It’s not quite as difficult to be the Soldier for Zemo as it probably should be, and every command makes it easier and easier for Bucky to slip a little deeper.

Good evening loves! We made it to February! It’s hard to believe we are one month into 2024! I love the idea of the team during Spring time and I thought I'd make some March/Spring prompts because it makes me happy. This prompt list is inspired by the always amazing, @imagining-in-the-margins who always make the best prompt lists. I'm currently writing for her New Beginnings Challenge (linked) and having a blast). For my prompts, I won’t write for all these prompts, but I will for at least a few. The rules for using these prompts are that there are no rules! You could use any Criminal Minds characters, OCs, reader inserts, etc. You could draw, write, make mood boards, or imagine anything else. I have included 31 prompts for each day of the month. I also get inspiration from plain old words, so I’ve included 10 Spring words that might inspire something. Lastly, I’ve included a few dialog and art prompts too. You can find that all below the cut. If any of these prompts inspire you to create, I’d love to be tagged to see what you have made. This is all just for fun. Hi Sam, could you share the timeline for the Shivadverse please? Because the epilogues tend to be little time jump and the books overlap, and Twelve Points confused me a bit in regards to when it takes place, ngl. Like, Eddie went for the coronation, stayed, he and Greg dated for a year(?) and get engaged. Are still engaged when Jess and Noah arrive. Are married during Euro Vision, but engaged (?) when the song is written at the start. And Tiger happens somewhere too, but Alanna and Jerry haven't gotten married yet...

I would love the proper chain of events! How much time has it been since Eddie's arrival and the end of Twelve Points?

Oh sure! I have it all written out (more or less) so find below the cut.

You do kind of have to squint a little in places; they're cramming a lot into a short amount of time and I was deliberately vague with real dates because it makes it easier to sort of slide stuff in, and with the first three books I was shuffling events around a bit. Spring 2022 saw a lot of action and fall 2023 is looking to be the same. :D

To short-answer your question, between the start of Fete For A King (February-ish 2021, don't look too hard at that) and the end of Twelve Points (May 2022) it's been about fifteen months. If we count to the true end of Twelve Points in the epilogue (November-ish 2022) it's been a year and nine months. By the time we hit the end of the planned-out novels (Spring 2024) it will have been three years.

SPRING 2021

Events of Fete For A King (except epilogue): Eddie arrives to cater the coronation; Gregory and Eddie begin a relationship. Michaelis retires and Gregory is crowned king.

Pre-LATT: Jerry is diagnosed with ADHD.

SUMMER 2021

Pre-LATT: Jerry begins medication for ADHD at the start of Infinite Jes.

Events of Infinite Jes (except epilogue): Jes and Noah arrive. Jes and Michaelis begin a relationship in late summer.

FALL 2021

Prologue of Twelve Points: Noah begins school at the Maritime Academy as a Junior. Caleb sees him and Michaelis interacting and composes Young Prince.

Events of the short story Love Like A Freight Train: Gregory and Eddie get frisky in the bedroom.

SPRING 2022:

Events of the short story A Pizza For Purim in March: Eddie makes pizza for Jes and Michaelis.

Epilogues of Fete for a King and Infinite Jes, plus short story Theophile and The Kings: Gregory and Eddie become engaged at Gregory's coronation anniversary ball (April-ish, possibly a bit earlier). Michaelis gives them 18 months before he starts pestering them about grandchildren.

Events of The Lady And The Tiger: Alanna and Jerry travel to Galia; they begin dating and become engaged. Ofelia Ansevali is installed as Duchess.

LATE SPRING/EARLY SUMMER 2022:

Beginning of The Twelve Points Of Caleb Canto: Caleb wins the National Final and meets the royal family; Buck comes to Fons-Askaz to write his next album.

Events of the short story The New Duke: Eddie is made a duke. Michaelis reminds Gregory that they have 16 months left before he starts pestering them about grandchildren.

Events of the short story Gold Digger: Jes fights with their parents about dating Michaelis (prior to attending Eurovision in Turin).

SUMMER 2022:

Ending of The Twelve Points of Caleb Canto: In May, Caleb and Buck compete against each other at Eurovision National Finals.

