will say an idea im invested in on that note is the idea that ppl in the circus had super mundane jobs irl. like even in c&a they just had normal people jobs. i think making the people who end up there be super painfully normal and just. people. really sells the tragic elements of the show

one thing about being in too much pain to uphold social niceties (period and it's a bad one) is that i did spend all day at work not only doubled over and moving at a pace the ninety year old library ladies were lapping but i was even worse than usual at tasks like Looking At People Who Are Chewing Gum and "not edging away bugeyed when a coworker stands close next to me" and of course the perennial favorite "keeping track of more than three words spoken to me in a row and responding to that" and we'll let me merely say. it is just me and that murderbot. nobody else in this whole damn library understands
#(we catalogued a bunch of martha wells today and it was very apropos)#i just think. when im wounded and dripping secret fluids you can't expect me to keep up with this other shit is all#bookbot doesnt have any combat skills but it does have a faster search than the opac computer#so as soon as it remembers how sentences and conveyance of the searched information works you'll be in the business#augggggh and it was so busy too!!!111 and the guy who monologues on the phone called again and he always starts his calls with#'HEY darlin'!' fuck off robert call me darlin one more time. motherfucker#this is linux robert. we really dislike getting calls from linux robert. robert i'm blind is a different cooler guy#robert im blind is a blind guy named robert who introduces himself in those exact words. and he calls every solstice#in order to find out the exact time the solstice or equinox begins . i always wonder what rituals hes performing#linux robert merely wants to bother our IT department about the minutea of ubuntumint or whatever .no matter how many times we tell him NO#he cannot accept that our IT staff is busy keeping the whole county's library system running and cannot be his personal home computer staff#and that it is highly unlikely one of them would let him burn his custom linux mods onto the public library computers#(i THINK that's what he's trying to do. he is not great at explaining in what one might call. layman's terms. despite being The Explainer)#linux robert is deeply on the spectrum but guess what dude! so am i and so am your little brother who i went to grade school with#at least 25% of our patron base is on the spectrum the library is a very autistic place to be#autism doesnt exclude a guy from being a real annoying pain in the ass who calls you darlin condescendingly#his brother is a wonderful guy. i used to hang out with him at lunch bc his tss had adopted me as a sort of pseudoclient#she clocked my twelve year old weird and said oh ive got room for one more. so jon and i were like two chicks under the wing#and my good sixth grade buddy jon would never call me unsolicited endearments. because first of all he's literally nice#and second of all our favorite thing to do together was not talk#WHEW. anyway. long ass day . my coworker and i have resolved one of these days to clearly tell robert not to do that please#because otherwise he wont know . but it's also possible someone's already told him this and he just doesnt care

I love second hand book shops, I got to them frequently and always leave with Something and have a good time just peakin around
But i gotta say
It's one of the Worst spots for me in terms of imposter syndrome
I feel like everyone's uneasey with my presence as though i'm a stranger who just stumbled into their inner sanctum and they're.. they're gunna let me stay but they're gunna be weirded out the whole time and breath a sigh of relief when the Strange Unwelcome Freak Leaves
It also happens at record shops and sometimes at small antique shops or cons+festivals
Just this immediate foreboding of being Angrily Tolerated in a Space I Don't Belong
#monster noises#it's Incalculably stupid because 1) it's a store. anyone can go in there.#and 2) in all those locations... I do beling there!!!!!!!! not even in the sense of point 1 where it's a retail location but like!!!!#Book shops Record shops Antique malls Cons... are all like super 100% right up my alley nerd shit these Should be like '''''my people'''''''#which is i think a strong contributing factor to this pervasive feeling like#there's an underlying current of not just being in there to Shop but that i want the other people there to Like Me? I guess?#in our limited interaction?#i want them to see that i'm One Of Them and it makes me nervous#because whenever i am trying to be a Part of something i Immediately feel like some kind of isolated hollow fraud#like i'm worried that i not only Look like a poser#but that i Am#secretly#a Poser#so secretly that I don't even relaiE i'm a poser#it probably doesn't help that i also always have The most off-kilter interactions with the staff in these scenerios#it's never anything truly embarassing#but it's always like i try to be as nice as possible but their reaction is never what i expect#and it throws me off#it's a hard thing to pin down in words but like.. it feels like they are more than anything just Waiting for me to leave#if not from the get-go then from the moment i open my mouth to answer a question#and like idk !!! i'm trying so hard to be open and friendly and not just use canned response but also not be Too weird or too loud#and be engaged in conversation but it never works!#it's like i ooze some deeply unpleasant vibe and it turns everyone off me immediately when i enter their space#i'll see other customers having lovely conversations with staff and stuff and then when it's me it's like Cold#truly it does nothing for my self esteem#not everyone has yo or is going to like me but i really don't think it's too big an ask to not be scrutinized by store staff Constantly ;<;

also like fuming w anger about my job rn cause they finally noticed that we've been taking til almost one am to close on most nights and INSTEAD of scheduling more than 2 closers they just leave passive aggressive notes on the shift plan about how we should Try Our Best to be out by 11:45. the implication that we take too long to close cause we're just lazy is gonna make my head explode

