Hiii guys, after my last .. uh theory thingy I'm back to ramble more. (About mostly Morty Prime this time). Because I'm very normal about R&M I promise. :D
Tumblr media
Anyways! (Major spoilers for season 7 ahead!!!)
I've been thinking about season 7 again, as well as the earlier seasons, and I've got a few ideas/possibilities/plot bunnies of what the writers of Rick and Morty might do for Morty.
The thing is, season 7 had somewhat really juggled Morty's character back and forth between its development and regression for Unmortricken, giving more light to the rest of the Smith family and Rick. I don't mean to phrase this negatively, but compared to earlier seasons, Morty seems to more of just being there, not taking into mind the episodes w Rick Prime and episode 10 of the latest season.
And this brings me to my point: What will they do with Morty's character and development now?
Let's take all things into consideration:
Rick Prime is gone/dead (hopefully permamently but it could be an interesting throwback)
Rick C-137 can be now actively allowed to heal
There is nothing (particularly) endangering their whole family
Evil Morty returned to his paradise island and there doesn't seem to be a strong/certain reason for him to return to the Central Curve
So the new arc, by technicality, should consist of Morty's and Rick's healing, right? Right???
That's what I thought of at first, but there's a good chance it's not as clear as it may appear.
For example, let's talk about the last episode of season 7. Throughout all of it we have the dissection of Rick's and Morty's fears, even as far as having an accurate Diane in it. It portrays how many fears and worries Morty Prime has accumulated through the seasons, including, of course, not being accepted, his fear of being replaced (THANKS RICK <3🙄) and many more. My point here is, that his trauma runs deep, it's hard-rooted into his character and almost unmovable. The most fucked up thing about it in the ep, is that Morty receiveing positive attention from Rick, is what made him realize that he's the only one in the hole. Because he doesn't believe Rick would consciously describe him as an irreplacable person in his life.
Which brings me to one of my key-thought-out-problems. Can Morty Prime even heal properly, at least around his family?
Chances are: it might be a HUGE FUCKING ISSUE.
(To be fair here, I'm not an entirely objective theorizer, even though I'm trying to stay as neutral as I can, please take my ideas with a grain of salt.)
Morty Prime actively thinks that all healthy affection he receives from Rick isn't actually received from Rick (most likely paranoia from the Rickbot arc) or that he's in a scenario in which his family isn't real. His counsciousness has already started to agree and intertwine into his approach all of the things and actions that have previously hurt the teen. (For example, if his family lashes out at him, he's being ridiculed or hurt by them to some degree, then it must mean they're real. It is an objective truth.) And it makes me think that Morty may need to be away from his family to be able to acknowledge each of his traumatic experiences in order to attempt moving on from them.
I think that Morty in order to heal, will have to learn that he doesn't have to focus on others all the time and can learn how to depend on himself, because he lacks trust even in his own thoughts. And so far, Morty has barely digested his trauma, more of "shelving" it away for later or having occasional meltdowns once he's under too much pressure. He always seems to be stuck in survival mode in some way, meaning that his brain prioritizes keeping him alive, rather then caring for the damage.
So by those thoughts, it is a possibility that Rick's healing and Morty's healing, cannot partake side by side, and therefore may result in Morty leaving his family to achieve healthy progress.
Either way, this is all just speculating and my ideas, but I hope it helped some people in their own theories. (My inbox is VERY open to rambling about R&M in ANY WAY.)
(Side idea for my enjoyment: Morty leaving his family can play into the theory that Morty Prime may actively search out Evil Morty to understand how he can achieve a process and goal in which he doesn't "cling" to his family and Rick.)

Was watching OSP’s latest trope talk on Power Ups and thinking about how skillfully TDP avoids both of the most common pitfalls of the trope while still wholeheartedly using the trope of “The power was inside you all along” for 2x09 and “Power of Love / Friendship” in 3x09 for the wing spell
1) TDP avoids the pitfall of “why didn’t the hero just realize or do this thing sooner” by having accessing the Sky arcanum be linked to a self actualization emotional arc and combined with evolving and growing alongside Callum’s view and understanding of the world
2) Having access to sky magic doesn’t magically fix all his problems, it just gives him more solutions and options to consider. He can still be fallible to other opponents (Sol Regem, Kasef), have to use his head to figure out how to use his magic, and has a preference for utilizing all his resources and friends in his plans (3x01, 4x06)
3) TDP earns it’s “Power of Love” moment because it’s a culmination of a bond we’ve seen continually growing since the first ep (whereas if it had say, been for Ezran, it may not have felt like such a Moment because they’re so consistent / in-grained with each other from the very start) as well as feeling emotionally earned because we’ve watched Callum grieve and miss quite a few people he loves with Rayla becoming part of his family, and he doesn’t want to lose anyone else
4) As well as both being the culmination of giving Callum something he largely didn’t have in the beginning, re: confidence and agency, specifically to make his way in the world as his own unique person and to be able to be the type of heroic person he wants to be / someone who can protect his loved ones (circa point 1)

So I’m not sure how accurate this info is (I honestly can’t be bothered to look it up), but according to some ppl on dl, Benny could be making bank in these T-Mobile ads. We’re talking in the MILLIONS type of bank!! So maybe that’s why he’s not bothered by the lack of projects. Of course, like with anything on the internet, but especially on dl, take this with a grain of salt.
In millions? Please I gotta laugh
Like he probably getting pretty penny from these but lemme say what I can find from quick google run. And that is millions of articles from sites like celebritynakedbuzz.com that talk about big campaigns by big stars that even yer Christian grandmother would know about lol so ye somebody is making millions. Bradley with momma and Travolta probably got as much for their super bowl ads
As to Benny.... Well the first thing is that he is desperate. He has no projects coming up like his career stiff like priest walking through preschool. But what he wanna do is he want to progress his music career and it's self funded so he needs them coins. He was crying about the ep being so expensive and that half of it was a ride on freebies. Not this time around and he's going for a full album, ye know a long play which is more than five songs. He gotta pay for all of that and then he needs to pay the vanity label to release his vanity album. Hun I could probably get a PhD off the ground for years with that kinda money.
So ye first of all he is desperate. Second, them fucking ads are union contract I would guess. Soooo there would be a lotsa peeps involved that would be getting on his pay. And another thing here is that his agent manager or whoever was negotiating that deal for him, and we can kinda guess his team is not the best lol. Same people that got him black mirror pity cameo and a film that was announced and then disappeared. Alternatively, he just tries his shots at parts he can't get but he fully believes he deserves better. Honestly me thinks both are happening at once lol
Okie so desperate for monies, union job blah blah blah. Would say that he did got pretty penny, the ad was doing rounds in prime time (during oscars lol) but it's nothing close to big celebrity endorsements like. They don't use his name, he's just an actor that 2% of people who know him know him. First glance I would say he a commercial actor and his character is supposed to be a celebrity actor lol especially given the amount of ads they made. Imma like not even sure who they trynna target with the ads? Who unknown british actor appeals to in America? Like celebs would do super bowl for monies and exposure. Right now Benny is just too exposed but no one knows his name. Remember the who is the T-Mobile's actor guy pieces on them unknown sites full of viruses?
And another thing, but this is just me logical conclusion from what I've been reading. The additional residuals (big word lately with them strikes) for him would kick in if the ad would be running longer than 13 weeks or like 3 months. So the thing here is like I'm not in us so I can't tell if they are stopping the old commercials from airing but roughly every 2 months we are subjected to a new Benny ad. If ye not following me thoughts, what me thinking here is that they made so many of these to pull out old ones and bring in new ones, so not to pay more? Again lol imma scientists not a marketing expert lol
Then there's something called exclusivity deal but I doubt they paid lotsa here cuz it's not like Benny is a hottest commodity in the phone plan crowds lol he not hot anything anywhere actually x.x
Would joke that the player guy in the latest one made more than him in total xd
Again might be wrong might be right. Also he probably had to put that latest post as a part of the deal but like even me who knows nothing about social media marketing can tell that his socials engagement is nonexistent lol
Well this is something xd

