Rules

No NSFW Questions.

Try to keep the questions tied to Deltarune and Digimon. Asking other fandom questions have to be portrayed as it's a game, book, movie, or TV show to them.

Strongest Royal_knights (Digimon)

(info) this is me ranking he Royal_knights from strongest to weakest. If you have a opinion on this list pls type it in the comment below or something? Remember this is my personal opinion I'll add some extra facts in the bottom.

1. Alphamon

Of course the leader of the royal knights is the strongest, his alpha enforcer is beyond broken and fucking OP to the point of bullshit. He's also one of the royal knights who has the most experience out of Everyone in the gang/group.

2. Examon

Size doesn't matter but in this case it dose for example in cyber_sleth Examon was basically the size of Ghidorah or Destroyah(Godzilla) and in that same game he was weakened due to the eater literally eating his body away but still won the fight against Omegamon/Omnimon, Gallentmon/Dukemon, Magnumon, Jesmom and UlforceVeedramon. He was even stated to have more strength then Alphamon.

3. Omegamon/Omnimon

Welp you should have expected this honestly. Omni/Omegamon is the second in command of the royal_knights and one of the strongest. Example during the X-evolution movie he was fucking with everyone in the film most notably his all delete is basically OP as shit since his profile says "the all delete attack Is a attack where if the opponent is so much as hit from the sword they will be erased from existence", plus his Omega_Enforcer is just as broken since it allows him to basically see the future and react accordingly in other words he knows when, what and how your gonna do something before you even do it. Plus it is continuously stated that the RK(Royal_knights) Omnimon is stronger than the adventure/Tri version who is extremely strong since that version massacred a entire world full of diabormon and fought on power with both Alphamon and jesmom. Side note he can also reality_warp so yeah. (Also bandi keep nerfing him In most media for some stupid Reason).

4. Ulforce-Veedramon

This is the fastest/one of the strongest member of the team(stated by Omnimon/Omegamon himself) for a couple reasons like having a ability that lets him heal faster then 1&0 attacks (basically he can heal faster then one hit kill moves) and His body is made from the lightest metal Blue-digizoid which is extremely rare. Also he can hold his own against guys who can Destroy whole mulitverse with no effort.

5. Jesmon

Basically this is Digimon equivalent of jesus. Jesmom is extremely strong since his power are unbounded by the laws of the digital world he was cable of matching Alphamon and Omnimon/Omegamon In a fight almost gain the upper hand. He was trained by one of the Gankoomon who is pretty strong himself. Plus his rookie form beat a mega and his ability AU/OS-Generics make his power unbounded by nature.

6. Dukemon/Gallentmon

This is one of the most iconic Digimon member of the team since it came from one of the best season of the show(Tamers). The reason Dukemon/Gallentmon is here because he beat one of the seven demon-lords(Beelzemon), destroyed Shadow_Seraphimon(an excel version on the great angel Seraphimon, beat lots of malomyotismon, held off Omnimon/Omegamon for a period of time and managed to easily injure Seleipmon/kentaurosmon. Also he has his form called the crimson-mode which can reset the universe.

7. Magnumon

This guy's is the one of the more somewhat balanced members as he's basically made from golden armour/super-chrome digizoid and has the power to match dynasmon despite being a ultimate/champion level Digimon. His only crazy feat is miracle manipulation in which he can grant anytype of miracle he wants.

8.Dynasmon

This guy's Is no joke since he is known for having the most destructive attacks of the group. He dragon attacks can break time and space along with the fact his final attack Wyvern's_Breath is said to have the power core of a star/sun. Hell when he was charging up his attacks the other Royal_knights moved out of his facility to avoid getting destroyed.

9. Seleipmon/kentaurosmon

Ok now where on the second fastest Digimon in the group. He has 4/6 legs that it uses to attack. He also shot hell fire and he was able to freeze Gallentmon/Dukemon who couldn't break out of it.

10. Craniamon

Apart from the fact this guy solo the Digimon saver/data squd cast twice is all ready impressive. He can also move faster then light since his profile says " he moves so fast the opponent doesn't see his attack hit them and are all ready dead" can also cut his opponent so fast they turn into dust.