Noah officially/legally becomes a prince.

PROSPECTIVE: Beginning of The Royals And The Ramblers; Eddie, Gregory, Michaelis, Jes, and Noah visit the Rambler family in California, escorted by Georgie. Monday Rambler is asked to be the royal Surrogate. Monday becomes pregnant circa July.

FALL 2022:

Epilogue of The Twelve Points of Caleb Canto: Buck returns from touring to spend the winter in Fons-Askaz. Noah becomes first mate of the Dychev.

PROSPECTIVE: Royals/Ramblers: Georgie begins a relationship with Monday Rambler. Eddie and Gregory meet and adopt Ioanna. Eddie and Gregory have a huge state wedding.

Events of Cryptofauna Of The Shivadh North: Eddie and Gregory go on vacation and hunt a Svichwurm.

Now, all of that has been written and all but the start of Royals/Ramblers has been published or at least posted. The rest of 2023 is planned out as well so:

SPRING 2023:

PROSPECTIVE: Ending of The Royals And The Ramblers (around late April). The novel spans almost a year, since it begins prior to Monday's pregnancy and ends shortly after she gives birth.

SUMMER 2023:

PROSPECTIVE: The Chicken Salad Wars: Simon LeFevre begins publishing a recipe blog and is recruited into helping plan the Reclamation Day festival. Spans roughly April-August.

PROSPECTIVE: Noah will graduate from the Maritime Academy in June 2023. In theory, if I write his gap year novel, it would begin somewhere around summer 2023. I may not write this one in chronological order (IE, I may write other books set later first, then come back to this one).

FALL 2023:

PROSPECTIVE: Beginning of the yet-untitled Football Novel; Felix Giddings begins building Shivadh RFC and recruiting players for the team's first 11. Spans the midseason gap and will likely end in spring 2024.

PROSPECTIVE: Events of the yet-untitled Roman Ruin Novel; crews hired by Jerry to clear and cultivate portions of the Shivadlakia estate uncover a Roman floor. Unclear how long this novel will span but likely a relatively short period of time.

There are also several stories in the pipeline that have indeterminate dates assigned, but presumably they are further out.

The room narrows, darkness creeping in around the edges of his vision. He slides out of the chair and onto the floor, limp and weak. The last thing he sees is Lutz standing over him, watching him as he blacks out.

The Dog’s body feels too warm, hot in a way It can recognize it’s from arousal.

But the… but the Dog doesn’t get aroused. Sure, Its body reacts to Master’s touches, to her hands knowing where to caress and where to prod to get a reaction out of her toy. It gets warm, It gets wet, and there’s that relief that It know means an orgasm (at least, a weak orgasm that always seem to amuse Master). 

This feels a lot more like what the girl feels (willingly or not), and it feels wrong in a way that makes the Dog more uncomfortable with the concept of being arousal for any reason than because, well, the Dog’s aroused. The clothes are too tight, too hot, It wants to rip them apart and find any relief. Just a little touch down there, any relief to clean the fog in Its mind so It can think of how to escape – the Dog knows better than to think Master will come save It when It has been trained in how to escape any possible situation.

So I gather that in your A/B/O universe, there are multiple mating seasons a year (this is what I remember, correct me if I'm wrong) when omegas go into heat. Would this mean, at least for the children of A/O couples, that birthdays would be concentrated around 9 months from each mating season? How would this impact the culture? Would there be birth seasons as well as mating seasons?

Thank you so much for this excellent question and for your patience! I am so so sorry that it’s taken me forever to answer- I’ve been trying to respond for a while but words are hard this year orz.

So yes, you are correct that there is a mating season once a quarter.

The Winter season lands somewhere between late December - early February (we are here in Strange Days FYI)

Spring Season is between late March- early May

Summer: Late June- early Aug

Fall: Late September- early November

But keep in mind that the season’s dates can fluctuate.

The mating seasons are dependent on when the omega population goes into what is referred to as a “true heat”.

A true heat where the omega population’s pheromones are strong enough to cause an Alpha to enter rut.