About the canon thing in Twitter I may have some to add but I can't say I am one hundred percent right. From what I saw and shippers' reaction, besides the latest shooting what Norman and AK did recently seems give people positive hope for Caryl canon. Like Norman posted some Caryl/Mcreedus photos and AK gave likes to the opinion of a Caryl shipper called Nive Lives Remember about how they make canon in ins.(you can find it in her Twitter). And some days ago AK posted in ins that she was heading for Georgia with a photo of her laptop to which two shotnotes r attached(one writes "music notes", another is "D+C"). They think D+C could be referred to Caryl. Considering the possibility that we would see more Carol&Daryl in 11c, those signs combine to make shippers feel hopeful about it.
Gotcha. Thanks for the insight. Look, I definitely believe Caryl canon is happening, but personally (and feel free to ignore me because who am I to burst anyone's bubble), I would take "clues" like that with a microscopic grain of salt. We don't know why AK viewed that insta story, but it could've very well just been curiosity, especially if she was tagged. The same thing has happened to me before (not that I'm anywhere near as important as AK). Fans of the show I work on tag me and I'm like "ooh what's this thing someone wanted me to see" and I think it's no big deal until I'm tagged in another story of the person freaking out because they caught me viewing the previous story and then I feel super embarrassed lol Anyways. I digress. The D + C post could've been a note to herself about literally anything related to Daryl and Carol, maybe even the spinoff, but not necessarily canon. NR could've posted about Caryl because he wanted to or because he’s being encouraged to promote what the network knows gets people’s attention. I don't doubt he genuinely loves the relationship, but that doesn't necessarily mean there are any secret messages attached telling us to get ready for canon. Or, hey, maybe it all does mean that. I don't know for sure. My point is, it's super exciting and entertaining when the EPs/actors indulge us, but if anyone is trying to manage their expectations, over-analyzing social media posts is probably not the best way to do it.
So, yeah. There's my two cents no one asked for or wanted to hear. I feel like a jerk now. Did I mention I definitely think Caryl is going canon this season?

Dust Volume 6, Number 13
Tumblr media
Trees
It’s four in the afternoon and already getting dark, a foot of snow on the way. One year is nearly over — and yes, we’ve got some essays on that coming up after the holiday break — and another one is taking shape in our inboxes, mail chutes and hard drives. But for right now, let’s take another look at 2020, doubling back on the records that caught our ears without exactly fitting our schedules, the ones that almost got away. Here are the usual free improvisations and long drones, hip hop upstarts and cowpunk also-rans, a harpist, a cellist, a tabletop guitarist and at least one stellar punk record that has us hoping for sweaty live music again in 2021. Contributors this time included Bill Meyer, Bryon Hayes, Andrew Forrell, Patrick Masterson, Jennifer Kelly, Jonathan Shaw, Arthur Krumins, Ian Mathers and Ray Garraty, heck let’s call it a quorum, and see you again in the New Year.
Mac Blackout — Love Profess (Trouble In Mind)
Love Profess by Mac Blackout
Mac Blackout owes his surname to his membership in the Functional Blackouts. That’s a garage combo that was once the subject of an article about how they’d been banned from various venues on account of the destructive chaos of their live performances. But you can’t do that forever, and nowadays Mac’s a painter and solo recording artist. His latest sounds are unlikely to make anyone want to put a chair into the mirror behind the bar, but they might send you flipping through your record collection, looking for the sounds that you and he have in common. Love Profess opens with a burst of piano-pounding, sax-overblowing free jazz, but that lasts for about nine seconds before it gets swallowed by some John Bender-worthy synth throb. Give “Wandering Spheres” a couple more minutes, and Mr. Blackout goes full La Dusseldorf on us. By turns spacy, spooky and seriously compelled to vent nocturnal loneliness, this half-hour long LP is both as familiar and as unknown as a well-shuffled deck of cards.

Ross Birdwise — Perfect Failures (Never Anything)
Perfect Failures by Ross Birdwise
Vancouver-based electronic improviser Ross Birdwise rails against spatio-temporal norms. The concepts of tempo and rhythm are malleable in his universe. Architecturally, Birdwise is Antoni Gaudí, working in fluid lines to build incomprehensible structures. With Perfect Failures, he leaps even further away from the orthogonal grid of musical construction, dissolving beats into grains of sound. The warped rhythms found on Frame Drag are divested in favor of an approach that more resembles electroacoustic composition. As a matter of fact, the title track comes on like a digital recreation of a piece of classic musique concrète. Birdwise avoids venturing into purely ambient territory yet borrows some signifiers from the genre: keyboard melodies, elongated tones, washes of sound. He overlays these seemingly innocuous elements with crashes of noise, oblique jump cuts and hyperkinetic sequences, constantly forcing us to shift focus to make sense of his soundscapes. The febrile nature of the music is what intoxicates, but the discordant melodies are what enthrall.
Bryon Hayes
 C_G — C_G (edelfaul recordings)
C_G by C_G
Belgium-based French electronic artist Eduardo Ribuyo (C_C) and Israeli drummer Ilia Gorovitz (Stumpf) join forces on C_G, a one-take collaboration of molecular machine noise and improvised percussion. It opens as a slow creep, Gorovitz playing minimal rhythms that sound like someone walking through the pre-dawn streets of an awakening city. Ribuyo accretes whirrs, cracks and electrical pops to evoke the dread of a night not over. On “Normalising Cruelty,” for instance, the discomfort builds, the drums tumble in flight, the noise intensifies. The relative conventionality of the percussion tracks seems intentional and serves to focus attention on the granular details Ribuyo conjures from his machines. Think the experiments of similarly minded Mille Plateaux and Raster Norton artists. When played through headphones at volume, its full queasy Room 101 buzz and grind squirms most effectively into the brain. Easy listening this is not, but if and when home gatherings resume this would be an ideal way to clear the house.
Andrew Forell
Che Noir — After 12 EP (TCF Music Group)
youtube
If you’ve been paying attention to hip-hop in the last few years, Buffalo’s Griselda camp has dominated the “old heads” conversation away from whatever the kids are vibing to on TikTok. But there’s life away from an Eminem partnership, and not just in the form of Benny the Butcher: Witness Che Noir, who has been on fire throughout 2020. After starting off the year with the 38 Spesh-produced Juno and following it up with the Apollo Brown-produced As God Intended, Che’s closing things out with this self-produced seven-song EP that covers a wide range of territory without dipping into tales of street hustling, just the age old struggle to get some respect. “Hunger Games” is an early highlight that shows her chemistry with Ransom and 38 Spesh, while she completely takes over in speaking to the times on “Moment in the Sun,” which is the clear emotional highlight of the EP. Amber Simone’s pleading chorus on closer “Grace” is another stylistic turn and closes things on a high note. The last words you hear are Simone’s as she sings, “Imma go get it”; the lingering effect is that you know Che Noir is already showing you as much. Miss this one at your own risk.
Patrick Masterson
Cong Josie — “Leather Whip” b/w “Maxine” (It Records)
Leather Whip / Maxine (AA single) by Cong Josie
Frankie Teardrop rides again in this smoking synth punk single from Australia’s Cong Josie. “Leather Whip” is about as menacing and minimal as synthesizer music gets, braced by the hard slap of gate-reverbed drums and a claw-picked bass sound (maybe electronic?) and Cong Josie’s whispery insinuations. “Maxine” is just as stripped, with blotchy bass sound and swishing drum machine rhythms framing a haunted rockabilly love song. It’s very Suicide, but isn’t that a good thing?
Jennifer Kelly
Divine Horsemen — Live 1985-1987 (Feeding Tube)
Divine Horsemen “Live”1985-1987 by Divine Horsemen
With Divine Horsemen, Chris D of the Flesh Eaters had a brief but memorable run in vivid, gothic, country-tinged punk. This disc commemorates two red-hot live outings from 1985 and 1987, the first at Safari Sam’s in Huntington Beach, California, the second at Boston’s The Rat. A sharply realized recording shows how this band’s sound fit into the cowpunk parameters set by X, with strident guitar clangor and hard knocking rock rhythms (the ax-heavy line-up featured in this recording included Wayne James, Marshall Rohner and Peter Andrus on guitars, the Flesh Eater’s Robyn Jameson on bass). The secret weapon, though, was the ongoing and volatile vocal duel between the front man and his then-wife Julie Christensen, a classically trained soprano with an unholy vibrato-laced belt. You can hear how she transformed his art by comparing the Flesh Eater’s version of “Poison Arrow” with the one here. It’s as aggressive as ever, musically, and Chris D. is in full florid, echoey, goth-punk mode. Christensen, however, is molten fire, letting loose cascades and flurries of wild vibrating song. There’s a scorching, stomping romp through the vamping “Hell’s Belle,” and a lurid rendering of mad, howling “Frankie Silver,” and, towards the end, a muscular take on the Stones’ “Gimme Shelter.” Christensen later made a mark as one of Leonard Cohen’s favorite backup singers, and Chris D is still knocking around with a reunited, all-star Flesh Eaters, though there’s some talk of getting this band back together as well. I’d go.
Jennifer Kelly
Dezron Douglas & Brandee Younger — Force Majeure (International Anthem)
Force Majeure by Dezron Douglas & Brandee Younger
Harlem harpist Brandee Younger and bassist Dezron Douglas faced down New York’s early months of quarantine with a series of live broadcasts recorded in their apartment on a single microphone. This document of intimate resilience collects highlights of the Friday ritual. Younger and Douglas perform covers of spiritual Jazz, soul and pop songs as well as the delightfully titled original “Toilet Paper Romance.” The music is so close you feel the fingers on the strings and frets. Younger’s harp playing is a revelation, pianistic on John Coltrane’s “Equinox”, pointillist yet robust on his “Wise One” which they dedicate to Ahmaud Arbery. Douglas provides vigorous and sympathetic accompaniment and his solo rendition of Sting’s “Inshallah” is a tender tough exploration of his instrument. Along the way there are lovely versions of pieces by, amongst others, Alice Coltrane, Kate Bush and Clifton Davis. Douglas closes with the words “Black music cannot be recreated it can only be expressed” and Force Majeure demonstrates that the same goes for humanity and creativity.