11.gankomon

This Is jesmon teacher and Father figure Gankoomon. He is mostly the most dank Alpha-male at of all the royal knights especially with his spirit who is said to be unbeatable.

12.leopardmon

This is the main tactician who cordonates with the knight and is one of the closest to Yggdrasil itself. He can also deliver 10000 strikes per second. Is

13. Roseknightmon/Lord_knightmon/Crusademon

This Is the most sexyal out of all the knights and most famous in the digital_world. He also controls a army of knightmons

So while I was working on my… analysis I suppose, on why Digimon Adventure: does not work as a show, it occurred to me that despite claims that Taichi in Adventure: is inspired by V-Tamer Taichi, his partner is an Agumon whose final evolution is Omegamon, and why that doesn’t work. But I realized that it is a point that I could expand on, and so I have separated it out here. Consider it a preview.

The protagonists of Digimon V-Tamer are Yagami Taichi and his partner Zero, a Veedramon. The story is carried by these two alone. While others help and hinder them on their way, their mission is theirs, and the responsibility of defeating Daemon belongs to no one else. It is with that power that they reach their highest form, UlforceVeedramon Future Mode While Taichi is the main protagonist, Zero is just as much a protagonist. Their names, even reference binary. While there are other characters who impact the plot, the role of protagonist belongs to these two. 

This is echoed in the themes of Digimon Adventure:, the digivice in the title supposedly representing the bonds between human and digimon. And, while I don’t think it particularly succeeds, I can see clear attempts to be made to make the digimon partners their own characters, equals to their human partners. 

But yet, Digimon Adventure: uses Omegamon as Taichi and Agumon’s final evolution. And that is a bit of a problem. Digimon Partners are not interchangeable. Well, okay, the species are a bit arbitrary, all things considered, (after all, Zero’s rookie form is also Agumon) but the problem is what UlforceVeedramon represents vs. Omegamon. 

In Digimon Adventure, Omegamon is not Taichi’s power alone. Not by a long shot. Taichi is not the solo human protagonist of Digimon Adventure. Even in the first film, before Hikari was even meant to play a key role in the series, she shared the series debut. Regardless, the burden of defeating Apocalymon is not his alone to bear. And Agumon’s evolutions reflect that. WarGreymon is reached through borrowing Hikari’s power. Omegamon is literally formed by WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon (who was formed by borrowing Takeru’s power), but in reality is born from the power of hundreds of people reaching out from across the world. And perhaps even Taichi’s crest of Courage is not something that belongs to him alone. As Yamato puts it, “It’s everyone's Friendship”. Though Taichi best embodies courage, the courage he wields is not his alone. Even tri. which I usually avoid using as an example, has Omegamon Merciful Mode, which very explicitly draws from the other children’s partners. Adventure’s Taichi’s not strong because he himself is powerful. Really compared to Hikari he seems rather unimpressive on his own. He’s strong because he is able to easily act as a receiver to others powers, a trait that is fitting for a leader. Because that’s what sets Adventure Taichi apart from his peers, he’s a leader.

Note, that I didn’t really bring up the partners in regards to the discussion of Adventure, not that they aren’t important, but that they aren’t a driving factor. Digimon partners are something vastly different in Digimon Adventure. They are reflections of the children’s inner selves. For straightforward characters, like Taichi, his partner Agumon is very much like him, and for characters like Sora, Piyomon seems very different. This isn’t to say that the digimon are simply their partners, Tailmon went through quite a bit on her own. But nevertheless, Tailmon is the way she is, because Hikari is the way she is. 

Digimon Partners and their evolutions are not things that are just assigned, and given. They are things that arise from the circumstances. Omegamon is there because the themes and circumstances make Omegamon the most appropriate "Ultra”. This is true both in and out of universe, who can forget SkullGreymon? SkullGreymon isn’t wrong. It’s just not the evolution that fits Taichi and Agumon’s situation.

And here’s the thing. Digimon has done the whole focus on “Bonds with Partner’s” before. That’s Tamers. And in Tamers, the final evolution was born from a human and a digimon literally coming together as one. The final episodes all appear somewhat humanoid as a result, particularly notable from WarGrowmon to Gallentmon. Because that was what evolutions were needed narratively and thematically. Otherwise, we have Megidramon. And guess what, the Adventure timeline also has a movie in which the focus is on the bonds between human and friendship, and lo and behold. In Digimon Adventure Kizuna, Agumon (Bond of Courage) and Gabumon (Bond of Friendship) were born. Born from the bond between human and digimon. They even use the “looking like humans” idea from Tamers.

