Time Hopper
Wondrous item, very rare, galactic
This fob watch is infused with powerful temporal magic. You can use an action to set the time on the watch face to between 1 and 60 seconds. The time remains set until you use a bonus action to press the button at the top of the watch, sending you forward in time the number of seconds set on the watch face. At the end of that time, you reappear in the same space. No time passes for you, and to others you appear to vanish and then reappear. The time hopper can be used once per day.

Something I've never really understood is people comparing Star Trek and Star Wars. Not only because the genres are so different (sci-fi vs sci-fantasy) or the fundamental difference that is the absence of Earth entirely in the Star Wars universe (Star Trek is meant to be about a recognisable, if improbable, future, whereas Star Wars is a Space Opera a Long Time Ago and Far Far Away).
But the biggest difference I see is that the two are set in fundamentally different times.
Yes, yes, I know that's obvious. I literally just pointed out the 'Long Time Ago' bit, but bear with me.
Star Trek is set in a time where exploration is still the order of the day. The Alpha quadrant is still being explored, new species are still being discovered. The Beta and Gamma quadrants are the big new frontiers. The Delta Quadrant has one very hazily mapped squiggly line with a few gaps thanks to Voyager but even that small portion was chock full of New Things. The Galaxy is still divided and unknown with new stations and trade routes popping up all over the place.
Meanwhile Star Wars is old. Real old. By the time of the Clone Wars the Republic has gone through different eras. There was a golden age. It has come and gone already. Sure there are still the Unknown Regions but it is fairly fucking rare to come across a brand spanking new space-faring race or rival government. Coruscant as the heart of the Republic has not been outright attacked for a millennium by the time of the CW. The galaxy is such a hot mess of a melting pot that only the truly reserved and isolationist species are rare to see. Humans have been buggering about and propogating so much that now its impossible to tell where they actually all came from because Alderaan? Naboo? Corellia? All major human hubs, but you could say the same about dozens of other planets, and as far as anyone can tell, at least some of the near-human species are almost definitely genetically related to humans so there has clearly been enough time for some natural evolution after the space travel.
I just find it so interesting that people try to compare them when they are at fundamentally different stages of galactic development. Its like comparing the Wild West to the modern day. The galactic governmental structures and attitudes are so amazingly different and that is to the franchises' strengths.
Star Trek is about, at its most basic point, exploration.
Star Wars is about, again at its most basic, adventure.
Sounds similar? They are similar, but whereas in Star Trek the New Things are new, in Star Wars they're new to those characters, or at least new to the audience.
Kirk and Spock are exploring the unexplored.
Luke and Han and Leia are having adventures in an already clearly established society. They forging new paths in an already defined environment.
They're both also, coincidentally, fighting evil Space Fascists but that's just par for the course. I think something about space just Does That. The Void inspires assholes to go 'I can conquer those stars!' only for said stars to pull an uno reverse in the shape of a blond kid with little to no self-preservation skills but a knack for flying spaceships.
Something something space something something sci-fi.
TL:DR Star Wars and Star Trek are different on so many levels but the most interesting one is the fact they're represent galactic civilisation but at different stages. The 'fun, exploration, everything-is-new!' stage, and the 'established society including rampant corruption, unfortunately' stage.
I love 'em both.

@beegswaz genuinely i think my favorite tags on any of my work ever. i fucking love when people talk abt my characters like this
#its like blorbo from my show but with fucking minecraft and i love it deeply#for the record both Groda and White Eyes get socialized in the modern world like feral cats#both by the main players but it does happen at different times bc they all encountered Groda first when she held Rana hostage for bait#she'd kinda gone crazy after all those years of isolation lol#did that bc she thought Herobrine was the knight who betrayed her during the time period where people were wanting to overthrow her#(the knight worked for the royal family and was one of Groda's childhood friends. that did not last needless to say)#thankfully at the end of the day all 4 of the main players managed to get out alive though not unharmed with Groda in tow#when there's something trying to kill you every other day in this universe though they honestly cant be too mad about it#it doesnt help that Groda is just Really Stupid sometimes (all the time)#she's literally Peridot from SU in that she seems really intimidating but in hindsight is a massive dork#and also the fact that is the voice i imagine her having its so good#once her ability to use magic is taken away she's literally just like a scared feral street cat. does not know what the FUCK is going on#also rendering her communication with 3/4ths of the players useless since she only knows Galactic and no one alive knows that but Herobrine#(not helping the coincidental similarities to the knight but thats not him) she'll learn commonspeak later tho#ironically later down the line when Groda is spotted by the cult getting her magic back will be a key part in taking down White Eyes#she really does want to change for the better but she needed a LOT of shit kicked into her in order to start actually making the change#that being said when White Eyes eventually gets integrated it IS On Sight#she has had to been quite literally pried of Groda AT LEAST once by the others in order to keep from killing her#but other than that she'll be okay :) she picks up painting eventually#her open wounds are finally able to heal over once released from the influence of the Wither but she's still scarred unfortunately#mentally and physically!#but its only up from here... right?#actually since I talked abt the players first encounter with Groda im gonna reblog that aftermath comic again it still fucks#minecraft au mastertag