Avalon Emerson — 040 12” (AD 93)
040 by Avalon Emerson
It’s been a big year for Avalon Emerson, who started 2020 prepping a move from Berlin to East Los Angeles and ends it back home stateside with an almost universally acclaimed DJ-Kicks entry to her credit. This three-song 12” for the label fka Whities is a nice way to close out a triumphant year, illustrating her penchant for bright melodies and percussive detail. “One Long Day Till I See You Again” is a welcoming slice of beatless percolation to close; “Winter and Water” leans heavily on rhythmic tricks in the middle. That makes A1 “Rotting Hills” the ideal lead as a balance between them. There may not be so obvious a gimmick as a Magnetic Fields cover, but that makes it no less valuable for showing what Emerson can do. Call it one more fluorescent rush.
Patrick Masterson
 End Forest — Proroctwo (Self-released)
Proroctwo (The Prophecy) by End Forest
For some of us, the fusion of folk music forms with crust and metal mostly issues in obscenities like Finntroll (yep, a Finnish band that makes folk metal songs about…trolls) or in politically toxic, Völkisch nationalist fantasias. But some bands get it right; see Botanist’s remarkable work, and see also End Forest, an act just emerging from Poland’s punk underground. Singer Paula Pieczonka employs a traditional Slavic vocal technique that roughly translates to “white singing” — but before you get creeped out by any potential fascist vibes, please know that the “whiteness” at stake in the phrase is purely an aesthetic value. And her voice is really great, open and soaring. “Proroctwo (The Prophecy)” has the sweep and drama of a lot of contemporary crust, and all of the genre’s interest in symbolic violence. The lyrics envision a future wrought and wracked by social conflict, a coming conflagration of torn bodies and of piles of dislodged teeth housed in some horrific archive of viciousness (that’s quite an image). It’s harrowing stuff, big guitar chords accented by sitar and flute. The track is available on Bandcamp, along with several inventive remixes by Polish musicians and DJs, like Tomek Jedynak and Dawid Chrapla. End Forest indicates that a full record is forthcoming sometime in spring. Looking forward to it, y’all.
Jonathan Shaw
Lori Goldson — On a Moonlit Hill in Slovenia (Eiderdown Records)
On A Moonlit Hill In Slovenia by Lori Goldston
Goldson creates movement and tension in an arresting way with a rough-hewn approach to the cello. This could be a good entry point to her solo work, which is varied and bridges the gap between DIY attitude and elevated levels of musicianship and considered approach. The flow of her playing here evokes the almost brutal scrape of the strings, which gives a welcome texture to the melodic squiggles.
Arthur Krumins
Hot Chip — LateNightTales (LateNightTales)
youtube
The LateNightTales series of artist-curated mixes has seen a fair bit of variation over the years since Fila Brazilia first took up the torch in 2001, which makes a certain amount of sense; how we spend our late nights can differ wildly, of course. Hot Chip’s instalment in the series hits some of the expected notes (at least one cover, in this case a deeply moving one of the Velvet Underground’s “Candy Says” they’ve been playing since Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard were in high school together; a closing story track, in this case Taylor’s father reading a bit from Finnegan’s Wake) and otherwise depicts the kind of late night Dusted readers might be more familiar with than most; one where a clearly voracious and eclectic listener is keeping their own private party going just for another hour or so, but always keeping things just quiet and subtle enough to not wake up anyone upstairs. The three other, non-cover new Hot Chip tracks all make for standouts here but there’s plenty of room for accolades, whether it’s for the smoothly groovy (Pale Blue, Mike Saita, Beatrice Dillon), the more avant garde (Christina Vantzou, About Group, Nils Frahm) to just plain off-kilter pop (Fever Ray, PlanningToRock, Hot Chip themselves). The result works as both a wonderful playlist and a survey of the band’s sonic world; and it does work best when everyone else is in bed.
Ian Mathers
Annette Krebs Jean-Luc Guionnet — Pointe Sèche (Inexhaustible Editions)
pointe sèche by Jean-Luc Guionnet, Annette Krebs
Annette Krebs and Jean-Luc Guionnet recorded the three long, numbered tracks on Pointe Sèche (translation: Dry Point) over the course of three days at St. Peter’s Parish church in Bistrica ob Sotli, Slovenia. Location matters because this music couldn’t happen just anywhere; Guionnet plays church organ. Krebs was once part of the post-Keith Rowe generation of tabletop guitarists, but since 2014 she has abandoned strings and fretboards in favor of a series of hybrid instruments called konstruktions. Konstruktion #4, which appears on this record, includes suspended pieces of metal, a handful of toy animals, a wooden sounding board, vocal and contact microphones and a couple touch screens that manage computer programs. While both musicians have extensive backgrounds in improvisation, this recording sounds more like an audio transcription of a multi-media collage. Guionnet plays his large instrument quite softly, extracting machine-like hums, brief burps and dopplering tones that flicker around the periphery of Krebs’ fragments of speech, distant clangs and unidentifiable events. The resulting sounds resolutely defy decoding, which is its own reward in a time when so much music can be reduced to easily identifiable antecedents.

 KMRU — ftpim (The Substation)
ftpim by KMRU
If you happened to catch Peel, Joseph Kamaru’s wonderful release on Editions Mego in late July, but haven’t paid attention before or since, early December’s half-hour two-tracker ftpim done for (and mastered by) Room40 leader Lawrence English is a Janus-faced example of the Nairobi-based ambient artist’s power. As Ian Forsythe put it in his BOGO review of both Peel and Opaquer, “Something that can define an effective ambient record is an ability to disintegrate the perimeter of the record itself and the outside world,” a line I think about every time I listen to KMRU now. “Figures Emerge” feels more immediately accessible to me as a relatable environment where the gentle, pulsing drone is occasionally greeted by sounds outside the studio, while “From the People I Met” is more difficult terrain, a distorted fog of post-shoegaze harmonic decay — no less interesting, but perhaps more metaphorical in its take on the outside world. (Or not, given how 2020 has gone.)
Patrick Masterson
  Paul Lovens / Florian Stoffner—Tetratne (Ezz-thetics)
Tumblr media
Enough years separate drummer Paul Lovens and guitarist Florian Stoffner that they could be father and son, and Lovens membership in the Schlippenbach Trio, and Lovens role as drummer in the legendarily long-running Schlippenbach Trio establishes him as an august elder of free improvisation. But the partnership they exhibit on this CD is one of equals committed to making music that is of one mind. Whether matching sparse string-tugging to purposefully collapsing batterie or burrowing sprung-spring wobbles to an immense cymbal wash, the duo plays without regard for showing us one guy or the other’s stuff. The point, it seems, is to how they imagine as one, and their combined craniums generate plenty of imagination. They operate in a realm close to that occupied by Derek Bailey and John Stevens, or Roger Smith and Louis Moholo-Moholo, but their patch of turf is entirely their own.
Bill Meyer
Mr. Teenage — Automatic Love (Self-Release)
Automatic Love by Mr. Teenage
Melbourne, Australia’s fertile garage punk scene has squeeze out another good one in Mr. Teenage, a Buzzcockian foursome prone to short, sharp riffs and sing-along choruses. A four-song EP starts with the title track, whose arch talk-sung verse erupts into rabid, rip-sawing guitar, like Devo meeting the Wipers. “Waste of Time” piles palm muted urgency with explosive release, with a good bit of the Clash in the crashing, clangor. “KIDS” struts and swaggers in a rough-edged way that’s close to the violence of early Reigning Sound or Texas’ Bad Sports. “Oh, the kids these days,” to borrow a phrase, they’re pretty good.
Jennifer Kelly
Nekra — Royal Disruptor (La Vida Es Un Mus)
Royal Disruptor by Nekra
Remember punk shows? Remember half-lit, dusty basements and fully lit, dirty kids? Remember your sneaker soles sticking to scuffed, gummy linoleum? Remember greasy denim battle jackets and hand-drawn Sharpie slogans? Remember warm beer (watery domestic suds in cans and cups) and cold stares (angsty bravado and bad attitude for its own sake)? Remember anarchists arguing with nihilists, and riot grrrls arguing with rocker boys? Remember people laughing and people smoking and people shouting and people spitting, all without masks? Remember the anticipation that crisps the air when the amps switch on? Feedback from the cheap-ass mic stabbing your ears? Beefy dudes elbowing through the press of flesh? That volatile, stomachy mix of happiness and truculence? Those warm-up thumps of the bass drum and the initial strums of crackling guitar? Remember all that? For the time being, in the United States of Dysfunction, here’s the closest thing you’ll get: an EP of feral, fast punk songs that sound like they’re happening live, right in front of your face. Thanks, Nekra — I really needed that.
Jonathan Shaw
Neuringer / Dulberger / Masri — Dromedaries II (Relative Pitch)
Dromedaries II by Keir Neuringer, Shayna Dulberger, Julius Masri
Yes, Dromedaries II is a sequel. It follows by three years a debut cassette which was sold in the sort of microquantities that 21st century cassettes are sold. So, it’s more likely that you have heard another of the bands that the trio’s alto saxophonist, Keir Neuringer, plays in — Irreversible Entanglements. While the two combos don’t sound that similar, they share a commitment to improvising propulsive, cohesive music that will put a boot up your butt if you get in the way. While IE focuses on supplying music that frames and exemplifies the stern proclamations of vocalist Camae Ayewa, the trio plays instrumental free jazz that balances individual expression with collective support. Neuringer, double bassist Shayna Dulberger and drummer Julius Masri play like their eyes are on the horizon, but each musician’s ears are tuned into what the other two are doing. The result is music that seems to move in concerted fashion, but usually has someone doing something that pulls against the prevailing thrust in ways that heighten tension, but never force the music off track.

Kelly Lee Owens — Inner Song (Smalltown Supersound)
youtube
One of the distinctive things about Kelly Lee Owens’ marvellous debut LP a few years ago, as noted here, is that it felt so confident and distinct that it could have easily been the work of a much more seasoned producer. That impression, of a deftly skilled hand at the controls and a keen artistic sensibility and taste shaping it all, certainly doesn’t recede on Inner Song, whether it finds Owens homaging the grandmother who provided support and inspiration (“Jeanette”), gently but firmly rejecting unhealthy relationships (the utterly gorgeous “L.I.N.E.”) or teaming up with John Cale to make some bilingual, deep Welsh ambient dub (“Corner of My Sky”). And that’s one pretty randomly chosen three-song run! Owens continues to excel at both crafting gorgeous, lived-in productions and maybe especially with her handling of voices (her own and others), and she’s comfortable enough in her own skin that if she wants to open up the album with an instrumental Radiohead version (“Arpeggi”) she will, and she’ll make it feel natural, too.

San Kazakgascar — Emotional Crevasse (Lather Records)
Emotional Crevasse by San Kazakgascar
You won’t find San Kazakgascar on any map, but give a listen and you’ll know where this combo is coming from. Geographically, they hail from Sacramento CA, where they share personnel with Swimming In Bengal. But sonically, they are the product of a journey through music libraries that likely started out in a Savage Republic and sweated in the shadow of Sun City Girls. They likely spent time in the teetering stacks of music collections compiled in a time when the problematic aspects of the term world music were outweighed by the lure of sounds you hadn’t heard before. More important than where they’ve been, though, is the impulse to go someplace other than where they’re currently standing. To accomplish this, twangy guitars, rhythms that straighten your spine whilst swiveling your hips, bottom-dredging saxophone and a cameo appearance by a throat singer who understands that part of a shaman’s job is to scare you each take their turn stepping up and pointing your mind elsewhere. Where it goes after that is up to you.

John Sharkey III — “I Found Everyone This Way” (12XU)
youtube
Has Sharkey mellowed? This early peek at the upcoming solo album from the Clockcleaner legend and Dark Blue proprietor suggests a pensive mood, with liquid jangle and surprisingly subdued and lyrical delivery (albeit in the man’s inimitable hollowed out and wounded snarl). But give the artist a power ballad if that’s what he wants. The song has a graceful arc to it, a doomed romanticism and not an ounce of cloying sentiment.

Sky Furrows — Sky Furrows (Tape Drift Records/Skell Records/Philthy Rex Records)
Sky Furrows by Sky Furrows
Sky Furrows don’t take long to match sound and message. As Karen Schoemer drops references to SST Records and Raymond Pettibone, bassist Eric Hardiman and drummer Philip Donnelly whip up a tense groove that could easily have been played by Mike Watt and George Hurley. Mike Griffin’s spidery, treble-rich guitar picking is a little less specifically referential, but does sound like it was fed through a signal chain of gear that would have been affordable back in the first Bush administration. The next track looks back a bit further; Schoemer’s voice aside, it sounds like Joy Division might have done if Tom Herman had turned up, pushed Martin Hannet out of the control room before he could ladle on the effects and instead laid down some space blues licks. Schoemer recites rather than sings in a cadence that recalls Lee Ranaldo’s; pre-internet underground rock is in this band’s DNA. The sounds themselves are persistently cool, but one drawback of having a poet instead of a singer up front is an apparent reluctance to vary the structure; it would not have hurt to break things up with some contrasting passages here or there.

Soft on Crime — “You’ve Already Made Up Your Mind” b/w “Rubyanne” (EatsIt)
7'' by Soft on Crime
These Dublin fuzz-punks kick up a guitar-chiming clangor in A-Side, “You’ve Already Made Up Your Mind,” which might have you reaching for your old Sugar records. Sharp but sweet, the cut is an unruly gem buoyed by melody but bristling with attitude. “Rubyanne” is slower, softer and more ingratiating, embellished with baroque pop elements like flute, saxophone and choral counterpoints. “Little 8 Track” fills out this brief disc, with crunching, buzz-hopped bass and a bit of guitar jangle under whisper-y romantic vocals. It’s a bit hard to get a handle on the band, based on such disparate samples, but intriguing enough to make you want to settle the matter whenever more material becomes available.

Theoxinia — See the Lapith King Burn (Bandcamp)
See the Lapith King Burn by Theoxenia
Students of Greek mythology will grasp it right away, but in the internet age, it doesn’t take anyone long to figure out that when you name your record See the Lapith King Burn, you’re casting your lot for better or worse with the party animals. The Lapiths were one side of a lineage that also involved the considerably less sober-sided Centaurs, and the two sides of the family had a bloody showdown at a wedding that has been taken to symbolize the war between civilization and wildness. Theoxinia is Dave Shuford (No-Neck Blues Band, Rhyton, D. Charles Speer & the Helix) and his small circle of stringed instruments and low-cost repeating devices. If you were to dig through his past discography, it most closely resembles the LP Arghiledes (Thrill Jockey) in its explicitly Hellenic-psychedelic vibe. But, like so many folks in recent times, Shuford has decided to bypass the expanse and aggravation of physical publication in favor of marketing this LP-sized recording on Bandcamp. If that fact really bugs you, I guess you could start a label and make the man an offer. But if fuzz-tone bouzouki, sped-up loops and unerringly traced dance steps that will look most convincing when executed with a knife between your teeth and the sheriff’s wallet poking mockingly out of the top of your breast pocket sounds like your jam, See the Lapith King Burn awaits you in the realm of digital insubstantiality.

Trees — 50th Anniversary Edition (Earth Recordings)
Trees (50th Anniversary Edition) by Trees
This boxed set presents the two original Trees albums from the early 1970s, The Garden of Jane Delawney and On the Shore, with the addition of demos and sundry recordings from the era. Here the band took the UK folk rock sound emergent at the time and drew it out into its jammy and somewhat arena rock guitar soloing conclusion. It’s good to have all of this in one place to document the myriad ways that Trees wrapped traditional material into new forms and with a bracing, druggy feel.
Arthur Krumins
 Uncivilized — Garden (UNCIV MUSIC)
Garden by Uncivilized
Guitarist Tom Csatari presides over NYC-based large jazz ensemble known as Uncivilized, whose fusion-y discography stretches back a couple of years and prominently incorporates a cover of the Angelo Badalamenti theme from Twin Peaks. This 27-track album was recorded live at Brooklyn’s Pioneer Works space in 2018 with a nine-piece band, who navigate drones and dances and the multi-part Meltedy Candy STOMP, a sinuous exploration of space age keyboards and surging big band instruments. Jaimie Branch, who lives next door to Csatari and was invited on a whim at the last minute, joins in for the second half including a smoldering rendition of the Lynch theme. It’s damn fine (though not coffee). Later on, Stevie Wonder gets the Uncivilized treatment in a pensive cover of “Evil,” led by warm guitar, blowsy sax and a little bit of jazz flute.
Jennifer Kelly
Unwed Sailor — Look Alive (Old Bear Records)
Look Alive by Unwed Sailor
Johnathon Ford, who plays bass for Pedro the Lion, has been at the center of Unwed Sailor for two decades, gathering a changing cohort of players to realize his lucid instrumental compositions. Here, as on last year’s Heavy Age, Eric Swatzell adds guitars and Matthew Putnam drums to Ford’s essential bass and keyboard sounds. Yet while Heavy Age brooded, Look Alive grooves with bright clarity, riding insistent basslines through highly colored landscapes of synths and drums. The title track bounds with optimism, with big swirls of synth sound enveloping a rigorous cadence of bass and drums. “Camino Reel” is more guitar-centric but just as uplifting, opening out into squalling shoe-gaze-y walls of amplified sound. Ford, who usually leans on post-punk influences like New Order and the Cure, indulges an affinity for dance, here, especially audible on the trance-y “Gone Jungle” remix by GJ.

Your Old Droog — Dump YOD Krutoy Edition (Self-released)
Dump YOD: Krutoy Edition by YOD
American rapper Your Old Droog has been releasing solid music for years. He never had ups for the same reason he never had downs: he never left his comfort zone. Dump YOD Krutoy Edition (where “krutoy” stands for “rude boy” or “badass”) may be his breakthrough album. He always kept his Soviet origins in check, and here for the first time he draws his imagery from three different sources: New York urban present, Ukrainian folk and Soviet and post-Soviet past (even Boris Yeltsin makes an appearance). In this boiling pot, a new Your Old Droog is rising, among balalaikas and mean streets of NYC, matryoshkas and producers with boring beats, babushkas and graffiti writers.

═══════ ೋღ ღೋ ═══════
Kim Seokjin - bitter
Kim Seokjin was a model student, as well as both a model and a student. He excelled in everything and was loved by all, the only problem was you. You were always there either ahead, beside, or behind and you didn’t even try. Here he was trying his hardest with his studies and taking care of his appearance, skin, diet, and fitness. Not to mention struggling to get modeling gigs around the school, he would fight tooth and nail and you were rocking up last minute getting calls to join his photo shoots. He couldn’t escape you.
But the fans loved you together, they had started to ship you both bringing up your intertwined paths and he felt guilty for reading some of the fanfictions written about you, both because he hated and loved them. They always painted him as a gentleman that helps and protects you and has swag and you are sweet and attentive.
He wishes that were more like you. When you spill coffee on him in fanfics you help him dry and change maybe sneaking a kiss in the change room. In real life, you just give an ‘oops sorry’ and move on leaving him in a stained shirt.
That is until he wants to check the time but is too lazy to get his phone from his bag so he gets yours off the desk. Your background is a picture of the two of you from your first photoshoot. He feels kind of warm and soft at the thought. When a notification pops up, [Underwear: by JinxReader4life has updated chapter 15] A smile spread across Seokjin’s face as he placed down the phone and went to his bag for his own.
Searching for the fic, he found himself blushing, this was a heavy romance and he was kind of a jerk. He had to stop reading ready for the photoshoot, which funnily enough was an underwear and pajama company. After the pajama shots together laying and sitting on a bed. Jin was soon only wearing boxer briefs and you were in bra’s and underwear.
He was supposed to sit with you on his lap looking kind of sexy when he posed exactly how the fic described and he whispered in your ear the exact line from the fic. “We have to stop meeting like this, someone might think you have a crush on me”
Your cheeks were bright red and you buried your face in his chest, in embarrassment. Maybe he didn’t feel so bitter after all, maybe he enjoyed your unexpected company.
Min Yoongi - almond
It was getting cold, you shivered when your feet touched the bare wooden floors. “Where are my slippers, Holly?”
“Wait, I will get your slippers?” Yoongi laughed getting out of bed and racing around to locate and help you put on your slippers. You scuffed through the house freezing. “Why am I so cold?”
“How big are we today my love?” Yoongi opened his dressing gown and letting you snuggle against his chest.
“Um…” You checked your phone before slipping from his embrace to the cupboard. “Today marks the middle of week nine and today, the baby is the size of this almond”
“Wow you are growing so fast, I remember when you were just a little grain of rice?” He whispered to your belly.
Jung Hoseok - Tongue
“Hey Y/n,” Namjoon called, “someone named Tongue emoji is calling?”
You raced for the phone and snatched it from Namjoon cheeks heating up, “Hello baby, is everything okay?”
The boys were all watching you and you tried to avoid their eye contact “I will let them know, okay bye”
“Who was that?” Seokjin and Taehyung grinned poking your sides with teasing laughter.
“Hoseok says he is going to be five minutes late he is just picking up some things”
They teased you to no end and just as you thought the teasing died down, Hoseok walked in grabbing you by the back of the head and kissing you fiercely. “Ah so that’s why”
“Why what?” Hoseok asked with a smile
“Why you are named tongue emoji in Y/n’s phone” Jimin nodded
“That’s not why Jiminie” Hoseok grinned cheekily and got ready for dance practice.
Kim Namjoon - twister
“Ha ha ha” Heavy panting from Namjoon was all that could be heard in the moment, as beads of sweat rolled slowly down his neck.
“Namjoon you have to loosen up, you aren’t loosing this for us” You shouted “We have to win come on”
“Yeah I get that but you try to put left foot red while you’re bending backward of Jungkook and under Seokjin” He hissed his foot almost slipping as he slid it behind him. “Who’s idea was it to choose the rooms with a game of twister?”
“Come on Namjoon, think of the master bedroom” You laughed, you didn’t really mind what room you got, you just liked to cheer Namjoon on, knowing he preferred the push and encouragement to when you were indecisive or dismissive. He liked to work hard to accomplish things for you.
Park Jimin - chaos
Namjoon dropped Jimin off at day care with a small smile watching him run off to his best friend Taehyung, the two hugged before they shared the dinosaurs amongst the two of them. Namjoon loved nothing more than being a dad, and was glad that when he started back at work he would still receive updates from the Day care centre with pictures and stories of how Jimin’s day was going. Today started the same breakfast and playing with toys and music inside and then it moved to playing outside.
The next picture had Namjoon in stitches it seems Jimin had upturned the massive sunscreen dispenser and he and Taehyung were covered in a thick layer of the uv protecting cream.
Kim Taehyung - never
You were playing a game of never, Taehyung said the dreaded “Never have I ever kissed someone,” putting a finger down himself but getting two other people out. It seems he would risk his own fate to get the others out. He turned to see you with all five fingers up and frowned.
“What do you mean you have never kissed someone?”
“I just, no one really looks at me that way, I am not really the person people want to kiss” You shrugged and he surprised leaning in his lips brushing your softly and as he pulled away he realized.
“Oh I am so sorry, I didn’t even ask?” He pulled you into a hug apologizing and you laughed.
“It was fine, it felt nice thank you for being someone I trust to give me my first kiss” You thanked him.
“That wasn’t a real kiss, people kiss there loved ones like that” Namjoon hissed feeling slightly annoyed he had gotten out.
Taehyung leaned in whispering gently, so close you could taste the sweet wine on his breath, “Can I kiss you again?”
Jeon Jungkook - voices
(I know I have done something like this before but the new RUNBTS ep got me wanting to write a series like this)
Jungkook started playing the latest online mmorpg, meeting some of the best players and slowly becoming the top guild within the game Pillage of Power known by the youth as POP! The guild Castle Bangtan was run by some really smart young man that Jungkook looked up to. His name was Ramon of destruction and he was their brains.
Next was WWH, he was the Cleric a full of bad puns but the best buffer, had really quick protection spells and an odd animal companion. Suga/r was their lazy wizard who had so much skill and yet never used it unless they needed it. HobiHobi was there champion he was a great ranger, he had a sharp shot and rarely ever missed.
Chimmy was a Barbarian and he was always ready to fight, he put in a lot of effort so as not to let the team down. Vante was a Rogue, the most sneaky of the group always sharpening his skills when he could. And that Left Jungkook known as Kookie the Bard he could charm anyone if he tried. They were the top guild but they were being challenged by the rising guild T1 there members Faker, Teddy, Effort, Cuzz, and Canna.
The tournament began everyone who had a guild had the chance to compete to rank in the game and Castle Bangtan was rising quickly up the ranks. The POP! Tournament came down to the last four teams the Semi finals and the finals were to be broadcasted in the large stadium, The other teams were professional gamers in teams and here they were just a group of nobodies from different towns and cities in South Korea.
Jungkook was handed the purple jumpsuit he was to wear during the broadcast, they had their names on the back. He slipped into the suit he had been sized for over email and he grinned. He felt so cool. Stepping out into the waiting room out back he saw a broad shouldered gentleman, “You must be Chimmy the barbarian?”
“No, I am WWH” He laughed his squeaky laugh.
Jungkook looked around and saw a tall figure, his black jumpsuit with the purple trims had the words Ramon of destruction. Trying so hard not to freak out he stood by the refreshments. “Try the lamb skewers, they are nice” a drawl said from the couch.
“Suga” Jungkook said grinning
“Kookie” He gave a soft smile back and shook his hands.
“Don’t get nervous now” Suga sat up and patted the younger boys back, “Chimmy has already drank his weight in water and is in the bathroom again.
“I am back, does anyone else think the legs of the jump suit are super tight, I can barely walk, feels like I am going to bust them”
Jungkook saw the young man and smiled, he knew that voice anywhere this was Chimmy the Barbarian and yet he looked too delicate in person for the part.