Interestingly, Kizuna came right before Digimon Adventure: started. 

Now, I am really advocating for the Bond forms to be used in Adventure:, those forms were something special to that timeline. But that’s just the thing. Many evolutions, whether unique digimon or not, are brought about by circumstances unique to that timeline. Look at 02’s usage of Armor levels, Frontier's Hybrids, and Xros Wars' Xros mechanic. It’s not new for later seasons to take these Digimon that have existed in these specific circumstances and use them generically later. It would, after all, be a shame to put all those good designs to waste. But at the very least, the evolutions of the main cast are carefully chosen, created if need be, to fit the show.

And that creates a problem for Adventure: as a reboot. It is pulling from the evolutionary lines of its predecessor, despite aiming for different themes and using an entirely different world and characters, and in the process the meaning behind the evolutions has been stripped out. While it has been able to throw in additional evolutions, most of those are well within the confines of precedent: Armors and Ultimate’s that are already related to these evolutionary lines. Adventure: is trying to be a show that, as a reboot of Adventure, it cannot be. Adventure: spends so much of its time screaming that it is not the original Adventure, while simultaneously dragging in call backs that it loses any sense of identity.

The enemies they fight are not Taichi’s responsibility alone. These kids have to have crests. Agumon must evolve into Omegamon.  Angemon still has to die, HolyAngemon and Angemon have to mean something. Tailmon has to be Adult, and has to have been evil. Hikari and Takeru have to give their brother’s power. Omegamon still has to appear. . They still go to summer camp, and Taichi still fights Parrotmon. 

Note, that this is far from Adventure:’s only problem, however I do think it illustrates a large problem that affects the way certain elements and characters are used in this show. Taichi is a solo protagonist, but his “Ultra” is still Omegamon born of Yamato, Takeru and HIkari’s influence. Mimi is now a bossy rich girl, but her crest is still Purity. Yamato is a loner who doesn’t overly concern himself with others, but he’s still Friendship, and still Takeru’s semi-estranged younger brother. 

When Adventure: manages to work a new angle into the old mold, it works well. Yamato’s focus on his friendship with Gabumon works well, and various side characters work alright. Resolving the conflict over Tailmon’s Ultimates by using both for separate things and bringing in Goddramon is a great idea. But more often than not, it doesn’t. Properly contextualizing what a holy digimon is is great, but Angemon’s death is awkward, and Pegususmon’s presence smooths over the issues of Tailmon being champion and keeping Angemon special in an awkward way, refusing to address what an Armor is. Because they are trying to write a story around a set of evolutions they are required to have while absolutely refusing to be Adventure where it matters. Leading to the awkward mesh of Adventure elements and characters, with themes and stories that they were never meant for. 

If Adventure: was meant to be about the bond between Taichi and Agumon, Omegamon was never going to work, including the concepts of crests, was going to muddle things at the very least, and including 7 whole other partner pairs who are going to require at least a few episodes of focus a piece was not going to work out. It’s not that we couldn’t have had more focus on Taichi and Agumon within a reboot and their bond, or that the idea of Taichi and Agumon (or any other pair), activating an evolution because they are in agreement on a concept isn’t a good idea. Just an understanding that this primary focus wasn’t going to work because Adventure in its very concept has a lot of characters that need some degree of focus. Savers with its heavier Masaru focus and use of shonen tropes, dials back the number of “main” characters to half that of Adventure, because it is built around its premise. That unless they were going to be bumped down to secondary, recurring characters, this was never going to work, because that’s not how Adventure’s concept was intended. To tell a new story, it needed to have dropped a few more of Adventure’s elements. But to do that would be to essentially admit that this isn’t Adventure at all. Adventure: needed to have evaluated what story it could tell with what elements it was required to include.

