The dino benches are super cute. The angle is a little weird, though. And there's other seating if you're scared of dinosaurs. Looks like there's non-dino flat benches in the back on the right and a raised stone bench / retaining wall area on the left with grass and trees. I'm a little worried that there's no arm rests on any of the seating areas, though. It might be difficult for people with mobility issues to stand back up. Super cute for in front of a dino museum, though! And I totally want one.

Going back to a damp day at the magnificent Daihonzan Eiheiji temple on the forest covered mountain slopes of the Yoshida district of Fukui Prefecture.

Eiheiji is as magnificent as it is serious about the practice of the Soto school of Zen Buddhism of which it is one of the most important temples in Japan.

These images were taken in the outer reaches of the temple grounds.

そもそも何故敦賀ドライブになったのかというと、同僚が日本海を見たことがないと話したことに始まります。名古屋港の海なら見たことある、と言うので、いやいや日本海は名古屋港の海とは全然違ってめちゃくちゃ綺麗だよ！？きれいな海も一度は見ておくべきだよ！と私が力説してこうなったのでした。

水晶浜の辺りは透明度がかなり高いので、同僚も私の力説した理由を分かってくれたはず。名古屋港と同じ「海」だけど、同じじゃないっしょ？？

山陰地方の海を見た時にもしみじみ思ったのですが、日本海側の透明度は、やっぱり太平洋側(東海近辺)とは一味違うなと思います。

泳ぐつもりはなかったけれど、タオルだけでも持ってくれば良かったなぁと後悔。ここまで来て目の前で眺めているだけなのもちょっと悲しい。

砂浜にパラソルを立てて本を読んでいる人とかもいて、いいなぁ、近くだったらこんな贅沢な景色の中で読書ができるのか……。

思わず自宅近くで、これぐらい美しい環境下で読書できるところはあるだろうかと考えてしまいました。ぱっと思いつくところだと……大きな川沿いの公園か、ダム湖を見下ろせる公園か……。ただダム湖が見下ろせる景色の良い場所は山道の途中にあるので、山道でいきなり座り込んで本を読んでいる人がいたら、通りかかった人はさぞかし怖いだろうと思うのです。

気候の良い時期には一度やってみたいんですけどね。屋外の自然の中で読書。