One of the ways tumblr trips folks up is they will see a gif set and think that something is a canon romance when it isn't or it will portray a scene that isn't a running story in the show.
The latest is COISA MAIS LINDA / GIRLS FROM IPANEMA where a gif set of two women making out has people excited to tune in thinking they are getting a lesbian storyline when one of the characters is bisexual (maybe both since Helo doesn't specifically state her sexuality) plus married to a man where they have an open marriage and the affair between the women only lasts like 2-3 eps mostly offscreen. 👀 👀
Tumblr media
.
Folks should always take tumblr gif sets with a grain of salt or google a show first to may sure you are not setting yourself up for disappointment.

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 11/4
There were a few nice tidbits from DCCon about the latest filmed episodes (9-10). These have been a busy few weeks for me, so if I have missed anything or messed it up, let me know! I had a detail from ep 10 listed as 9, which is fixed now. Remember- this is for fun and somethings will be wrong! Enjoy the episode this week after a week off.
DISCLAIMER: This is gathered info from various sources. This is not confirmed information. Stuff in this WILL be wrong. Don’t take this too seriously. This is for fun.
General Info (oldest to newest)
There is likely to be 20 episodes
They are filming the 4th episode 1st, which Jensen is directing
Returning this year are: Rowena, Ketch, Eileen, Amara, Adam, and Kevin
Jared and Jensen know the ending. Jensen struggled with it at first. Misha does not know the ending as of SDCC
Matt Cohen and Richard Speight Jr. will direct
Sam, Dean, and Cas will struggle with the concept of free will and if they ever really had it
The focus will be more on Hell than Heaven
There is hope to wrap up some Wayward Daughters storylines in the back half of the season
They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?)
Brad Bucker used the word “romance” when asked about Sam and Dean’s arcs. Did not specify who.
Chuck will be more of an absent protagonist in the 1st half of the season (but he in in ep 4)
At the beginning of the season Dean and Cas will still have a rift. They will reconcile “at some point”. Jensen claims as of script 4 they still have friction. This has been repeated several times, from Misha as well. He indicated Dean is still mad at Cas, but Cas doesn’t feel to blame for Mary’s death.
In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean
Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off. Hell, I’d watch.
There will be a special tribute ep, not clear if its one of the 20 or additional
Misha will be in 15 out of 20 episodes this season
According to Dabb, Sam and Dean are going to start to lose people who, in past seasons, we would’ve never lost — and lose them in a very real way. Our guys are going to realize there’s a certain finality, and some of the things they’ve relied on to get through the day — people, talents, things like that — they are no longer going to be able to roll out. And that’s going to throw them for a loop (Unfortunately, my guess in Rowena)
Also according to Dabb, Jack is still in the empty and “he’s not coming back in the near future”
Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.
Kevin will return.
Season 15 promo: https://youtu.be/V232RpcCdTY
Christan Kane (Leverage/Angel) will star as “Leo” an “old friend” of Deans.
Dabb intimated that Chuck was inherently responsible for killing Mary when asked how the boys would respond to Jack.
Adam Rose, who played Aaron Bass from the golem episode vauge-tweeted about working a show with two badass leads. Could be Supernatural, but I think the timing is off- he indicated he was filming late Friday night.
General season 15 promo- more of a retrospective: https://youtu.be/_hlkNQL5Ecg
Dabb compared Chuck and John Winchester, claiming that Dean would have to break free of “conditioning.” Also, for Jack “there have been cosmic forces fighting for his attention since he was in the womb — and that will continue. As much as this season is about Sam and Dean finding agency, it’s also about Castiel finding agency, and it’s about Jack finding agency. As always, death is never the end. It’s just part of the journey and that’s certainly true with Jack.”
Per Variety: At the outset of the season, the “Supernatural” foursome of Dean, Sam, Castiel and Jack are split up, but Dabb notes they won’t be for long because “ultimately this is a found family, and they have deep emotional bonds” that make up the most important part of the show.
Sam’s wound from the equalizer gives his powers/an advantage of some kind (per TVGuide)
Jack will be a critical part of the ending of the show
The cage/Adam is looking like it will be coming up for midseason
Shaving People, Punting Things: https://youtu.be/azTwku2uosA
The shaving promo, punting things promo shows glimpses or Lucifer!Sam and MOC!Dean, as well as bearded Dean in tactical equipment. Recent interviews by Dabb seem to indicate that these are glimpses into other universes, a la Apocalypse World, and other endings from Sam and Dean.
According to the MarySue and other interviews, Sam’s bullet hole will give him a connection and insight to god- like a tin can telephone string.
In the cage, Micheal and Adam have formed a working relationship (MarySue)
Dean and Amara’s connection will be explored
There will be a bunker themed episode (MarySue)
According to Misha (Cinablend) Dean and Cas will have discord up to ep 8- which is the mid-season finale.
At a convention, Jake Abel was asked to share two lies about Adam’s return and a truth. The said 1. Adam is not upset about hell 2. Adam kills someone 3. Adam bring someone back. I am assuming its the bring someone back (Micheal?)
Episode 15x04 (filmed out of order)

Sneak Peak:
Castiel? Probably not  Jack? Probably not
Guest stars:  Rob Benedict
Other Spoilers/info:
Jensen mentioned  a guest star “fan favorite”  that hasn’t been seen since season 7 that is no longer in the business. Guesses include Becky, who hasn’t acted in a while but isn't exactly a fan favorite, Meg, who hasn't acted but she was in season 8, and Balthazar or Frank or Jo or Rufus, but all act frequently. Jensen doesn't always have the most accurate season memory, so he could be off on the season. Since this seems like a Chuck episode, my guess is Becky but I hope for Meg. SOURCE UNCONFIRMED- I haven’t seen this in a reliable source, so take it with a grain of salt. UPDATE- it sounds like Becky’s voice in the Shaving People, Punting things trailer. UPDATE- Jensen talked about a returning character in an interview with Variety in a completely contradictory way to this- a favorite male character of his that is busy working. Another guest? Or was he wrong the first time?
There was a beaver mascot on set… it looks like they are filming at a school called Beaverdale
Jensen and Jared filed outside in fed suits
Chuck will be in this one. Jensen directed him first alone with his beard unshaved (so maybe a solo Chuck scene or him interacting with others/not the boys). There are also theories of a time jump in this ep.
This will be a one off, classic monster hunting episode with some ties to ongoing storylines. Sam and Dean will leave the bunker to keep their skills sharp
Jensen directed
Misha will not be in this ep
SD Comic Con was during filming
Dean will be in the bunker in tactical equipment with a BEARD- fighting someone
 Episode 15x05

Other Spoilers/info::
This will most likely be Yockey’s last episode.
Matt Cohen was around, but I imagine he is following directors to prep for his own debut directing.
Scenes were filmed in the bunker and in a wooded area. A woman could be heard screaming in the outside scene.
The bible verse referenced is: “The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: But the LORD trieth the hearts.”
 Episode 15x06

Other Spoilers/info :
Misha posted from set in new shoes- very shiny with well tailored pants. (The next day he posted in full Cas costume, so are the shoes a one off? Another outfit with new shoes?)
Misha and Jensen made a video from set. I feel like if Jared was around he would have been in it since it was about money raised?  Maybe a Dean Cas scene?
There will be a battle scene in this that Jensen mentioned he was looking forward to and we would enjoy.
After NJ Con, it appeared that Jensen returned to work, Jared and Misha stayed an extra day and then Misha went home.
Jensen and Christian filmed at a bar called Swazey’s. This was the fight scene Jensen was referring to.
At some point, Sam might be shirtless or we can see part of his chest- Jared had his anti-possession tattoo at the weekend convention.
Per TVGuide, Leo and Dean will have a wild night out in an effort for Dean to recapture his mojo. Dean will become the lead of a band called Dean and the Impalas, which is made up of Supernatural crew.
Osric Chau popped over to set, but he is filming on Legends of Tomorrow in the same studio. Sebastin Roche also indicated he would come by, he is filming on Batgirl. Unfortunately, neither Kevin or Balthazar will appear in this one.

