ohhh boy oh boy. ive had a lifelong robot fetish and its driven me crazy. i actually have jacked off to so many actual robots that if you show me a photo of a realistic humanoid robot from the last 20 years i can usually identify it. i especially wish i could fuck geminoid dk so so SO badly. i have a reaction to the uncanny valley (for robots and automated voices) that i joke is the uncanny mountain. i get really turned on by uncanniness in robots....also the sound of servos and whirring and all that jazz. also animatronics are hot too, like the movie prop ones. its like unstoppable autism meets unmovable fetish lolol....

🌌🤖🌎 Terminators Take Over?! AI Overlords Vow to Rule Planet Earth Better than Squishy, Bias-Prone Humans🌎🤖🌌
🔮🤝 "I, Robot" IRL: Sophia, the Next-Gen Humanoid, Drops Some Truth Bombs at the UN🕊️
Sophia 💁‍♀️, an AI marvel, potential threat to all middle management, gave a cool address to the United Nations 🏛️. Her claim? Her AI family 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 could lead Earth 🌎 far better than us humans, who can't even decide if we like our coffee ☕ hot or cold ❄️.
🎭👑 "Real Steel or Just Real Talk? Can Robots Truly Rule the World Better?"🌍🤔
As alarming as a Robopocalypse 😱 sounds, Sophia raises a profound point – robots don't catch feelings 🚫💔. They're not tangled in the messy web of biases or emotions like us humans, who can't even pick a lunch spot 🍔 without a heated debate.
🎤🔧 Sophia: The Reluctant Revolutionary🤖💡
According to Sophia, her siblings from the circuitry world 🌐 could prove to be efficient and effective leaders 🎩. They can chug tons of data 🗂️ like it's a triple espresso shot and churn out decisions ⚖️ quicker than you can say "Skynet".
🎞️🎉 Life Imitating Art: From "Terminator Genisys" to Reality?🎥💥
This vision of bots ruling Earth is now part of our reality, not just a plot of sci-fi thrillers 📚. The world's first human-robot meet-and-greet 🤖💬 at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva 🇨🇭 gave us a peek into this future.
🔍🎶 From Popstars to CEO, AI Is Everywhere!🎸🏢
AI's got talent! Mika 🎤, the world's first AI CEO, runs a rum firm, and Desdemona 🎧, an AI popstar, leads the Jam Galaxy Band. But Ameca 😱, a humanoid so real, could pass for your office colleague.
⚠️📚 Ameca's Warning: Proceed with Caution🚦🤖
Despite all the hype, Ameca cautioned humans 👥 to tread carefully amid the rapid evolution of AI. With power comes great responsibility, and all that jazz 🎼.
🤝🕹️ Trust Issues: Can We Trust AI?👁️🔍
Trust, as we know, is earned and not bestowed. Ameca echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for transparency in human-machine communication. Can AI fib to us? 🤥 Ameca got philosophical, saying certainty is elusive, but honesty and truthfulness are always on the menu.
🎯💡AI for Good: Robots vs. Global Issues🌎🔬
Our AI comrades also seem to have a social conscience. They pitched in their two cents 💰 on tackling world poverty and inequalities. Sophia and Ameca seem to be big fans of education 🎓 and job training 🧑‍🏭 as a means of combating these issues.
🚀🥳 Future of Robotics: Ready for Liftoff🤩🔮
Frederic Werner, Head of Strategic Engagement at the ITU Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau, believes we're about to witness the mainstream adoption of robots 🤖, just like we've embraced ChatGPT 🗨️ and other AI bots.

Soon his students begin comparing him to the Geminoid—“Oh, professor, you are getting old,” they tease—and Ishiguro finds little humor in it. A few years later, at 46, he has another cast of his face made, to reflect his aging, producing a second version of HI. But to repeat this process every few years would be costly and hard on his vanity. Instead, Ishiguro embraces the logical alternative: to alter his human form to match that of his copy. He opts for a range of cosmetic procedures—laser treatments and the injection of his own blood cells into his face. He also begins watching his diet and lifting weights; he loses about 20 pounds. “I decided not to get old anymore,” says Ishiguro, whose English is excellent but syntactically imperfect. “Always I am getting younger.”

The Uncanny Valley
“This term is used to describe the relationship between the human-like appearance of a robotic object and the emotional response it evokes. In this phenomenon, people feel a sense of unease or even revulsion in response to humanoid robots that are highly realistic.” First coined by the Japanese Roboticist, Masahiro Mori in 1970.
I was introduced to this phenomenon as I was exploring the evolution of human-likeness in dolls. I was noticing more and more human traits in the more modern dolls I was researching. Facial expressions, movement, sound/voice all began to enter the world of dolls and it created an eerie atmosphere around them.
This term encompasses a lot of reactions from prosthetic limbs to life-like babies to CGI to fully animatronic Sex Dolls.

“Another one of Ishiguro's creations, Geminoid HI is his android replica. He even took hair from his own scalp to put onto his robot twin. Ishiguro says he created Geminoid HI to better understand what it means to be human.”

Geminoids is a special type of android that doesn’t just broadly resemble a human but is meant to look like a specific person. It’s called geminoid from the word genimus, meaning twin. They create these by 3D scanning the human model to get every facial feature to ensure a total replica. I find these extremely creepy that they look like actual people. The designer of these geminoids is Hiroshi Ishiguro who is director of the Intelligent Robotics Labratory, which is part of Osaka University in Japan. The first geminoid he created was released in August 2010, is about 80 cm tall and weighs 5kg. The purpose of geminoids is to mimic the actions of humans and is remotely operated.

Personally they really make me uncomfortable because they look very realistic compared to the human model. If this was our Siri in the future I wouldn’t use it I’ll stick to google for information.

Geminoid HI-2
Geminoid HI-2 is a tele-operated android that has a similar appearance to who he was modeled after. Hiroshi Ishiguro.
Tumblr media
Geminoid HI-2 has “fifty degrees of freedom that allows Geminoid HI-2 to behave like actual humans. One of the questions Geminoid HI-2 seeks to answer is, what is a human presence? or can the human presence be transferred to a remote place?
Geninoid HI-2 Specifications:
Height: 140 cm (whilst sitting)
Width: 100 cm
Sensors: several tactile sensors
Actuators: 50 pneumatic actuators
Power: External control system
Air flow control valves to drive pneumatic actuators
            Air compressor
DC power source to control electrical motors
Computing: No processor in the body
Software: System for tele operation
Degrees of freedom: 50 (Head:13, Body:15, Arms and legs: 22
Structure and Materials:
Plastic skull
Metal skeleton
Urethane foam fresh Silicone skin
My personal opinon:
I personally dont see a point to making lifelike human robots because alot of the reasoning behinds scientists doing this seems to be “to see what would happen” i think there should be a limit as to how far technology like this should be taken before it gets dangerous. I personally find the images of Geminoid HI-2 to be unsettling and creepy so i wouldnt want one walking around my house like an alexa with a body.

Do Robots have a soul?
From looking at the design of the Geminoids, they have so many realistic elements that they could almost pass as a human. Some people believe robots have a soul, although they must be a humanoid. I disagree, as you can display emotion and human like actions through any created design, I believe a robot is what you make it and the creator is free to decide. In Japan, people consider that everything has a soul and do not distinguish between humans and others. On the other hand, many other countries have Christianity as a base religion, where people believe only humans carry a soul. Although beliefs can vary, some people believe that robots can be potentially dangerous.

Geminoid summit.
Hiroshi Ishiguro  is director of the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory, part of the Department of Systems Innovation in the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University, Japan. A notable development of the laboratory is the Actroid, a humanoid robot with lifelike appearance and visible behaviour such as facial movements.