Anything goes in Digimon, and Adventure: seems to want to make the most of this, using armors, Hybrids and Xros Wars digimon with regularity. But you can’t build a cohesive narrative simply by plucking your favorite ingredients and sticking it in a pot. Some things just don’t go together. You can’t take the ingredients to make bread and make a salad. But in short, V-Tamer Taichi and Adventure Taichi aren’t interchangeable. They are two different characters because they are designed for two different stories, and their partners reflect this. Adventure: was doomed from the start if it didn’t realize this.

To demonstrate how powerful crimson mode is, you know the horn striker agent? The one that required megagargomon, sakuyamon, justimon, gaurdromon, and antylamon to take down? Gallentmon manages to take down several of them by himself

Jeri has suffered the most because of the chain of events caused by others, one that she did nothing to contribute to. But jeri was wrong about herself; not only is she not to blame for all the bad thing that are happening, but her own actions actually helped to prevent the worlds destruction, first by sparing beelzemon, and them by breaking free. It was her own agency that broke the chain

Jeri wills her digivice to life, and turns to power the d-reaper has been stealing from her back on it, blasting the abominations brain in

And then the kernel starts flossing with chaos. Guess you can’t win em all

What’s worse is that justimon innuendo attack didn’t kill the cable reaper. But it did weaken it enough that the sovereign can pull back under

The image of the j-reapers face appears in Jeri’s eye. I’m afraid that, even after the series, she’ll never be fully free of it…

(My headcanon is that jeri is half d-reaper now)

Oh and now we see the j-reapers final form, and it gives gallentmon a major whooping

Jeri has finally, finally been freed from that awful place, and this is the first time most of her friends have seen her in a while. It’s the first time in quite a while that she’s been truly happy

Oh yeah and kazu, kenta, gaurdromon, marineangemon, and lopmon arrive. I would ask why marineangemon bubbles weren’t used more often, but maybe the d-reaper had just gotten too strong at that point

“Everyone’s all together…” or not

You know its a bit of karmic justice, with how much the d-reaper mocked jeri for her fear of loneliness, it’s the one who’s going to end up all alone

Also, it’s own defeat only happened because it shot itself in its non existent foot twice. Yamaki was right, the d-reaper does have more in common with us then we think. And that includes our flaws

Impmon shows and up and, in the most sincere, humble tone, ask jeri if can forgive him. To his utter disbelief, she does. I’m not sure any of the other tamers would have done so if they were in Jeri’s shoes, but that makes her special

Impmon may have not succeed in saving jeri, but his efforts were still recognized. And that was what is important. Honestly he’s earned his forgiveness

And the side effect of operation doodle bug kicks in, force the digimon back into the digital world. Because god doesn’t want us to have nice things.

Henry shaking his head is a lot less harsh in the original, where janyu ask if he hates him for all he’s done, and Henry states that he doesn’t. In the dub, he tells Henry that things will get better, to which Henry states that they won’t. Because fuck you

The somber piano music that plays in the dub really adds to that feeling of loss. Even if everything has gone back to normal, nothing feels right anymore

“Even though I thought I’d never be the same, the world soon went back to normal, and after a while, so did I. Life became exactly what it was before I met guilmon; kazu still made bad jokes and ms. Asaji still gave too much homework. Sometime I go back to our old hideout just to see if he’s there, don’t know why I bother because he never is. Most times I’m okay, but there’s this one thing that bugs me. A promise I made to a friend. A promise i don’t think I can keep… actually, scratch that. I think I’m gonna keep that promise after all.”

Ending on a literal light at the end of the tunnel, the story of digimon tamers comes to a close.

Or we could just ignore that hopeful ending and act like the tamers only reunite after 20 years. What I’m saying is watch runaway locomon

You know, a lot of fans peg digimon tamers as the darkTM and edgyTM series, and use that as a mark against the show. But I don’t agree with that sentiment. For all its darkness, it still has a sense of childlike innocence that makes it stand out from say, tri. It’s a bit like kirby in the sense that it starts out cute and innocent, but ends dark and depressing, but still show that the darkness can be over come with friendship and courage

In the dub, Jeri’s father tells her that a part of her will always be with us. In the original, he’s talking to himself(ignoring his daughter, which is par for course) saying that her death was inevitable

The original also had no music during this scene, except for the sound of a heartbeat

I think the reason this scene is so disturbing is not because of the scene itself, but the context surrounding it: jeri has been forced to relive her worst memories(that have been warped into nightmarish fever dreams) by the eldritch horror for days on end