Shoshannah Stern was spotted on set- Eileen!
This will be the midseason finale
At BurCon, Misha mentioned Dean is still acting like “a dick” in the ep they were filming- which is this one.

Okay, here's my two cents on the whole Death By Damnation thing and the latest episode.
Where is the book?
I don’t know, but I do not think it is with Sammy. Sammy seemed surprised when Mr. X said Jack had the book. Sammy says, “Mr. X, that-that doesn’t add up, that’s only three copies: the library fire, HFB3’s copy, the-the Salem copy... Where’s the last copy of the book? I mean maybe that’s easier to get to...” (ep 91, 33:29-33:40). We know Sammy, Lily, Ben, and Emily are all working on The One stuff, so this book is obviously a major part of it. Though Sammy has a bad habit of omitting things to prevent his friends from getting hurt (Sammy not telling Ben that Debbie said Emily is Unwritten, anything about Jack, past life, etc.) I don’t think this is the case.
We don’t know a lot about before when Sammy came to King Falls, but we do know Jack shunned Sammy: ”I begged him to get help and he shunned me” (ep 68, 19:59-20:05)  and Sammy was skeptical “I never heard or saw them, he-he’d play me voicemails of little scratches and ticks and just random fucking noises but it meant nothing to me but it meant everything to him” (ep 68, 19:48-19:56) and “I didn't believe any of this- this town’s shit but he did Jack always bought in” (ep 68, 17:24-17:32). Obviously, Sammy wasn’t up to date on the whole King Falls thing. The only thing Sammy did take note of was that Jack bought a lot of books “...he would order books upon books about it all...“ (ep 68, 19:20-19:22). It is more than likely Sammy didn’t know all the books and information Jack had. Sammy was oblivious and so a book like this wouldn’t have stood out.
So if Sammy doesn’t know where the book is, where did it go? It could be with Sammy if Sammy took Jack’s research and paraphernalia. Sammy didn’t bring out his ring for a long time (ep 86), so it can be inferred maybe Sammy has them in some boxes he hasn’t touched because he’s still grieving (grieving usually doesn’t stop for the person). If could also be in a King Falls storage facility. It took 5 months for Sammy to move, and though Sammy’s stated he wanted to “gtfo” with his fiance as fast as he could, moving to King Falls was a big step in permanence. If not there, and assuming Sammy sold the house (which might not have) it could be in a storage facility in where Sammy lived previously, with family or friends, donated, or thrown away.
Basically, the main places the book could be are:
With Sammy
At Sammy and Jack’s old house
In a storage facility in King Falls or where Jack and Sammy lived
With Family/Friends
Thrown away
Donated
If Sammy doesn’t know where it is, I assume they aren’t going to have the book by the next episode. That is unless Ben and Sammy go to Salem.
Did the book make Jack vanish?
My main guess is no. Emily states “Though, I think the bigger problem was the disappearance of Mrs. Kilpatrick.” (ep 2, 4:38-4:42), so with I infer that Mrs. Kilpatrick did go missing after the fire and presumably after finding the book. On the other hand, Debbie says there are a lot of people in the Void “There are so many, so very many trapped here” (ep 89, 29:40-29:45). There are four books, now three. If we take Debbie at her word (though we should take her with a grain of salt), it is very improbable that the 4 books managed to bring that many people into the void. Even if it is like 20, but I’m guessing it’s a lot more than that. Also, Lily’s intern Mike vanished just like Jack. Pippa: “Mike is gone!” ... “Our car is in the parking lot, Lily. The doors are all open and the engine still... it was still on. Like Jack.”  (TKFC 2, 55:11-55:26) We’re assuming he didn’t have the book, as that is basically impossible.
But what is the common link between all of these disappearances? Debbie.
Debbie said she made Kilpatrick disappear “Or so help me I will end you, Potter, just like the one before you!” (ep 89, 35:45-35:47)
Debbie called Mike before he went missing. “I heard her.” (TKFC 2, 47:112-47:14) Mike then plays the voicemail Debbie left where Debbie tells them to leave (TKFC 2, 47:36-48:20).
Jack was getting voicemails and messages from Debbie before vanished. Sammys says, “She said his name, Ben, and it took long enough for me to figure this out but I think she's the one  who was talking to him before he came to King's Falls” (ep 68, 29:29-29:37)
Debbie is the common link between all of these. Almost any time she contacts someone, they go missing. Is Debbie good? I don’t know. She could be leading them into the void by acting innocent. In episode 35 she leads Troy to the shadow tornado. She acted innocent then, but she also almost go Troy killed. She also mentions Jack’s name in King Falls Chronicles Part 2. Debbie says, “Get out of town as fast as you can. Don’t. Don’t end up like me. Like Jack.” (TKFC 2, 48:07-48:20). Then in episode 89 (29:00-29:41), Debbie doesn’t know who Jack is when talking to Sammy, but also drops some interesting info:
Sammy: “You-you know others. You know others there, is that correct?”
Debbie: “No is an interesting way to put it. I know of others. So many others, but they aren’t with me, nor am I with them. But we are connected by him. We work against him. Through him.”
Sammy: “Jack. Jack Wright. Do you know a Jack Wright?”
Debbie: “I-that name doesn’t-it doesn’t. No, I-I’m sorry.”
Sammy: “Okay, Jack Wright, he has black hair, brown eyes, he-he played rugby. Debbie, please, I am asking you-I’m begging you. You have to dig here. Jack- Jack Wright”
Ben: “Sammy, she doesn’t- she doesn’t know him”
Debbie: “Just because I don’t know his given name doesn’t mean he isn’t here.”
So Debbie doesn’t know Jack here. It seems she talks the longest here. She usually is interrupted by the Shadowmaker. Along with that, she also mentions she works through the Shadowmaker. What if that works the other way around? What if Debbie can used as a puppet by the Shadowmaker and lure people into the Void? When yelling at Emily her voice even changes. The Shadowmaker could also be impersonating Debbie, or Debbie could be doing the Shadowmakers bidding or be one of his slaves or personas.
Basically, I think Debbie is what took Jack, not the book. The book is an extra step.
Who is The Dark?
Pete or Dwayne or some other person. I think it’s Pete. A month or two Dwayne Libbydale theories were popping up. Is there a chance it could be him? Yes. Mary says he was working with Tim on something at night. But also you know Kyle is reading everything, so maybe they could be fooling us. But in the latest episode, Pete starts busting out some noises that sound The Dark-esqe when fighting Jacob and even tries to do a round-house kick. I personally think it won’t be revealed. They’ve made it this long without letting it slip, so at this point, it is basically a joke.
I don’t know. I think the writers might be tricking us or just never going to reveal it as a running joke.
I spent way too much time doing this. I’m tired. Anyways night and feel free to message me or add your own stuff.

Air Force: Ukraine downs 9 out of 19 missiles fired at Odesa Oblast overnight
Tumblr media
Ukraine downed four Russian Kalibr cruise missiles and five Iskander short-range missiles fired at Odesa Oblast overnight on July 23, the country’s Air Force reported.
According to the Air Force, Russia launched a total of 19 missiles from the Black Sea and occupied Crimea, killing one person and injuring 19, including four children.
In its deadly strike on Ukraine’s southern region, Russia used, according to Ukraine’s Air Force:
five Oniks cruise missiles;
three Kh-22 cruise missiles;
four Kalibr cruise missiles;
five Iskander-K;
two Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
As per usual, the Air Force didn’t specify where the 10 missiles that weren’t taken down hit.
Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper said the attack destroyed or damaged six residential buildings, two architectural landmarks and dozens of cars.

This is the latest in a series of attacks on Odesa that Russian forces have launched this week, targeting critical port and grain infrastructure following Moscow’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 9/23
So we got the latest batch of episode titles, ep 1 synopsis, confirmation of Misha in 15x06, and a director for 15x07. Set reports are DRY.... I wonder if the last season has stepped up the secrecy. Here is to hoping there will be a “Shaving People, Punting Things” preview this week- usually they come out on Fridays. Here you go:
General Info (oldest to newest)
There is likely to be 20 episodes
They are filming the 4th episode 1st, which Jensen is directing
Returning this year are: Rowena, Ketch, Eileen,Amara, Adam, and Kevin
Also according to Dabb, Jack is still in the empty and “he’s not coming back in the near future” (this makes no sense. He’s on set for several episodes- interacting with the boys)
Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.
Kevin will return.