Top 10 posts customer service workers hate reading
very controversial opinion here, but sometimes customer service workers are the problem 😶
#once again reminded to be nice to the customers#reminds me of a time a customer wasn’t mean but was really overbearing and took like an hour to finish assembling his gift#admittedly a very nice gift for his mother#part of that hour was him coming back to the store and wrapping the box right in front of me#and he was doing such a terrible job i just ended up helping him anyway#i had to ask my boss to stop me if he came back because i couldn’t tell this guy to fuck off because he was being nice#but that kind of nice where you say stuff like oh i must be so annoying right now#yeah you are get out i wanna sit down#hate this post especially because i absolutely cant be mean at my job because most of the people who do get on my nerves are parents#who usually have their kids with them#and i always feel bad whenever i have to raise my voice at children or teenagers#like im not perfect and i know my shortcomings but what is this post achieving#not to mention being a little rude is normal we get angry for a reason thats why customer service workers put up with it#that and we need to keep our jobs and pay rent#and deal with 50 more customers for the rest of the day#but then again i guess that customer i got impatient with has to deal with 50 more cashiers today so tough world#I agree with op but its one of those things that is such a little problem compared to the other bigger problem#IM JUST BEING TOLD TO BE NICE AGAIN#if you made it this far you should read Bright-sided by Barbara Ehrenreich#its about toxic positivity in the united states#like why is everyone in this country so opposed to being upset#dont get me started on food service#which is already a high stress environment#with most of the staff in kitchen not even getting the opportunity to have a word with customers#and the ones that do are usually teenagers anyway who should not be judged for giving attitude#like i started these tags from the mind of a retail employee#but now i remember i worked in food service#some of the nastiest stuff you hear from people day to day isnt even from customers but your coworkers#who may have to pick up your slack if you fall behind whether thats your fault at all#anyway cool sentiment but this post reeks of i-never-worked-a-customer-service job or i-did-but-im-complicit-in-worker-suffering

Introduction: Coin Dispensers in the Digital Age
In a world leaning toward digital transactions, many business owners ask: Are coin dispensers still relevant in 2025? The short answer is yes—and more than ever, businesses across laundromats, car washes, and vending operations are turning to modern coin dispensers to bridge the gap between cash reliance and operational efficiency.
For industrial business owners in the USA, the evolution of eco-friendly quarter dispensers presents a compelling blend of traditional convenience and sustainable innovation.
Why Modern Coin Dispensers Remain Essential
Despite the surge in cashless payments, over 18% of all transactions in the U.S. are still made in cash. That means many businesses—especially those operating in high-volume, low-ticket environments—must still manage physical currency efficiently.
A modern coin dispenser ensures:
Fast, reliable coin distribution
Reduced wait times at self-service terminals
Enhanced customer satisfaction
Fewer staff hours spent handling change
Whether you're running a laundromat in Chicago or a car wash in Texas, a robust coin system is still part of your bottom line.
Sustainability Meets Practicality: The Rise of Eco-Friendly Quarter Dispensers
Today's business owners are not only looking for efficiency—they’re demanding sustainability. That’s where the eco-friendly quarter dispenser comes in.
These upgraded machines are:
Energy-efficient with low-power standby modes
Built from recyclable materials or with minimal plastic parts
Designed for durability, reducing the need for frequent replacements
Manufactured with low-emission standards
By investing in sustainable coin machines, you're not only reducing your environmental footprint but also attracting eco-conscious customers—a growing consumer segment in 2025.
Hybrid Systems: Bridging Cash and Digital Payments
Another reason modern coin dispensers remain relevant is their role in hybrid payment ecosystems. Modern systems now support:
Coin payout and digital balance tracking
Integration with RFID cards, mobile apps, and POS terminals
Real-time tracking for inventory and coin flow
This makes the future of coin machines adaptive rather than obsolete.
How Coin Dispensers Reduce Operational Costs
Here’s how coin dispensers make business sense in 2025:
✅ Lower labor costs – No need for manual change management ✅ Increased customer throughput – Faster service = more business ✅ Secure transactions – Locked hoppers and tamper-proof designs ✅ Reduced maintenance – Especially with the newer, eco-friendly quarter dispensers
Many operators report a 10–15% increase in customer satisfaction after upgrading to modern coin systems.
Long-Term Value for Industrial Business Owners
For American businesses that still rely on coins—laundromats, arcades, amusement centers, and vending operations—modern coin dispensers are not a dying technology. They're a strategic investment. They deliver:
Longevity
Compatibility with legacy and new systems
Support for cash-heavy industries
Investing in a quarter dispenser built for 2025 ensures you’re not chasing trends—you’re planning ahead.
Q&A Section
Q: Are coin dispensers becoming obsolete with digital payments? A: Not at all. Many industries still rely on cash, and modern dispensers now integrate hybrid payment features that future-proof your business.
Q: What makes a coin dispenser "eco-friendly"? A: Features include energy-saving modes, recyclable materials, and low-maintenance engineering that reduces waste.
Q: How do I choose the best coin dispenser for my business? A: Look for durability, coin capacity, ease of use, and sustainable features. Brands like Lynde Ordway’s modern coin dispensers are trusted by industrial operators across the USA.
Final Thoughts: The Future of Coin Machines
The future of coin machines isn't about clinging to the past—it's about evolving with it. As long as cash has value, modern coin dispensers will remain a critical part of many businesses. By choosing an eco-friendly quarter dispenser, you're aligning your operations with the values of efficiency, responsibility, and forward-thinking.