Seriously, jeri was treated so unfairly in tamer(not from a writing standpoint, but in-universe) tamers makes a point to show how the actions of adults lead to their children suffering, and nowhere is that more apparent then with jeri. The chain of events that led to this moment was caused by the actions of characters-shibumi unwittingly awakening the d-reaper, Hypnos letting the devas in, Zhuqiaomon sending the devas to steal calumon, beelzemon killing leomon, and even takato unleashing megidramon- and Jeri has been forced to carry the collective pain of that chain

The worst part is that jeri has done NOTHING WRONG. She’s a completely innocent life, and is still made to suffer because of the actions of others

Jeri just…doesn’t deserve this. Save her

Also the dream is intercut with the d-reaper growing, showing that it’s feeding off her misery…

So the tamers and their families have all decided to move into Hypnos new headquarters

Daisy has managed to rebuild the arc and give it battle equipment, while also naming it grani

On a more serious note, how the hell did yamaki break the news to Jeri’s family that the persons that came back on the arc wasn’t their daughter…or even a person

“No you’ll hurt her” “huh” “what if Jeri’s in there, you’ll hurt her” god bless you takato, all you want is jeri to make it out of this in one piece

And he immediately goes to tell Jeri’s dad not to be mad at her

And we have Rumiko and Jeri’s step-mother talking about how hard it is to be a good mother. This is especially relevant in the formers case, seeing as how she wanted to be a good mother for jeri…she was just completely out of touch with what her daughter wants or needs

It could be argued that Jeri’s stem-mom is too passive, do to her just letting jeri take her fathers punishment despite her objections

Rika herself contemplates just how blind to Jeri’s own problems. I can’t help but wonder if she thinks she deserve Jeri’s fate more, given how she acted at the beginning. Leomon only died because he tried to save renamon

Plus that’s another thing. Not once does rikas father ever show up or even try to contact his daughter, despite her fighting a war. Assuming he’s still alive(which is what rika states) does he just…not care?

And now Jeri’s dad attempts to ram a van into the eldritch horror, attempts to fight one of its agents himself, and demands to be taken in Jeri’s place. It dosent make up for how he’s treated her in the past, but it’s still an effort

“Now I see the consequences of my actions” yes you were a shitty dad and now your daughters been assimilated by a monster, I hope you’ve learned your lesson

And now we see the freakiest agent(barring the j-reaper) paratice head. I cant be the only one who sees similarities between it and siren head right?

It can also produce cameras which i headcann is how it sees m(I also headcanon that it uses echolocation)

Paratice head seems to be repeating Jeri’s thoughts on destiny, but doesn’t seem to understand what it means(or maybe it’s still trying to fuck with the tamers)

It falters on the term father do to lacking one(outside of the skunks in Silicon Valley that created it) again, it could be repeating Jeri’s emotions to fuck with her friends

Seriously, nobody thinks of how messed up it is that the big bad as a little girls voice. The voice of one of the main protagonist that it had stolen no less

I’m surprised jeri can even stomach hearing herself speak after all of this is said and done, as instead of hearing a voice that’s distinctly hers, all she hears is that thing that nearly destroyed the world

So the d-reaper is projecting images of the battle into the kernel, possibly as a way to torment jeri further

Shibumi suggest the d-reapers want to learn more about familial ties because it’s scared of the unknown, but I think it’s just trying to find out how much pain it can inflict using them

And now it’s showing jeri that her friends are getting they’re asses handed to them by the agent. No doubt it’s trying to gaslight her into thinking that it’s her fault they’re getting hurt(not that she doesn’t already believe that, but the d-reaper is just rubbing salt in the wounds)

A lot of the d-reapers actions become a lot more insidious upon rewatch

“Lonely is my destiny” no don’t say that(on a side note, jeri tenses up upon hearing that word, as she’s starting to become more lucid)

And the agent still repeats what she, almost as a way saying “this is what she has to endure. Every moment you waste is one where jeri suffers)

They finally manage to get that thing to shut up… and it’s replaced by the biggest agent yet, the optimizer. A powerful dragon like agent that can produce bubbles from itself

The good new is that grani has fully bio-emerged, and latches onto to gallentmons power to become comple(even gaining a red and gold color scheme)

Jeri hears takato’s name(probably via his psychic powers) once again starting to break free of her trance

Terriormon:”I’m totally fine guys” he is certainly not fine

“We’re ready to fight guys!” Jeri:whimpers

“You never really wanted to fight in the first place, did you jeri?” All she ever wanted was to have someone love her, and now that person is gone forever

“Why don’t you wait here and when we come back we can all go home” “all of us? Except for leomon you mean.” “Jeri…” “he’s never coming back is he?”

I can not understate how much jeri has already sunken in her depression. Everything seems so trivial now. It’s like…the rest of the world doesn’t exist anymore…

Jesus Christ, Henry! I know you stressed out about protecting her, but did really have to fucking push her? I mean, hasn’t she been traumatized enough without her big brother snapping at her?!

Kazu and kenta are standing up to watch over jeri and Suzie. Good for them

At least Henry immediately try’s to comfort Suzie, not that it helps

So it’s time we talk about the big xenophobic Phoenix himself. Zhuqiaomon serves as a counterpart to yamaki; they both want to protect their respective kinds, and are willing to destroy the other to do so

“Oh leomon, you’d still be alive if it weren’t for me” no jeri, it’s not your fault

Jeri must be looking at her digivice thinking to herself: it’s dead because of me. Just like leomon. Just like mom. Just like I will be…

Give rapidmon some credit, he tanked several of Zhuqiaomons attacks, despite clearly having been beaten up during the beelzemon fight

So in the previous, episode Zhuqiaomon sent catsuramon to kill lopmon, but now he wants her to rejoin her side. Maybe it’s because he’s all he has left of his children

I don’t think people realize just how much lopmon’s world has been turned upside down in the past several hours. She’s been dedigivolved, realized her entire ideology was wrong, and had her own sibling and father try to kill her. All because she befriended a human

Gave me a heart attack when Suzie’s digivice showed static, I thought lopmon had been killed. I do not want another depressed girl

“You sure that’s safe?” “No” “okay”

Suzie: “I must go, my people need me” ascends

Henry breaking down on how he pushed terriormon too far, and terriormon telling him he isn’t the only one who’s trying to save everyone

Like gallentmon being symbolic of takato becoming a become of hope in times of despair, megagargomon’s bio-merge is symbolic of Henry’s fully being able to trust terriormon. As such it incorporates both Henry’s martial arts and terriormons endless supply of guns

I’m pretty sure megagargomons attack is what broke calumons prison

“This is an abomination!” This “abomination” is about to kick your Roast chicken ass Zhuqiaomon!

Plus megagargomon isn’t even close to being an abomination, that will comeing shortly…”

Digimon tamers retrospective- Episode 36

Up to this point, the fight with beelzemon has been a hopeless battle. Gallentmon, a literal night in shining armor, represents takato and guilmon’s desire to be a light of hope in the tamers time of need(cough adventure reference cough)

And he is, being the first digimon that can stand up to beelzemon

Oh yeah and the dub gives gallentmon a mix of takato’s and guilmons voices

It’s kenta of all people who realizes takato’s missing, and the truth of bio-merging

“I’m supposed to be protecting you, but I failed” “your job is rest now, you haven’t failed anything” come on mom, you’ve done enough

“I can’t believe your gone, it’s my fault, I wasn’t strong enough to be your tamer. Oh leomon I’m so sorry” Bridget Hoffman does an excellent job at portraying Jeri’s despair in these episodes

It also her that we see(for lack of a better word) scapegoat syndrome in play. Jeri will actively blame herself for anything that goes wrong, regardless of how much responsibility she actually has(or even if anyone else blames her for it)

“Where are you? Coward!” Says the jackass trying to kill children

Bye bye behemoth

Zhuqiaomon:”hey beelzemons going to get killed by gallentmon, so why dont you kill your sibling while he’s distracted”

Catsuramon:”sure I’ll kill dad”

“Innocent? A human trespassing into the land of the sovereign is unforgivable!” Now hiring a hit man to kill literal children, that’s fine

Fitting that catsuramon is absorbed by the same monster he’s created. Live by the blade, dye by the blade

Henry tells Suzie to get away from lopmon, but she show him her digivice, proof of the bond they share

“If he does to gaurdromon what he did to leomon I’ll never forgive myself” kazu has known gaurdromon for less time than Jeri’s known leomon. Fucking Ouch

These three episodes have really pulled the break the comedian on kazu and kenta. Two goofy balls are now reduced to scared wimpering children

Fortunately, Gaurdromon manages to distract beelzemon long enough for gallentmon to gain the upper hand again

And now gallentmon has beelzemon completely at his mercy. All he needs to do is impale him with his lance and be done with the demon lord once and for all. And yet…

“STOP IT”

“Jeri why?” “He’s not worth it takato” “what are you saying? He deserves this, you know that!”

“Please don’t do it, I could’nt bare it if anyone else got hurt.please””jeri…” “please…” “I’m sorry jeri”

“I don’t get it…why are you protecting me? I destroy you partner” “I hate you, for doing that…but even if you died it would bring leomon back. It’s my fault he’s gone, and if you destroyed each other then that will be my fault to. I just can’t let…anyone else get hurt… because of me”

THIS. FUCKING. SCENE.

The way jeri struggles to admit that she hates beelzemon, how she blames herself for everything that’s happened, how she collapses on the ground afterwards…it’s…it’s to fucking much…

Meanwhile, all beelzemon can do is muse on how everything he’s done has been for nothing. In the end, his new found power never gave him any happiness…it just spread his misery to others

The dub play no music while beelzemon walks off. Powerful

The digi-gnomes are all like”since you’ve won, here’s a new golden digivice”

“Sucks about your crushes partner though, we’re sure nothing more bad will happen to her”

Here we are folks; this is the shows darkest hour

Beelzemon is literally dying and all he can think about is how he failed jeri. Hell, beelzemons last breath is used to tell the others to save her

And ai and mako are watching, proveing your never too young to experience trauma

Notably, Jeri’s fear of beelzemon has been replaced by a fear for beelzemon. She spared his life before because she’d thought she’d be responsible for his death if she didn’t, and now because of her inaction, he’s going to die anyway.It seems that no matter what she does, she’s destined to hurt people

“No that’s not true!” Tell her calumon

A little over ten episodes of beelzemon was trying to kill them. Now everyone morns his supposed death. And I’m sitting here like

Fortunately, grani managed to save impmon just in time, proving once again that they’re too good for this sinful earth

Unfortunately, impmon has been beaten to the point that he’s out of the fight for the rest of the show(mostly so they can shove ryo down our throats some more)

And of course the tamers are forced to pull back because of the military. Who unleash a weapon that doesn’t even work(don’t make me play the MS3K clip again)

Oh look it’s the monster makers friend in America, Johnny

“I hate this I hate this I hate this just let me out!” The viewers at the writers for subjecting jeri to this

Of course now that jeri has been freed from her trance, the d-reaper changes it’s tactics, from keeping her in a sedated state while mentally tormenting the girl, to ramping up its abuse giving her the full brunt of both physical and psychological torture

“It’s curious why emotions ever evolved; such an obstruction to logic, an evolutionary step backwards. What you call compassion can only bond you to others who can make you weak” “stop it! Stop talking in my voice!”

On top of everything else that happen today, the d-reaper is mocking jeri with her own voice. Using the same agent it had replaced her with

Also the J-reaper reacts in pain to being assimilated into the mother reaper. Maybe it was mimicking Jeri’s strong emotions(not that it matters, since it’s shown to be better than before not moments later)

“Even when I’m hurting it I’m helping it. What if I just I just got the whole world erased?” No jeri, doubt listen to that gaslighting jello

”all of this is my fault, the world will b better of without me..”

I’m anyone reading thinks like that, I assure that’s not true. The world won’t better off with you gone

“Jeri you have to stop! The d-reaper will keep feeding on you until your all gobbled up!”