So I saw on one of the screens in the rig that you can intern as a mission control, and I have many questions. Do you supervise the interns? What do they do? Are they miners? Can I sign up? If so, where?
Well, each Mission Control gets a maximum of two interns. I hate to discount what I’m doing here, but it’s really a very easy job on a technical level. You really just watch radar, manage frequency channels, and communicate to other branches when you need Resupplies and things dropped. The difficult part is the mental strain. I don’t have to kill bugs, or pound meds to keep my PTSD to a manageable level, but I do have to listen to you all die over and over and over again. Maybe I’ll make a separate post in a bit about what that’s like, but trust me. This job takes it out of you in other ways.
If you’re still interested, I’ll submit a petition to Management on your behalf.

had Revan stayed on the planet of Veritas, and not been sent away by her father after her mother's execution, it is very likely she would have acquired the nickname of Corva, specifically in relation to the aftermath of her presence on the battlefield

You have probably heard of dark matter. It is the stuff that is supposed to be the predominant matter of the Universe, but nobody has ever managed to find any, which is a little embarrassing when there is supposed to be something like about 6 times more dark matter in the Universe than ordinary matter. Even more embarrassing is the fact that nobody has any real idea what it could be. Every time…

A dwelf and a menagerie, both members of futuristic races, adventuring together.
A dwelf is half-dwarf and half-elf. With a heritage of caverns and forests, dwelfs make fine smiths and crafters skilled in both stone and wood, capable of creating aboveground structures as marvelous as those delved by dwarves. They also make excellent trackers and rangers.
Menagerie, common in the distant future, have recent relatives of at least four different races. Menagerie are as different as they are similar; they may sport tiefling horns, elvish pointed ears, dragonborn scales, or all three. A rare few inherit both bodily and magical strength, leading them to pursue great destinies as kings, warriors, and heroes.

You may be aware that Satine is the only character to speak mando'a on screen in tcw, but let's get even nerdier! Written mando'a. There's not a lot of background writing and very little that's legible, but there is some. Now first of all for identification purposes, this is the mando'a script:
Tumblr media
And this is the aurabesh (galactic standard) script:
Tumblr media
Most of the background writing is blurry and tiny, but aurabesh is noticeably blockier, which helps. Here are a few from a single episode, Corruption:

nice car art, satine
is that some sort of periodic table?
I like the detail of the writing on the imported bottle being a different script.
Tumblr media
Can't believe I almost forgot the mando'a touchpad.
I also sampled The Academy but I'm about to hit image limit on this post so.
yes this was brought on by me back-clicking out of another jangobi fic that went on an unpromted character-bashing tangent about Satine and mando'a and as you all know I am a petty nerd.

I really can't remember everything from the 1986 movie or G1 S3, but... I don't really remember Rodimus talking much about his life prior to becoming the Prime. If we're taking lore SOLELY from the show and movie, given how often G1 just had the Autobots or Decepticons just Build New Guys, I don't think it's too unreasonable for some casual (or forgetful, idk) fan to assume that Hot Rod was built on Earth in the time skip period between S2 and the movie. You could totally do an AU interpretation where Rodimus and Daniel are the same age or close to it.
Some Autobot back on Cybertron: "When was this new Prime constructed? I don't recall meeting him before."
Rodimus: "I'm ten."
Some Autobot: "Ten what? Ten million? You wear your years extremely well, then. You can't possibly be only ten thousand, that's much too young for a Prime-"
Rodimus: "Just ten years old, buddy."
Some Autobot: "..."
Rodimus: "And trust me, every single one of them has sucked ass enough for a million. Are we doing these super important galactic politics today or what?"
Some Autobot: "I have energon stones in my filtration tanks that are older than you."
Rodimus: "Yeah, and I have to go beat the shit out of some Quintessons with my bare hands later, AND I still need to squeeze my daily crisis of depression, guilt, and self-loathing in somewhere because Ultra Magnus says I'm not allowed to put it on the official schedule anymore. Are we having this meeting or not? I'm a busy guy."

Username: Hugh Mann
Question: Human enrichment.
Hello fellow humans. I am also a human who has recently acquired new human friends through legitimate means that do not need to be reported to the galactic planetary authorities.
My new human friends and I are having fun travelling in my ship vehicle across the galaxy world. They enjoy their enclosure rooms own areas of the vehicle but are also given the ability to move about the ship vehicle as they like now the quarantine is complete.
However the journey between systems cities can be quite long in some places even at hyperspeeds using highways, and my human friends can become quite frustrated being stuck within the confines of the ship vehicle for these lengths of time.
They call it boredom which I am told I know is a perfectly normal human reaction to a lack of stimulation.
What nice and normal human enrichment activities can you suggest that I and my fellow humans can engage in for their our collective mental health and wellbeing?
Preferable activities which can keep them busy for long periods of time.
Please hurry. They are growing curious to see how the engines work.

As an addendum to this post, I just wanted to share this other gem from the Revenge of the Sith script :D
Tumblr media
Like, forget that Anakin gets to pull a Reverse Uno card on Obi-Wan's sass from Episode II...
Tumblr media
... look at how it's written!
"Only in your mind *PERIOD* My Master."
Anakin fucking pauses for better effect before unleashing THE most sarcastic "My Master" in galactic history!
He's taking the time to savor his revenge and because this little shit knows Obi's not his Master anymore and he knows Obi will be triggered and will instantly remind him of that and he does it anyway.
I mean if it were shown on screen it'd be like:
