AU where Danny is a stressed college student student aerospace engineering and is caught up in a fear gas attack, but since he's half ghost his biology is slightly fucked up when it comes to drugs and chemicals so it does the exact opposite and he's now as high as a kite while everyone is screaming in fear.

Meanwhile Scarecrow is curious about the young man who started giggling when he inhaled the fear gas and slips a little note into the man's pocket before dipping and the bats show up.

Cue Danny ending as the- actually paid- tester for Dr. Crane's new and other improved gasses which are actually good for him and awful for others. Like one guy is sent into hysterics as everything just hits him all at once, the air being audible, that one flickering light being ear shattering. Meanwhile Danny has just pulled out his notebook for his aerospace engineering class and started writing down new ideas with this sudden hyperfocus that seems chill to him.

This eventually leads to the bats finding out while Danny's just being given vapes filled with that overwhelming gas so that he can actually focus on his exam studying without getting distracted.

(Scarecrow is probably in the giddy stage of a new test subject that has positive feedback for his work. Mans had a contract written up and prescriptions made for Danny to use the gasses legally for himself.)

Jack, Amy and Spencer are Derse dreamers. The dark moon is always for the types of people who are more blunt and straightforward who work more with their heads, usually it's the moon for people who are more... aloof, private, controlled? Derse is always the sway of getting shit done, they aren't here for games and silly fun they are here to win. Amy and Spencer both have a very lets get shit done attitudes. Jack while not super active he's got a knack for collecting, and categorizing data and figuring out puzzles and getting solutions... as messy as his problem solving can be. They are also all stubborn AF and don't back down from fights but know how to choose their battles better.

Jerry, Rosa and Sabine are the Prospit dreamers. They get the bright moon which is just as sunny as their personalities. Of course Sabine being a Space player would let her be on Prospit to be close to Skaia plus shes always very calm and kind and is extremely patient waiting for others. Shes more focused on making sure people are emotionally and mentally alright. Rosa and Jerry are same kinda deal, they are much more emotional and wear their hearts on their sleeves. They can both get shit done sure but they are less independent and do things better when they are in a more community setting working as a team. They are catalysts sure- ESPECIALLY Jerry but their energy is more in tune with the emotional side of things which makes them lean more Prospit.

Also have to note Jack not "sleeping" in this case is both problematic for him but super interesting. For people who have NO CLUE why thats an issue its because during a game of SBURB when your active body falls asleep your dream self wakes up and half of the game is navigating the politics between Derse and Prospit and the DERSITES especially (looking at Spades Slick/Jack Noir) CAN and WILL try to kill the players to get an upper hand during the reckoning. If you never wake up your dream self is more at risk of being spawn killed which also prevents you from ever reaching Godtier. Why? Because when someone dies on their quest bed to get resurrected its their dream self that Godtiers and rises not your original self. I'm not going to spoil the books BUT there is something interesting that could happen. Jack's dream self could in a way "sleepwalk" like how Jade's does, just he probs cant control it like she did. Jack is always a bit of an oddball and he is more attuned to "the horrors" than any of the others are.

I think it would be REALLY COOL if his dream self got whispers from the horrorterrors in the farthest ring. Even more, he might be able to hear them when his waking body is active (which is all the time), hushed murmurs echoing in his head telling him whispered secrets from the edge of the medium. What if Sabine talks to him like that? Her voice echoing through the void of the farthest ring beyond oblivion passed through the horrorterrors giving him hints and knowledge about the game and how to move forwards?

Also that means Jack is the most likely to go grimdark! So thats fun!

I never let TJ escape a good angst opportunity, but their response to aerosols are always delayed, and I didn't want to disrupt the community moving on from the Fear Gas <3))

[ The Janitor lays in a barren room, trying to wait out the clumsiness curse. It'll only be a couple hours; it is annoying to lay still and idle, but it is better than breaking things (or someone).

It starts with the smell of smoke. Unfortunately, the smell of smoke is not uncommon in the Evil Science Center; someone's always burning something or setting something on fire.

The cyberspiders will handle whatever it is; they will continue to lay on the floor.

There is sparks in the corner of their vision, just under the door jam. The Janitor sits up as fingers of flame reach under the door, and they are promptly on their feet by the time the walls catch.

Their first attempt at leaping up into a vent fails; they pick themself up from the ground and make it on the second, banging through the vents far noisier than they normally would. They fall out of the vents into a hallway, thankfully not on fire.

Where are they? It looks familiar, but it is like a word on the tip of their non-existent tongue. The colors are wrong, but the smells and atmosphere are right. They start to walk, but it is a slog.

Then, voices, familiar and beloved voices humming, laughing, and screaming in the distance. The Janitor rushes in the direction of the scream. They can't let anyone know their beloved humans are here, wherever here is. ]

( If you're watching cameras or just loitering around the halls, you see The Janitor sprinting; they fall, but get back up and immediately start sprinting again, bumping against the walls. If you watch them, they smack at their uniform and bandages from time to time. You hear them calling "Wait!", "Where are you?", "Come back!", and "Fire! Get out!". )