Gallentmon can even hear Jeri’s screams. But he’s helpless to do anything…

“It is too late for your friends to help you jeri. I now have the engergy to evolve even further”

Not to get all Steven universe, but the bio-merging symbolizes not onl the tamers growth as people, but the love they share with their partner. The d-reaper on the other hand is a parasitic entitiy, harming its “tamer” jeri while it feeds on her sadness to fuel its own evolution. The “love” it gives her is toxic, possessive, and suffocating. And it’s determined to have Jeri all to itself

(Dark headcanon, but since they’re bio-merged, does that mean jeri can feel it every time an agent is destroyed)

It’s something of a jackass genie scenario too; jeri wished to never be alone, and now she never will be…

Christ it’s hard to talk about how actively sadistic the d-reaper is

So the one week time skip jumps around a lot. Here’s what I think the timeline of events is

After the mother reaper forms: the team is forced to split, ai and mako take impmon home, jeri and calumon discuss their current predicament

1 day later: takato family arrive at their beach side house

7 days later: the monster makers discover the d-reapers plan and begin working on operation doodlebug

9 later: renamon gets misgendered, Kai meets Takato, calumon gets attacked, the d-reaper unifies it’s offshoots,Henry United the tamers for the final assault on the d-reaper

With that said, jeri has been trapped in the bad orb for about 2 weeks. I presume the d-reaper has been pumping in nutrients into her body to sustain her, but again, this is digimon. Let’s not question the science

“I feel like such a coward” why because your letting jeri suffer in that thing for over a week? Just kidding, you’re doing your best takato

Oh yeah, Kai from battle of adventure shows up. And I guess he was the narrator all along

Putting aside the obvious”digimon aren’t divided into genders” bit, you can’t tell me that Rumiko isn’t hitting on renamon right now? Rika’s would have gotten two moms if it weren’t for…

“But I can’t stop thinking about jeri…” I went from disliking rika at the start of the series to adoring her by the end. Good job konaka, good job

We now see that the kernel has expanded, and it’s interior is now a chamber of tentacles

“This isn’t your fault you know, it’s the d-reaper” me at literal anyone who tries to demonize jeri

“But it picked me didn’t it” yes, it took advantage of your weak emotional state, which isn’t your fault in the slightest

With the way jeri victim blames herself, and how she thinks she dosent deserve the friends she has is utterly heartbreaking. She truly believes this is her destiny, to help end to world and be alone forever

Growing up, I was afraid of the d-reaper (who wouldn’t be)Rewatching the series as an adult, I’m more filled with hatred towards the abomination for how fucking abusive it is towards jeri

Also I headcanon that jeri would slip in and out of the d-reaper induced trance, but calumon always manages to bring her back. Not that her being lucid is any better

So the d-reapers realizes that while it can’t absorb organic life(save for jeri, who was absorbed in the digital world) it can super heat the planet and flood the globe, then fry the oceans. To this end it’s going to shoot out beams at its offshoots once their fully grown to link them with the main d-reaper in shinjuku. This will give it enough power to create a large enough juggernaut portal so it can merge with its counterpart in the digital world

Perhaps I should talk about the d-reapers psychology. It’s spilt into multiple entities, each representing and aspect of it. The mother reaper represents the brain, being able to create a network of agents and formulate this plan. The cable reaper represents its primal instincts, which contains its raw power. With jeri herself being the d-reapers heart, being the emotional core that unlocks it’s true potential and allows it to evolve further

Fortunately, the d-reaper has left itself Wide open with this plan, which the monster makers intend to exploit with operation doodle bug

Janyu is totally just scanning terriormon and not putting anything in him…

I’m afraid I will have to put a content warning because of this next scene

Jeri attempts to commit suicide, believe that the world wouldn’t be in danger if it wasn’t for her

(Of course her death wouldn’t change anything, and the d-reaper would just stop her from dying in the first place)

Fortunately calumon stop her

“Don’t listen to that rag!! Don’t you know how lucky you are?! Everyone loves to see you smiling jeri. takato, guilmon, epically ne. It’s true”

This is the point where jeri realizes how blind she’s been, and finally opens up to calumon, after episodes of shutting herself in

At this point, the d-reaper hasn’t considered calumon a threat, seeing as how it has jeri wrapped around its slimy tentacles(both figuratively and literally) but now it’s decided that the carbuncle is more trouble than it’s worth. Unfortunately for it, jeri isn’t having any of it…

Shibumi has created a red card that will allow the tamers to enter the d-reaper zone without getting weekend, and also creates a sphere field for the tamers to regroup in

Takato here’s her cry for help thanks to his shining, and decides to go off to recuse her
