Day 56/100: The Tie. The tie is a symbol in the shape of an arc similar to a large breve, used in Greek, phonetic alphabets, and Z notation. It can be used between two characters with spacing as punctuation, or non-spacing as a diacritic. It can be above or below, and reversed. Its forms are called tie, double breve, enotikon or papyrological hyphen, ligature tie, and undertie. I had never even seen this before, nevermind heard of it as punctuation. Day 52/100: The Question Comma. "Because not every question ends the sentence" A tool that authors can use to “reflect spoken language or thoughts more closely.” Except it's not commonly known and isn't found on the average (any?) keyboard. Day 9/100: The SarcMark (short for 'sarcasm mark', designed by Paul Sak) I thought this was a fun one to interpret & include in the project because although not widely used, a punctuation mark specifically to emphasize a sarcastic phrase, sentence or message is a welcome addition, certainly for online/social media use. Day 46/100: The Interrobang. It has all the drama and excitement of “?!” but without having to type two characters. What could be more useful than that?! The interrobang, also known as the interabang ‽ is a nonstandard punctuation mark used in various written languages and intended to combine the functions of the question mark (also called the "interrogative point") and the exclamation mark or exclamation point, known in the jargon of printers and programmers as "the bang".
