SO LIIKKE. the way I understand his backstory in pd. his dad was the leader of (?) the adventuring party w the greats. vyncent followed them on one adventure when he wasnt supposed to/they didnt know he was there until too late. he watched his dad betray them to get some sort of power from the lich and the whole. portal brain fusion thing happened and his dad got turned into the phylactery. you know this.

TURNING THIS INTO NHW from what you've already said about the greats. they were an independent hero team probably in another place. his dad was still like. maybe the leader ? but they were all friends n stuff, so virion as a kid just knew them as Dad's Cool Friends or the way I like to think abt it . like how sometimes ur parents have friends that you call aunt/uncle even when you're not related. whatever. so he super looked up to them and wanted to be like them when he grew up u know like kid stuff!!!!!!!!!! he sneaks out to follow them on some sort of patrol/mission or whatever. and watches his dad betray/kill the other greats.

THIS IS WHWRE. I AM LESS CONFIDENT. but now that I fucking know that capes can CHANGE THEIR NAME AND IDENTITY APPARENTLY. (fucking glaring at defiant) unless u have plans to make the lich an actual character. what if his dad's new . villain name or whatever is the lich. or something. narrative OHHHHH SHIT moment. either that or the lich is an actual separate character who is a villain who caused the betrayal through some sort of promise of power or mind control. maybe he's like their nemesis or something. I DUNNO. HOW ARE WE FEELING. IS THIS NOTJING. Just like !!! that one line about his dad being a murderer and knowing the greats are dead made me immediately go OH NO THOSE TWO THINGS ARE CONNECTED.