Alphas can only knot during ruts, which is important to successfully conceiving /managing or ending the Omegas heat. The need for the knot is due to the fact that while Alphas (depending on their weight) produce more semen compared to Beta males, unlike Betas, the semen isn’t viable for long after ejaculation- so the knot is needed to keep it all in to increase the chances of conceiving. Plus being tied to your partner along with the post sex endorphins is really good for the couple’s bond.

So due to the mating season being dependent around the omega population’s true heats- it is why the season is spread across a few weeks. It’s not always a defined time, rather it’s an estimated time omegas are most likely to enter a true heat. Some omegas can enter a heat earlier or later than the spike of the season. But with modern medicine and science, the world has become better at predicting these periods.

Depending on the weight of omega and if they’re using blockers/birth control, they may also “skip” a season. But again it depends on what the omega is on. Athena for example, is on birth control and a blocker than minimizes her symptoms. So she’ll feel the effects of the season but it’s not enough to trigger a full on heat. The worst she’ll feel is fatigued and the best, a bit frisky. However she won’t feel the overwhelming need to mate, like, let’s say, Apollo.

Miles prefers to skip heats all together, at least, that’s what ppl say is his official position.

All other times through out the year, an omega May experience a “false heat” one a month for a day or so, but the likelihood of conception then, is very low as outside of mating season, an Alpha is unable to knot /the omega isn’t actually ovulating. However there are instances of successful conception outside of the season. It’s extremely rare, but it has happened.

Anyway, now that the “science” is out of the way, let’s talk cultural impacts.

So yes, it is common for A/Os birthdays to be clustered around certain times of the year. There are definitely “baby booms” four times out of the year, deoending on an area’s overall A/O population.

Side note: I made my own AA birthday charts, based off other games timelines and characters ages and wouldn’t you know it? Majority of the protag’s birthdays are clustered between Jan-March with a few outliers in April and May (Klavier May 23rd and Simon, April 1st in my head canons- I wrote an extended post on Klavier and Apollo’s birthdays for Heard Your Heart Beating). In chapter 14 of SD I mentioned that Miles and Phoenix are the same zodiac sign so they were definitely born within a few weeks of each other, most likely conceived in the Spring mating season the year prior.

So what does this mean for the packs? Well, if a lot of omegas in the same pack are pregnant together it strengthens the bonds between those omegas. The children born are raised as packmates and the responsibility is of raising them is shared between the adults of the pack. The children grow up considering the others they were born with as siblings /close cousins. Depending on the pack, it may be considered taboo to mate with a packmate from the same cluster you were born into, as it can be seen as mating your sibling (despite there not being any actual biological relation there), and it doesn’t encourage diversification of the gene pool if packs are inter-mating.

It’s more common for the kids to break away and form smaller packs with their own mates from other packs /families. This is how things like Houses and Tribes get started as children eventually split off from the main house but still retain loyalty to that lead pack.

Having a cluster of children introduces a “class” mentality (like “class of 2024” sort of deal) and it’s used as a way to introduce the younger packs into society through customs similar to debutante balls/London Season/coming of age ceremonies we see in the real world.

It’s during these introductions (usually at the age of 15/16 whatever age when all of the children in a “class” have had their first rut or heat) into society is a way to mingle and network with other families outside of the children’s packs. Not surprisingly, these are events were breeding contracts or the right to court are often negotiated between families.

This cluster mentality is also enforced through the marriage /mating ceremony, as the couple will have their ceremony during the first mating season following their engagement. Due to this, there are hotels and resorts that cater exclusively to Alphas and Omegas as they can make most of their annual revenue from about 12 weeks or so out of the year. Venue space is fought after because not only is about the ceremony, the couple will also stay for the next week or so as the Omega will be in heat. So having accommodations like this for A/Os is really important.

There are also older establishments run by Alphas who have back rooms ready a few times throughout the year to accommodate an A/O couple while they’re out; should the omega suddenly have their heat. (Apparently mounting your omega in public is frowned upon in the increasing majority that is polite Beta society XD) These accommodations have helped the A/O community start to assimilate into Beta society.