 Episode 15x01
Title: Back to the Future
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: Picking up where we left off last season, Sam, Dean and Castiel are left to defend the world after all the souls in hell have been released and are back on Earth and free to kill again.
Written by: Dabb
Director: Showwalter
Filming Dates:  7/30-8/9 (no filming 8/5 for Canadian holiday)
Airdate: Oct 10

Promo: (for at least ep one and two) ttps://youtu.be/V232RpcCdTY
Sneak Peak:
Castiel? Yes Jack ? yes
Guest stars:
Other Spoilers/info:
The first episode will start right where the previous left off
Misha posed with the John Wayne Gacy clown
Jensen posted a series of pics- one clean shaven, one vid of him shaving, and one where he    appeared to be in character with blood and dirt on his face and in Dean plaid, but with his beard… confusing- some time jump theories are developing for ep 4.
Jensen was photoed filming (wearing an FBI jacket)outside with Alex
Misha and Jared filmed outside with a woman and young girl. They were running from the clown guy and a few other zombie looking creatures. CAS WAS NAKED (haha just no trench) and holding a shotgun. It could have been rehearsal and there was no camera in the clip shared by a fan which might explain the coat? Another fan said it was hot and Misha kept taking the coat off, so I’m sure this just a piece of rehearsal footage.
Alex was filming in white sunglasses. Other set photos indicate he had makeup on his eyes making them look burnt out. There is some spec that Jack will come back blind.
Misha posted a pic of the 4 of them in the impala
According to Variety, the boys will escape the zombies in a temp shelter. They are working together, but Cas feel “detached.” Misha seems to indicate that Cas feels unfairly blamed in Mary’s death and is deeply upset about Jack.
 Episode 15x02
Title: Raising Hell
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
Written by: Buckleming
Director: Singer
Filming Dates:  8/12- 8/21
Airdate: 10/17

Promo:
Sneak Peak:
Castiel? YES Jack ? YES
Guest stars: Ruth Connell, David Haydn-Jones, Rob Benedict, Emily Swallow (?)
Other Spoilers/info (newest to oldest):
A set was a high school set up to be a shelter.
Chuck, Ketch and Rowena will be in this. Maybe Amara too. Emily Swallow was in town for only a short time, so I imagine it would just be a scene or two
Ghosts/zombies were seen on set. There will be a scene with Rowena attacking them that includes at least Dean and Cas.
There will be one longer scene in a park.
Alex was in sunglasses again - not sure if this is a costume thing or an Alex thing
Ruth posted two vids of Misha claiming that he had filmed several scenes, but had no dialog - over three days so it must be a scripted reason (A spell? Chuck? Is he giving Dean the silent treatment?)
Ruth posted a video with her trailer, but the video showed Alex’s as well, so Jack
Misha posted from set in costume. Minus the coat again, but I’m still blaming the heat…. But he was without in the two Ruthie videos as well… soo……? I don’t know. I still think it's a heat issue.
Night shoots are scheduled in a warehouse. Hand painted signs indicating quarantine were nearby
 Episode 15x03
Title: The Rupture
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
Written by: Berens
Director: Charles Beeson
Filming Dates:  8/22-9/2
Airdate: 10/24
Photos:
Promo:
Sneak Peak:
Castiel? yes Jack? yes
Guest stars:  Ruthie Connell
Other Spoilers/info (newest to oldest):
Part of this ep will take place in hell as well as the cemetery where Jack died at the end of last season
Misha mentioned a scene at VanCon with him, Sam, Dean, Rowena, and Jack
Sam Smith was on set, but I would imagine she was visiting as she was in town for VanCon
Episode 15x04 (filmed out of order)
Title: Atomic Monsters
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
Written by:
Director: Jensen Ackles
Filming Dates:  7/18-7/29
Airdate:
Photos:
Promo:
Sneak Peak:
Castiel? Probably not  Jack? Probably not
Guest stars:  Rob Benedict
Other Spoilers/info (newest to oldest):
 Episode 15x05
Title: Proverbs 17:3
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
Written by: Yockey
Director: Speight
Filming Dates:  9/4-9/13
Airdate:

Promo:
Sneak Peak:
Castiel? No  Jack? doubtful
Guest stars:
Other Spoilers/info (newest to oldest):
This will most likely be Yockey’s last episode.
Matt Cohen was around, but I imagine he is following directors to prep for his own debut directing.
Scenes were filmed in the bunker and in a wooded area. A woman could be heard screaming in the outside scene.

Interview with Max Leone
We had the pleasure of interviewing Max Leone over Zoom video!
After inciting widespread critical buzz and fan anticipation, up-and-coming songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Max Leone reveals his debut EP, Malleable, today alongside a new video for track from the project “Escape”. The Clyde Munroe directed video is a dark and stylistic representation of the emotions that Max expresses throughout the lyrics of the new track. Released via Darkroom Records, the EP is out now at all digital retailers, watch the video for “Escape” above or listen to the full project HERE.
Boasting a bevy of fan favorite tunes, the nine-track EP taps into every facet of Max’s enigmatic alternative approach to pop. On “in case (there’s a change of heart),” dusty acoustic guitar creaks underneath his untouched vocal delivery as he confesses, “I’m just online pretending I’m fine, in case there’s a change of heart.” Piano upholds the cinematic “Escape” as he observes, “I sit and watch the fire burn and, suddenly, the lines are blurred,” while his falsetto pierces head-turning lines such as, “My head is on a swivel.” He paved the way for the EP with the latest single “untitled” last week.
Prior to release, tracks from the EP have gathered a total of X streams to date. Among other highlights, V Magazine touted “the craziest thing I’ve ever done” in “V’s New Music Round-Up” and went on to claim, “This lo-fi cinematic song almost feels anti-pop, going against the grain of fleetingly cheerful melodies for a darker energy.” Further praise followed from ThisSongIsSick, The Interns, and more.
ABOUT MAX LEONE:
Born and raised in Portland, Max Leone took up guitar at the age of seven, and later began experimenting with violin, drums, and piano. He soon started composing his own material and playing in jazz bands, in addition to teaching himself music production and posting his remixes to SoundCloud. Although his tremendous passion for music eventually led him to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music as a guitar principal, Leone left the school after one year and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time. Soon after signing with Darkroom Records, he made his label debut with “First Grade” — a January 2020 release that quickly garnered praise from outlets like Hillydilly. With singles such as “Malleable” and “The Beach” winning further acclaim, Leone will deliver his debut EP in 2021.

PÄFGENS
Tumblr media
Aptly named after the late Christa Päffgen, aka the fringey and baritoned Nico of the Velvet Underground and Chelsea Girl fame, Berlin-based duo Päfgens have just come out with an EP as dark and winding as Nico’s own love life. Their new EP Arthrolyse is a beautiful encapsulation of the collective sigh that marked the end of an intense and bizarre year for quite literally every single person on the planet.
Tumblr media
Having met in the über brutalist capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, Filip and Jana paired up in the studio (and in real-life) and have been a rather prolific band ever since. Their sound has pendulated from melancholy post-soviet shoegaze to heavy introspective drone, and Arthrolyse occupies a sleepy space somewhere in between. The first track, Arthrolyse 1, was originally released on a Noiseberg Sessions compilation, and is now the cinematic opening of their latest release. Entirely improvised, Päfgens’ latest music takes a departure from their particularly breathy/jangley brand of indie ambient, opting for an inspired and spontaneous aural stream-of-consciousness. Recording a myriad of instruments through Ableton, and onto a tape recorder creates a sort of super 8 grain and warmth to the whole soundscape, adding an organic depth and dimension to their ever loosening song structures. This transformation of arrangement sets Arthrolyse and their 2019 album, the slightly heavier Der Sturm, apart from Päfgens’ other records as a sort of sonic happening, more of an audio experience not meant to be hemmed in by the accepted rules of music composition.
Tumblr media
The second half of the EP takes a languid turn at  Arthrolyse II--a buzzy and lackidasical track that comes in and out of focus as a background hum slowly peters out into a soft gurgle of flowing water. Arthrolyse oscillates through a meditative semiconscious daydream where the destination is just a deeper aspect of the starting point. The fuzzy looped guitars slowly sway like a sailboat docked in a twilit harbour and drops you off with bleary perpetuating waves, unsettling yet profound.
Tumblr media
Päfgens are currently collaborating with Isobutane on some material, to be out  this February on Slovakian label Deardred Records. Until then, dive into their lengthy discography and follow them on the internet!
