed his thoughts that there was nothing wrong with pedophilia.
Marvel/Simu Liu/Shang-Chi
This is on crazy days and nights
A few things....
What was the reasoning for sending this in? Are you trying to play devil's advocate? Start drama? Pls explain
You're telling me that Marvel spent almost seven figures to "scrub the internet clean" of all of simu's wrongdoings but they left up the most egregious ones? Make it make sense lmao
Also: I read what he wrote (which is outlined in a post here). He literally only said that both things originate from a genetic level*??? Was it terribly worded? Yeah probably. But what he said has been scientifically proven, however uncomfortably we may feel about it.
Why do we demand absolute perfection from celebrities, when they're literally just PEOPLE with stronger name recognition??? They're literally just high end freelancers & influencers. Why do we dig up old shit from years ago to judge a present person based on their past actions??? By all means hold their feet to the fire and burn the fuck out of them if they haven't changed, but what if they have? Do we continue to drag their name through the mud & constantly apologize for a person they no longer resonate with?
Would it be "this deep" if simu was a white man? I know we've recently started holding them accountable (a little more), but for the most part white men still get away unscathed.

This past month has been a fucking rollercoaster.
Incredible highs (working with an actress from The 100 and Simu Liu from Kim’s Convenience) and some super Lows (suspecting I have been unofficially fired from my assisting job and not getting to be on the Fashion Week team after 2 seasons of it.) Being financially stable and having money after rent for the first time in 3 years when I started this freelance nonsense.  Cat breaking the laptop’s audio driver by knocking it off the fridge.  I don’t even know how I’m supposed to feel about all of it but thankgod for being numb to everything lately!

Fantasy Basel Review
At the beginning of the month was the Fantasy Basel, where for the first time I had my own artist table at a convention. The Fantasy Basel is the swiss version of the Comic Cons happening all over the world. This means, there’s a lot of comic Fans, gamers, Cosplayers and generally nerds of all kinds meeting in one place for a weekend. Next to boothes from big Companies from the Game industry, there were lots of booths dedicated to Cosplay and Costumes in general. You could even buy proper Bows or Swords. There was also a Steampunk Café, different Star Wars Sets recreated entirely with Lego and generally a ton of pretty impressive Costumes. And next to all of this there was, of course, the ‘Artist Alley’, where Artists can set up a booth to exhibit their work during the convention.
After going full freelance beginning of this year, Fantasy Basel was a big goal to work towards. I did not know what to expect, especially since I heard they were expecting over 50’000 people over those thee days.
I invested in some prints, decoration for the booth and created new artwork to show and sell. Next to original art, I had prints in A5 and A4, Postcards and a Poster for sale. Every day we had a small giveaway for all the people who registered themselves for my new newsletter. I also designed a big rollup, which is 100 by 200 cm, (or roughly 40 by 80 inch, if you’re more into the imperial system). It was pretty exciting to finally see it live. The rollup was printed by printzessin.ch, which I really recommend.
I had two friends, Räffu and Simu, helping me out at the booth. This was not only helpful in busier times of the day, but also a lot more fun. In general I met a lot of interesting people at Fantasy Basel, and to me that’s really what conventions like these are about: Connecting with people and getting inspired by them. It was a great experience and I can only recommend to go and get a booth yourself, it’s a great opportunity to get your art in front of a lot of eyeballs and grow as an artist.
